Cs5.5 - OSX 10.7 CMYK ICC Profile not visible?

Hi
Hoping someone can help here.
IT department have installed a new Macpro into our prepress/design area using OSX 10.7 Lion with CS5.5 and now we are not able to use/see any of the custom CMYK ICC profile we use for printers - laser or epson wide format inkjet on any of the CS5 apps.  Prior to the new mac we had no issues as we were using 10.6.8 and CS4.  I have read through many forums and release notes regarding issues with Lion and CS5 but haven't found any reference to Custom ICC Profile issues.
The ICC profile we urgently need is for our Epson 7800 using custom stock for proofing - specifically supplied for our color management to output to Forgra39 standard.
Had a specialist come in and he's baffled as well.
Any help with this would be MOST appreciated.
Thanks Mike

The ICC profiles are not visible to Applications as Output profiles i.e. Printer profiles.  We have double checked the paths and they are correct and the profiles are installed.  but they do not show up in Indesign, illustrator etc as a printer profile... In fact no cmyk profiles (even those supplied from Adobe i.e fogra39.icc) show up.   When we open up colorsync we can see them but when we try any application to output to a cmyk print (laser or inkjet) the cmyk profiles are not visible.
any help much appreciated in advance
cheers Mike

  • Photoshop Elements9 - ICC profile not installed"

When I try to print a picture I get the error message "ICC Profile not installed"and the printer shoots out a blank page. . I have confirmed that when the image is saved the ICC profile box is checked. I have tried changing the ICC profile via "image/colour management". I am using Dell desktop running Win 7 with 4GB RAM and a Konica Minolta Magicolor 2500W laser printer but have the same problem with my Lexmark X5460 inkjet. Can anyone assist me to solve this problem please

    Thanks for the reply
The printer works well with my Serif Photoplus software and with other programs such as MS Word/Excel etc and has done for a couple of years
It is only since I downloaded the Photoshop Elements 9 trial that problems have started
I have checked out the web site you suggested but they only have ICC profiles for Epson and Canon inkjets.
I have checked the Konica-Minolta website but they do not seem to be of much help
I may have to reinstall the printer software or uninstall the Photoshop Elements.
Frankly I am not all that impressed with the black on black interface which gives me a headache and I find the Organiser difficult to work with anyway.
I will try again tomorrow and see if I can solve the problem. If not then I may well upgrade to Serif Photoplus X4 instead.

  • CMYK ICC profile support in Lightroom: Workaround?

Ok, I know this is not the first time someone has brought this up and I know that Lightroom doesn't internally support CMYK printer profiles, and I'm not expecting it to do that given that the documentation specifically says it doesn't work, and it in fact doesn't work.
I'm using OS X (Lion). I recently profiled a Lexmark C543dn color laser printer with a ColorMunki Photo and the profile works great with Photoshop's "built in" RIP/CMS/whatever, but I can't get ColorSync in the printer settings dialog to recognize the profile. If I use the ColorSync Utility to force the profile on the printer, it also doesn't work.
What I would have expected for colorspace conversions when printing (from lightroom for example) is something like:
Melissa RGB -> ProPhoto RGB (or sRGB, Adobe RGB, whatever, using internal lightroom stuff)
ProPhoto RGB -> LAB (using a generic ProPhoto RGB profile that comes with the system or the software pkg)
LAB -> printer native CMYK (using the custom printer profile I created)
    native CMYK data -> printer
So I don't understand why Lightroom or whatever application doesn't "tell" the printer driver that it's getting data in ProPhoto RGB (or whatever) at which point the driver should convert to LAB (or whatever PCS is specified) and then to printer native CMYK with the custom profile.
Does anyone know of a way to make this happen?

I'm not a professional, only a hobbyist, so it took me a little longer, but I also have the impression that the new Preview ignores ICC profiles.
I noticed it when moving images between my iBooks built-in and my external Eizo screen. Since the gamut of the second is much larger, images appear rather different on the two screens. In Tiger's Preview, this resulted in colors changing suddenly during the move, when the center of the image passed from one screen to the other. This effect is gone and yes, the images are over-saturated on the 'good' screen.
Jethro555, could you find a solution to the problem?

  • Icc profiles not recognized when using photoshop with 10.6.5

Ever since I upgraded to 10.6.5, Photoshop does not recognize the ICC profiles for different papers. The previous version of OS worked fine. How can I get 10.6.5 to recognize these profiles?

  • ICC Profiles Not Available in InDesign CS4

    Hello all-
I have a lot of ICC profiles installed on my system (OS X 10.6.2); some are in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ and some are in ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/.
They are not available in InDesign CS4, even though every other app (including Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat) see them just fine.
Is this a know issue/bug with CS4 and Snow Leopard? I don't recall having this issue on my old machine.

    A followup to this issue:
This morning I couldn't launch Illustrator CS4, it kept crashing at launch. Scanning through the OS X crashlog I noticed 511 "Iterative Profile" errors:
    ###  com.apple.ColorSync               0x91e1981d iterateProfilesInDirectory + 1020
I went into my /Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder and noticed there was now an alias pointing into Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/, which already contained an alias back to /Library/ColorSync/Profiles to get around the InDesign issue (as described above, which was working fine to this point). This created an infinite loop...
I did not create this new alias... any idea where it might have come from?
(Adobe needs to fix InDesign so it looks in the correct locations for profiles... the user shouldn't have to resort to manipulating aliases to enable profiles that are otherwise in the correct locations, and why do Adobe apps need their own profiles folder anyway????? As with their private Fonts folder, it does nothing but over-complicate matters...)

  • Icc profile not showing up in Photoshop

hi- I downloaded an ICC profile from an online printer that I want to use in Photoshop CS3 so my images appear properly for their output. I placed it in Library/Adobe /Color/Profiles and restarted Photoshop but it does not show. What am I doing wrong?

Ramon look, if it says the downloaded ICC profile is shortrunposters.icc and you place it in the folder listed as such and it appears like that when you look at it in the folder and then when you go to the actual profile list (which happens to be over 100 profiles) and you don't see shortrunposters.icc where the heck are you supposed to look and what are you supposed to look for?
It turns out it is Xentilcle version3.icc now how would I or anyone else know that? The creator of the profile originally said "you need to go to an Adobe site to find out the problem because it isn't us", well excuse me I think it was their lack of identification of how the profile shows up.

  • Icc Profile not working

    Hi,
This is on a 2011 macbook pro with mountain lion.  I have tried to use two new icc profiles, put them in:
    library-colorsync-profiles-recommended
and while they work in preview, and illustrator, they will not work in photoshop.  I go through the print dialog, with photoshop managing colors, select icc profile. Hit print, try to open pdf in preview, and it's all white (this only after blanks were printed out).  I have tried, tested, and no luck.
    Please help, thanks!

Ah-the driver is name is:  mcpd-mac-pro9000ii-10_68_1-ea11.dmg
First thing I tried to do is delete and re-download new driver, but no luck.

  • Softproof: some icc profiles not available

I downloaded icc profiles from a fine art print website and installed them.
In LR4 only 2 show up. I can't find the other ones even after multiple installs. What am I doing wrong? Or are the profiles corrupt? I'm on W7 64.
Here is the link to the icc profiles: http://www.theprintspace.de/uploads/Druckerprofile.zip

I've downloaded them.  Some are CMYK (in the CMYK folder).  Some of the others don't conform to the ICC specification, according to ColorSync Utility, although it was able to repair them so they show up.  There are probably copyright issues with me giving you the repaired profiles, but if you email theprintspace, they may be able to do the same.

  • How to edit in ACR when ICC profile not recognised?

    Hi everyone,
I am getting some of my photographic images made into a book by a large and reputable printer in HK.  They have just sent me their ICC profile and I've figured out how to do soft proofing in photoshop using the profile.
However, I do 99% of my images adjustments in camera raw, then only open the image in photoshop if I need to do something else camera raw can't do (rarely).
Is it correct that I won't be able to see how my photo will look when printed until I open the image in photoshop, after I've already done of my adjustments in camera raw, and meaning that I might have to do another round of changes in photoshop??
Is there any way for camera raw to load the ICC profile so I can see what it's going to look like while I'm making the adjustments in camera raw, not after they're already done??
    HELP!
    Thanks,
    Poppy

As I asked in the Photoshop Windows forum, what profile(s) have they sent you, along with what instruction?  A printer profile?  A document profile?  Both?
It may be that you'll want to work on your images in one of the standard document profiles (ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB, sRGB) then when you're ready to deliver images to the publisher you'll want to do a Convert to Profile operation.
But that's getting ahead of things.  You really haven't given quite enough information just yet.

  • Icc profiles not working in LR2.4

I have inserted 3rd party icc profiles in users/steveroake/library/colorsync/profiles. The files have .icc filename extensions.
When I go to the Print Settings button I can set the Color Matching to Color Sync and select the profile (it show up under the "Others"), and set the Printer Settings to "No color management" and all seems well.  However, when I print using the profile it is obviously wrong.
When I then go into Printer Settings the Color Matching choice is grayed out with Epson Color Control selected. I cannot change this unless I restart LR and the same sequence happens.
I ran the First Aid app in Color Sync and it did repair one file, but no change  -These third party profiles are shown in the users section in Color Sync.

  • Resource Profile not visible after recon under UI

    According to the blog,
    https://blogs.oracle.com/OIM11gR2/entry/oim11g_r2_reconciling_a_disconnected
We have tried a custom target recon.
The disconnected resources are not visible under user's account profile. Is there any specific reason for the same?
Also, the same is intermittently visible in some VM's even for disconnected resources and intermittently not visible for non-disconnected resources or both.
Checked the DB, the account details are present and is reconciled.
Can anyone help me understand why it behaved this way.
    Thanks,

  • Illustrator CS5 OSX 10.6.7 - Shift key not working properly.

The shift key no longer works as it should in illustrator ie. doesn't constrain proportions.
I've searched around for this problem and none of the solutions have worked. I have tried restarting my mac; closing all applications and reopening Illustrator on it's own; and I have tried deleting the preferences file. All to no avail.
    Thanks for any help.

Managed to solve the issue. I use chrome and even then there were no chrome processes running at the time. It turns out that it was FontExplorer X Pro; which I forgot that it opened automatically on startup. It seems I have to open Illustrator first, then FontExplorer afterwards; otherwise this problem happens.
Pain in the ass but oh well. Thanks for the help.

  • Printer Profiles Not Visible in LR4 Mac

Hey guys, just checking to see if there is something I'm missing.
Short version: My printer profiles are not showing up in the "choose profile" dialog in LR4.
Long versioin: I'm trying to print an image from LR4 to my Xerox Phaser 8560 using a custom color profile I created with my ColorMunki. However the profile isn't showing up in the "choose profile" dialog box. There is also no apparent way to open a dialog box to search for the file. The profile is recently created. Works in Indesign CS4. It's located in the main Library/Colorsync/Profiles/ and my user (~/Library/Colorsync/Profiles/). It doesn't show up even when checking the "include display profiles" checkbox which is the only option available.
    System: iMac 27" 3.4Ghz i7 16G Ram; Xerox Phaser 8560DN; LR 4.0
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks,
    Jason

You likely made a CMYK profile for the printer and LR doesn't support CMYK profiles. You'll have to remake the profile to be an RGB profile. ColorMunki can do that although it'll default to CMYK unless you override that...

  • Runtime Framework Profile not visible

    Hi,
I am not able to find the step mentioned below in cook book for CRM 5.0
    1.     Choose Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Customer Relationship Management -u2192 Interaction Center WebClient u2192 Customer-Specific System Modifications u2192 Define IC WebClient Runtime Framework Profiles.
Can somebody provide me with the tcode.
    Thanks ,
    Sanju

    Hi Sanju
The IMG path for that would be as follows:
IMG > Customer Relationship Management > UI Framework > UI Framework Definition > Maintain Runtime Framework Profile.
Please try to access it via IMG path rather than TCode.
Tcodes from 5.0 are not quite reliable in CRM 6.0.
    Here's an example.
For Account identification in CRM 6.0 the path is
IMG > Customer Relationship Management > Interaction Center WebClient > Master Data > Define Account Identification Profiles.
The tcode from 5.0 is CRMC_IC_BPPROF, which works in 6.0. You will see that at first look it seems identical but you'll find "Relationship" and "Object Components" missing from Dialog structure.
I have found several instances of such 5.0 tcodes. So access via img path is more reliable.
