CS5 64bit Scripting Error

Hi,
Not every time, but quite often, PS CS5 crashes ('Encountered an error and needs to close') when I try to do something which uses scripts, like:  Save Comps to Files, Image Processor or Merge to...
There was a question related to this in July, but it wasn't answered, and it concerned 32bit, in WinXP.  I run Win 7, 64bit.
In Windows Events Log I find the following info:
Faulting application name: Photoshop.exe, version: 12.0.1.0, time stamp: 0x4c255ce6
Faulting module name: ScriptingSupport.8li, version: 10.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4c25616d
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000eea83
Faulting process id: 0xffc
Faulting application start time: 0x01cb83c454a59b71
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Extensions\ScriptingSupport.8li
I compared file 'ScriptingSupport.8li' with that file in another installation, and they were identical.
In the thread in July, it was suggested to remove all Adobe apps and reinstall them. It is not something I'll gladly do, and the OP tried it and it didn't solve the problem.
Any help will be appreciated,
Moshe

Hi Tazayoot94,
From the log I see you are getting "Error 1935".
This is a MSI error.
You can try the solution from the doc : http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403969.html

  • CS5 Photoshop Scripts Error: Export Layers to Files...

    Hey Folks,
    I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why I can't use the script: Export Layers to Files...
    I am recieving this error messages in my attempt:
    I have ran the Adobe updater and made sure everything is current.
    I restarted my magic toster twice after the update.
    I even tried a basic psd with 2 layers in an effort to determine if it was the working psd file itself... No luck.
    So I am convinced now that there may be a bug.
    Does anyone have any insight or workarounds for this solution?
    Thank you all in advance.
    John

    Jeffrey,
    Thanks for your response.
    It's the original script that shipped stock with CS5.
    Get this...
    I switched from 32 bit mode back into 64 and restarted the program.
    Opened my psd and tried again...
    No error this time, but this is what I get:
    Nothing!
    So racked on this one dude...

  • Script error message when printing google maps driving direction into PDF

    My system; Win 7/ 64bits/IE 9 both 32 and 64 bits/Adobe Acrobats 10.1.1. Pro
    Intial problems in printing web sites into PDF files has been resolved when I upgraded into 10.0.1 after having installed IE9.
    However, with 10.1.1. version, I noticed that when I tried to convert google maps results for a driving direction (From A to B), script error message showed up and I could not convert it into PDF. I tried both IE 9 32bits and 64 bits version, but both failed to do it. Please fix the problem for the next updates.
    Thanks

    You might try running CHKDSK on the disk to where you try to save the file. You might have a corrupted file directory or a damaged track on that disk. I urge you to backup what you can before trying this.

  • Tons of Script Errors and Slow Redraw

    I recently setup CS 5.5 with Bridge 4.1.0.54 on a new MacBook Pro.
    When I launch Bridge I get the following messages:
    I'm confident of a few things. First, it's obviously somewhat related to this issue:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3083307
    Second, it has nothing to do with CFS or Samba shares.
    Lastly, the error has something to do with the output module script- if I startup without it on, no errors.
    Currently I have my MBP setup with two drives. A SSD for the system software and a second SATA drive for content. All my system software is on the SSD boot drive, however, my users folder is split between the two. Everything but ~/users/xxx/library is symbolicly linked on the second drive.
    If you look closely at the thread referenced above, all the errors are the same except for the "could not create" error. In the thread, it lists a specific user, my error lists Volumes/Null/...
    Here is what I've tried so far:
    Reset the app
    Trashed the prefs
    Started up w/o scripts
    reinstalled the entire CS 5.5 Suite after Uninstalling and using the cleaner tool
    To add insult to injury, When the output script is off and bridge does load, it does it painfully slow to the point where it is not usalbe. It is also having a ton of redraw issues.
    Any advice?

