CS5 Best print quality using "Image" options ?

Hi.
I have recently upgraded CS5 from 32 bit to 64 using Windows 7. I am trying to maximise print qualty. But notice that "Image" menu only offers 8,16 and 32 bit. The menu is preselected to 8 bit (? Improted picture qualtiy) and if I reselect to 32 bit, I lose the option to print. Can you help me please? Nai

This has nothing to do with print quality. You seriously need to read the help and do a generic web search on print stuff...

  • C4280 defaults to Best print quality in Excel

    Hi,
    My C4280 for some reason always defaults to best print quality in Excel - other programs are OK. I have created several short cuts with draft print quality.
    I can change the setting to draft , print it in draft, close the document then open it again & it will want to print in  Best quality.

    Thanks Michael for your generally good advice. I actually answered my own question about setting up the highest quality print by performing the steps I outlined in the second paragraph of my initial post. After printing a couple of samples and studying the results with a loupe, I found saving the TIFFs with Zip compression as opposed to the maximum quality JPEG. files was the way to go although almost no one would know the difference without intense scrutiny. Honestly I'd prefer Adobe offer LZW instead of Zip as the option for how Acrobat deals with TIFF files but perhaps there's a technical reason which would preclude that option.

  • C4780 scan this alignment page for best print quality problem

    My C4780 photosmart printer is stuck in the "scan this alignment page for best print quality" loop.
    i.e. It keep display this message and refuse to print.
    My OS is windows Vista Home.
    I had followed the steps in the user manual but still cannot fix this problem.

    Hi tsanchung,
    From the description of your problem, it appears that the alignment process was not completed successfully.
    I would recommend that you load the alignment page printed as shown in the section 'Step eight: Align the cartridges' in the link below to complete the alignment:

    I hope that this suggestion will help you fix the problem.

  • CS5 color print problem using CS6

    I upgraded from CS5 on XP to CS6 hosted on Windows 7, 64 bit.  Images loaded into my new CS6 system from my camera or the web display and print perfectly. I am using the same printer for CS6 as I did for CS5, an Epson 3800.  However, when I open and print older CS5 generated images using CS6, the images print with what appears to be reversed grey tones and off color but the monitor displayed colors appear just as good as they did on CS5. In summary, images generated in CS6 print ok, but images generated under my old CS5 system print with off colors using CS6 but display ok.  Thanks for your suggestions and help.

  • How to get best picture quality using iDVD to burn a movie from iMovie?

    I would appreciate any guidance on options to choose and approaches such that I get the best picture quality when I view an iMovie product on a wide screen HD TV using a DVD burned with iDVD. Choose wide screen or standard format in iMovie? Best Performance or Prof. Quality in iDVD? ...

    Good Morning,
    My computer is using Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and has ilife 09 installed on an imac. I have been reading it is better to use imovie 06. When I tried to do a custom install from the 06 disk imovie and idvd were grayed out but had a checkmark. It would not let me deselect idvd. Not really knowing how to do this I quite the process. Can you or someone please advise me on how and what exactly to do in order to accomplish a custom install of imovie 06? Should I delete imovie 09 first? If so how is this accomplished. Perhaps it would be less complicated to purchase photo to movie? Really do not want to spend unless it is necessary since I only know a little about what I'm doing but enough to be dangerous to my computer

  • Poor Colour Print Quality using Canon Pixima 5000

    Hi there.
    I am printing to an IP5000 off the back of an airport form MBAir with iPhoto. THe colours on the printouts are completely washed out with either a heavy blue tinge (for dark photo's) or redish tinge for lighter photo's.
    I have tried HP daily paper 190grm and Kodak, both suffer the same problem, so it feels like the settins or printer driver is at fault.. can anyone point me at a calibration exercise to improve this? or offer any advice?

    Hello David,
    I use the iP5200 at home for photo printing, which is a slightly later model to your iP5000. From the iPhoto print dialog open and the iP5000 set as the printer, I first select the paper type in the Presets menu, such as Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, which is a Canon 260gsm high gloss stock. Not sure which setting would be ideal for the papers you are using, especially given that the Preset (profiles) are based on Canon papers.
    I then click Print to proceed to the normal print dialog and ensure the Color Matching menu is set to Canon Color Matching?
    Also, I change to Quality & Media, ensure the media type menu showing the same paper selected in the previous Presets menu and then set the Print Quality to High?
    Again, this procedure is for Canon stock. Using the Canon paper profiles may provide the unwanted results you are getting with the HP and Kodak papers, although I have used Kodak photo paper previously and the results have been okay.
    If you cannot get a good result for your stock using the Canon paper profiles you may have to look at using ColorSync instead of Canon Color Matching. This would then require you to have an ICC profile for the paper you are using to ensure you get a reasonable result. Check the vendors web site for a profile for the papers you have. This will go a long way to helping you obtain an improved colour output.
    Another suggestion would be to purchase a small amount of Canon photo paper. You could then print from iPhoto with the correct paper profile selected and see whether you are happy with the output. This would help determine if the paper is the cause of your current symptom.

