CS5.5 - Where is Mini Bridge?

InDesign CS5.5, running in WinXP. I don't see Mini Bridge on the Window menu, and when I shift-click on the Bridge icon, it opens regular Bridge. When I click the link near the bottom which says "Reveal in Mini Bridge", I get an error message: "Unable to reveal this document". Yes, I have Bridge open already in the background. Same error no matter what document I have open.
Has Mini Bridge been discontinued in CS5.5?

Eugene, of course I've thought of that. But the evidence points to something more inbetween: an incompatility between my systems (plural) and Adobe products only, with perhaps both at fault. The CS4 updating problem occurred on my previous system. For various reasons I trashed that computer and got a new one. The very first non-Microsoft programs I installed were the CS4 suite. Well, guess what? First AIR updates failed one after the other, then anything that needed AIR, such as Media Encoder, failed to update and then stopped working entirely. Photoshop CS4 failed to update yet again. I lived with it. I also wasn't alone. I checked the forums and saw louder moans than mine on this same issue.
If I was the only single user experiencing the issues of nonconnectivity of CSLive, and malfunction of MiniBridge, in every application, I'd believe it's my system's fault only. But I've found enough evidence on these forums and elsewhere that the problem I'm having, though not rampant, is not unique to me. That means there is still hope for a possible workaround.
If anyone has a suggestion for any kind of workaround specifically to install MiniBridge in its latest form for CS5.5 applications--other than reformatting my computer and hoping it maybe works this time around--I will be delighted to try it!
And by the way, Eugene, I genuinely appreciate your taking the trouble to post your various suggestions. Everyone else, too.

Upgrading from PSE8 to CS5, Albums, tags & mini bridge ?

Will my albums and tags from Elements 8 transfer to the mini bridge of CS5? Is there anything I can do to make this happen
or will I have to start over? Thanks!

If you find out the answer to this question, I would love to know. I have gone from PSE8 to CS5 and I am wanting to keep my albums and organizer. I am not sure how to do it in CS5.

Where is Mini Bridge

Hi guys,
I am new to Adobe Creative Cloud. I just installed Ps, Ai, and Id. The thing is I can't find the Mini Bridge panel where its supposed to be; under Extensions in the Window menu. In fact, the entire Extensions Menu option is disabled.
Can anyone tell me how I can activate Mini Bridge?

Mini bridge in cs4 &win7

we have cs4 which displayed minibridge
whilst we were using xp at the same time a seperate storeage device could be down loaded a file at a time these files were in nef format. the files came up as thumdnails
then i changed to windows 7 .64bit, i have now lost minibridge and allso the ability to down load from the external drive to a thumb nail formatt.what is even more confusing is if i put the card from the camera directly into the computer the thumd nail works but minibridge still does not show

Do you mean CS5? Beleive mini bridge was not in CS4.
There are a number of posts in the Photoshop forum on mini bridge. Might do a quick search and see it you can answer some of your question and the refine your question.
If you changed OS you may have to purge cache and let it rebuild.

Mini Bridge Layout Changes from CS5.5 to CS6

I recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6 on my work PC and I noticed a real annoying change with the layout of the Mini Bridge, specifically in InDesign. I was really hoping (and praying) that there would be a way to get the layout back to the way it was in CS5.5.
When the Mini Bridge is open the way it used to be was split at the top with the left side with favorites and the right side with a file navigator. The favorites portion was always there and did not disappear when you clicked on a folder, rather it just loaded the file list up in the bottom portion of the window. I REALLY miss that. Now in CS6 there is a drop down bar that is a pain to use and navigate through and when you click on the favorites (or any other option) it loads into the only navigation bar when you click on a folder it does not display the folders inside of it, instead just files in the folder.
Is there any way to get the Mini Bridge back to the original way? Is there an option I can click to get it to display the favorites list at all times and go back to the way it worked in CS 5.5?

I've found mini bridge is unusable when it is docked. If you float it then favorites is on the left.

Photoshop CS5 Mini Bridge Annoying Beep

I have an annoying issue with the Mini Bridge in Photoshop CS5, and I believe anyone could reproduce it if you do the following:
Open Photoshop CS5.
Have the Mini Bridge palette collapsed as an icon, docked somewhere (you can simply use the "Photography" workspace to do that).
Open anything, perhaps a new document.
Click on the Mini Bridge palette icon to open the Mini Bridge. Wait until it loads.
Then click on the same Mini Bridge icon again to collapse it.
Make sure your speakers are on.
Now press Space as you would do to pan around the document. You don't have to pan, it's enough to just press Space.
You will hear a beep sound, which you usually hear when OS X tells you that you're clicking an inactive window, or typing in a window that does not accept keyboard input, or in other similar situations. The beep will sound repeatedly while you hold Space down to pan around. It will sound each and every time you press space from then on, until you interact with the document using some other tool (like drawing something with the brush tool). Then the sound no longer happens when panning again.
The problem has occasionally happened to me when using other collapsed iconic palettes as well, however, I cannot always reproduce them.
This is a small issue that doesn't affect workflow, but having to click extra tools just to get rid of the beeping sound is very annoying, enough to make me not use the Mini Bridge.
I'm running Snow Leopard.
If anyone else can reproduce the issue, please post here. I can reproduce it every single time.

we're not in a very good situation to know what or when Adobe will respond. We know that they are aware of many bugs but since history is all we have, CS4 had only 1 update before CS5 was released and we've already had that same first quarter update. So, without any more information I can only assume that the next fix will be after CS6 is released.
I know that Adobe can't discuss future plans...... but what Adobe can and can not do is up to them. So if Adobe wanted to announce an upcoming fix they could ( and they have in the past ). I can understand keeping new product releases under wraps, but this is just a fix for something that .... well..... we have already purchased.

