CS4 Photoshop crash on G5, how to fix?

Once again, I have a problem with CS4 Photoshop on Leopard 10.5.8. Photoshop crashed while opening a file. It actually froze and I pushed the magic button. Now every time I try to open a file in Photoshop the app crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Creative Suite. A number of times. I always get the same result. I have used the Apple disc utility from the Leopard disc. People have looked at the crash report and came up with little to help. One man suggested a third party app to uninstall Photoshop. I've looked at Appcleaner but choose not to use it. It seemed to list the same files I've already uninstalled. Not sure how to proceed. I'd like to get Photoshop back running.

Takes a while to run, but it usually "fixes" some problems. While booted in Safe Mode, see if Photoshop opens OK.

It takes a long time to open an app and sometimes it will just crash, any idea how to fix it?

so you have an external hard disk, onto which you deleted/moved files from your internal hard disk, so that you now have 143 GB or so free on your internal hard disk — is that correct? Is the external disk purely for backups (e.g. a Time Machine destination), or does it function as a supplement to your internal disk?
Was it entirely your personal data files (documents, photos, movies, music, &c.) which you’d deleted or moved to the external disk, or did you also delete/move apps, libraries, &c. over there?
I’m not familiar with Echofon Lite, so I can’t comment on it, but an Apple-supplied app like the App Store shouldn’t crash.
Have you tried running Disk Utility yet, to see if its verification process gives your disks its seal of approval?

CS4 Photoshop crashing suddenly . . .

All of a sudden my CS4 Photoshop is crashing. When I work with levels and masks, it crashes.
Any suggestions?

Have you installed all the Photoshop and OS updates?
Have you recently added any third party plugins?
Can you show us the crash log so we have some idea where it is crashing?

CS4 Photoshop crashing

My CS4 Photoshop will not open. I reinstalled it and it tells me it was installed with errors. It told me to turn off all apps and try again. I did and Photoshop still won't open. It told me to download AdobeSupportAdvisor and ran it, but it could not tell me what is wrong. I packaged the report and submitted it. Who do I talk to now?

CC 2014.1 error 5 crash on load, how to fix?

I get this every time I try to load after effects:
Configuration error
Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

What you'll need to know:
The issue is only on my iMac 27-inch, Late 2013 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2048 MB running OSX Mavericks 10.9.5
I have a full creative cloud monthly subscription
Every other program I use (Photoshop, Premiere, Media Encoder, Bridge, etc) works just fine
I have removed / refreshed AE preferences by both cmd + alt + shift start and also by deleting directories
preferences folder has both read + write permission for my osx account which is admin
I have UNINSTALLED and reinstalled After Effects 5 or 6 times including using the Creative Cloud gear option next to AE as well as manually via the uninstall app in the program folder.
I have tried installing AE CC (pre 2014) and it does not work either
I have tried removing EVERY plugin from library media core and doing so does not fix the problem.
Mediacore DOES initialize every time I try load after effects,
I can get to the point that After Effects loads, I have just a couple of seconds to make a menu selection and open a dialog such as preferences, in which I have time to change any preference. When I hit okay... I get the error above I posted in the beginning of the post. If I have the preferences dialog box open and do not exit it I will not get the error, but of course I can't use AE when in that dialog box. If I let AE load and just wait and not touch anything... I will get the same error after a few seconds.
After Effects CC 2014 DID WORK on this machine before the CC2014.1 update.
How do I believe this happened?
During the AE CC2014.1 update CC app showed AE frozen at 99% of install for over 30 minutes... I had some other issues and had to shut down the computer...
when booting back up I had no need to run AE but since I had to shutdown at a 99% install I figure I better uninstall and reinstall.
CC had a hard time reinstalling AE, it took a couple of times but eventually it did a full install of AE... A few days later I needed to use AE, then I get this error.
I repeat... AE WORKED before this CC2014.1 update.. and even rolling back to CC2014 or CC no longer works either.
I need help resolving this Adobe Team...
AE works on my macbook pro with the exact same programs, setup, and plugins as the iMac.
I need help fixing this please.

every time I reinstall AE, for whatever reason.. it takes nearly 30 minutes and gets hung up at 99% for at least 15 minutes before completing the install... just so you know.. this does not seem normal.. it shouldn't take that long to install.. same situation for uninstalling.. takes forever.
Disk Utility shows HDD is fine btw..
I have THOROUGHLY exhausting all the options I could fine online short of wiping Adobe off the iMAC completely which I am NOT wanting to do ... less the other apps that do work stop working or something crazy like that.

So I used to Clean Tool to completely wipe After Effects,
Then I thought.... screw the cloud app! why not do direct download/manual updating...
So I downloaded AE CC 2014 directly:

and I double checked for any individual updates:

which the only update I saw was 13.2... seems to be no 13.1
Installing AE 13 took less than 5 minutes with the install file!

So then I thought... why not just try the AE 13 straight install without the 13.2 update....
I reused the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to remove all traces of AE again.

Google Adwords crashes in Firefox - how to fix it?

I can go to any website, Google Analytics, gmail, just fine. But if I go to any of my Google Adwords accounts in Firefox, it crashes. I can go to Adwords in Chrome, but not in Firefox. How can I fix this?

Acrobat X Pro, wont stop crashing when starting, how to fix this?

acrobat X pro wont stay launched, crashes when it goes to the dock, or opens then crashes when you attempt to open a document, have uninstalled, reinstalled sw 4 times, still no fix, spent 10 hours on the phone with support, no fix.

