CS5 12.1 not showing up in Automator Lion

I just converted to a MacBook Pro and am using Lion. I'm beginning to think converting right now with the launch of a new OS was the wrong decision.
In Automator, Photoshop does not show up in the Libraries Application List.
Is anyone else having this issue?
I have installed PSCS5 and the Photoshop Automator Pro 5.0 actions. The actions show up in the Libraries pane in Automator but there is no PS in the apps to support it.
CS5 is running fine on its own. I am running the demo version of PS until my hard copy comes in on Tuesday (did a platform swap).
I am praying someone has a solution.

They (Apple) are saying the same thing.....
WHY ARE YOU NOT ASKING ADOBE about this problem???? We have changed nothing....ya da, ya da, ya da.....
Mean While..........Adobe keeps changing stuff....and it stops working....Apple keeps changing stuff...and it stops working....WE KEEP PAYING for it.....

GarageBand v3 does not show up in Automator

Greetings,
I have been trying to create some sort of automation for my Church. We are recording teachings in GBv3. I would like to be able to do the following to make the process as simple as possible through two workflows.
First workflow:
1. Open a GarageBand project that already has a single track setup with the appropriate settings predone (essentially a template).
2. After opening, Do a "Save as" with a window prompt for the user to rename the project into the designated teachings folder in the ~/music/GB/teachings.
3. Set the track to record mode
Second workflow:
1. Save the current project.
2. Send to iTunes.
3. Quit GarageBand
4. Have iTunes convert the file to mp3 with 8bit mono, 8khz.
5. Quit iTunes.
6. ftp the new file to the designated directory on the website.
The issue is that Automator does not even show GarageBand v3 in the Applications. I have searched on these forums in both GB and Automator. I have seen references to the GBActionPack1.1, but the actionpack states that no installation is required, just put the actionpack in the same folder as GarageBand and the actions will show in Automator when you select GB in the Applications within Automator.
Again, GB does not show up in Automator. This is true on the newly purchased Mac Mini for the Church nor on my Home computer (PBG4 Dual 1.25Ghz, mirror door with OSX 10.4.10 and iLife '06).
Does anyone know why it doesn't show up in Automator? Is GBv3 a downgrade regarding Automator, because all indications show that GBv2 showed up in Automator.

I don't know for V3 but for V4 it works flawlessly (I mean automator recognize the plug...)

the text numbers 08 will not show up in mountain lion. i did a software update after i installed and it did not solve the problem.
Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Restart the computer.
Repair Permissions in Disk Utility.
Check fonts and clear out bad ones in Font Book.
Try in another User Account.
Any luck?

Calendar subscriptions not showing up in mountain lion notification centre

Has anyone else had this problem when your calendar subscriptions are not showing up on the notification centre. Everything seems to be turned on in the preferences but I'm not seeing any of my calendar subscriptions entrys showing up in the notification centre.
Please Help.

I had the same problem with my calendar subscriptions and notifications disappearing after upgrading to Mountain Lion (or maybe user error around that same time). Here's how I resolved the issue:
In Calendar application, click "File", and select "New Calendar Subscription". Paste your calendar feed address into the "Calendar URL" box. In my case, I was re-adding my TripIt calendar feed which looked something like this:
webcal://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/private/ABCDEFGabcdefg/tripit.ics

Photoshop CS5 help file not showing on German Win7

Hi,
I try to display the help file from within PS CS5 and that is not working. I can neither watch the community help online nor download it for offline use since the app seems unable to connect to a working online source.
It shows "The requested URL /de_DE/Photoshop/cs/using/AH_HOME.html was not found on this server."
All apss have been updated to the newest release, everything else is working fine.
I sue Win 7 64bit german, ps is also installed in german.
Any ideas?

PS CS5 and Bridge not showing correct colors

When I open up pictures in Photoshop CS5 and view them in Bridge, I see a really washed out color and the pictures look horrible. However, when bring them up in Pictureviewer or another application I see the correct colors. In PS the mode is set to RGB color like normal. Please help!

Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting it as a permanent solution, just a workable fix to get up and working again. Which is what I've always done - anything's better than those useless junk profiles that these manufacturers keep pushing down unsuspecting users' throats.
But it's true, some calibrators really are "silly devices" and in some cases you really are better off using sRGB. I've accumulated about 8 or 10 different calibrators over the years but if you ask me now I only trust two of them. Both especially and exclusively made for the displays they're used on.
Still, it never hurts to get into good habits early on. Your knowledge improves, your equipment improves, and you move on. The early takeaway for me was that it helped me understand what color management is and what it does - and where it does it. Pretty basic stuff, but nevertheless an important leap in understanding. A small step for a man and all that...