So, yes I have had the error sound set to "funk" and on very low for quite a while, which results in a low clicking sound.
Again, I feel like I need to repeat this, I like CS5, love PS, but some things can be better, and isn't that why we are all here. It just seems odd that you can purchase something today that has bugs but can't ask the vendor when it will be fixed?

Photoshop CS5 Issues & Mini Bridge Not Working In CS5

I have Photoshop Issues:
Mainly with copy & paste tools after a short period of time, tools start to function incorrectly for example.. Copy & Paste when working with identical images & wishing to select a part of the image to paste directly on top off the identical image they do not align up pixel by pixel I zoom a 100% in to see and ifs off shifted by 1 pixel out If I move it into place it jumps 2 pixels to the left and if I move to the right again 2pixels. I can't get it in the precise place
it normaly happens after Ive made a couple of pastes.. till I end up having to close & restart photoshop to get it functioning correctly. Is this a bug or am I using it indifferent.
Also the Clone stamp tool stops functioning after using the copy and paste tool after short periods. Example I copy then paste a selected part of the image back into the image then wish to the clone stamp tool to get the correct texture right.
And last issue is.. Mini bridge does not load I click browse images & it states "Waiting for bridge CS5.." ? Nothing happens

It's worth checking to see if the "jumping" problem you have is because Snap is enabled. Snap causes Photoshop to try to auto-align things for you, and can look much as you've described. Check the View menu to see if Snap is checked. If so, either uncheck it, or hold the Control key down when you are moving things that you wish to align without snap.
Also, keep in mind that with the Move tool selected, you can "Nudge" a layer by one pixel at the current zoom level by using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
Can you list specific steps to reproduce the Clone tool failure? It might also be helpful for you to capture your screen showing the current state of the image, layers, and settings at the time you're seeing the Clone tool fail to work as you expect. You may have a setting wrong that someone will be able to see.

Mini Bridge not working in CS5

I cannot get Mini Bridge to work in Photoshop CS5. When I try to start it, the panel opens and the spinning symbol starts but I get the message "Waiting for Bridge CS5..." and it never makes it past that. I have tried both with Bridge already open and Bridge closed, no difference. "Start Bridge at logon" is checked in preferences. Any help will be appreciated.

CS5 Mini Bridge Opens Images in Windows Paint

Can anyone tell me how to open images with Mini Bridge into Photoshop CS5? I have both an XP and a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I just downloaded the update to the CS5 program I had already installed and now when I go to open a JPEG image in Mini Bridge it opens the image in a program called Paint. When I use Bridge itself, with the settings set to "Automatically open all supported JPEGs" it opens my JPEG images in Camera Raw (which is fine). Do I have to reset the Preferences in order to clear everything out and start from scratch or is there another workaround that someone can tell me?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. Should I then always keep the prior version available in the computer or uninstall the earlier version before installing the upgrade version? I don't recall having this problem in earlier versions of LR or Photoshop.
I will go ahead and reinstall both CS5 and LR3 after deactivating. Darn I was hoping there would be a workaround, but I have no idea what the previous file associations would have been or how to change them in LR. I sure did learn a valuable lesson though.

InDesign CS5.5 Mini Bridge hang

When I try to launch Mini Bridge within Indesign CS5.5 it hangs, giving a useless message "waiting for Bridge CS 5.1".
When I try to update Bridge CS5 it says the only update is a Camera Raw update and then fails to load it.
When I run the Adobe Support Advisors it says there are no problems.

Mini Bridge in CS5.5 opens but doesn't do anything

I am running CS5.5 on a MacBookPro. When I try to use Mini Bridge the little gray panel opens up but there is no "browse files" button, I can't open settings, I can't search, I can't do anything with it! Bridge works works just fine. I am including a screen shot of my MB window to show what I am seeing. I have tried everything I could think of including restarting Bridge and PS. Is there something else I need to try other than a complete reinstall of the App, which I will not do just to get MB to work.

I'm back to this discussion because I have never solved the problem. Today I uninstalled and reinstalled PS. I trashed preferences, checked to make sure Switchboard was working (it is), and have decided that my mini bridge extension is broken. Any place I can go to download a fresh copy? The window is dead. Even the settings selection doesn't bring anything up.

Mini Bridge in Ps CS5.1 is empty

I don't have CS5 currently installed. I'll show you in CC. There is no mini bridge in CC 2014. Mini Bridge is an extension so you can use menu Window>Extension>Mini Bridge to open the Mini Bridge Panel. If the bridge is not running in the background you should see a button in the mini bridge panel you can use to launch the bridge. Once up the mini bridge pabel should function.
