CS4 Upgrade - need plugin with features of ALAP InPrint

OK, so I have kept CS on my computer for many years due to a few key plug-ins by ALAP not being avail for newer versions. However, now I am at a computer upgrade and am hoping that by now some new developer has created a plug in with similar functions. Or if another user has a good workaround!
Specifically InPrint allowed me to print slices of large trade show display files directly from indesign. Also would miss InBooklet...... but there is lots of coverage on that topic.

For the printing-a-specific-recion-of-a-page problem, I have devised a solution. However, I have absolutely no experience with apple- or javascript, but I will list the processes needed.
User Creates a new layer, named 'print_area' (or similar), and sets it to non-printing.
On this layer, a rectangle is cretated and placed/sized into the area the user requires printing.
The script selects this new 'print-area' object.
The script grabs the W and H values of the print area.
The script then alters the page dimensions to this new value.
The print area object is selected again, and the top-left corner is selected as a reference point for position.
The X and Y values of the print-area object are noted by the script.
The script selects all the objects on the page.
(The script groups all the objects) -- Probably not nessecary
The script then subtracts the noted X and Y values from the X and Y values of all the objects on the page, consequently aligning the print-area object with the new document page.
(The script opens the print dialogue box)
(On close of the print dialogue, the script reverses / undoes all of these actions, leaving the original page.)
This almost definetly wouldn't work with multi-page documents, so there's no point trying with those. Apart from that, though, it should work fine.
