CS5 and Flash Pro CS5.5 fail to install on OSX 10.7

I have Lion OS X at an intel core 2 duo macbook air. When I had Snow Leopard, I have installed Adobe CS5 sucessfully, and then removed it because of storage issues. Now I can't install neither CS5, nor Flash CS 5.5. The first one is the dvd image of the original dvd (since its an air) and the Flash came from adobe downloader. The error is the following:
The Setup encountered an error(10) during install. Please restart the machine and try again.
- The OSX Lion is an update from the old version, not a clean install.
- I have runned AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool already, there is nothing to be removed.

Thanks for the help Sharad but I don't think this is the problem.
Indeed I have two partitions on my mac air, but the one where OS X Lion is installed (the one with /Applications) is a non-case sensitive one. If I try to install on the case sensitive one, then, the Installation software does not allow me to continue. The /Users/fbnascimento is on the other hand in a case-sensitive device, althought it did not prevented me to install it on OS X 10.6. I have no idea what it might be, but as far as I can tell, it might have something to do with: "Install on Snow Leopard -> Trashing it withouth uninstalling -> Trying to reinstall on Snow Leopard". Maybe there is some uninstalled component I'm not aware of...
I've tried to download a new Flash CS 5.5 from adobe, the same error. If I copy a Flash App from another machine it does not run either.

In order to complete Studio 8 activation, I was asked to provide serial numbers of older version of Dreamweaver and Flash Pro. I did but it won't accept it.

I have intalled CS4 Design Premium and Flash Builder 4 (the trial version). According to this Adobe

However, when i try to create Flash Professional component for use in Flex as specified in the the workflow video to (i.e. copy a .fla to
Flex Project lib directory or drag "custom" Flash Professional component onto state to link to Flash Pro) - I get the "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5"
error mesage.

Hi,
I have installed both FB4 and Flash CS5 as trial versions. I installed FB4 as a plugin into eclipse Gallileo and then installed CS5. When trying to create a new Flash Project in Eclipse I get the message "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5 or higher to be installed.", although CS5 is installed.
I tried reinstalling FB4 but it didn't help.
If FB4 is installed as standalone, then its eclipse IDE has no problem creating new Flash Projects.
Any idea why the plugin doesn't detect my Flash Pro CS5 installation?

Will Fireworks 8 and Flash Pro 8 upload to Dreamweaver CS5.5?

I have Macromedia Studio 8 and use Dreamweaver 8 almost exclusively. I would like to purchase Dreamweaver CS5.5, but would like to know if work in both Flash Pro 8 and Fireworks 8 would be able to be uploaded to Dreamweaver CS5.5 or do I need to purchase both of those in CS5.5?

I'd bet that content created in Flash Pro 8 and Fireworks 8 would be compatible with Dreamweaver CS5.5, though I'm not absolutely certain of it (and I'm not quite sure what you mean by "upload"). However, I'm definitely wondering why you're interested in upgrading Dreamweaver but not the other two applications.

Flash Pro CS6 installation failed

I'm tried 4 times now to install Flash Professional CS6 using the Adobe Application Manager, which I downloaded from Creative Cloud. Every time I click "install", the progress bar gets to the end and then it says "Installation Failed". When I look at the details it reads: "The download appears corrupted. Press Cancel, wait a few minutes and try again (-60)". So I click cancel and try again and same thing happens.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.7.4.
Guys seriously, every time I get stoked about a new Adobe product I'm usually let down by endless bugs and the hacks and hoops I have to jump through to get around them. Not a good start for Creative Cloud.
Can somebody from Adobe tell me what I need to do to install Flash Pro CS6?

In the end I had to download a trial just so I could get it working. Even though I was paying a monthly fee for Creative Cloud. Huge fail there. Later on, when I bought my new Macbook Air, everything worked fine with Creative Cloud, and I could download apps no problem. It probably had something to do with the fact that I had CS5.5 installed previously ..?.. though I will never really know. Maybe if you try removing all or even some of your old Adobe products and start fresh you might have better luck.
Oh Adobe, you are ever the disappointment.

CS5 updates fail to install

In the process of updating to Windows 8.1, I've started with a fresh install of CS5 and LR. CS5 installs without problems, but fails to update. It appears to be downloading the updates, but gives the error : "Some updates failed to install", providing a list of all components of CS5. Each component reports "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later". Having tried several times, each with the same result, I contacted adobe customer support using the link provided: Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | CS6, CS5.5, CS5"
Adobe support confirmed that there was no problem with the serial or license, and referred me to the forum. The forums do not appear to have a clear solution to this issue. Some updates are available for manual download, but it appears not all of them. I'm not sure why the product update installer is included in CS5 if it is not functional. This seems like a possible case of a broken link for the installer, but there does not seem to be a way to update the installer itself.

I was just referred to the forum as well for the same issue. My serial numbers are verified and registered. I see here that this is the place to go for unanswered questions. I think the main issue here is that Adobe doesn't want to offer support for older products. Likely, Adobe is trying to force us into purchasing the upgraded software. If anyone has found a solution, please feel free to share it with me as well as I have an identical situation.
Adobe offered that I call tech support. Last time I tried to contact adobe via telephone, it took more than a half an hour just to get a rep on the phone and of course their solution was to buy cs6.

