CS5 and Lion Upgrade--color change

I am using CS5 on a Macbook and printing on an Epson Sylus Photo R2400. I recently upgraded to OSX 10.7 (from 10.58 if this matters). When I compare a photo that I printed before the upgrade with one printed after the upgrade (using the same paper and profile and the file has not been edited between printings), the one printed in 10.7 has a slight magenta cast (the original print has pastel greenish blues; the one printed from 10.7 is more greyish violet). The original print matches the calibrated monitor better as well. I am using photoshop to manage colors, and, as far as I can tell with the new driver, printer color management is turned off (this seems to happen when the settings are selected in the photoshop print window).
I have read that there were potential issues with drivers, but I have cleaned out the Epson folder in my system library, reset the printing system, and reloaded the printer with newly downloaded drivers from Epson. None of this seems to change the output.
It may be possible that the new Epson driver yields different color from the same file/profile combination, but this strikes me as unlikely.
It may also be that there was some nozzle clogging in the original prints that, once cleared, has resulted in the color shift, but the number of consistent prints and timing of the shift makes this unlikely as well.
I am tempted to get a custom profile for the printer to address the match issue, but if there is some software glitch that is causing the shift, am not sure this is the right solution either.
Does anyone have any advice as to how to resolve this issue?

I have CS4 and CS5 installed at present and have had no issues whatsoever, except a bit of slowness starting uo but I only have a 2.1ghz processor and 3GB Ram. But still a better startup and more solid platform than Snow Leopard, but do read the threads on auto-save/versions.

    Hi,
When system is in a sleep mode or hibernate mode, it will save the data ans settings in memory or hard disk, so I suggest you run a memory check and a harddisk check and see if it can detect any errors.

  • Indesign CS5 and CS2 upgrade/compatibility issues

    Hi,
I have recently upgraded from CS2 to CS5 and I am having printing issues.
If I open a CS2 file in CS5, I can not print direct from Indesign.  It prints part of the page with big white boxes and then spits out 5 odd pages of error messages.
I had a case open with Technical Support (#181804690) but they have now told me that CS2 and CS5 are not compatible and I will have to redesign all files from scratch.  He said that all CS2 files will not work in CS5 - only from CS3 and up.
Surely this is can't be right and Adobe do not care (as I was told by Tech Support)?!
Also, Indesign seems to crash every time I close the application.
Can anyone help with this?  Thanks!

    Hi Peter,
    What a relief!!!
    My case number was 181804690.
I have a Dell Optiplex 780 Intel Core Duo, Windows XP 32 bit.
I am trying to print direct from Indesign to a Lexmark C782.  We have updated all the drivers etc from Lexmark but still not luck.
When I print I get part of the background print fine but where there is meant to be text and images, there is just white boxes.
The error messages which print out after the first page are:
    ERROR: syntaxerror
    OFFENDING COMMAND: binary token, type=138

  • CS5 save for web color change problem

    Hi Forum
I've just started using PS CS5 on a new iMac, and I'm having some problems with save for web colors.  If I save an image (for example a shape with a solid color) then add it to a site I'm making then test in Safari, then take a screenshot with Grab, then open again in Photoshop, test the screenshot color with the eyedropper, the color value is slightly different to the original Photoshop file.
Previously in CS3, I had the color settings RGB workspace set to Monitor RGB display, and view > proof setup > Monitor RGB.  Then when saving for web I made sure convert to sRGB was unchecked.  This always worked and would give me the exact same colors in the browser as Photoshop.
I have tried the same settings now is CS5, plus a few other variations (like using view >proof setup > internet standard RGB) but it is just not working.
Does anyone know the correct setup to save for web in CS5 and get the same original colors?
    I'm saving them as jpegs.
I hope someone can help with this.  Thanks in advance

I'm really confused about this now.  My display profile in OSX settings is set to iMac.  I have some specific questions:
    - What should my color settings be in Photoshop?
    - What should the proof setup be set to?
    - What color profile should my documents be set to?
    - What are the correct options to select when I save to web?
I just want to able to save a jpeg image for web, and get the exact same colors as my original Photoshop file.  Please help!

  • Do I install both CS5 and CS6 upgrade or just CS6?

