CS4 license no longer working

Re: the error 150 : 30 / license no longer working. Is there a reason a fresh installation is the "last resort" fix listed on Adobe's help page? Is it just the time involved? I have the CS4 suite, running on a Mac mini. Would there be patches or updates that might not be a available?

uninstall, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then reinstall.  do not migrate/use time machine etc.

    Solution using Windows XP, Administrative tools under Control Panel

    FLEXnet Licensing Service (Right click and select Properties)
    General Tab: Startup Type – change “Disabled” -> “Automatic”   Press Apply.
    Recovery Tab: 1st, 2nd, and Subsequent Failures – change “Take No Action” -> “Restart the Service”  Press Apply
    General Tab: Service Status – press “Start Button”  Press Apply
    Services window – check FLEXnet Licensing status = “Started”
    Verify fix by starting Adobe Acrobat 9 (rebooting not required).

  • I upgraded to Mac OSX Mavericks and my adobe cs4 licensing won't work

    I bought my mac book pro a couple of years ago for my education at Kendall College of Art and Design.  As a student I had my computer come installed with the student edition of Adobe Creative Suite 4.  A few weeks ago, I went in to the Apple store to be advised regarding my thoughts on updating my Mac OSX Snow Leopard to Mavericks.  I was told that Mavericks was stable and that I would be able to continue using my current Adobe Creative Suite on the new operative system. 
    Now when I try to start the program up on Mavericks, i receive the following window:
    Licensing for this product has stopped working.
    This product has has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched.
    If you continue to see this message after restarting your computer please contact either your IT administrator or adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

    I went in earlier today to the Apple store to fix this problem, but I was told to get in contact with Adobe since they couldn't help.
    I require this program for my works, so I need help.

  • DreamWeaver CS4 License Buttons not working...

    ...and no matter what I do, I can't get beyond that point.  Even when I tried to uninstall (yes I hit uninstall, and the license box came up) I couldn't even do that because the buttons, though I could hit them, nothing would happen. They worked before until recently.
    I have not installed anything new on my computer, I've done nothing different to it, I just went to open up one of the files I'd been working on and all of a sudden, the buttons stopped working. What is going on and how can I fix it.  I have done an online search and nothing comes up to help me fix this. PLEASE HELP, I'm in the middle of a newsletter I have to have done by this Friday and I'm in a real jam!
    Thank you for anyone who has any answers for me. (I had Dreamweaver on this computer which I got from my friend because she got a new computer and loved it until this happened.)

    I'm confused about the button you are talking about, but if you tried uninstall/reinstall, did you use the Clean Tool?

    And yes I am aware of the name saying CS5, but they condensed the CS3-CS5 tool into one.

  • My CS4 Licensing has stopped working, Error 150:30 and I can't reinstall as my disc is currently unaccessible.

    I can't gain access to my install discs and I have tried all the other suggestions for fixing this problem, so I'm thinking reinstallation is the only way.
    I have access to my serial number but I can't find anywhere that offers a download of CS4 as it's a bit older.

    I have seen this question here but have not seen a solution.  I recently (grudgingly) upgraded to Lion 10.7
    Now all my CS4 applications won't opne and give me this error that the license is no longer working!  I have gone through all the fixes that Adobe recommends and nothing works.  The only thing I have not done is uninstall everything and reinstall - I am really afraid to do that.
    Has anyone found a solution to this?  I am really upset and depend on Dreamweaver and Photoshop for my work!

    had the same problem here with PSE 8 after system recovery from time machine backup. I also updated to Lion couple of month ago. I also tried all of the listed solutions on the adobe support pages but none of them worked. The folder FLEXNet_Publisher in the systems hard drives folder Preferences, which it says to be deleted does not exist and was only found in the application support folder. I also tried all of the other solutions listed on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html  and had more or less the same problems, it did not work.
    I found the following solution myself by doing this:
    go to the folder [hard drive]/Library/Application Support/FlexNet Publisher and make a copy of this folder
    then go to the folder [hard drive]/Library/Preferences and paste this copied folder there.
    Then try again to start your application and now it should show you the licenceregistry window. Type in your serial number and confirm. Then the application starts and runs properly. So it was on my system.

  • Illustrator cs4 license problems no solutions have worked

    i have cs4 illustrator. Imac running mavericks. get error code 150:30. I have reviewed the adobe information. no sollution works. I do not have flexnet folder- don't know why. I can't find it on any old computer either as some have. I downloaded the launcher, tried terminal, went to sudo command, dragged icon of liceneRecoverylauncher program, and get a syntax error. nothing happens in termainl. The other solutions are too draconian, not likely to work, or not applicable. THis is very, very irritating. if there were another product from another provideer, I would abandon adobe for it, but there isn't. I've shelled out many hundreds of dollars for 2 licenses for illustrator, can't use anything. very, very irritating.