FW CS5 Tool Panels Not Showing

Hi,
When I load Adobe Fireworks CS5 it starts error-free and I can load and work on documents no problem. When I tab across to the "Align" panel or the "Color Palette" or try to use the "Auto Vector Mask" function, it comes up with a blank panel.
If I right click on the panel it says "Movie not loaded..."
Does Fireworks use Flash movie based tool panels? It seems like the software has lost the locations of these panels or perhaps they've been deleted somehow...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I've uninstalled the debugger, and Fireworks individually, and I've uninstalled the full Adobe CS5 Suite - then re-installed it all and I till have the same problem...
Surely i'm not the only one experiencing this issue...
On another note, a friend (with the same spec work pc) installed the flash debugger and his Fireworks install is fine.
I'm using Windows XP in case you were wondering.

AE CS5.5 Trial not showing all export options

I recently downloaded the trial to give it a shot on a project for school I'm working on currently but I've run into an issue. From what I've seen this version is supposed to have full export functions but the only types I'm given on my menus are Adobe project files. Is there an additional update to download that I could possibly be missing? I've used the update menu item which downloaded a codec update and a couple of others but I'm still unable to export. I plan on picking up the new version with student loans next semester but right now I'm working on a project I've edited in Final Cut and exported as a .mov and I need to burn this to a DVD after the effects are added but I cannot. Any suggestions other then downloading Premier as well? I'm in a bit of a time crunch so I was trying to avoid teaching myself 2 new programs but if that will fix my problem I might. I just don't want to download and install the whole thing just to find that I'm still unable to add these effects and burn my project or save in a format I could pull in to FCP. Thanks!

You don't want to "export" you want to "render". Read up on it here.
As someone new to AE, I would highly recommend you start here. The links it provides will get you through learning the basics of the program like rendering your finished files. (This is one of the tutorials it links to - this one is specific to rendering.)

Illustrator CS5.1 will not open on OS X Lion 10.7.5 - "Could not complete the requested operation."

Out of the blue, I can't get my Illustrator CS5.1 application to open. Instead the app icon bounces on the dock and the message "Could not complete the requested operation." appears.
I have tried restarting the application, restarting the computer, I have tried holding Command+Option+Shift while opening, I have tried various methods of editing the "Adobe Illustrator CS5.1 Settings" folder, I have tried moving other application folders and font folders, all without success.
The application is installed on a computer in my office and was installed as a downloadable upgrade to CS4. I was thinking a solution might be to install Illustrator, but I haven't been able to find a link to the CS5 program downloads.
Today I tried to get help from Adobe Customer Support, who informed me that they no longer support CS5 and directed me to the forums instead. Any solutions???

It was never completely clear whether it was just hidden or whether Apple ran a download page for iChat 6.
As the Download for Messages Beta was separate and "Deleted" iChat it would seem it would be another download for iChat 6.
iMessages will not function as it is only an Account type within Messages and iChat 6 does not have it.
Therefore messages on the iPhone will not sync to the Mac. (until you get Mountain Lion and Messages in that OS X version).
Mountain Lion and it's full version of Messages will not sync the iMessages that have happened in between the 14th December 2012 (end date of Messages beta) and the Install of Mountain Lion if you decide on that route.

Airplay Not Showing Up on Mountain Lion Menu Bar

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and cannot get the airplay status icon to show on the menu bar as shown in the Apple online help for Airplay.. Airplay does show up in my Mountain Lion iTunes and sees all my airplay devices (Apple TV's) and plays video and audio through them just fine.   Other Mountain Lion features, like the notifications bar on the far right seem to work fine and the notifications Icon appears on the menu bar.
This kind of ***** because we have been waiting to upgrade all our Mac's in the office so we can get rid of the cables in our confernece rooms and just use Apple TV to connect to our LCD's.
Did I get hoodwinked on this feature ?   Is it not really in Mountain Lion ?

Well, let me explain.
I run a software company. I LOVE Apple. I bought 80 macbooks and switched my whole development team off of windows. They all LOVE Apple products.
We think AirPlay was going to be very cool because we have meeting areas that have huge LCD's in them and we constantly use AirPlay to do UI reviews from the iPhone and iPad - - both of which we write software for.   We were pumped about AirPlay in ML to do the same thing.
There was a collective groan yesterday when we figured out what was happening.   It may have been announced a while ago, but it sure wasn't visible in the marketing promo material that's coming out.
I think Apple UNDERESTIMATED or MISSED the value this has in offices for eliminating cables. Maybe they thought it was a minor feature.    I don't know.
In the end I think the real issue is it uses too much CPU on the older machines and they were afraid it would cause some real warranty or support problems.
I just don't get why airparrot can create the same feature and it works great. No CPU heating, no system slowdown.
My personal guess is that it has to do with the encryption operation in some way - -which a lot of people wouldn't worry about.

