CS4 install DVD contains no .exe files?

I have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium, student licensing edition. I have previously installed this on Windows XP.
I recently reinstalled Windows XP. I went to reinstall Adobe CS4 on the system, but there are no installers on the DVD. No autoplay.exe, no setup.exe -- nothing. The contents of the DVD are as follows:
autorun.inf
Creative Suite 4 Web Premium Read Me.pdf
Create Suite 4 Web Premium - Lisez-moi.pdf
<DIR> English
<DIR> Espanol
<DIR> Francais
Leame de Creative Suite 4 Web Premium.pdf
cs4_webprem_disc.ico
The English directory contains 2 directories, Documentation and Goodies, neither of which contains executables. (I thought maybe Windows was just hiding them--trying to protect me from dangerous executables or somesuch--but I searched it on my Mac as well.)
I've installed it successfully before from the same disc. I'm running Windows XP (32-bit) SP3. I'm currently on Step 11 of 12 on
Troubleshoot installation problems with Adobe Creative Suite 4 or Point Products on Windows XP.
Any ideas?

The problem is very simple. Two DVDs came with your software. The DVD you are trying to install from is actually the second DVD which has optional documentation and “goodies” (so to speak), but not the installers for the software. The other DVD, which hopefully you still have, contains the installer for the Creative Suite.

  • Installing Windows 7 with .exe file

    Hello there.
I partitioned my HD to have at least 30 gigs for Windows, except it doesn't have the option to install with a .exe file.
I'm currently under the microsoft academic alliance and need to emulate windows in order to run a program made only in the windows environment. I downloaded Windows 7 from the MAA site but there seems to be no way to run a .exe during the BootCamp installation process.
So my question is: is there a way that I can install Windows 7 with BootCamp using the .exe download file?
    Thank you for your time

NO.... he has a workstation, and not MBP, nor are "drivers already loaded."
    How I would proceed -
Install Windows on its own drive.
    Pull all the other drives.
Boot from Windows 7 Pro DVD
Forget Boot Camp Assistant, it doesn't do anything - unless you really want to install Windows on the SAME drive as Mac OS - not ideal and not what most of Mac Pro owners do.
Just insert your OS X DVD once Windows is up to date - helps to buy the SP1 OEM version $129.
Run Apple SETUP.exe (Boot Camp 3.0.x drivers) and update with ASU or manually to 3.2.
No you don't need to go back and use that ATI. And you dont' want to be in the situation of changing from ATI to Nvidia and all the hassle that adds. you are fine.
The Mac Pro is as close as anything to a standard Wintel workstation.
Add MS Security Essentials or KIS or whatever you favor. KIS2011 or NIS2011 are good, MSSE 2.0 is free and based on their enterprise product.

  • DVD with external exe file

    Hi all,
Is there any solution to call an external .exe application such as a game, from a DVD created in a MAC ? (Like with a menu inside DVD with a button and call the game with .exe or other extension for PC)
I know it can be done with DVD@ccess and it works, unless you install it first into the PC.
I've tried it with Flash CS5 but from what I saw it can't be done (at least for a rookie like me) is there any other application to create it?, (it would be great if could be done all with authoring, without going to an external application).
    Thank you all
    Mario

    Hi Shawn,
DVD@cess did the job (PC and Mac), the only problem is that I need the DVD for commercial purpose (children/kids use), so it's rather annoying telling people to first download the program and install it for the DVD to get access to the interactive content ... for a single client it's ok.
The way I'm doing it's what everyone is doing around here, to put a batch file like autorun in the DVD root, to be the first thing to do (reading the exe file), but I can't get access to the DVD content if it's first open as an executable file ... and can't open the exe file either if it's open by a PC DVD player, this will only work on a PC because it's a exe file (maybe there's a way to do this with an autorun and .app file for MAC, I will search for it).
Anyway thanks for the input and advice, I know it's a rare situation, but I need the game to work ... maybe in another version of DVD studio pro
    Thank you

  • How do I install Photoshop from the .exe files I got from Adobe?

I downloaded Photoshop CS2 from Adobe's site.  That download gave me 5 .exe files, including CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe.
When I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, files were extracted and installation began.  I put in my serial number and other information, and things seemed to be going fine.  Then a window popped up with the message "Please insert Disk 2."  Well, I don't have a Disk 2.
My download included a file "CS2_install_Win.pdf."  In those instructions, it says "the InstallShield wizard may return an error, "Please insert disk [ number ]." If this error occurs, click OK in the dialog box and then double-click the disk image to which the installer refers to manually extract the disk and complete the installation."  So, I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, which overwrote the extracted files from CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe.  But the box saying "Please insert Disk 2" didn't go away. No matter how many times I clicked "OK" it just stayed there.
Still, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe ran, and when it was done I got a message that installation was complete.  But, when I tried to run CS2, I got an error that my serial number and organization were invalid or not installed properly.  I know they were installed because I put them in when I ran CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
So, given that following the pdf instructions that came from the download don't seem to work, can anyone out there offer me better instructions on how to do this installation?  I was thinking of extracting each .exe file to a CD, then just inserting those CDs one at a time.  Will that work?

