Cs5 64bit issue

I just got photo shop cs5 extended. I am running a computer with windows 7 ph 64 bit, when I run pscs5 64 when I load a image all I see is the checkerboard back ground, butwhen I click on the background of the workspace it shows the image have to use the magnifiing glass to do this, but when image size is changed it shows the checkerboard again. It seams to work ok in 32bit mode. Is there a setting I need to change or is this an install issue?

Update your video card driver from the GPU maker's web site -- it has some serious bugs.
Temporarily you can turn off OpenGL drawing in Photoshop's preferences to avoid the bugs in the video card driver.

  • How do I install my plug-ins in Photoshop CS5 64bit

Can't seem to install my plug-ins that I have been using in Photoshop CS3 and CS4.   Mediachance, Nik, onOne,  Alien Skin, Photkit, Fluidmask, Fred Miranda, etc.  They all work in CS3 in Win 7 Pro 64bit, but do not show in CS5.

I tried CS4 and CS5 on my old Hp (32bit).  CS4 was OK, but nothing to write
home about.  CS5 could not support my plug-ins as well as CS4, actions did
not work well in CS5.  I ended up having to keep CS3 extended active.  When
all else fails I use PS 7.  Ended up dumping the entire CS4 Design Suite
Premium.  As it turns out I should have dumped CS5 and Kept CS4 Active.  I
do not like having to use the automate menu to access plug-ins that were in
the Filters Menu or added pull down menu bar (extensis/onOne menu bar).
Also do not like the very small text for the Pull Downs. CS5 apparently does
not support the onOne menu bar.  I dumped CS5(64bit) later today.  Installed
32Bit CS5.  It’s a real shame I can not use the full performance features of
this performance laptop (Quad Core, 2GB discrete graphics, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz,
SSD/Hybrid drives) with CS5.  Had to process a photo shoot today and ended
up using DXO Optics Pro.  Really very unhappy with CS5.  The few
enhancements vs. the dysfunction of CS5 are not worth the cost.  Sure glad I
did not go for the full Design Premium upgrade this time.  The accumulated
cost/value of all my plug-ins by far exceed the value of the CS5 upgrade.  I
just may go back to my Corel Apps on my MAC.  Can not afford to purchase
(once again) all my Plug-ins.  Nik , Alien Skin, and onOne are grossly
    overpriced.
Sorry to RANT.  Just not happy with CS4 and CS5.  I have been using
Photoshop since the version 4 release.  The best releases were PS7 and CS3

  • Photoshop CS5 & (64bit)

Using Photoshop CS5 with Windows 7.
If I open my photoshop cs5 from a desktop short cut I get it from Programs Files/Adobe/Photoshop CS5 (64bit) which will not work with some of my old plugins,
Having placed a short cut of the other photoshop cs5 onto desktop which opens from Programs Files (x86)/Adobe/Photoshop CS5, this has my older versions of plugins stored.
What I wish to do is to be able to right click on an image and open it with  Adobe/Photoshop CS5. at the moment if I right click on an image I only get one choice PS CS5 64bit.
I don't wish to use the default setting as this will only allow me to open my image in first instance in PS, at the moment I prefer to open in windows media so I can make my mind up what I wish to do with the image.
    Any ideas please.

The only thing I can think of to try is only one PS can be open at a time so if you want to open an image in PS-32bit then open PS-32bit prior to right-clicking and opening in PS, so that right-click-open will use the existing PS-32bit you’ve already opened.  If you want things opened in PS-64bit then make sure no PS-32bit is open before choosing to open in PS.

  • CS5 64bit - top of HDR filter window cut off

When I open the HDR toning filter the top of the HDR controls window is always hidden under the top edge of the screen.  I can't reposition the window.  This is in CS5 64bit.  When I make the same actions in CS5 32bit and in CS6, the whole of the HDR filter window is visible in the normal way.
How can I get to see the whole HDR controls window again in CS5 64bit please?

Looks like you're seeing the compressed version of the dialog, made for small screens.
I take it you're not seeing an OK button over on the upper-right, even if you move the dialog to the left?

  • Photoshop Cs5 64bit Middle East urdu writing problem

    hi
i have win7 64bit and i install PS cs5 64bit but i not support urdu then i install 32bit then then it work but why 64bit version not work with urdu language properly

I don't condone the problems, but a workaround I've recently read about for the copy count problem is to do the following, in order:
    1.  Set the copy count you want.
    2.  Click the Print Settings... button to enter the printer driver setup dialog.
    3.  [OK] out.
    4.  Print
This is reported to get the proper copy count into the print driver and make it "stick".  I just tried it and it seems to work.
Keep in mind you may want to go through this again after printing to get the copy count to default back to 1 for the next print.

