CS4 - Uninstall and Reinstall, and/or Deactivate and Reactivate?

Greetings,
How to setup CS4 on my new iMac (late 2013) running Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.5 ?
The problems is this:
I recently transferred all of the contents from my old iMac computer onto this new iMac computer. 
I did this through the setup assistant that came up when starting up my new Mac. 
Before transferring the info (from a Time Machine backup), I did NOT de-install or de-activate the CS4 application on the old computer !
And then, when I went to start up one of the CS4 applications on the new computer,
I got a window pop up that reads:  “Licensing for this product has stopped working .... “  Error 150:30.

Even if I was prompted to activate this application on my new computer, I believe there would be an error anyway, as it would then be on 3 computers.
So, how should I proceed to have the copy of CS4 working on my new computer? 
What steps should I take?
Can I just deactivate the copy on my old computer and then somehow activate it on the new computer?
I have a feeling that I won't be able to do that.
Or do I also need to deinstall the copy that's on my new computer and then reinstall it?
I found a link to a similar discussion, but the steps related to OS X 10.7, and things are a little different.

Thanks for that information.  It's very helpful.
Am I screwed, in a sense, or would these steps make sense for me to follow to get up and running on the new machine?
1. Deactivate CS4 on the older Mac
2.  Uninstall all components of CS4 on my new Mac using the install utility in the folder: Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  From launching the installer utility, I see there's a checkbox option to keep application preferences.
3. Re-install CS4 on the new machine
And, are Steps #1 and #2  interachangeable in order?
