CS4 version to CS2 version

Can we down-version an Illustrator CS4 version to CS2 version. Will there be any changes in the eps file.
When the eps file (down saved to CS2) is distilled to pdf and loaded in Illustrator CS2 there are many embedded images
(i.e vector images changed to raster images). What might have occured to change the vector images to raster images.

Why are you saving it as a eps and distilling that to make a pdf?
Why just not save as a pdf straight out of AI?
Do you mean your vector art becomes raster images?
Your raster effects probably were flattened.

InDesign CS4 version 6.0.6. and Mac OS 10.6.8

iMac 24 inch, OS 10.6.8, InDesign CS4 version 6.0.6. Since upgrading to 10.6.8, I can no longer print double sided. The problem does not exist with any other software I have Adobe or not. I have a HP LaserJet 2300dn printer with the most current driver installed connected to ethernet. The printer acts as if it is printing a double sided page, but what should be one page comes out as two pages.
Is there a solution to the problem?

There are reports of printing problems for some people (not me) under 10.6.8.

The 5D Mark III was first supported by Camera Raw 6.7 and 7.1 which is only compatible with CS5 and CS6.
So the CS4 will never be able to open Raw 5D Mark III files.

I use PS CS4 version 11.0.2, and C# to access Photoshop type library. Able to resize images when it is fine, but for corrupted images getting error/warning message "....truncated image continue or cance.." despite giving Application.NotifiersEnabled =
false;
Application.DisplayDialogs = Photoshop.PsDialogModes.psDisplayNoDialogs;
Can I avoid this error notification?
Is there any way using type library I can check the image given is truncated/bad?

Install CS6 Cloud App while still keeping CS4 Version

How can I install a CS6 Cloud App while still keeping the CS4 version that is currently on my PC. I just installed Adobe Acrobat and it got rid of my acrobat 9. I can't have this happen with my Adobe Illustrator CS4 due to an add-in that is not supported in CS6. Thank you.

Acrobat is one of the few (if not the only) products which replace earlier versions rather than installing alongside them.
Illustrator and other apps definitely install into their own folder alongside earlier versions so that you can still use earlier versions (for plugin reasons etc).
That's essential for apps relying on plugins such as Photoshop and in collaborative team situations where a mix of application versions being used by different team members on different computers and platforms is normal.

Upgrading to Indesign CS4, working in CS2

I am currently running Indesign CS2 and will be upgrading to CS4. I have clients who still need to open CS2 files from me and I don't have CS3 to continue saving down the inx file.
Do upgrades install independently, that is if I upgrade to Indesign CS4, can I still start up as CS2 and save CS2 files? I thought I read this somewhere, but I guess I need confirmation. I understand that I cannot save CS4 and expect to open in CS2. Just want a chance to work on select projects within CS2 while being upgraded.

I have the full version of CS2. My question is if I upgrade to CS4, can I choose to start a new document in inDesign CS2, work in CS2, and save as a CS2 file. That is why I asked if upgrades are installed independently, or if when I upgrade, CS4 overwrites my CS2 and I'm forced to always be working in CS4. I called customer service and received a rather "wimpy" answer which turned out to be incorrect.
I appreciate any feedback from anyone who has upgraded. thanks.

Is there a workaround that will allow a friend o open one of my CS4 files in CS2? Exporting it as an inx file apparently doesn't do the trick, because it'll only open it in CS3. Any help would be appreciated!

yes, they're all installed by default in totally seperate folders. just don't mix them up (like copying plugins from one to another).

