CS4: Use HSB as default color chooser

I've searched around, both the forums and the larger interwebs, and there doesn't seem to be a way to default to the HSB color chooser.  The "Document Color Mode" can be set to RGB or CMYK, and I realize HSB is just a way to think about colors that end up on the screen or printed, but it seems like there should be a way to work with colors in HSB mode all the time.
I think this could either be achieved by adding HSB to the Document Color Mode option, or at least if I choose HSB in a color picker, that color picker stays in HSB mode (persist the setting).
CS5 please???  Or maybe even better, some hack so I can do it in CS4?

Many have written about this for years and nothing is happening with this team illustaror still deaf. It seems to me that the problem is more in the archaic method of choosing a color than the color model. HSB is not you just get a more intuitive way for humans in the process of creation. Only later doing a color correction from the viewpoint of reproductive technology. But there is probably also an idea how to connect to simultaneously select colors using the HSB and at any time to see and control other industrial areas. Here, checked and according to me a very good idea of choosing a color other Corel Painter Programs that use only a professional is not illustartor.
Another reason for my disappointment Illustartora shoulder CS5 and willingness to buy.

    CS4 extended, OS10.7.5 . When I process an image in Capture One Pro  and then open it in Photoshop CS4 extended and compare to my original image in Capture I can see a big difference . ( Darker in C1 and flat in CS4)     I contacted Phase One and they said that the problem was probably due to photoshop who do not recognise my  Color Munki Display icc profile . How can I be sure that photoshop use my Display icc Color Munki Profile? Thanks !!!

    Hello Station_two,
    Thanks for you response.
    Yes . that's what I did as I created an icc profile with Color Munki .
    My problem is  when you look at the left image   ( Capture One )  and  the same images processed  and open in Photoshop ( Right image ) I can see a big contrast difference ...
    Now, let's assume that photoshop work automatically with my icc Color Munki  in display panel , why the image in  Capture One do not look the same ?  Is it a question of setup in C1 ? In c1 ICC /Process recipe  I have Adobe rgb (1998)  selected....

  • How to use single key to color a message in Mail.app?

    I would like to be able to color code a message's line in the main message summary window by pressing only a single key. In thunderbird, this is accomplished by pressing 1 to 5, each corresponding to a different color.
    Mail.app allows coloring a message, to my knowledge, only by bringing up colors chooser and then selecting a color (by default in a inprecise color wheel).
    How do a make "hot keys" for specific colors?
    thanks

    To answer my own question: Leopard and Mail.app don't suport this directly.
    What works is using Fastscripts Lite to bind application-specific hot keys to some simple applescripts.
    Here is one such script, modeled on an Apple sample script:
    using terms from application "Mail"
    tell application "Mail"
    set selectedMessages to selection
    set selectionCount to (count of selectedMessages)
    repeat with messageNumber from 1 to selectionCount
    set theMessage to item messageNumber of selectedMessages
    set background color of theMessage to green
    end repeat
    end tell
    end using terms from

  • Flash CS4 - Can I change the colors of the background or text that shows up in the Layers section?

    I am stuggling here!  I am colorblind.  I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.  I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.  It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.  I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.  Changing the text color would really be my preference.  How do I do this?   Please help.  Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products.  I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.  Now this!

    For Windows you can adjust your Theme (or download a new one and use that). This will alter the color of each layer, for example if you use Classic then it will use a very dark blue for layers that will provide higher contrast. I've downloaded other custom themes in the past that use a very dark grey for example.
    (By the way, for Mac users go to Appearance in System Prefs and choose a different Highlight color - you can choose a default or custom one. That color is used for the layer color).

  • German-Localized Default Color Labels

    We are working on an integration with Bridge CS3/CS4 that supports multiple languages, including German. However, since I do not have a German-localized version of Bridge, I am unable to confirm what the default Label names are. Does anyone have a German version that can list the default colors (Red, Yellow, Purple, etc.) with their corresponding Label values? I want to embed the appropriate XMP values externally, so that German users see the correct values for the default label names.
    I am cross-posting this topic in the Windows forum, too.
    Thanks!

