CS4 Serial Number coming up invalid after years of use

I purchased the CS4 Master Collection some time ago, I know it is really out dated, but it works for me , now I am being prompted to enter my serial number when opening the programs (which worked yesterday???). When I put in my PAID for number I'm getting a red 'X' instead of a green check mark. How can I resolve this? The suite has been on my new PC for over 2 years with no problems until now.

Yeah, I did last night, but all they could tell me is the serial number is invalid and provide proof of purchase. Unfortunately, I bought CS4 probably 5 years ago and finding a receipt is a slim chance. They won't help until then.

    Purple Lobster your Creative Suite 4 serial number is for Windows or Mac only.  If you were previously using it on Windows then it is likely you have a Windows license.  You can verify by checking your serial number at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find more details at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
    If you wish to run Adobe Creative software on your new iMac then I would recommend a Creative Cloud complete or single application membership.  You can find more details at https://creative.adobe.com/plans.  There is also a 30 day trial available for the Creative Cloud if you wish to evaluate the newest versions of the Adobe Creative applications.

  • Cannot activate CS4 serial number

    Is anyone else having problems with activating CS4 serial number. I bought a student version of CS4 recieved my serial number after verifying student status, upon entering the serial number it was rejected, I tried unistalling the application and reinstalling, same result. I went onto the Adobe website to contact them, it is so hard to do that. I tried the 1800 Australia number only to be told by a recorded message that the office hours closed at 5pm it was 430 pm when I called (I made allowances for daylight saving time). I need help as I want to use CS4 but can't. I have checked that I have entered the numbers correctly and included the dashes where appropriate.

    If it's registered, you would just log into your Adobe account and it will be listed there under Applications and Subscriptions.
    Otherwise, it's either on your installation disk, or in the original email (which you printed and saved for future use, right?) that you got when you purchased the download from your online retailer of choice.
    If none of the above, you're probably stuck, Adobe no longer supports CS4.

    The "601" will usually be the same in all serial numbers.  "7581" is, of course, the model number and "010" is the ERP-Number, which will be the same for each exemplar of the same mainboard type/model.
    If there is a production date encoded in the serial number (which I am not sure of), it has to be part of this sequence:

    The "09" could indicate the year of production.  I have a board here which I bought in 2006 (975X Platinum PUE) and the respective part of the above number is "K06" here.  Another board I have (P45 Neo2) was bought in 2008 and the serial number contains "K08" in the above spot.
    Again, I am not sure about this, I am just speculating.  There is usually also an EAN-Number and a UPC-A number on the product sticker, which may contain further clues regarding the production date.
    Maybe we can make more sense out of this once we have a few other (older and newer) serial numbers to compare.
    Perhaps we can get some users to share this kind of information, so that on the long run, we will be able to say if there is a relation between serial numbers, production date and Socket Type (and not just random use of different sockets).