  • Photoshop CS5 64bit Directory Problem

I have recently tried re-loading my CS5 (64bit) software on to Windows 7 (64 bit)
My problem is that CS5 ALWAYS loads into the 'Program Files' Directory and not the correct one 'Program Files (x86).  This is depsite me altering the various areas to direct the loading to the correct area.
Bridge CS5 ALWAYS goes into the correct directory.
I have tried everything that I can think of to sort this out.  The only thing left is to format the HDD and start again!!!!!!
Can anyone help correct this problem??

That was a mis-understanding on my part; this has now been corrected. I am
    new to 64bit!!
The problem started when the attached message came up.  Irrespective of
where Photoshop is loaded this message comes up and Photoshop will not
    start!!
I wonder if there is something in the registry that is causing this????
Text version of the error message is as follows:-
    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.6161_none_08e61857a8 3bc251\MSVCP90.dll
is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try
installing the program again using the original media or contact your
system administrator or the software vendor for support

  • Photoshop CS5(64Bit): "You don't have permission to save to this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission."  I am the administrator and I give myself permission. What can I do to save the file?

Photoshop CS5(64Bit): "You don't have permission to save to this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission."  I am the administrator and give myself permission. What can I do to save the file? This is the user's PC, licensed PS CS5 software and Win 7 OS.

Temporarily save to another folder, until you figure it out.
Just because you are the owner and are the sole administrator, does not always guarantee that you have permission. There are several folders that you can not access no matter how hard you try. As for folders in your document folder, it is more likely a basic permission setting that took on permissions of a copied file. Some folders and files are set to a child/parent default setting, meaning the child folder/file (the one you are accessing) has the identical settings of its parent and when the parent changes, so does the child.
You can alter the parent or the child folder/file.
Right click on the folder/file select properties.
    Click on the security tab.
Click on each of the group names and see what permissions are set.
You can then edit a group if necessary.
If it will not allow it, you may need to use the advanced button to create a new copy of the group which should happen when you alter its settings (In other words, you don't have to physically create the copy, it does it for you when you OK the changes)
The administrator should have full access to the folder in the documents folder, if you are listed as an associate of the administrator group your name should also be listed there with full access. The System should also have full access.
All other groups should have reading access only if they exist.

  • After effects / Premiere CS5 64bit

After effects / Premiere CS5 64bit unable to load. It's giving me error "runtime error this application has requested the Runtime...."
I've exhausted all possible options and i'm quite frustrated right now. I've reinstalled my Win 7 64 bit and reinstalled the application numerous times however the same fault keeps on happening.
I've reinstalled new drivers for my GeForce 8400 GS. still no help. Please help! Others which is running 32 bit (flash, fireworks, dreamweaver....) is working fine. Only those which is 64 bit, premiere, after effects is giving me this error. Please help me.

    Erm...
    GeForce 8400 GS
Highly doubtful this card is usable in any way much less certified by Adobe - not only is it old to begin with, but it's also one of those trimemd down models from the budget tray. It might at best work, if you removed OpenGL support from AE compeltely, but Premiere will remain problematic. Also this seems like a clear indicator that your computer is 5 years or older and in that case, your processor may simply not be compatible which would apply to several Core2Duo types, some AMD processors and Pentium 4. If you think your processor is compatible regardless, then it may need a special driver/ patch/ DLL, so check and install that...

  • Encore CS5.1, Issue burning onto 8.5GB DL DVD using WIndows 7, 64bit

Is anyone familiar with the inability of Encore CS5.1 to burn 8.5GB dual layer disc using Windows 7, 64bit.  After many failed attempts, it turns out that you need to set Encore as Windows XP compatability in order to get the disc to burn.  Is this just a glitch with Windows 7 + Adobe Encore CS5.1?
The problem with changes the compatability on Encore is that you lose the dynamic link with Premiere Pro CS5.5.
Any other suggestions on being able to burn without changing the compatability of Encore?
    btw, 4.7GB DVDs work fine.
    Thanks,
    Gianni (JohnQ)

To burn dual layer you MUST right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator from the popup window... this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account
I think you can select to "always" Run as Administrator from that popup window

  • PS CS5 64Bit Vanishes!

I would normally call it a crash "but it seems different"
NO ERRORS, NO MESSAGES, NO NOTHING..
I work in 64Bit PS... usually on large format artwork.. files as large as 500" X 120" @100 dpi..
When working in the 32bit version.. NO ISSUES..
    When working in 64bit...
I will be going to "SAVE" a file... and WHILE NAVIGATING the file manager... "clicking into folders" or "creating a new folder"
The entire program just vanishes... in a split second... This happens maybe once or twice a day..
    What I have done..
    1) I tried adjusting the OPEN GL settings to "BASIC"
    2) I insatlled the new update to Photoshop 12.. sumthin'
    3) and I also updated the display drivers to latest version..
Any thoughts? Losing a HUGE HUGE project with no chance of saving is terrible.