Canon 60D files can't be opened in Bridge (CS4 version); Camera Raw 6.6 has key features missing

I am a Mac user (latest OS) and had been using Camera Raw from Bridge CS4 (part of my Elements 8 bundle) to edit my raw pictures from Canon RebelXTi. I upgraded to a 60D, downloaded the pertinent Camera Raw plug-in, but my raw files still wouldn't open in Bridge. I purchased Elements 10, thinking that would solve all problems, but apparently Bridge and Camera Raw are no longer part of the package! I downloaded the latest Camera Raw patch for Elements 10 (6.6), and I can now open raw files from Photoshop, but the Camera Raw version is not full featured and Bridge still can't open my 60D files. How can I get the full version of Camera Raw back AND have my 60D files opened? I deleted Elements 8, but not Bridge, and I can still open raw files from my Rebel in the earlier full version of Camera Raw. When I check in Elements 10 preferences, only Camera Raw 6.6 shows up, so that should be correct. Any ideas?

The full-featured ACR with Elements loophole has been closed in the newer Mac Elements, I believe. Us PC folks never had Bridge with Elements or haven’t for many versions, already , so have already been limited in RAW processing with Elements. Adobe finally “fixed” the Mac version, too, I think.
For full-featured ACR and Bridge you’re supposed to pay for Photoshop. Perhaps Lightroom, that is half the cost of PS, and has all the adjustments of full-ACR and you could still link PSE as a final editor step of ACR-type adjustments aren’t enough.
An alternative is to convert your CR2 files to DNGs and then they’ll open in older versions of ACR, like the one that came with PSE 8, assuming you can still install that.

CS4 version for my new Mac Book Pro

My lap top died so I purchased a Mac Book knowing CS$ would run on the Apple. I paid for the licence butr only have the Windows version. Help?

Unfortunately, you may need to buy into a newer version. in the past you could only trade platforms for newest versions of packages such as the Creative Suites. I am not sure how that works now the the Creative Cloud is the new kid on the block. They are still selling CS6 versions but that might be the last CS, and more bad news there is that CS4 no longer qualifies for upgrading to CS6 as of this past January.

Premier CS4 version 4.2.1 - High Def Support Gone!!!

I've been using Premier Pro CS4 for about a year now. Lot's of strange bugs encountered along the way, but I've been able to work around most of them with the help of this forum. Now I have a new problem. My support for high def files has completly dissapeared from Premier. An existing project I had been working on fine a few days ago won't work anymore - the high def file I was working with is not showing up in Premier. When I try to relink it to the source - I get a "file format not supported" error. So I tried re-importing and I get the same error when I select the high def file (AVCHD). I also tried creating a new project in Premier. When I do I notice now that AVCHD is no longer listed as an option in the settings - only DV is available. So for some reason it appears my high def support has just dissapeared.
If anyone could help explain this and provide a solution it would be much appreciated. Once again, I stopped dead in the water by another strange behaviour in Premier.

Sounds like your full-paid version has reverted to the trial. This has happened to several users.
The steps to correct it are:
1.) Deactivate the program. This is probably not available - grayed out.
2.) Uninstall PrPro
3.) Run Adobe Clean Script (now CS5) several times, rebooting between each run.
4.) Probably run a Registry cleaner, like CCleaner
5.) Install CS4
6.) Immediately update to CS4.2

Questionable CS4 version

I recently came across a company selling CS4 Web Premium for ~$600. I called them to inquire about how/why they were selling it at such a low price. They responded, saying that the software was fully legit, but there was a production mistake and the full version was inadvertently written to DVD's labeled as TRIAL versions, and instead of destroying them Adobe decided to unload them in to the discount market.
Now, I know that Adobe did issue trial versions of the CS4 suites...and that it is possible to upgrade those to full versions via legit activation. So I suppose it is also possible that they are generating their own keys and shipping them out with trial disks, but my understanding is that it would not activate unless the key is valid.
My question is simply... "Is it possible that this software is legitimate?"
Before you respond with "If it sounds too good to be true..." -- I would like a real answer.

Adobe does not unload defective disks (even if simply improperly labelled) to any discount market. That phony baloney comment should tip you off to a scam.
This company to which you refer is possibly selling trial CDs with an illegal "crack" program and/or with stolen commercial bulk and/or student bulk version serial numbers.
Deals that appear to be "too good to be true" generally are such! Being the customer of such goods doesn't excuse you from legal culpability for illegal use of the software.
