CS4 Show tool tips not functioning in adjustment mode

Show Tool Tips function is not functioning(no display) in any adjustment panel. Was working previously. It is checked in preferences and does work on uppermost main tool bar. At times it was slowish to respond but eventually did. Working with PS4 in Design Premium. Checked function box on and off several times as well as opening and closing program and also shutting down computer. Any help or something else I need to look at in preferences? Thanks. Bob
Edit: Tool Tips function works fine in "In Design" and "Illustrator" so it appers it has to be something in Photoshop

I tried that link several weeks ago and did a reset, I do not want to do delete the preference files if at all possible. I am certain that you know what my problem is but if you don't mind. I would like to clarify what is going on. Previously in the preferences file under the interface label there is a box to turn on or off the tool tips function. It has always been "on". Whenever I wanted to see what an icon's function was related in a panel I placed the cursor on it an it would show it's function. I. e. make a new layer, mask, etc. It no longer does that when I am in the adjustment panel. The function works when I click on it and that is not a problem. All I want is the tip or hint or label as to what the icon's function is to appear and that is what I ubderstand is what the show tool tips function I have CS3 running on another machine and this function it works fine. If I turn it off in the preference fill it no longer works I also have elements 8 on my daughters laptop and that is also fine...on works, off doesn't workI do not have any problems in the tools venue. All function properly and all sub menus work fine.
Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again for replying

Pai Chart layout and Tool Tip not refreshing

Hi All
We have an application where we displaying data on Pai Chart based on Data-Grid row clicked.
Its an Polling kind of application, where multiple option are there.
When a data grid row clicked, in the Pai chart we displaying polling votes in percentage.
Some question has 2 option and some 4 and out of those few are having votes.
Ex: Question 1 has 2 option ( A, B ) and both got some votes.
Question 2 has 3 options ( X,Y,Z ) and only " X " got all the votes.
So when we clicked on data grid row for Q1 the Pai chart shows all the options ( 2 ) in block dividing manner.
It has also outward tool tip to show the count and percentage.
And when we clicked on Q2 which has 3 options but got votes for only 1, the Pai chart shows perfectly with 100% and one circle without divide, but the tool tip of Q1 not cleared. It shows tool tips of Q1 as well as Q2.
And when adjust the Pai Chart Layout, then only it clears unwanted tool tips, but not automatically.
For better understanding i have attached the screen shot of the problem. please look into that once.
So any one who faced similar kind of problem or know the solution then please help me.

Alt-text 'tool tip' not appearing on some images

We get pdf files created by outside sources that we then need to publish on our webpage. I add tags to the pdf, then add the alt-text to the images via the Touch Up Text tool. As well as I can determine, the tag for the alt-text is present in the pdf. The Read Out Loud function in Acrobat reads the alt-text correctly as does a screen reader. But the 'tool tip' does not appear on all images. It seems that the more complex, mulitple layered dwg type images do not display the text, either from the browser, or from Acrobat itself. Other dwg source images do work, and photgraphic images are ok.
I have gone back through the pdfs to verify the existence of the figure tag, and that the alt-text is there.
I have opened the tags dialog, looked at the properties, and added the text to the Title field as well as the alt-text and Actual Text.
I have converted the images to jpgs, which resolves the issue, but greatly reduces the quality of the image.
I am using Acrobat Pro 8.1.4 on a Windows XP, sp2 system.
I am aware that the ADA requirement do not require the 'tool-tip' to function, but when you have many, many pages of images in a pdf using a screen reader or the read out loud function to test is not feasible for testing. We need to have the tool-tip working, and I have run out of ideas on how to make it work.

I just figured out that those photos had been set to a blending mode of Multiply
because an earlier iteration of the design used transparency. But to the eye, they
look like normal photos, so I didn't realize they were set to Multiply.
This solved the problem but it's not heartening news. What if my graphic legitimately
did have a blending mode set? What would my workaround be if I needed to set Alt Text
for those images?

Cropping tool does not function properly in Photoshop CS3

Cropping tool does not function properly in Photoshop CS3. Always crops to .004" x .004". Tried reinstall with no luck. Any fixes out there?

Reset the tool by right-clicking on the crop tool drop-down/fly-out menu in the top options bar (big crop tool icon above the tools panel, when the crop tool is selected). Be sure to check there aren't values in the crop tool by hitting the clear button in the options bar.

