CS5 and ACR not same color

In order for my monitor to match my prints that I receive from my lab, I need to "desaturate my monitor" by 15% in the color settings tab. I was previously working in CS2, and when I opened up an image in ACR in CS2, adjusted my image, then opened it in Photoshop.......the color was the same. (I'm assuming that my "desaturate monitor" by 15%, as well as my calibrated screen were all working together. Now, I have upgraded to CS5. And, now when I open a RAW image into photoshop, it is coming in "desaturated" from the ACR screen. Any idea why it's not looking the same, like it did in CS2???

Color Synchronization works between applications, and works to synchronize color workflow choices.
But not all of the applications have exactly the same color features.
The "desaturate" option is specific to Photoshop, and is really a bit of a hack designed for experts to deal with large gamut colorspaces. Most people should never have to use it.
If you aren't using application specific settings (like desaturate), and have the settings matching/syncrhronized - then the color should look the same across the Adobe apps.

Color in both Bridge CS5 and ACR look yellow.

The color in my images are all yellow. I've seen some posts but so far no answer to the problem. Can anything at all be done to fix this problem. It it very, very frustrating. Because it's so yellow I cant use ACR for anything at all. Please help

Ok, for anyone having this problem with both Bridge cs5 and ACR. Here is what solved my problem. All images were looking yellow both in bridge and Camera Raw, so after I did a back up of my harddrive as a System Image all problems were gone! I have no idea what happened, but now the colors are just fine. The problem corrected itself. So, there you have it. Problem fixed.

Save as a PDF and print the separations out of Acrobat.

PS CS5 and Bridge not showing correct colors

When I open up pictures in Photoshop CS5 and view them in Bridge, I see a really washed out color and the pictures look horrible. However, when bring them up in Pictureviewer or another application I see the correct colors. In PS the mode is set to RGB color like normal. Please help!

Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting it as a permanent solution, just a workable fix to get up and working again. Which is what I've always done - anything's better than those useless junk profiles that these manufacturers keep pushing down unsuspecting users' throats.
But it's true, some calibrators really are "silly devices" and in some cases you really are better off using sRGB. I've accumulated about 8 or 10 different calibrators over the years but if you ask me now I only trust two of them. Both especially and exclusively made for the displays they're used on.
Still, it never hurts to get into good habits early on. Your knowledge improves, your equipment improves, and you move on. The early takeaway for me was that it helped me understand what color management is and what it does - and where it does it. Pretty basic stuff, but nevertheless an important leap in understanding. A small step for a man and all that...

Why does 3522 prints only in black and white not in color

my 3522 hp printer will print only in black not in color.i have new color carttridges #564 and the black is not low.any help would be appreciated.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve color not printing on your Deskjet 3522. If this does not resolve the issues please provide some further details - what is the operating system on your computer? Does the printer make color copies properly?

CS5 and CS6 on same Mac?

Is it possible to install both CS5 and CS6 on the same Mac or does CS6 overwrite CS5?

all adobe versions (including cs5 and cs6) of all adobe programs (except some acrobat apps) on both os x and win can coexist without problem.

Problem : Have Master Suite CS5 and CS6 on same PC... CS5 defaulting to CS6

I have a number of Premiere CS5 projects on my PC... I've installed a trial of Master Suite CS6 and all my CS5 projects are opening in CS6.. which I don't want.
Any suggestions on how I can have them open in CS5 again? I'd prefer to have the Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop files all open in CS5 if that is what I created them in. I've been told I can both CS5 and CS6 on the same machine without problems. Thanks for any input.

Premiere cs5 and message "not responding"

I Have a brand new i7 system with windows 7 64bit, 6Gb ram, gtx 280 graphic card, one ssd disk 128 gb (main)
and two hard disk 2 TB as raid, proper for video editing (sata II, 7200rpm), i use intensity pro as outpout card.
I am trying to edit with premiere cs5 and I use few AE project.
Unfortunately the programm is unstable, very often i have the message "not responding", especcially when I load
projects and when i try to save my project. Also the programm working very -very slow.
Help, can someone help me? Iam very-very-very dissapointed and iam thinking if i have to try another programm.........

i have installed 3.9.1 version and its seems to work properly.
I restarted the system.
I found that probably small projects (220 min avi ) work better instead
of the bigger projects (220 min avi video+10 AE proj+3 phd proj)
where the system frozen.
I think the problem is the volume of data transfer and the transfer capacity,
probably this is problem with the disk or partition?
Unfortunately I am not the expert about computers, basic electronics and
computers skills.
I wonder why cs5 worked properly when i worked with ouadro fx580 and
1tb hard disk (until 30 ayg 2010) and know -after the changes- with
raid 2 tb hard disk ang grx 285 graphic card the system ia almost
out of order.

So support tells me that my version is no longer supported and have to use creative cloud, that is not my way of doing things, To resume I have a few thousand bucks of programs that are obsolete? All the way back from the great Macromedia days, Flash, Dreamweaver, P Shop, Fireworks...etc..
Does anybody have a clue what my options are apart from this propriety enslaving system they call creative cloud ?

CS5 and ACR

I use CS5 but the ACR version is not suitable for Fuji X-Pro 1 camera..... my options seem to be either convert RAW files to DNG (extremley slow) or join Adobe CC. Anybody else with same problem and bright ideas would be appreciated.

You have 2 more options, purchase Lightroom or Elements. Lightroom is at the latest version of ACR I assume Elements is as well, but it is worth it to verify on the web site, before purchasing.
Adobe has a deal going on for a little while yet. I don't recall the last day of the deal, but it includes, photoshop, lightroom plus the cloud storage. That price, I think is close to the photoshop only option, so if you need to, thats the way to go. It ends sometime this month though, which is not very much time to think about it. But I thought I would throw that out there any ways.