    I think I may have found a workaround.
    I've been racking my brain over the past few days to figure this one out. I've tried at least a dozen permsissions fixes, both through the apple utility and manually. I've reinstalled both bridge and CS 5.5 three times using the cleaner script and a fresh install. NOTHING.
    So I went back to the original error message:
    One thing I noticed was that everytime Bridge was starting, it created a folder in /volumes called "null". I checked three other macs setup the same was as mine and NONE of them created this folder during bridge startup.
    I still have not figured out why my laptop is doing this.
    However, I looked at the error and it seemed that bridge was looking for a path that didn't exists, which was /volumes/null/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS5.1/Adobe Output Module/Mediagallery
    the path Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS5.1/... is the same path as my ~/library/application support/... folder for adobe.
    First I created a regular alias to that folder to create the fake path. No dice. Then I tried a symlink to creat the fake path /volumes/null/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS5.1/Adobe Output Module/Mediagallery
    Voila. Worked like a charm. I can now start up Bridge without any errors, script errors, etc. I also have all the functionality of my Output panel back and I'm able to use it without getting the insufficiant disk space error.
    Now to figure out why Bridge is creating a "Null" folder.

    tejo11,
    Script errors like this can happen with IE and while uncommon are not unheard of. With the print and scan doctor coming back fine we can move to troubleshooting the browser where the error originates. If you would like try using a different browser as a temporary workaround and use this microsoft guide for troubleshooting the script error you are getting: http://goo.gl/k7aTU
    Best of Luck!

  • Keep getting java script errors in DW CS3

    I have been using Dreamweaver CS3 and had not had problems up to last month or so. Now I keep getting Java errors and java script errors whenever i try to put a file to my site or even on some task boxes that have undefined in the command box instead of the normal command. I am wondering if downloading product again could help but i worry about licensing problem. It seems like there is no support for CS3 Dreamweaver.
    I resent the fact i may have to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS5. IF I do can I just upgrade Dreamweaver and not the other programs as part of the web design suite? My last upgrade was the CS3 web design suite.
    Gary

    Thanks for the suggestion, I followed the links and instructions and still have same problem. Very frustrating as I cannot get any phone support, actually i was told Dreamweaver CS3 is not being supported anymore, and I was directed to this forum.
    Kind of makes me not like Adobe and I am going to search for another web building program. Once I calm down I may consider just upgrading to CS 5 Dreamweaver. Do I have to upgrade the entire Web Design suite or can I just upgrade Dreamweaver?
    Another option is to try and reinstall but I worry I can run into licensing problems (I think I ran into this before as destop and laptop crashed and had to reinstall).

  • Scripting Error 16389

    We've got a script developed by an old IT person that works fine in CS3 but of course, fails miserably in CC.
    'Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS3")
    Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application")
    Set activeDoc = myInDesign.activeDocument
    For Each tFrame in activeDoc.TextFrames
      cText = tFrame.Texts.FirstItem.Contents
      pos = InStr(cText,"[email protected]")
      if pos > 1 then
      fillFrame(tFrame.Texts.FirstItem)
      end if
    Next
    Function fillFrame(curFrame)
      orderNbr = replace(activeDoc.name,".indd","")
    ' orderNbr = substring(0,activeDoc.name.Length-4)
      fixedOrderNbr = orderNbr
      do while len(fixedOrderNbr) < 8
      fixedOrderNbr = "0" + fixedOrderNbr
      loop
      SQLstr = "select unnamed_11 from ""PartsDB"" where unnamed_0 = '" + fixedOrderNbr + "'"
      set ad = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
      ad.ConnectionString = "DRIVER={Pervasive ODBC Client Interface};ServerName=AMOS_SERVER;ServerDSN=AR"
      ad.Open
      Set rs = ad.execute(SQLstr)
      custNbr = trim(rs.fields.item(0))
      SQLstr = "select bill_to, add1, current_route_id from ""QCust"" where cust_id = '" + custNbr + "'"
      set rs = ad.execute(SQLstr)
      cName = trim(rs.fields.item(0))
      cName = makeSentenceCaps(cName)
      cAddr = trim(rs.fields.item(1))
      cAddr = makeSentenceCaps(cAddr)
      cRoute = trim(rs.fields.item(2))
    That's most of it. The error pops up at line 24.
    Windows Scripting Error!
    #16389
    Error String: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.
    Engine: Default
    File: c:\Program files\...\Fill Out Proof Box.vbs
    Line: 24
    Given it works in CS3 I know the Data Source is correct. Apparently, CC has changed the way it deals with ODBC connections? I dunno...
    Any thoughts on a solution?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    This does not sound like an InDesign problem. Even though the name starts with "ADO", the ODBC access is part of Microsoft's ActiveX Data Objects subsystem. Connection Object (ADO)
    As you are so sure about your CS3, is this the very same machine and OS installation where CS3 works?
    Have you verified with any other ODBC program that the connection works on this machine?
    You get an error from the "Microsoft ODBC driver manager", therefor I assume ODBC itself is installed correctly.
    That "Pervasive" driver could still be missing - maybe you just need a 64bit version?
    Even then, the driver may have a problem to resolve the AMOS_SERVER (different WORKGROUP, directory server and so forth) or miss some credentials implicitly stored on the other machine.
    Much guesswork as I use a Mac most of the time. I'd suggest to post the problem also to some forum with focus on Microsoft VisualBasic.

