Cs4 serial number is wrong

Dear sir/madam,
I have got a one time exception to download CS 4 from the Adobe Customer Support (Web Case Details: 212673989).
Here also I got a serial number activating this software, but this number is not valid.
I would like to know the reason why?
What is the solution?

Photoshop CS4 Serial number flagged as invalid when I know it's OK. I have been transferring my software to Windows7 from XP by running two operating systems on separate volumes so I can keep working while dealing with compatibility problems. I have my original CD with serial number that I have been using for years. I have wasted a lot of time on this but I am now at the stage where I have deactivated and uninstalled PS from XP, reinstalled from download from Adobe on Win7. When I install I'm asked for the serial number which is accepted OK. When I try to run PS I'm again asked for s/n but this time it's flagged as Invalid. BUT the good news is, I have tried again this new day and NOW it goes through. Go figure!

Purple Lobster your Creative Suite 4 serial number is for Windows or Mac only. If you were previously using it on Windows then it is likely you have a Windows license. You can verify by checking your serial number at http://www.adobe.com/. If you wish to run Adobe Creative software on your new iMac then I would recommend a Creative Cloud complete or single application membership. If it's registered, you would just log into your Adobe account and it will be listed there under Applications and Subscriptions.
Otherwise, it's either on your installation disk, or in the original email (which you printed and saved for future use, right?) that you got when you purchased the download from your online retailer of choice.
If none of the above, you're probably stuck, Adobe no longer supports CS4.

Cannot activate CS4 serial number

Is anyone else having problems with activating CS4 serial number. I bought a student version of CS4 recieved my serial number after verifying student status, upon entering the serial number it was rejected, I tried unistalling the application and reinstalling, same result. I went onto the Adobe website to contact them, it is so hard to do that. I tried the 1800 Australia number only to be told by a recorded message that the office hours closed at 5pm it was 430 pm when I called (I made allowances for daylight saving time). I need help as I want to use CS4 but can't. I have checked that I have entered the numbers correctly and included the dashes where appropriate.

Thanks Bob, but I'm nearing the end of the 30 days and I bought this for my son for Christmas so I'm getting a bit antsy to have this problem resolved. Wanted to install legitimately bought CS2 from CDs on a new PC. Installed with serial number. Installation without problem, but activation is not possible. Telephone support says: Go to www.adobe.com/go/activation. So I loaded down the 3 files "CS2_RetNon_Ger_1, 2 and 3" which should function without activation and tried to install. But now the installation routine says, that the serial number is wrong. What can I do?

did you purchase your product from these firms like Amazon? If yes, this is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. (Start here: How did you purchase your product?)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.

The CS4 serial number cannot work with my computer with Window 7 64bit, it always prompt me that the serial number is incorrect. However, i am sure the serial no. is correct.

Without proper detailed system info and details about what CS4 product you actually mena, what license type, what language and so on nobody can even guess...

Problems loading CS4, serial number not accepted. Why?

I've just got my CS4 Extended, Student edition for my MacBook and received my emailed serial number, but it won't allow me to install it. I get the little red cross when I input the numbers.
I know I should be checking the language, but I don't know how, or where, as I didn't get any option when i originally put the disc in.
Can anyone give me any guidance please?