Photoshop CS5 and CS6 not opening after Windows 7 update

I have my Mac on repair so I have to use Photoshop on a very old Windows 7 laptop of mine (the first PS licence I bought was for PS CS4 Win then extended to CS5 during grace period)
It always worked fine (slow but fine ) since today. I was updating a couple of softwares (Intuos + Spyderpro) and I have been asked to restart my computer to make the updates effective. I've noticed that Windows during the restart was updating itself as well and I said "well, ok!" and let it go. But once my computer had restarted I couldn't open PS CS5 anymore. Desperate I went to the Adobe trial pages and downloaded CS6 but it doesn't work as well. I tried to repair some log errors via CC cleaner and delete PS preferences from its folder but no luck. I don't know what else to do. Bridge works fine. I don't understand what happened and how to solve it.

My first inclination was to recommend just reinstalling, but since you said you did a new install of CS6 and that isn't working either I'm not sure if that would help. The user preferences was also a great thing to try.
These might be some other general suggestions for good next steps:
- Try launching with right-click Run as Administrator
- Create a new administrative account, log out of your current one, and attempt launching from there
- See if you get the same behavior if launching while in a Selective Startup

- Uninstall any changes you made since it stopped working, you should be able to uninstall the Windows update from within Programs and Features, uninstall the Intuos + Spyderpro temporarily to rule them out

PS CS3/CS4/CS5 and Snaplab UP-CR10L color calibration question

Sorry for the bad screen name, but after getting 20-30 (name in use) messages, I decided to go for RANDOM characters, and IT WORKED!!
Anyway, here is my inquiry.....
I have all three PS versions mentioned above, on an Intel Mac, and recently picked up a Snaplab event photo printer, UP-CR10L. It does 4x6 and 5x7 dye sub prints. It is geared toward kiosk type printing, but can be printed to from the computer. I may well use it printing from a computer, and by simpll"plugging in" the CF card directly, depending on circumstances. My primary issue at the present is when printing from PS however.
What is the best procedure for making sure the printer produces "what it should" when printing from PS? Can it be calibrated with the X-Rite Studio calibration hardware/software, or is everything "internal" so that it will print "what it thinks is right" irregardless of what user "wants" it to?
I ask because Sony ( the manufacturer) has been of very little help in this inquiry (I have gone through multiple support desks, and have gone full circle (A->B->C->A) several times. Although there is mention of a color profile for the later model of this printer (UP-CR20L), I can find nothing on THIS specific model with regards to the best ways of doing color management.
Oh, and as additional "side issue" with CS5, you also see this in the printer setup, but ONLY in CS5
"The bundle UP-CR10 PrintColorSetup PDE Could not load because it doesn't contain a version for the current architecture"
There are apparently NO new drivers for this printer beyond what I am using, and it is running the latest firmware (3.5).
Any and all thoughts, suggestions, or rants will be greatly appreciated.

A CF card is for Compact Flash used in pro digital cameras like the Nikon D3.
With this "specific" printer I am unsure of the available calibration options. There does not appear to be a way (in Mac anyway) to disable the printer handling color corrections (which PS specifically tells you to DISABLE) when you have "Photoshop Manages Colors" selected. I guess that has me "second guessing".
Maybe I had too many years in the QA department....I was always looking for "what something could be interpreted as " vs "what the author actually intended".
Oh.... and the 32 vs 64 bit suggestion did make that odd error go away...of course it caused ANOTHER Sony software addon for this printer to "fail to load".....even though it DID LOAD before ....

ACR not saving color profiles when saving out to TIF...

The Players:
ACR 4.6, PS CS3, Mac OS X, MacBook, Nikon D200
The Problem:
ACR does not seem to be saving my color profiles when I work on my Nikon D200 NEF files. After saving them out as TIFs and opening them in Photoshop CS3 - files read as "Untagged RGB" and the colors are definitely way off from what they were saved as in ACR. Frustrating!

You need to update your Photoshop to version 10.0.1 ASAP. You're also two versions behind in the OS; 10.5.6 is out.

To trash Bridge prefs, hold down the Option key as you relaunch Bridge, then check the boxes in the ensuing dialog box.

Can I have Masetr Suite CS5 and CS6 on Same PC ?

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum for this post... wasn't sure where to post it.
I currently have Master Suite CS5 on my PC (windows 7) Can I install Master Suite CS6 and try it out on the same PC? Will there be any problems if I decide to keep both and use them one the same PC? (running only one version at a time of course) Any potential conflicts?
What about Lightroom4 and 3rd paerty pluggins (Nik software etc)?

Yes, spearate versions, separate installs. You can have them both at the same time. just be aware that file associations will automatically point to the latest version. plug-ins will have to be updated. Even attempting to use some CS5 plug-ins in CS6 is ill-advised. LR4 is a separate program and has nothing to do with any of this, so its plug-ins will not have any influence.

HP C309a Alignment Fails and Will Not Print Color

Hello,
My C309a has had very light (infrequent) usage. It simply will not pass alignment or print in color. Could these two problems be related? I do like this printer as it does print on printable CDs/DVDs and as far as I know there are no AIOs on the market that do this. Would anyone please help?

new or old 564/564XL should all work on older printers (printheads) made before September 2010. Maybe the printhead is for newer models? and the new cartridges have an older date? Anyway, check the date on the cartridges, if the date is later than 9/2010, they should work, and I would suggest you return the printhead if no color is printed. If the dates on the cartridges are older than 9/2010, maybe the printhead is for newer model, I would try get newer cartridges or have them replace with the correct printhead.