  • Scripting error when using 64 bit internet explorer

    Could you please give me a solution to the following:
    Laptop  HP Pavillion dv7-3112sa  Windows 7
    Printer  HP Photosmart B209
    Wireless connection Netgear DGND 3300 v2
    When I use internet explorer 64 bit and try to print, I get a message "Scripting Error" and it will not print.
    This is OK on 32 bit.
    I cannot update my HP software because I lose wireless communications altogether and have to do a restore to get it to work again.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Scripting errors are related to how the website behaves with a browser.
    In this case, it is printing script that is having an issue and it appears to be with the 64bit Internet Explorer since it works fine with Internet Explorer 32bit.
    Review this article from Microsoft regarding this issue.
    You have already found the best resolution to this issue:  Using 32bit Internet Explorer.
    64bit web browsing is still a very small portion of web sites and very few fully support the 64bit browsing experience.  I highly recommend using a 32bit web browser for viewing websites as this will give you the best compatibility as every website still supports 32bit browsing, but not all sites are fully compatible with 64bit browsers.

  • Script Error at launch since recent upgrade to CS6 & features missing

    After many failed attempts at getting all of the programs in CS6 Design Premium installed, I was finally able to with the help of the "Installing" forum.  Unfortunately I am still having problems with InDesign.  When launching I still get the script error:
    Error in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS6\Flash\Flash-12.0.jsx
    Line 153: if( app.name = = flashAppname && (module.name = = 'DefaultScript' II module.name = = 'Flash'))
    Cannot open resource file.
    Also, I am still missing Effects features under the Object drop down menu. Any ideas?  I am able to open files that have "effects" in them, but am not able to edit the effects at all. I am hoping someone can help me out.  I have already ran a Adobe Support Advisor log and from what I have been told it checked out fine.  Here is the thread:http://forums.adobe.com/message/4727814#4727814

    While the log might not indicate a problem, I think the error message and missing effects pretty much says otherwise.
    I don't like to say this, especially since you had so much trouble getting this far, but I think you need to uninstall and reinstall, and I'd run the Clean script, befor the reinstall: CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3
    That said, though, I'd try a last-ditch effort at a repair first. Try running MSconfig and turn off all non-essential startups and services, which is pretty much anything non-microsoft. I leave my mouse driver running, but it isn't necessary. Be sure that you've turned off anti-virus and malware scanners, instant messengers, iTunes, and any brower helpers or toolbars. Reboot. If you wind up back in MSconfig, press cancel to continue in diagnostic mode.
    Run the installer. Wheter it would be best to uninstall ID, the reboot and run the installer again (still in diagnostic mode) to reinstall, or to just run a "repair" is probably a toss-up. I don't think eihter one is going to thoroughly clean the registry the way the cleaner tool does (but as far aas I know, that's gong to remove the entire package, not just ID, so we want to avoid it if possible). I'd probably try the reapir first, as it's faster and if it works, great. If not uninstall, reboot again, and reinstall.
    Once finished with the installer, run MSconfig again and check the "normal startup" box and reboot.