Flash Pro CC 2014 : Failed to initialize installer.

Hello! I tried to install Adobe Flash Pro CC 2014 but the Adobe Installer returns the following error : Failed to initialize. What cn I do please ? Thanks.

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

Flash Pro CS6 Updates fail, supressed by the Admin - Win7-64

Hi,
want to update Flash Pro Cs6 (PC Win7 64bit) to Update2.
The menu Help>Updates is greyed out.
The Update2 patch installer says "updates could not be applied. Contact your system Admin. Updates have been suppressed by the Admin"
before starting.
This seems to point towards a privilege issue but, I have tried to :
run Flash as admin, run the updater as admin, install flash logged in as admin and updater logged in as admin,
without any luck....

Manually update Creative Suite 6 products
Go to the Adobe.com Product updates site and choose the update you want to download.
When the download completes, start the update by double-clicking the Set-up.exe (Windows)
Prompted to shut down conflicting applications, do the following:
Windows
Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Select the Processes tab, select a conflicting process, and click End Process.
Repeat for any additional conflicting processes.
Check to see if the update downloaded successfully.

Scout and flash pro cc, Enable sampler option missing

I am trying out flash pro cc and scout for mobile

1) Enable Detailed Telemetry from flash cc publish settings (i did this)
2) On the AIR for iOS Settings dialog, switch to the Deployment tab and select the Enable Sampler option in the Telemetry Options section.
However there is no enable sampler or telemety option/menu.
Perhaps its all integrated now when you click the first option Enable Detailed Telemetry?

Once you go to publish settings and enable "Enable Detailed Telemetry" option and then go to the AIR for IOS Settings dialog, you should see the "Telemetry Options" section as shown below. Are you not seeing this? what is the type of document that you are creating?

Flash CS6 and Flash Pro CC questions

I have the Adobe Creative Suite CS6, I just seen that Flash has a new version "Flash Pro CC" I need to know the following.
WIll Flash Pro be available on its own? Or is there a CS7 Creative Suite coming?
Main differences in Flash Pro CC and Adobe Edge Animate?
I do not see any of this info available as my business seems to be pointing to more app creation and HTML5 animation in the future. Adobe Edge is a good tool but there is no tool that can stand beside Flash when it comes to animating and I would hope that in some way shape or form, masks and some other features which were avaialble ONLY in Flash are now somehow integrated in Flash Pro?

This is a very good point as anyone who knows Flash would agree that it would be a godsend if Flash Pro CC would allow the user to create Flash based animations and then export to HTML5 while preserving the tools in Flash like masking which is not available in Edge. Having worked in Edge plenty of times it still requires alot of coding when you are doing button states and the overall nightmare of audio not being totally perfected to work in HTML 5 without 3rd party javascript libraries makes it difficult.
So, Flash Pro CC is ONLY available in Creative Cloud for a subscription, correct?
I have the new Lynda.com overview of Flash Pro CC and will have a look but in the meantime you are a Flash god and have helped me numerous times, many thanks !!!!

MoarDan it appears your Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable package needs to be reinstalled. You may want to reinstall this necessary component of your Windows operating system at Latest Supported Visual C++ Downloads.

MacBook Pro Dead after failed Lion install

My MBP Core 2 Duo 1.53 GHz was running just fine on OS 10.6.8.
Then I decided to install Lion on the machine. I downloaded Lion on my other machine, a MacPro, and burned a bootable DVD from the "InstallESD.dmg" file found in the package contents.
The DVD booted the MBP just fine and proceeded through the lengthy install process. When it appeared to be about 80% through the install process, a window popped up that said "Install Failed" , that the installer had encountered an error, and to try the install again. The second attempt rendered the same result.
Having used Disk Utility to Repair Disk, there were no problems detected.
So I decided to reinstall the original OS (10.6) from the install disks that came with the machine. SAME ERROR!
So I decided to wipe the hard drive clean, zeroed out, ran Apple Hardware Test with no problems found, and again tried installing the original OS from the original install disk. SAME ERROR!
Seems to me that the failed Lion install did something to the machine that rendered it unable to install ANY OS.
So now my MBP which was running just fine on 10.6.8 before attempting to install Lion, is usefull only as a doorstop.
If anyone knows a way to get my original OS back on this machine I would be greatful!

If there is a "blessed" operating system installed on a external drive, holding option should be able to choose that drive to boot from.
C boot from the 10.6 disk, then install 10.6 onto a blank, HFS+ journaled external drive. (disk utility under the installer menu)
Then reboot and hold option, you should be able to boot from the external drive.
From that you should be able to work magic on the internal drive, even use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone OS X 10.6 onto the internal drive.
As you know, you have to select the bare metal of the internal hard drive in Disk Utility to reformat it and remove the GUID partition table and the 10.7 Recovery Partition. Perhaps you missed that step and selected just the OS X partition. "Macintosh HD" etc.
Also you need a internet connection to install 10.7, it's DRMed.