Is Acrobat X part of a Suite? If so, you may be encountering the issue described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html
If that's not the case, could you share some information about your system setup?
What version of Acrobat X do you have installed? You can 'Get Info' on the application for the specific version number.
What version of Mac OSX are you running?
Have you tried launching Acrobat from another admin user account?
Have you tried repairing your disk permissions from Disk Utility?
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this quickly for you!

Photoshop CS6 recent glitches, how to fix?

I recently downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud for students and eveytime I work in photoshop, the backgound and workspace will glitch. I never had this happen in my use with photoshop. I wish to get this fixed ASAP

As John asks, system specs are really helpful data points. My guess is you have Win8 and an ATI video card with 12.10 drivers installed. If so, for Win8 you'll need to go to Ps prefs. and set the Performance> GPU settings: Advanced Settings... to 'Basic'. For Win7 you can try uninstalling 12.10 and installing 12.8 to see if that helps.

Cant get online. Keep getting mozilla crash reporter. How to fix?

Everytine I try to get online thru firefox on my home computer, I get the same error message:

Try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode.
Windows: hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox
Mac: hold down the option key when starting Firefox
A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).

Air runtime crashing-any ideas how to fix?

Working on a MacBook Pro, I recently upgraded to Lion. Prior I had little or no difficulties launching a program (Cricut Craft Room) that needs Adobe Air to work. Since Lion upgrade lots of Air crashes and application unexpectedly quits. I've tried uninstalling Adobe Air but when I do I get a message stating I cna't do this without the newest version on Air(which is the actual one I'm trying to uninstall).
I've run a disk utility and tried some advice using the terminal but to no avail. Any ideas?

If it's on a windows network you have to enter your (windows) log in (name/password) credentials.
This should be a 1 time event. It will remember it thereafter.

As you see the Libraries panel in Illustrator:
Could it be that you've got a library selected that does not contain any content? There is a drop-down menu at the top of the panel, where you can select different Libraries.
Also another indicator to look at is in the lower right (Status/Progress indicator):
A Creative Cloud icon will indicate if any synching needs to occur or if the libraries are up to date. If it displays as a general cloud icon, all should be OK (this is assuming that when you work in Photoshop or Illustrator you're using the same Adobe ID).
However, if it has a tiny 'x' below it, it points to a server connection error, or
If it looks like a circle with arrows the Libraries are syncing or require syncing:

My Photoshop CS4 always crash when happens these conditions:
1. Open a file picture or create a file. (FILE 1)
2. Import another file picture... (FILE 2)
3. Copy FILE 2 in FILE 1
4. Now FILE 2 appear inside a layer...
5. Move with the mouse the layer corresponding to the FILE 2

Always happens the same, always, always.
It is so annoying, that don't let me work and I am working right now with Photopaint (think I don't like).
I would need your help to tell em how may I track and fix an APPCRASH.
Do we have an application in windows that allow me to detect the causes of an APPCRASH?
Or is this just because the application is failing?

Prior to the subscription models—and of course that includes CS4—the Photoshop license was platform specific, either Windows or Mac, but not both. Your CS4 Windows serial number ("key") will never work on the Mac version.
CS4 is out of the loop as far as requesting a platform swap for a nominal fee. It is no longer supported by Adobe in any way. A platform swap required the destruction of your PC version, so you could not use both the PC and the Mac versions.
For a time, you could have used CS4 to upgrade to CS6 for about $200, but that time window has closed by now. Now you would have to own a legitimate version of CS5 in order to be eligible to buy an upgrade to CS6.
You can of course buy the full version of Photoshop CS6 Extended for $1,000 from the Adobe store:

Alternatively, you can subscribe to Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC2014 on a monthly basis without ever owning the software. If you stop paying monthly, the software ceases to work.

CS4 Photoshop on G5 crashed, how do I fix it?

I was working in Photoshop, had a file open and opened another file. Photoshop locked up, froze, I had too push the button and restart the computer. now Photoshop crashes every time I try to open a file. I have used disc utiliy and uninstall the Creative Suite then reinstalled the software. Problem still exists.

How did you uninstall - by draging to the Trash, using Creative Suite uninstaller, or using another app uninstaller? I think you may still have a corrupted CS file.

CS6 Photoshop crashes when trying to use type tool or opening up .psd files. Any ideas on how to fix it???

I have Adobe CS6 Design Standard (MAC). I have had it about a year and a half and use it a ton! Just yesterday while I was using Photoshop, I clicked to use the type tool, the "initializing type tool" box popped up then a few seconds later the whole program crashed. I tried opening it back up and every time I did it just kept crashing. I restarted and shut down my computer, but still no solution. I even uninstalled the program then reinstalled. Same thing. All of my other tools work just fine (brush tool, eraser, crop, etc.). Also, when I try to open up a .psd file the program crashes as well.
I tried searching the internet for solutions, but couldn't find much. One suggestion was to delete the Adobe Photoshop program settings file, I did that but it still didn't work. After each crash a report would be sent to Adobe, then another window would pop up saying that Adobe has found a solution for the recent crash. There is a link that says "please CLICK HERE for further details" but the link doesn't take me anywhere. It just doesn't work!
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on how to fix it? I really need to get this up and running again!!!

This is a user to user forum and Adobe Staff does drop by.
First thing to try is Reset the Type Tool by right-clicking on its' icon in the Options bar.
If you still have problems, it could be related to fonts. Here is a step by step troubleshooting help doc for that.
