CS4 Where is Filter/Extract?

I know I used it in CS3 and the CS4 help says to go to Filter/Extract but it doesn't exist on my Filter Menu (using all Menu Items) and it is a 8bit RGB photo I'm trying to work on.
It's probably me but...
Oh. just realized it's an "optional" filter so I'll go find it (I hope). Is it optional because there something truly better?

They just put it in the shed while they think up something better.
You can install it, but it's still as clunky as it ever was.

Where is Filter Extract in CS4

I just upgraded to CS4 all the way from Photoshop 7.0 and am working through a tutorial that tells me to go to Filer>Extract to do a selection. That doesn't seem to be where the command is in CS4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know of an online resource that would be a quick reference for similar issues I'm sure will come up.

Photoshop CS5 can be run as a 64-bit application on Mac OS, 10.5.7 and higher. Because of the changes that were made to the application, some plug-ins are not available when you run Photoshop CS5 either as a 32-bit or a 64-bit application. To work with these plug-ins, run Photoshop CS5 as a 32-bit application, then when you are done using these plug-ins, return to working in Photoshop CS5 as a 64-bit application.
If you copy old plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop, or third-party plug-ins that are not compatible with Photoshop CS5, into Photoshop CS5's Plug-in folder, you may see different problems, such as errors or crashes.
If you have set the Additional Plug-Ins Folder in the Plug-Ins preferences to a folder, deselect this option, or make sure all the plug-ins in this folder are compatible with Photoshop CS5.
The easiest way to determine if third-party, old plug-ins, or plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop are causing problems is to move them all into a new folder called "3rd Party plug-ins."
If this folder is outside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, you can use the Additional Plug-Ins Folder Plug-In preference to allow Photoshop to access or not access the plug-ins in this folder.

To run Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS as a 32-bit application, select the Adobe Photoshop CS5 application file, installed by default in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder. Choose File > Get Info, and select Open in 32 Bit Mode. Deselect this option to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode.
To determine if a plug-in causes an error or crash, remove all old or third-party plug-ins from the Adobe Photoshop CS5 > Plug-Ins folder, and deselect Additional Plug-ins Folder in the Photoshop > Preferences > Plug-Ins preference.

Change where clause filter based on prompt?

I am trying to change my where clause filter based on a prompt selected. What I want to do logically looks like this - although it doesn't work as it is not valid case statement syntax:

Difference of 'Specify Fragmentation Content' and 'where clause Filter ' ?

What is the difference of ‘Specify Fragmentation Content’ and ‘where clause Filter ‘
As per my understanding Both looks like limit the data ?

'Specify Fragmentation Content’ is for Union-ing tables, e.g. one table has data for 2008 while other has 2005-2007, so 'Specify Fragmentation Content’ tells server where to go look for data.
'Where clause Filter' is for limiting data from the table, e.g. where status = 'Funded'

The extract filter was removed in CS4. Adobe says there are better options. They prefer edge detection as described below.
Edge Detection: The Extract filter was left out of CS4, although it was available as a separate install. (Rumor has it that the new Edge Detection feature wasn’t ready for CS4 and was pushed back to CS5.) While the Extract filter got a lot of bad press, it was really due to misuse. Luckily, Photoshop CS5 does a better job than the filter. Selection of complex edges, such as curly hair, has always been a problem. The Edge Detection setting is now part of the Refine Edge and Refine Mask dialogs. The feature is fairly easy to use: make a selection or a layer mask, open the Refine Edge dialog (Select>Refine Edge), and use the Refine Radius tool (E) to brush over the desired area. (There’s an Erase Refinements tool [just press Shift-E] in case you don’t like the results and want to try again.) In addition, there’s a Smart Radius checkbox with a Radius adjustment slider to make selections even easier. This tool makes short work of some tough selections, but it’s not for every image. I found it worked great on some images, but not others. You still might want to bone up on using the image calculations for advanced selections.

and even though the help menu said it is to be found in the filter drop-down
menu, it isn't there. Must I extract with CS2, save it, and then reopen it with CS5?

SQLEXEC not able to filter extract on sql statement or function call.

hi all,
i'm trying to do some basic extract filtering using a stored function and am not having much success.
i started off using a procedure call but have been unsuccessful getting that working, i've simplified
it to use a sql statement calling a function for a value to filter on, but cannot even get that to work.
i've read through the documentation and i cannot figure out what is going wrong.
any help would be much appreciated.

does not give any errors, but also does not capture any data, it's filtering everything out and trail files are empty, minus a header.

BC4J and UIX: Where to filter MessageChoice?

I have VO based on EO and table STUDY_PHASE (STUDY_ID, STUDY_PHASE_ID, STUDY_PHASE).
So when user logs into the system he/she chooses STUDY_ID and thereafter is able to visit other UIX pages. Some of the pages are UIX Input Forms and the user can select Study Phase from the MessageChoice Component that is 'sourced' with the StudyPhaseView.
My questions is where (not how) to do this in the code? What I did is parametarized VO with 'WHERE studyId = :1' and I am aware of the code:

I will try to be more specific. I have two VOs:
1. AssignmentVO (AssignId, AssignedTo, StudyId, StudyPhaseId). This VO is based on EO AssignmentEO with the same attributes and this EO is based on a table ASSIGNMENT with, again, same attributes. Clear enough?
2. StudyPhaseVO (StudyId, StudyPhaseId, StudyPhase)
There is no viewlink beetween these two VOs. I just need StudyPhaseVO to be my source for the MessageChoice. Here is where MessageChoice comes into the game:
I have a UIX page that is an input form for adding/editing Assignment information. So the page has entries for AssignId, AssignedTo, StudyId, StudyPhaseId. Actually the page HAS only two input fields (AssignId uses automatic DBSequence for the new records):
- AssignTo as MessageTextInput
- StudyPhase as MessageChoice (HERE IT IS).
I guess I can divide my problem into two:
1. I need to choose StudyPhase from the source view (StudyPhaseVO) and destination is actually TWO fields StudyId and StudyPhaseId which both are needed to passed to the underlaying AssignmentEO.
2. But my set of choices needs to be filtered by StudyId which has been selected in the table on one of the previous pages. I do have a ViewLink available to fetch the record and extract the StudyId.
The question is how and where in the code to use this StudyId so that when UIX input form opens, only filtered values in MessageChoice are displayed. If this is not clear enough please let me know.

How in filter extract attachments?

I want to make filter which will automatically extract attachments in special folder (for example c:\MyFolder).
In "The Bat" program i can do it easily. But in Thunderbird i can't find how to do it.
May be there are some plugins?

How to find the source of zfields in ECC where they are extracted to BI ?

There is one scenario to know from which tables data is picking for particular data source, which may helps you.
You need to open two ECC sessions.
1. Goto RSA3 T-code (1st session)
2. Goto ST05 T-code (2nd session) which is for trace analysis.
In RSA3 give your data source name and select few records before executing , go to ST05 screen and select the "Table Buffer Trace" checkbox.
And then press "activate trace" button and after that execute your data source in RSA3 screen.
After getting result in RSA3 screen then goto ST05 and select "Deactivate trace" button and then select "Display trace" which will show the trace list from which data is fetching.In this you will be able to see the source tables.