Why is home sharing computers not showing up in iTunes (lion)?

Gmail Reminders not showing up in mountain lion

I don't have an iPhone, so all of my reminders (tasks) are in Google Tasks. When I setup my accounts in Mountain Lion on my MBP it says it will sync reminders, but I cannot find them anywhere. So is there a way to sync Google Tasks with Mountain Lions Reminders app, or does this just really not work?
I might switch to an iphone when the new one comes out, but for now I use an Android phone and so whatever I use has to be able to sync to my phone.

Actually the reminders app in both the iPhone and, it seems, mountain lion, can be updated via exange accounts (I know this for certain, other kinds of 3rd party syncing I can't speak for), but as yet google itself has not implamented task syncing through its exange service. It's very annoying as I use the google sync tools as an alternative to icloud.

Forward and reply icons not showing since upgrade to lion and cloud account

The forward and reply icons (the arrows) are now usually not appearing after an email has been forwarded or replied to by me. This all began after upgrade to Lion (no problem in snow leopard). Anyone know a fix? Spoke with apple on the phone, but they could not resolve the issue. Thanks

Assuming you are using Safari for iCloud.com....
Go to ~ / Library / Caches / com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash and restart your Mac.
Login to iCloud.com.
~ (Tilde) represents your Home folder
For LIon: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

ITunes shared libraries not showing in Mac OS Lion (but OK in Win7!)

I have recently bought my first Mac and so far everything is great. Except iTunes.
I'm still using iTunes on a Windows PC and I now have my iTunes Media all on a D-Link DNS-323 NAS.
I want to be able to listen to the same music (stored on the NAS) either on my PC, or my MacBook, or anywhere else in the home. So I'm using the NAS iTunes Server.
iTunes on Windows can see and access the NAS iTunes server no problem, but the MacBook (Lion) cannot even see it.
I also tried sharing my both my libraries on Windows (where my main iTunes Music Library was made over the years - now referencing media stored on the NAS) and on my Mac (the library is empty even though I've told it all my media is on the mounted NAS!). However, whilst Windows iTunes can see the (empty!!) Macbook iTunes library, the Mac again cannot see the Windows Shared Library.
So it seems my Macbook has a problem seeing shared libraries, regardless of whether they are on my Windows PC or the NAS drive.
Both the PC and the Macbook are running latest iTunes (10.6 on the Mac) and for the sake of testing, I have disabled ALL firewalls on the router (Huawei), Mac and Windows. So there should be nothing blocking the IP traffic across my home network (which is very simple!).
Any ideas on:
1) How I can get iTunes 10.6 on Lion to see my DNS-323 iTunes server
2) Or how I can get all my media in my Macbook's library without it fighting for control over my library with my PC

I have the same problem. REading some other threads, there is no obvious solution, other than perhaps that apple silently is suppressing Windows to enable more mac sales? I know, a bit rude to say, but that is the impression one gets if there is no simple/obvious solution despite the "Mac just works" reputation. If am wrong, I apologize, please direct me to the thread or faq that gives the solution, thanks.

Adobe Illustrator CS5 does not show PDF thumbnails when browsing

When I am browsing through PDF files to open one of them in Adobe Illustrator CS5 it does not show the thumbnail. When I am browsing in Adobe Acrobat it does show the thumbnails. If I have Adobe Acrobat open and am browsing through files and the thumbnails are showing then if I open Adobe Illustrator and browse for a file the thumbnail does show up.
How can I get Illustrator to always show the PDF thumbnails. I have to frequently browse through thousands of PDF files and it is imperative that I can see the thumbnail for these PDF files. I primarily use Illustrator to edit PDF files.
The computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. Thumbnails barely work when browsing files through Explorer. Some thumbnails will show, but not very many of them and it is extremely slow to load the thumbnails that will display.

So I am assuming you are talking about viewing the files using this method first:
To use the 32-bit version of Windows Explorer, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then click OK:
Drive_Letter:\windows\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate
Note The placeholder Drive_Letter represents the drive where the x64-based version of Windows is installed.
Please let me know if I am missing what you are saying here.