PC fried by lightning. My CS5 was updated with CS6 upgrade. Must I install both or can I only install CS6?
    Thanks
    Callie

You should only need to install CS6.  As part of the activation process after your CS6 serial number is accepted you will be asked to identify the qualifying version (CS5) and enter its serial number

  • Multiple user accounts and lion upgrade

Anyone with experience with Lion upgrade and having multiple(4) user accounts on Snow Leopard 10.6.8?

Upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion only affects the system software. The /Users/ folder remains untouched.

  • Adobe cs5 and Lion

Now that it has been out for a few months, I was thinking about installing OS 10.7 Lion. Is anyone here using it along with Adobe CS5 applications? Are you getting glitch-free results?
    Thanks, and happy 2012,
    Nicky

Looks like it's way too soon to adopt Lion. Regardless of whether it's Apple's dev crew or Adobe's who haven't done their homework well enough, I see a really high percentage of problems reported, a lot of them in the last month or two.
I need a headache-free upgrade, so I'll just wait till late spring.

  • CS5 - Mountain Lion Upgrade has ruined "save for web & devices" output

As title - I make a lot of web graphics, and immediately post-upgrade (from Snow Leopard - I jumped 2 OS versions) the output from Illustrator to PNG or JPG, regardless of settings, is awful.
I had to output a small icon at full size and do the job in Photoshop - which worked perfectly.
I've seen whispers on other forums of other users with the exact issue, but there's nothing like a resolution to it that I can see.
    Any ideas clever folk?

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for this - I didn't think your answer would help initially, but it did!
Somehow the reinstall of Mountain Lion, as far as I can tell, changed what I had always considered the "default" setting in the "image size" tab of "save for web" from "art optimized" to "none"
A quick tweak back (to either that option or the "type optimized") and all is well, we're back in the game.
    Thanks so much!
    Paul.

  • Final Cut X and Lion, upgrade or not?

Should I postpone upgrading to Lion. FCP X is working fine.

Do you like to beta test and bleeding edge?
Have you looked at tables and reports of what apps and drivers are compatible?
No matter what, I would only test on a spare extra system drive no matter what and have an extra backup set for everything.

  • Apple care and Lion upgrade

    Hello everyone
I've been using my iMac 27" i5 for 3-4 months now, it doesn't run so smooth like it used to when I switched it on for the first time. I don't know what causes the lag but I heard that temporary files/old unused Safari files cause this lag. Is there any application which cleans your mac and reduces the lag?
Also, I was looking forward to upgrading my OS X to Lion. Will my applications save after I upgrade it? (I have Microsoft office installed on my machine)
    Thanks in advance!

There are a multitude of things that might cause what you describe.  Please be more specific (where does it happen, when, what is being done..etc).
Also, I was looking forward to upgrading my OS X to Lion. Will my applications save after I upgrade it? (I have Microsoft office installed on my machine)
Applications will be moved when you insstall (if you wish).  Migration assistant does that for you.
Office 2004 is NOT supported under OS X 10.7.  Later releases of Office (2008 & 2011) are supported.  In my own case, I dumped Office and am now using Apple's iWork.

  • Canon T2i and Lion upgrade

Since upgrading to LIon, my computers will not recognize my camera.  iPhoto does not open up when the camera is connected, but I can open iPhoto and any library that I have saved on an external hard drive.  Any ideas on how to get the computer to see the camera?

It usually doesn't bother me to just sync clip-by-clip if they're all slated properly. The only time I really rely on the free-run timecode is if I shoot a bunch of video takes and want to sync them up to a single, long audio take. My workflow for that has always been to create a multiclip sequence out of all the clips, which relies on the timecode to arrange all the takes on a continuous timeline, with the appropriate amount of space between them. Then you just need to sync the first shot, and all subsequent shots will be (at least roughly) synced.
Of course, FCPX doesn't do multiclip sequences, so there's no way to do this, even if it could read the T2i timecode properly.
For what it's worth, the Canon E1 plugin is the only method I know of that preserves timecode—I think because it's stored in the .THM files. Premiere may also do it, but I'm not sure.

  • INdesign CS5 and Lion Screen redraw errors

I have been running INdesign 7.0.4 with Mac OS 10.7.2, I am getting screen redraw issues and ghosting when scrolling or making any edits. I have trashed the prefs, repaired my disk permissions to no avail.

    Thanks for your help!

    Ah, this is easy.
You have a problem with the SING module, see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408816.html.