    Davink,
    Sigh…   Obviously you don't speak a damned word of German, or you would have understood the attachment and the screenshot I provided.
    You also didn't read my post carefully.
    You asked about CS3 and CS4.  There are no color designations for either one of those versions in any language.  You need to to go back to CS2 for that.
    Yes, the English values for the labels are used as defaults in the German version until you change that in Preferences to whatever suits you.  Those values are user-configurable on the menu in ALL language versions, including the English version, through Bridge Preferences.  No native German values are even suggested.   As examples »Sonnenuntergang«, »Blumen« and »Tiere«  ("sunset", "flowers" and "animals" respectively) are given in the quoted instructions.  That's what the text and the attachment confirm, to wit:
    Zunächst verwendet Bridge fantasielos englische Bezeichnungen… (TRANSLATION:  As default, Bridge uses English designations in an unimaginative way…) für die Farben: Etwa Red für die rote Kennzeichnung, Yellow für die gelbe etc.
    The same principle applies to the Label designations in CS4 as per the screenshot provided above and repeated here:
    Your French translations will be meaningless and utterly useless the instant the user configures them to suit his purposes and workflow.
    davink wrote:
    though the only way to be sure is verify that you've installed on a German OS, rather than just change your Bridge language preference.
    Hell, no!  It's not the only way.  That's why I provided the applicable text and an attachment to shows you what the User Guide in German says.  Changing the language in Bridge Preferences shows you EXACTLY waht the German user sees on his German computer running a German OS.
    Anyway, I'm attaching the German CS4 Bridge/Version Cue Help file to this post (sorry, that didn't work; it's waaaaay too large a file) for me this exchange is over.  Good luck.

  • Can I change the default color of a calendar event?

    I have a couple calendars that will be using the overlay functionality in 2010, and chosing colors for the overlays is no problem.  However the main calendar defaults to green, and then when you open any of the overlay calendars their default color
    is green on their calendar but different on the main version.  Is there a way I can change the default so that either the main calendar doesn't show green (then each overlay owner wouldn't be confused), or to change the seperate overlay calendars to have
    their default match the selected overlay color?Denzel

    Hi Denzel,
    SharePoint 2010 calendar makes use of CALENDARV4.CSS file.  The default location of this file is [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\STYLES\Themable\]
    Search for .ms-acal-item element in this CSS file and make changes to
    background-color property to suit your requirement.  A trial and error method could allow you to achieve your functionality.
    CAUTION: Kindly make backup of your original CALENDARV4.CSS file, before making any changes.
    There is a good reference/sample of Calendar Styles by Heather Solomon for earlier SharePoint version 2007 here:
    http://www.heathersolomon.com/blog/archive/2007/11/20/SharePoint-Calendar-CSS--Clean-and-Condensed.aspx
    Additionally, please make use of Internet Explorer 8 Developer Tools (F12) to further explore the overlay calendar CSS.  Hope this helps.

  • How to get default color of a selected row in a JLIst

    I have a JList that I am changing the font color for based on a certian situation so I created my own MyCellRenderer to do this. However, when I select an item in the list the row is no longer highlighted. I used the isSelected method to determine if a row was selected and then change the background color of that row. However, I would like the color to be the default color that you get when you select a row in a default JList. I can't seem to figure out how to get that color. How do I obtain what that color is? I found an example where you can get the default color for the background of a button and use that color so I would guess it is something similar to that. My code is below so I hope someone can tell me how to get that color that I want.
    Thanks...Chris
    class MyCellRenderer extends JLabel implements ListCellRenderer {
         public MyCellRenderer() {
              setOpaque(true);
         public Component getListCellRendererComponent(
             JList list,
             Object value,
             int index,
             boolean isSelected,
             boolean cellHasFocus)
             int index1 = value.toString().indexOf("-");
               String errors = value.toString().substring(index1 + 1, index1 + 6).trim();
             int numErrors = Integer.parseInt(errors);
               if (numErrors > 0)
                      setForeground(Color.red);
                      setBackground(Color.white);
             else
                  setBackground(Color.white);
                  setForeground(Color.black);
             if(isSelected)
                  //ColorUIResource col = (ColorUIResource)UIManager.getDefaults().get("JButton.background");
                  ColorUIResource col = (ColorUIResource)UIManager.getDefaults().get("Button.background");
                  setBackground(col);
             setText(value.toString());
             return this;
    }

    I would like the color to be the default color that you get when you select a row in a default JList. I can't seem to figure out how to get that colorlist.getSelectionBackground();

  • Default Colors Limit for Graph in OBIEE 11g

    Hi, I'm using OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6.6)
    When I use a graph (either bar or pie), I notice that OBIEE only has 12 default colors to use in the graph. So it starts from blue, red, and so forth, until the 12th color, then for the 13th color it will use the same blue again, and so forth.
    The problem is that my column values are more than 12 (it could be 20, it could be 30, etc). So, the repeating colors doesn't make any sense for the graphs.
    Could somebody please advise me on how to increase the default number of default colors used by OBIEE (so that it will be like 50 default colors set automatically by OBIEE, just in case)?
    Thanks so much!