Missing personalization infopoints to permissions/ user privileges issues which are to be expected with such old versions on contemporary operating systems. Run as admin, turn off security stuff, try compatibility modes. Actualyl burning the discs will of course work, but you might look into simply mounting folders/ disc images as virtual drives e.g. using Daemon Tools Lite or your disc burning software's own disc mounter.

  • I've had a VHS tape converted to DVD. The DVD contains several Video_TS files, which I am not familiar with. I was able to play the original on both my iMac and TV but not copy them. I had copies made but they won't play. Why?

I've had a VHS tape converted to DVD. The DVD contains a Video_TS folder containing several Video_TS files. I tried to copy the disk. The Video_TS files copy but I can't play the DVD. What is the problem?

    Hi
Most probably You've made Your copies as Data-DVDs.
If You put in a blank DVD - Your Mac want's to format it and put it on DeskTop/Finder for You to put files and document onto it. Then on Eject it Burns it - and as a Data-DVD. They will never Play on any DVD-Player.
If You want a Video-DVD then You've to go via a program that can structure Your DVD as such e.g. iDVD or Disk Util tool or Roxio Toast™.
Disk Util tool - can copy a home made Video-DVD to new Video-DVD copies.
    Start Disk Util tool
    Insert Master DVD
    select to copy it
Eject it when asked to do so
Insert Blank DVD - WHEN YOUR Mac ASKS FOR IT - Else You make a Data-DVD which You don't want.
THIS process do not work for Commercial CopyProtected DVDs - and would be illegal any way. Take Care.

  • CS4 Install DVD does not mount on Macbook Pro after Maverick upgrade

I upgraded a Macbook Pro to Maverick from Snow Leopard. I want to install CS4 but when I put the DVD in the Superdrive, it spins and spins and eventually says that the DVD is blank. I have successfully mounted other DVD's so I don't think it is a drive problem. I have also tried the DVD in a newer model Macbook Pro and it mounts successfully. Does anyone have any idea what is causing the problem. More important, is there a different method I can use to install CS4?

I am not saying that the CS4 applications will not work but Adobe has never tested All CS4 applications on MAC Maverick. It might or might not work.

  • How to install two or more exe files in a single set up ?

    hi
I want to make a setup (deployment project ) using visual studio 2010. my requirement is to install a third party software before installing my windows form setup application. how can I manage the setup creation process ?

    Hi jagabandhu Patro,
According to your description, you'd like to add your own custom prerequisite to winforms setup application.
I suggest you using Bootstrapper Package to manage the prerequisites.
You could get the steps about how to use Bootstrapper in the following articles

  • Robohelp install does not discuss 2 file install from .exe and .7z files

Robohelp 11 install instructions: Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Getting started
does not discuss installation other than to say insert disk and install.
I have the .exe and the .7z files from the Your Download page.
How are these used to install Robohelp?

    Hi There,
In order to install Robohelp, you must have 2 files ( .7z and .exe ) downloaded completely at same location / folder.
You have to run .exe file and it will extract .7z file and creates a folder Adobe Robohelp11 on your desktop which contains setup.exe file, that you can run to install Robohelp 11.

  • Adobe reader opening all Exe Files.

I believe I accidently set preferences so that all exe files are opened by adobe reader. Once I uninstalled Adobe reader all .exe files went back to normal. However on re installing Adobe reader all exe files have gone back to opening using adobe reader. When Reader was uninstalled I checked the registry for exe files and was told HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe
should have a default value of exefile, which it does and then checked HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command which must have a default value of "%1" %* which it does. I can not change the registry while adobe reader is installed as the program regedit is an exe. Is there an Adobe register which I must change or another method I can use?
    Thanks if you understood that.