    Do you mean reinstall with the cds?
    I have not. Is there a way I can talk with someone? I don't really even know how useful this license will be. The computer I'm using now is probably not the one on which cs4 was originally installed. That computer died, and I cloned it/migrated its programs, etc. to a newer one, using a time machine back up. This new comuter is running Mavericks. Surely the original OS was pre Mavericks.  The present computer also has no CD drive. The Cs4 package I have (on my hard drive)  is version 14.0.0 copyright 1987-2008.  I do not know if this is as installed out of the box, or possibly upgraded through the internet over time.
    There is an uninstall program also on my hard drive.
    But, I do not have a disk drive on this mac. I have another mac networked, and it has a cd drive- not sure I can access that, probably I can.
    My first question is, is the version of cs4 compatible any longer with my mac hardware and Mavericks?
    If not, then I don't want to go through all of this trouble- it's very frustrating. I'd rather bite a bullet and get a paid upgrade, I suppose, and install it cleanly?
    But If it is, then I would try.
    If I'll need an upgrade anyhow, and if that would require downloading, and paying a fee, etc., and then all would be fine, then, i'd rather skip to that step, although, I'd of course like to spend as little money as I need to, but, on the other hand, my time is valuable to me also,
    I also don't recall whether I had a two machine license or not. We were able to use it on two machines, I think I had such, but perhaps we were running them non-simultaneously, or something else, I do not know. I only see one box of cds on the shelf, so, probably didn't buy two boxes.
    I don't even know to whom to ask these questions. I would like to be able to phone someone, but can't find any such number.

  • CS4 no longer works after upgrade to Maverick

    I upgraded my MacBook Pro OS two weeks ago to Maverick (I used my external harddrive to grab my applications and files). Since then, I'm unable to open Photoshop (or other CS4 applications). Initial error was about licensing stopped... I used a forum to get ideas for deleteing FlexNet Publisher, etc to no avail. I have OS X 10.9.
    This didn't work this morning either - LicenseRecoveryLauncher didn't run.
    What can I do to save my Adobe Creative Suite? Is it possible without uninstalling/reinstalling? (I don't have the discs or licensing key at this point).

    I had a somewhat similar problem on my new MacBook Pro which I was able to resolve by restoring a missing preference folder in the System Library.
    As background I migrated my files from an older MacBook Pro running OS X Lion (10.7.5) to a new MacBook Pro runing OS X Mavericks (10.9.1).  I used the Apple supplied utility, Migration Assistant.  I migrated using a Time Machine backup of the old machine.  All Adobe CS4 programs transferred during the migration.
    When I tried to start PS4 on the new machine I received the same:  "Error: Licensing has stopped working" message mentioned in the original post.
    Adobe has a post: Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS which outlines a series of procedures to restore this function. Note the second step describes executing a terminal "sudo" command to use with 10.7, which is a powerful command which I am leery of using on 10.9 without Adobe direction.
    BUT I didn't need to go to step 2 in the procedures.  The first step says:
    Solution 1: Delete the FlexNet Publisher preferences folder
    -  Quit all Adobe applications.
    -  On your startup disk, locate and delete the following folder:
    [hard drive]/Library/Preferences/FlexNet Publisher/
    Important: The path above points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
    Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the 10.7 release. If it's necessary to access these files to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, use the instructions in the following document make the user library content visible: Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
    NOTE:  In OS 10.9 the folder is no longer hidden
    On my new machine there was no "FlexNet Publisher" folder in the preferences folder!  I checked the old machine and the folder was present.  I moved a copy of the folder from the old machine to the [hard drive}/Library/Preferences/ folder on the new machine and now PS4 loaded without problem!
    I have tried other CS4 apps and they all come up without a problem.  I don't know why the folder wasn't moved by the Apple Migration Assistant Utility.  The "FlexNet Publisher" folder was in the Time Machine backup but Migration Assistant didn't move it.