Localized brush tool does not function in 2.1

This may have been discussed previously, but I have just registered on the Forum, and I opted not to search every topic.
The Adjustment Brush in version 2.1 still does not function properly on my computer. I cannot see the mask, and the tool takes forever to register a change. For example, I will try to paint in an adjustment--nothing will happen, and I try something else. Several minutes later, the first adjustment may register. This extremely long delay--and not all the adjustments I attempt even register with the system--makes it all but impossible to use.
I love Lightroom. The adjustment brush would be a great feature--it's probably the single reason why I upgraded to 2.0. However, the bugs have still not been fixed.
FYI, my computer runs XP on dual 3.19GHz processors with 4 Gigs of RAM.
Hoping Adobe will fix this,

Thanks for the "O" tip. It makes the mask visible. Unfortunately it still does not make the tool work correctly. Maybe with the next update . . .

Thanks for the tip on the nvidia cards. Unfortunately, I do not have an nvidia card. I actually tried to upgrade to an nvidia card. Called them, called Dell. Everybody said it would work. Card arrives and it's twice the size of the available slot. Ah well . . .

How to show Tool Tip to the XGlobe Component

I am new to the Xcelsius.I have an requirement and need your valuable inputs.
I am using the XGlobe component, in which i have used alerter on it, by using the pins. I have 200 countries to show on the globe. It is not possible for anyone to remember all those countries from the Globe component and click on that country and get the required value. I am using QAAWS to develop this dashboard
So to make it easy i need to show the tool tip on the pins of the Globe so that i can easily know the country name.
Please help me out on this.

Thanks for your reply, I have already used the text box to catch the values from the Globe.
But as there are too many countries (around 200) and everyone is not able to understand the geographical location of the country on the globe, so every time the user needs to click on the pins to get the desired country.
Is there any add ons or an external component which i can use with Globe or anyother way to show the Tool Tip.

Can thumbnails show tool tip/alt text in slideshow?

I would like the thumbnails in the slideshow to show the tool tip text or alt text on hover/rollver. Possible?
I have populated the image properties (tooltip and alt text) but they do not appear. It does work if you populate hero images but would be more useful in thumbnails as a selection method if you could see what you were selecting.

wondering how to do it in flex. In an HBox I have put a small image
and some text. I want if a user wants to see the full size image
and clicks on the small one, another window open with full size
image and close option.
I want to find out how to do it in Flex.

Tool tips not displaying

I am running AI CS3 on Windows Vista and my tool tips do not display. I have the option selected in my preferences and have restarted the system after install to see if that helped. No luck. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dashboard hangs up, widgets show but do not function

Dashboard suddenly quit responding. I can get the Widgets windows to show on screen, but the widgets do not work. Activity Monitor shows is as Not Responding and using essentially 99.9% of CPU. Any idea what's going on here?

This procedure will reset your Dashboard configuration to the default.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
defaults delete com.apple.dashboard layer-gadgets && killall Dock
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

Adobe Muse guide tool tip not visible

I can't see the tool tips from the guide. How do I turn these on so they are visible and I can use them? Now the only way to change section sizes is using the page properties.

Here the method to hide the toolbar is given. Try passing ABAP_FALSE in method: lr_method_handler->set_hide_toolbars( abap_false ) if it works.

SPAU list contains SAP notes with 'Unspecified Adjustment Mode'

I'm just completing an upgrade from 46c to ECC6 and I have reached the SPAU stage. In my list of adjustments all the SAP notes have the status of 'Unspecified Adjustment Mode' with a question mark. I think they should be either green, red or yellow to indicate what to do next. Is there something I need to do to get them into that state?

Seems like for some reason the adjustment mode job didn't finish... to restart it just click on the question mark and that should process it, then you will see a semaphore. the job can take a few minutes.

[URGENT!] illustrator rectangular tool is not working with adjusting the size!!!!

Other tools are working well otherwise the only rectangular tool has problem whenever I try to adjust the size.
I tried 'show bounding box(shift+command+B), but it's still not working.
Please help me with this problem and find attached pics.
The pics above are the captured screen we could find on PC, but on Mac the size is not adjustable. :-(

I am afraid you have come across the Live Rectangle bug which is limited to the MAC versions starting with 10.7 and 10.8, but not 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.10 (Yosemite). Hopefully, the bug will be fixed soon.
So a switch to Mavericks or Yosemite with a reinstallation might be the way to solve it here and now.
To get round it in each case, it is possible to Expand the Live Rectangles to get normal old fashioned rectangles, or to Pathfinder>Unite, or to use the Scale Tool or the Free Transform Tool.
A more permanent way round that is to create normal old fashioned rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

Tool properties - not functioning

The tool properties for "cloud", "polygon", and others, will not allow me to use the fill color function. How do i resolve this issue?
It was working at one time.

What does "will not allow me" mean? What do you see when you select the comment and press Ctrl+E?

Dreamweaver CS4 Properties tools are not displaying properly

I've had this problem for a while now and would really like to find a solution for this. My tools in the Properties screen are cut off on the bottom and do not fully display, whether I choose the HTML or CSS button on the left-hand side. Really annoying. Can someone help me fix this?