    Hi,
    type HexaDecimal colors in google you will find n number of colors with the code number, just use this color codes by adding# before every code in the column format properties.
    for ex: #ccc99
    Follow this follwoing link

  • How do I change the default color in pages.

    How do I change the default color in pages.  Everytime I try to copy and paste a passage, I am unable to do so because it seems that the ink is always white on white.  Sometimes I am lucky and can change it using the color box in the format bar, but it's a rarity when I'm able to do it.

    What version of Pages & what version of OS X are you using?
    A problem with an early Software Update for Snow Leopard caused a lot of problems. The problem is not whether or not your system is the current version but how it got there. You must use the combo updater, not the one from Software Update unless it specifically states it is the combo. Software Update will only offer the combo if your system is two or more versions behind.
    If you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '09 (or '08 if that's what you're using) folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.

  • Change Default Color Profile in New Image Document ?

    I've looked and looked, and even Googled.  Anyone know how to change the default color profile when you start a New image file?  In CS5 mine defaults to sRGB (Under the Advanced drop down) but my CS6 is ProPhoto RGB which means I have to change it manually nearly every time I paste an image copied via right click in a web browser.

    I think it the same on windows. If I copy things to the clipboard with Photoshop that the document profile seem to be used there when I do a paste there are no color issues.  However if I use Prtscn or Alt+PrtScn to capture screen content.  I'll see that the colors are wrong when I paste the clipboard into a new document if my default color space is not sRGB. Then I need to assign sRGB to the document to correct the colors.
    If I paste a screen capture into the current document the color can be very off and I will not get a prompt on the color mismatch. Therefore I don't think a screen capture has any profile associated with it. And of course the screen has a much lower resolution then the images I edit. So there is also a big size difference. Here is one scaled to 100% zoom after the paste. You can see both the color and resolution difference.  This capture was assigned to sRGB so you will see what the screen looks like after the paste and zoom to 100%.

  • Default Color  Problem

    I Have a small problem, that I need some help on ...
    I need to find the rgb value for the default background colors
    of Panels. I used
    new Color color = JPanel().getBackground();
    int red = color.getRed();
    int green = color.getGreen();
    int blue = color.getBlue();
    int alpha = color.getAlpha();
    Result is (r=204,g=204,b=204,a=255) ........
    Then When i try to set a Color of panel's background using these values
    I get slightly a different color. (same color but the its darker)
    new JPanel().setBackground(new Color(204,204,204,255));
    Please tell me Why is this ?
    I Really need to know the exact values of the default color .......
    Thanks
    Shirantha.

    I have the same problem when using Forte for Java IDE. When I
    create a swing component, its color is initially set to 204,204,204.
    At least, that is what it shows in the properties table. If you change it to another
    color and then later decide that you want it back to default and set RGB
    values back to 204,204,204 the slightly darker color that you mentioned comes up!
    I tried to trick Forte by editing the source code with an editor. I Compiled
    the program and it worked fine. The problem came back as soon as I loaded
    the class in the IDE again since the source file was re-built.
    Is there anyone who experienced this problem before??

  • How to Create a Custom Color Chooser/Palette with 16 or 24bit Color Support

    Hi All,
    I need some help on how to create a color palette/chooser with 16 bit or 24 bit color options available
    First setting up the context:
    I am developing an application which allows designing some GUI screens by adding various controls.
    Now these GUI Screens developed are compiled and downloaded into a series of display devices with each device having a different color support (For e.g. 256 colors, 16 bit, 24 bit and 32 bit).
    Now according to the selected device i would need to provide the "Color Chooser" with only those colors that are supported by the device. SO I need to design a Color Palette(s)/Chooser(s) with 16 bit, 24 bit or 32 bit color options
    Could anyone help me out on how to create such palette? A piece of sample code would be a great help
    Best Regards

    It is not that simple... reason I almost never use those old captions anymore but replaced them by shapes (much easier to format).
    Have a look at the available captions: for each caption you'll need a bmp and a fcm file, and follow naming conventions. See:
