CS5.5 Photoshop not launching in Yosemite.

All other CS5.5 working. Download of Photoshop CS5 demo will not take serial number for Creative Suite 5. Demo working OK but will run out of time. Adobe say they don't support CS 5.5
Scared to reinstall the whole CS 5.5 again as I am in the middle of several projects.
This is on a Macbook Pro.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

I apologize; I actually sort of fixed the problem - it was one font, one out of 1,600 fonts that was causing the problem. I took the computer to the Apple Store and the genius there tried everything but then suggested that I take all my fonts out of my font folder, then add them back a few at a time to see if I had a bad one. Sure enough. I took all my fonts out of Library>Fonts and it started up fine. I began adding them until it hung up - and it was a single font that was doint it. Works fine now. I'd suggested you try that first before hitting the panic button. I almost did what you're thinking about doing. the software was getting hung up on that single font and wouldn't go any farther.
Lion does not support cocoa and other old apps, files and languages, and clearly this font fell into that category (many of my old apps don't work either).
Sorry I didn't respond to this once I figured it out.

Photoshop not launching

I was using adobe photoshop7 on windows xp_sp2 platform. It was working good. Today it's not launching. When i click on the icon of photoshop, it starts innitializing like before, but finally it disappears by making me fool. from another new user account in the same windows, same photoshop is running fine. but why not from my usual old user account? I've uninstalled and reinstalled it but no change. i'm bored like a stupid. Please anyone help me.

Failure to launch can result from several causes:
The video driver could be obsolete, and need to be updated. What is the make and model of your video card (OS info would be helpful too), and what is the installed number and date of the driver?
Fonts that are corrupt, can cause hange on loading too. How one handles that, can differ by platform, so your OS info would be helpful.
There can be other issues too, but the above are sort of the "big two."

My CS5 HDR PRo not launching out of LR4

When I try to launch HDr Pro out of LR4 it opens CS5 but then does nothing else.
Also When I try to send files from LR4 to CS5 it asks me to update my Camera Raw but CS5 and LR4 say they are all up to date!
Please help? what more information can I provide?

I had a similar problem, it said a file could not be found (I cannot remember the file name but it ended with a number like 70). after trying a couple of times and having the same problem, I reset the overall preferences (launching photoshop while holding the shift alt command Key on a Mac) and then it worked. Save your workspace and color preferences before you do this, and you also have to reset all your general preferences

Parallel desktop 9 not launching in yosemite

Hi everyone (Happy new year)
I have recently updated to yosemite (from Mavericks) on a <1y old 15" MacBook Pro and am running into some issues.
One that I was unable to resolve is the not being able to launch parallel desktop.
I have parallel desktop 9 (version 9.0.23136.932290) and Yosemite (10.10.1) and do NOT receive any error message when attempting to launch parallels.
The same happens when I attempt to launch a program that only runs in parallels (I have windows 7 installed as my VM).
I would really appreciate if anyone can point me towards the solution.

Adobe AE CS5.5 will not launch on Mac

I just purchased the student edition of After Effects CS5.5 after having used the trial version with no problem. After install, it wouldn't launch--no greeting screen. Restarted, and tried to launch and got blue screen with total hang up of machine. Hard restarted and still won't launch. Bounces once in the dock and then holds still.
Here are the specs of my Mac:
OS X version 10.6.8
Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Is iGlasses causing the problem?
EDIT: Wait— FaceTime launched after a several minutes (I hadn't force quit it), but the iSight camera light did not come on, and the FaceTime window shows something I've never seen before— a large image of a camera lens with a series of small spectrum-colored squares arrayed along its top edge. Moreover, the iGlasses mini-window that appears beside it lacks images, showing just small reproductions of that same image of a camera lens.
NEW EDIT: I tried using FaceTime. I called a friend, and the audio worked and I could see him, but all he could see was that same camera lens image.

InDesign CS5.5 will not launch on new MacBook Pro

I have a new MacBook Pro and a new install of CS 5.5. All apps launch and run with the exception of InDesign. Trying to open a new or existing InDesign filr results in the spinning beach ball of death that can only be exited by a force quit; InDesign not responding. Anyone else experience similar? Any suggestions?

Photoshop CS4 will not launch after installing Yosemite. All the other CS4 apps open. I upgraded Java. Genius Bar could not get it to launch.

Here's the fix I found, by way of an explanation...
Snow Leopard prompted me on my first startup with the following error:
"There is a conflict with the _______ font file. This font file contains a font name that conflicts with a system font required by Mac OS X to display onscreen text. You should move this font file to the Trash."
The fonts it said were conflicting: Helvetica, HelveticaNeue.dfont, Lucida Grande, and Monaco. I figured Snow Leopard probably wanted to replace these fonts with newer versions, and so I clicked "Move to Trash" on all four.
Apparently 10.6 trashed these fonts but didn't replace them. This was causing Photoshop to crash on load.
So I restored my ~/Library/Fonts folder from a backup made just before upgrading and this time after a reboot I said "Allow Conflict" on all four dialog boxes and launched Photoshop... everything is back to normal!
Not sure what kind of "conflict" it's referring to, but apparently moving these font files to the trash as OS X prompted me to do broke a number of apps. Should I report this as a bug?

Photoshop CS5 will not launch

Photoshop CS5 will not launch either from the desktop or program list. The only way to launch is to log out and restart the computer. At the end of each session I reset the preferences in the Workspace. I am running Win 7 ultimate with 4GB of ram. System is 64 bit . Display is ATI Radeon HD 5700 series. Adapter type is AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x68B8). The computer has an Intel(R) series/3400 Chipset Family.
When I installed from the disk I received the message Exit Code 6, 0 fatal errors, 21 errors, 1 warning. I have reinstalled several times and still get the same message. Tried disabling start up items while installing but same message.

One thing that sort of jumps out at me, regarding running the program, is that 4GB of RAM. With a 64-bit OS, 4GB is just about the minimum to run the OS, with little to nothing left over for a program, like Photoshop. I would bump that up, and to 12 - 16GB, if possible.

I upgraded iMac to Yosemite, and my Adobe CS5 products (Photoshop, dreamweaver, etc) would not open. A message popped up saying I needed to load Java SE 6. The Apple Tech support person had me select all the Java folders and files in my library and delete the. I then downloaded Java 7. However, nothing happens when I click on the program icon. I went to reinstall the products, but the activation code was not valid (even though I got it off the Adobe site for my products with Adobe). I tried to install just one product (Illustrator) in the trial mode, but still nothing happens. How can I get my Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other programs to work?

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10

My Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10 nor does my Premier Elements 12. When I try to start them up I get the error message. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times its still the same. Strangely enough PSE 11 seem to work with Yosemite. I uninstalled my Premier Elements as well and it behave the same way. How do I get a new copy of Premier Elements 12 to reinstall?

Just to further test what is happening to my iMac on Yosemite is I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC and when I go to launch it it gives mr the same error message as when I try to launch PES 12 or Premier Elements 12. So whatever the problem is it involves all three and so upgrading to Photoshop CC doesn't even help. Could there be an Adobe file damaged or missing somewhere that is common to these and yet does not effect Revel and Lightroom?

Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
Plug-in installation instructions:
1. Close Photoshop Elements
2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
• For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
• For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.