  • Print quality using iphoto

    How can I change the print quality when printing photos through iphoto on my iMac? I am running OSX 10.7.2 I have installed my printer with the latest downloaded drivers etc. The printer is a HP photosmart 5510. I have gone into system preferences, then print and scan. From here I can see my printer but can't see anyway of changing the print quality. Similarly, if I go into print settings via iPhoto I have the same problem. I have been able to change the quality in Safari but can't see how to create a default setting for photo printing at the highest quality

    Hello:
    One way of assuring high quality would be to export the photo to the desktop (at highest quality) and then print from there.
    In my own case, I find that when I occasionally print a photo from iPhoto, the quality is quite good.

  • Best print quality on file export options?

    Which choice within the export file format will yield me the highest quality photo print. Either from my photo printer or if I send it to a professional press? I mean the file format, not the size, I always have that at max.
    thanks in advance

    I think it is not so much the outpt file, but the original file format that you used to capture the picture. If you shoot in RAW, then use RAW, if you shoot JPEGs, then JPEG is probably your best option.

  • Printed quality of images is poor

    Hi,
            We are trying to print water bills for one of our customers. This water bill contains a bar graph. We use a third party product (Chart Director) to produce a jpeg image of the graph. This image is converted to base 64 and written into a "dat" file and put through the Jetform Central. When we create a PDF the quality of the graph is good i.e., they grey inside the bars of the graph are even. But when printed on our production Xerox 180 printer, the grey inside the bars of the graph are pixelated and of poor quality.
             In fact, all images (which has grey scaling) embedded in the form produce pixelated images when printed.
             We use Jetform 5.5

    Ctrl+Shift+R and Ctrl+Shift+A - seems to do the trick for me (ISP: Vodafone Romania).
    However, when I phoned them in order for this "feature" to be removed, I was told to get my USB modem to one of their centers for a sofware update. No info on the website so far.

  • Best printer to use?

    could anyone help? is there a good printer that works well with my system ??

    What are you going to use the printer for? Do you want color? Do you want it to be photo perfect? Would you like a laser printer, or ink-jet? Do you have a budget in mind?
    There are lots of printers that work with Macs running 10.7.5. If you'll be a little more specific we can probably help you.
    Best of luck.

  • What is the best way to use images?

    I need to be able to load an image and set it's size. I am going to let the user pick what picture they want and I need to be able to use any size picture and make it smaller so that it will only be as big as I set it to be.

    Here a brief piece of code to help to resize your Images:
    public void showAnyImage(URL url)
    Image anImg = new anImage(url);
    img = anImg.getImage();
    MediaTracker mt = new MediaTracker(this);
    mt.addImage(img, 0);
    try {
    //waiting for fully upload
    mt.waitForAll();
    } catch (InterruptedException e) {
    //do something with your error
    repaint();
    // now you could scale the size like this
    img = img.getScaledInstance(img.getWidth(this), img.getHeight(this), 0);
    // or to make it 200 pxls smaller (vertic. and horizont.)
    img = img.getScaledInstance(getWidth()-200, getHeight()-200, 0);
    repaint();
    public void paint(Graphics g)
    if (img != null) {
    g.drawImage(img,100,100,this);
    Hope it helps

    In a PS file, what is the best way to handle fonts, leave them as font or rasterize, before flatening and making PDF?

  • Print Dialogue does not show print quality options on MacBook

    I am trying to print wirelessly from my Macbook Pro to a HP 5500 connected to G5. I can print no problems, but I can't control the print quality as this option does not appear in the print dialogue box.
    When I print the same page from my G4 powerbook I get print quality options in the dialogue. Both laptops are running 10.4.8 and connecting wirelessly by an airport network. The printer is plugged in the G5 not an airport express.

    Hi there,
    As Scapesuiter has mentioned, it would be best to check the HP web site to see if there is a Universal driver for your printer. These are drivers that have been written to work on the new Intel Mac's and on the previous Power PC (PPC) Mac's.
    If there isn't a Universal driver, you can still use the older PPC driver, however you will experience problems like you are getting when printing from a Universal application via a PPC driver. Usually you see a line through the option that is not available, but I guess another symptom could be that the option is not viewable. Anyway, for some Universal applications, you can choose to open them using the Rosetta emulator. With the application closed, select its icon in the Finder and do a Get Info (Cmd - I). In the window that appears there may be the option "Open using Rosetta". If there is, select this option, close the window and open the application. Now try to print and see if the option is present.

  • Print Quality Question

    When using the J6400 series there are several ways to set print quality....  There is the button on the front of the machine as well as the printing shortcuts that show up under preferences when you click on print.  Which selection over-rides the other and takes priority?  I have several customized shortcuts that use fast-draft and black cartridge only.  I'm hoping the button on the machine that always defaults to mid-level quality doesn't take priority over my customized settings.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    AppleWorks changes the resolution of all graphic formats except PICT to 72 dpi. There are a couple of things you can do improve the print quality of images.
    1. Turn on Fractional Character widths in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. This is a text setting, but it does improve the print quality of images.
    Open the image in Preview (32-bit) or GraphicConverter & Save As... a PICT to use in AppleWorks. PICT is generally the best format to use for inserting or pasting into AppleWorks.