  • Kuler no longer working in InDesign CS4

    I've been googling this a lot but haven't found a (working) solution yet. I did find a link to what could be a solution, but the link is not working anymore.
    I'm an IT guy in an office where we have a small team of four people using Adobe Creative Suite 4. Recently they contacted me asking for help because Kuler was no longer working for them (it stopped working for all four).
    I installed InDesign CS4 on my own machine only to see that it does not work for me either. The error message is "No internet connection detected. Your computer must be online in order to search or access kuler themes".
    When I go to Windows -> Extensions -> Connections I'm able to login, but not able to search for updates, I just get "The update server is unavailable".
    When running the Kuler Air app I just get "kuler klash, please try again later".
    Because we're a big company we do of course have antivirus and firewalls. To make sure that the problem isn't because of this I installed InDesign on a machine (server) on a completely different network with less strict firewall and no antivirus on the machine, but It's just the same error message as before.
    Our machines are running Windows 7 Enterprise (the extra test was done on a Windows 2012 Server).
    Is Kuler just not working for CS4 anymore?

    The Kuler team recently rebuilt the backend of the Kuler service for security, maintenance, and peformance reasons.  (the old back-end was showing signs of failure). 
    Anyway, it seems the new backend is not working with old Kuler APIs (CS3, CS4, and the air app and mac widget).  Adobe typically provides support for up to two versions back.  At the moment, that's CS5 or newer.  So, I'm afraid it's not likely that you can expect a fix for CS4.
    At this point, your team can use the web application to browse, create, and search themes.  They can also download themes as ASE files (on the website) to import into InDesign CS4. 

  • Why does 'Interpret Fields' no longer work in Premiere CS4?

    Although I have moved on personally, my office still uses CS4. For some reason the interpret fields function no longer works, so all my interlaced footage has to be made progrssive to output it!!
    If I load an interlaced clip into the source and view it at 100%, then mess around with the interlacing options...NOTHING HAPPENS!
    I am at my wits end, Adobe no longer support CS4 and re-install didn't help at all.
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I'd already trashed the prefs (in fact I printed them off, ripped them up and burned them for good measure!)
    Media & databases also binned.
    I was thinking it may be a corrupt dll or plugin somewhere, but no idea which one might handle the interlacing?

    Solution 1: I don't have [hard drive]/Library/Preferences/FlexNet Publisher/ on my hard drive so can't delete it.
    Solution 2: Have tried to run license repair tool in terminal. I type sudo python then drag LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app across, but get invalid syntax returned.
    I haven't gone any further than this.
    I did have adobe photoshop cc trial on this machine, which I deleted and wonder whether this has now screwed up Dreamweaver (I don't use it so much these days).
    Any help gratefully received, Tim

  • "Licensing has stopped working..." CS4 Master Collection

    I have recently purchased two copies of Adobe CS4 Master Collection.  The first copy was purchased on June 24th, with the first call to Customer support on June 25th.
    The errors are various with 3 during installation on this vista machine and several when starting the applications.  The only application that runs properly is Acrobat.
    The others fail at activation screens with either BEX error in amtlib.dll or "Licensing has stopped working...”  I have 3 case numbers assigned to this by tech support.  I have talked to more than a dozen Tier One personnel and two Tier Two personnel.  The CS4 package, at the request of various support people, has been uninstalled/re-installed 5 times.  The various attempted “solutions” are well documented so I won’t post the detail here.  There has been zero progress.  Each support person insists on covering the same ground as the prior calls wasting time and money (mine).  I have been waiting for 7 days for a return call from a Tier 2 support person. 
    During call two to tech support I was requested to remove all old Adobe software.  So, at the time of this note, I have been 15 days without the new software working and none of my old software working.  One would think that for the price charged for this Master Collection that, (A) The installation/activation process would work and (B) the customer support would be better.
    I would certainly appreciate some response from Adobe with a solution to this problem.   One of my case numbers is 181030791.  Look in the case file, get my number, call me.

    I have now logged over 9 hours on the phone with ‘support’ (as well as uninstalling and reinstalling my software) and this last genius’s solution………….. ’Set the system clock back to 2008 and run your machine for a day or two like this and I believe that will fix it!’            
    Can you believe this Mickey Mouse nonsense?
    Also, I tell the guy that he as cost me $750 today in lost time, his reply…..’Sir, think how I feel, it takes me a month and a half to make that much’
    It would be funny if it wasn’t so infuriating!

    It seems that there might be some gremlin in the licensing module. The PS CS4 board has several similar instances. I do not know exactly what the problem is, but this should be an easy reset by Adobe. It has worked for the PS users and requires one free telephone call. I am with Harm on this. I doubt that many, if any, users can be of much help. The installation issues *used* to be simple and quick, but I have not had to make that call, since Illustrator 3. Have your S/N handy. If you purchased from the Adobe Store, a receipt # might come in handy too. Once your product has been verified, you'll probably be asked to enter a key, and away you go.
