CS4 Installation on two computers

I've installed CS4 & Lightroom as an upgrade to CS3 on my XP desktop. Is it possible to use the same disks to install CS4 & Lightroom on my Vista laptop (no CS3 & Lightroom installed)?

Yes...you're permitted two activations as long as you're the only one
using both machines and they're not used at the same tim.
Have the CS3 disks and serial number handy.

Your best bet is probably to start over by cleaning off the old software with the Adobe Cleaner tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then reinstall from your original media, or download it here:

  • After Effect installation on two computers?

I know that the EULA allows for installation of Adobe products on two computers, one at work and the other installation can be at a home or portable computer; as long as the software is not used at the same time.
My question is would installation of the software on an unclassified computer and on a classified computer qualify as the same?
And if so, how could I get Adobe to put that in writing?

What is the difference between a classified and an unclassified computer?
As far as getting Adobe to put something in writing goes, you have it already in the EULA.  If you want to make a special contract with Adobe that is not covered by the EULA you probably need to take it thru Adobe legal channels.  Asking in this forum is not anyplace to be looking for an answer for that.

  • CS4 Production Premium installation on two computers?

I have recently purchased CS4 Production Premium and learned that two activations are permitted.
Can I install Photoshop & Illustrator on one computer (for designer)
and install Soundbooth & Premier on a different computer (for sound engineer) and run these programs simultaneously by two users?
Would this be allowed under the license agreement?
    -- David

your one license entitles you to two concurrent activations as long as both are on a pc or both on a mac.

  • Same installation on two computers

Hello, I just bought a macbook and I have an Imac core 2 duo. Can I clone my Imac hard drive on the macbook so I don't have to reinstall everything??
    Thanks
    Jonathan

If you really want to clone your OS, why not get an external FWHD?
My point about the Licence Agreement still stands. Your licence for the iMac covers OS X on the iMac, your licence for the Macbook covers the OS on the Macbook. Moving either OS onto the other computer, AFAIK, will break the Licence Agreement.
I don't know the law that well, maybe someone with more knowledge will confirm one way or the other. Here's a link to the Licence Agreement:

  • Does the single user license Leopard allow installation on two Macs?

Does the single user license Leopard OS 10.5 allow installation on two Macs - say my G5 desktop I use at home and the Macbook Pro I take on the road?

Thanks everyone. I don't intend to risk at that… seriously, the problem is many software licenses allow for installation on two computers (one "at home" and the other "at work", for instance) - at least all my recent purchases, mostly music production software such as Finale, Logic, Line 6 stuff and Live. That's why I thought Apple might have been a little more generous at that…
I appreciated everyone's help at clarifying that.

  • Single licence LR upgrade - two computers

For many years as only user, I installed LR on a desktop and a laptop. Two installations on two computers, software is never used simultaneously. Installing the upgrade to LR6 (standalone, not CC) on my Macbook as second installation didn't accept the installation code. Anyone with the same problem?

    Dear Atul,
Even trying to install it as a trail, the installationsoftware keeps
    asking for a serial number.
I noticed during installation that I was asked to sign in with my
Adobe-id, but never asked to supply a password. Upon clicking on 'next',
there is a message that there is no internet connection (not true). A
second click brings me to the field where I can fill in the serial
number. I do this and then the message appears that this serial number
cannot be validated and I should seek contact with customersupport.
I have done this repeatedly, each time with the same result.
    Some things to consider;
I used separate downloads of the same installationfile. So I downloaded
    twice.
    Would deactivation help?
Should I first remove LR5 from my laptop altogether? Installation of a
new versionover a pre-existing one has always worked, btw.
    Kind regards,
    Jan Wich

  • Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content only installed on one of two computers

    Hello,
I installed Adobe Creative Suite CS4 MC on two systems. One system lists "Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content" in Add/Remove Programs. This left me a bit baffled as to what this content is and why it only installed on one machine (i.e., assuming I did not erroneously selected or deselected it during the default install). I thought it would be reasonable to install the missing content on the second machine but I cannot find an installer listing "Adobe After Effects CS4 Third Party Content" in the CS4 default or custom installer.
Could someone please tell me what this content is used for and how I can install it on the second machine?
    Thank you...