  • Photoshop CS5 64bit Directory Problem

    I have recently tried re-loading my CS5 (64bit) software on to Windows 7 (64 bit)
    My problem is that CS5 ALWAYS loads into the 'Program Files' Directory and not the correct one 'Program Files (x86).  This is depsite me altering the various areas to direct the loading to the correct area.
    Bridge CS5 ALWAYS goes into the correct directory.
    I have tried everything that I can think of to sort this out.  The only thing left is to format the HDD and start again!!!!!!
    Can anyone help correct this problem??

    That was a mis-understanding on my part; this has now been corrected. I am
    new to 64bit!!
    The problem started when the attached message came up.  Irrespective of
    where Photoshop is loaded this message comes up and Photoshop will not
    start!!
    I wonder if there is something in the registry that is causing this????
    Text version of the error message is as follows:-
    C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.6161_none_08e61857a8 3bc251\MSVCP90.dll
    is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try
    installing the program again using the original media or contact your
    system administrator or the software vendor for support

  • Photomerge Issues - Script Error Auto allign not possible

    Ever since I upgraded to Photoshop CC , I have been unsucessful in Photomerging. I receive an error  Script Error cannot autoallign all images. I have tried merfing on a panoramic program and  experience no problems.
    I have also tried auto alligning using Photoshop CC using diffent images from different cameras and receive the same script error
    Any ideas would be appreciated

    What OS are you running?  32 bit or 64 bit?  How big are your source images and how many do you have for a given pano?
    I just did a 360 degree pano that ended  up 25689 x 1850 pixels (after cropping) from 17 raw Canon 40D images, all handheld while standing in different spots around the Clingman's Dome observation tower in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  Photoshop CS5 standard 64 bit on Windows 7 x64 with 8 GB RAM didn't have any problem at all with it, though it took about 10 minutes or so to finish.  The result came out astoundingly good, even though the slight changes in perspective should have been challenging.
    http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/temp/ViewFromClingmansDome_NPS.jpg
    If you don't mind my asking, what do you do with hundreds of panoramas?  It's an difficult image format to find uses for to say the least.

  • Script error print from win7 64+ IE9 email + web sites to o jet 4500 wireless

    when printing to Officejet 4500 wireless E mail or from most web sites running  win 7  home premium 64bit and IE9 dose not print and gets a script error or just dose not print but print works fine from word or any other program using wireless or USB

    It appears that the issue is isolated to IE 9 since it works from everything else.
    View Microsoft's You receive a script error and are unable to print from Internet Explorer 9 document regarding this issue.
    Windows 7 64-bit has two versions of Internet Explorer:  32bit and 64bit.  Check to see if you are using the 32bit version or the 64bit version.  This can be done by clicking the blue circle with the questions and selecting About Internet Explorer.  If the version line does not specify 64bit, then it is 32bit.  I recommend using the 32bit version as 64bit web browsing has not quite taken off yet.
    The document from Microsoft says to ensure the drivers are the most recent.  The most recent drivers from HP for the Officejet 4500 and Windows 7 64bit can be found here.
    I recommend using one of the workarounds listed in the document as script errors are typically a result of a compatibility issue with the site and some function of the browser (whether an add-on or bit version).

  • After effects / Premiere CS5 64bit

    After effects / Premiere CS5 64bit unable to load. It's giving me error "runtime error this application has requested the Runtime...."
    I've exhausted all possible options and i'm quite frustrated right now. I've reinstalled my Win 7 64 bit and reinstalled the application numerous times however the same fault keeps on happening.
    I've reinstalled new drivers for my GeForce 8400 GS. still no help. Please help! Others which is running 32 bit (flash, fireworks, dreamweaver....) is working fine. Only those which is 64 bit, premiere, after effects is giving me this error. Please help me.

    Erm...
    GeForce 8400 GS
    Highly doubtful this card is usable in any way much less certified by Adobe - not only is it old to begin with, but it's also one of those trimemd down models from the budget tray. It might at best work, if you removed OpenGL support from AE compeltely, but Premiere will remain problematic. Also this seems like a clear indicator that your computer is 5 years or older and in that case, your processor may simply not be compatible which would apply to several Core2Duo types, some AMD processors and Pentium 4. If you think your processor is compatible regardless, then it may need a special driver/ patch/ DLL, so check and install that...