Bah, I thought I was onto something, because I had been able to complete the same edits on the same image 4 times successfully where I
hadn't been able to do so before, but it just failed again (this time with a crash when trying to open the same raw image again after saving and closing).
Could be two different bugs I suppose...  It did take a lot longer to reproduce the problem.
Here's a detailed edit log of what I did:

  • CS5 trial issues with ram and content aware issues.

I run a vista 32 machine with 4 gigs.  I have tried just about everything including running the machine in minmum and loading only windows and adobe CS5.  I still get the error of "Could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM)".  I have tried playing with the performce settings and GL settings to give adobe as much memory as it needed but it is still not working.
I am working with a file that is 6.49mb which is the average of what my raw file convert to when I download them from my camera.  Now the only way I can get it to work is seriously downgrade the file in size and then the content aware fill works great or decrease the area that is going to be filled.
So am I missing something or do I have to convert everything over to 64 bit and throw 8 gigs in this machine to get this to work with those tyoe of file sizes?
    Thanks

Hi again everyone. I tried the original solution of turning off OpenGl support in preferances and that worked for me. Granted there are still some problems.
    To recap:
I have an Intel Core i7 processor with 4GB RAM and Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit (didn't want to go down the 64bit route for compatability issues with other programs). Because Adobe do not support the Canon EOS 5D Mk II in CS3's camera RAW I upgraded to CS4 (that's were things began to become unstable). CS4 was flakey at best. Nice new feel (when it worked). Now I am no dummy when it comes to computers (I run my own IT company as well as photographic business - they kinda compliment each other). After loading CS5 (mainly for content aware feature and hoping it was a bit better than CS4 turned out to be - like most of you on this forum) the neat feature that Adobe had been raving about didn't work as advertised.
Back to where I am up to now. I will not turn this into a Mac vs PC debate since we have aldready had earlier, someone with a "brand new MacBook Pro" complaining of the same issue. I can state that, of all the systems I work on with Windows 7 (which is alot), the only one I am having major issues with is my own. And the only piece of software giving me grief (if you saw my two screens you would have trouble counting the apps on my system), is Photoshop CS5! After turning off OpenGL I can now stitch 12 or more RAW 5D MarkII photos with no problem, generating a file 938MB in size. The first time I did this I still had to original files open and it would not let me do any content aware modifications. Fair enough. I closed all the source files, flattened the layers to produce a single flat layer to work with and then tried content aware. "Not enough memory". I had to bring the file down in size to under 50MB to get it to work on any decent sized area. Now I don't want to have to go out and buy "Blow up" to renlarge my photos because Adobe can not get their memory management working! Lets be clear about this. This is not a Windows problem. Photoshop assigns its own memory, its own scratch disk and interfaces with the Graphics card. So if I assign 1.5GB of memory to Photoshop, 400GB as a scatch disk and have 1GB of video memory why does it still have issues with a 50MB file!!!! Piss poor programming!
Here are my issues. I was sold on CS5 due to a brilliant (if not misleading video) that showed "content aware" at work on Adobe's web site. There was no mention that I would need a super computer or 64bit operating system to work its magic. On purchasing the product as so many of you have discovered it does not work as promissed. In two days of posting to this site I have not seen one representative of Adobe making any comment as to even if they are working on this issue.
Please ADOBE, you big multinational software company, PLEASE make us feel better for having purchased CS5 and not let it be the big white lemon it seems to be.

  • Adobe bridge cs5 64bit - HELP: photoshop plug-ins doesnt work

Hi to all this is my 1st post since its my 1st time to have a problem with adobe. My problem is that i selected a number of images and tried a batch image process thru Tools > photoshop > image processor. After clicking nothing happens. I also tried the other plug ins like HDR, Batch etc but nothing seems to work. I went to the directory folder and all of the plug ins are intact and in the " plug-ins " folder. I also updated everything just now but still no luck. What happening here, please help me out. Thanks
    Dex

"Reveal my scripts folder" is to reveal the user's folder for costom scripts, not public scripts. If you have no custom scripts like you developed yourself and want to load it into Bridge, then the folder is empty.  It's normal.
The issue seems not plugin but scripts installed by Photoshop not working. Could you please let me know the version of Photoshop and Bridge:
    Photoshop: Help>System Info
    Bridge: Help>About Bridge
You mentioned you updated it 1st time, you mean update PS or Bridge?  Could you please send me via private message the install log of update? You can find it here:
    Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.*
    Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.*

I have recently upgraded to windows 7 64bit and CS5. My printer is a Xerox Phaser 8560. I cannot print any vector art from any creative suite program. The print preview is correct but when it prints, the image is small and on one side of the paper and a second blank page prints right after that. I did not have this problem with my previous XP and CS4. I have went to Xerox and downloaded the right printer driver for windows 7 64 bit and even upgraded my firmware. The only way I can print correctly is a bitmap. For instance, when I print from acrobat I always have to have "print as image" checked. It prints correct in photoshop too, It seems it will only print bitmaps from CS. Anything from Illlustrator, Indesign will not print correctly. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Please HELP! I cannot find any resolutions.
    Thanks