    > It should by no means be shown separately in the install database
That's not true for one case.
If you install After Effects in trial mode, the third party content won't be installed. But it leaves the third party content installer on your machine so that when you add a serial number the plug-ins can be added. This causes a new installer to run, so it will be registered (and need to be uninstalled) separately from the main installer.
Frederick- Verify that both machines have the third party plug-ins that Mylenium listed. If it's not on the second machine you probably have it in trial mode and need to serialize. (If not, try uninstalling and reinstalling After Effects from the Master Collection package.)

  • Installation question, have two computers...which one should i use?? help!

i just bought a refurbished ipod video off apple.com...it has not arrived yet, but i am looking for an answer before i get too anxious and make a dumb mistake.
i just recieved a mac book for xmas, and i have a windows XP as well. The windows has ALL my music, but i dont use it anymore. I would like to know what the best way to install would be.
I am a bit worried, because apple sometimes doesnt let transfer between two computers, (because of music sharing), but i'd like to see how this will work on.
music is on windows, a different computer, but i want to use my mac with my ipod full time...right after i get my music off windows and onto it.
    thank you!

Firstly, please understand that an iPod formatted on a PC can be read by both computers i.e. PC+Mac, but it has disadvantage that it will be a bit slow vs Mac's formatted iPod when you do a sync.
If I were you, I will go for a Mac, and forget your PC. Follow the methods as mentioned by Jeff Bryan, you can easily move your songs from your PC to your Mac via your iPod

  • Computer with CS6 Died on one of two computers. I need to install and activate CS6 Web Premium on another computer. How can I activate it on new computer?

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS6 installed on two computers. One of the two computers experienced a catastrophic failure. The hard drive is damaged and the computer will not boot. So now I only have access to CS6 on one computer.  I would like to install CS6 on a new computer so that I have two working computers each with an installation of CS6. How do I do this and activate both installations? I tried calling Adobe but the only number I have to troubleshoot problems is for Creative Cloud problems only. Any way to contact a live person at Adobe would be appreciated. Any other solutions would also be appreciated..
    Thank you.

You can contact Adobe support thru chat and they can deal with inaccessible activations to deactivate them.

  • I can use the same account on two computers?

I can use the same account on two computers?

You can use the same serial number on two computers, given the conditions in the end-user license agreement (You cannot have Lightroom using the same serial number in use on two computers at the same time, and both installations must be for your own personal use.)

The license and activation rights are for a single user on two computers that are not used simultaneously—such as your desktop machine and your laptop.

  • Installing and activating Creative Suite 6 Design Standard on two computers?

    Hello!
I purchased Creative Suite 6: Design Standard as a physical copy (with a CD) about a couple of years ago. I've installed it on my iMac, but now that I purchased a Mac Book Pro, I'd also like to install the package on the laptop. My new Mac Book Pro 13" with Retina display does not have a CD/DVD drive.
First of all, is it possible to have an Adobe package installed and activated on two computers simultaneously?
I tried to download the Creative Suite 6 from the Downloads on Adobe website and activate it on my laptop with the serial number that I received when I purchased the product, but the serial number did NOT work. It says "The serial number you entered is invalid." Does this problem occur because the serial number is in use on the Creative Suite, which is installed and activated on my iMac?
Is there another way to download + install + activate the package on my laptop? Obviously without a CD/DVD drive I cannot use the physical installation CD that I purchased.
Thanks for help in advance, I really appreciate it!
    – Miina

    Hello!
Thanks for the reply. I've been looking into this problem more but haven't been successful in solving it. Getting a bit frustrated with this!
The serial number seems to be the issue.. I don't know why it won't go through. Do I need a different serial number to activate a Creative Suite 6 Design Standard downloaded from the Adobe website? I used the same serial number that can be found on the back of the product box that I purchased a couple of years ago. So far I have installed and activated my product only with my iMac, and now attempting to activate it with my Mac Book Pro, so the problem is not that it's been activated too many times.
When I finally do manage to activate this software also on my laptop, do I have to deactivate and activate it every time I wish to switch from one computer to the other? Is there a limit to how many times it can be activated/deactivated?
    Thanks again for your help!
P.s. I also consulted this person https://forums.adobe.com/people/Nikhil%20Bisne (not sure if he is around, though) on my issue, because he was able to help somebody with a similar issue here: Re: Invalid Serial Number . The difference being that this person was activating their software for the first time, I'm trying to activate it a second time on a different machine (while still keeping the software activated on the first machine).