  • Problem With EXE File In WAR

              Hi,
I have a web application packaged as a war file which contains a EXE file. I also
have several JSP pages within the same WAR that point to the EXE file. When using
basic authentication, there is no problem. The client can click on the link and
gets prompted to save the EXE file.
The problem happens when I use form-based login. When the user gets prompted to
save the EXE file, the '.exe' extension is lost, and the file is therefore saved
              without the .exe extension.
Does anyone know what's going on, nad how I can correct this?
              Thanks very much.
              Dan

This application is purely doing analysis of data taken by a different system. The data is input to this code by using dialog to identify the path to a stored data file and then this code does some pulse analysis. But there is no GPIB, serial port or anything (?) that I know of hardware wise is involved. Nor do I think there is any NI-VISA involvement.
The numeric value is a time (in seconds) between two events in the data file. The value should be close to 12.5 usec or 12.5E-6 as read out by the numeric indicator. On all the machines where this code works ok, that is what you get but on this one laptop we consistently get 0.00E+0. If it wasn't for the E+0 telling me that at least this indicator is reading in scientific notation, then I
would think somehow this indicator just had the wrong format or precision but since the E+0 is there, it seems to say that zero is being fed into this point in the code.. ??
Also, I had the owner of the laptop tell me how many folders he found in his C:\Program Files\National Instruments. His answer was three, Data Socket, Measurement Studio and Shared. And inside Shared he has at least the 6.1 Run Time Engine as he would have to have to run these executables. But he DID NOT have NI-VISA. Does anyone think it would need to be there??
Also, we tried the .ini file approach that was suggested in another post but that didn't help... Any thoughts?? thanks... paris1

  • How to deploy exe file

    Hi Export!!
    We are using Mobile 7.1.
We are trying to deploy some exe file to Mobile server.
these files are made by .Net Compact Framework 3.5.
Is there anybody know how to deploy files to the Mobile server?
    help us!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Netweaver mobile 7.10 supports uploading the custom applications in a perticular format.(.SDA files)
These SDA files can contain your .exe file as a part of it.
Kindly prepare the SDA file and upload the same using SDOE_UPLOAD_ARCHIVE transaction.
After this, the application will be available for assignment to the devices in DOE.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 DVD contains no setup.exe file, just setup.xml files, won't install

Newly opened boxed copy of Photoshop Elements 12 won't install on new installation of Win 8.1.  Turned off virus checking (which shouldn't be necessary), Searched files on DVD, unzipping payload files, including the temporary Premier software, and there are on setup.exe files anywhere.  Tried viewing XML files with browser, which readers xml.  Don't have time to investigate Adobe install procedure, which appears pretty sophisticated (I've written a few years ago).  Any clues?

Thanks mytaxsite. Yes, I bought it at Costco, and of course have the serial number on the box.  I'm a Microsoft developer, and searched the DVD, copying the contents to a hard drive and unzipping the "payload" files.  I understand folder viewing filters and found lots of setup.xml files, which I could have used, with some difficulty, to see where Adobe wanted to put things.  But Adobe knows its installation procedure better than I ever will, and so tried to get tech support.  I even have full Photoshop CS5 on an adjacent machine, used by my daughter, but wanted to have basic editing functionality on a machine I use for film scanning.
I never allow anything to be installed without a dialog, whether from my own or a removable storage device.  The  Windows loader apparently didn't detect autoloading functionality and only offered me the options of viewing files and trying to find multimedia, if I recall (which, since it was irrelevant, I didn't note precisely). I just wanted to see the files anyway, at which point I was puzzled by the lack of setup.exe.  I did, as Adobe suggested, disable my virus scanning software, but not my firewall. It made no difference, and I expected none.  Though I've found no legitimate software that couldn't be loaded with virus scanning enabled.
I suspect your suggestion that I download fresh software from Adobe is the correct one.  It is what I expected Adobe Technical support to suggest. Having some confidence in this newish machine, with its newish, and almost unused, BluRay/DVD burner, and my care handling DVDs, I was guessing at some xml-based installation procedure that I might need to install.  Few Costco customers, not in the software business would know where to look, so I'm curious about how Adobe could ship something lacking the old-fashioned setup.exe, twenty+ year old technology based on the DOS shell?  On the other hand, if there are new standards for installation scripts, I would like to know what they are using.

  • I don't find the setup.exe file to begin the install

Hi! I'm trying to install my CS4 on my new laptop, but the install program doesn't show up automatically. So, I try to find the setup file to run it myself, but it doesn't appear either.
What can I do? Thanks a lot!
    Daniel.

I am also having this issue with CS6 Design Premium, no "setup.exe" file on the DVD. How can such a basic file be missing?
I also tried downloading the install files from online (DesignWebPremium CS6 LS16, DesignWebPremium CS6 LS16.7z) and am having great difficulties installing from them too.
Grrrrr, why is this soooooo difficult? I also just installed CorelDraw!X6 and that was as easy as falling off a log!
