CS5:  Bridge not responding

When I open the mini bridge then select browse files, my favorites, recent folders, etc do not contain any files.  In the content box below it says "waiting for bridge cs5..." and doesn't respond.  Does anybody have an idea of what is going on?

I have this same issue, and in services, switchboard is stopped and cannot be started - Error 1053:  The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.  I have looked at hundreds of messages about this, and tried many of the solutions with no luck.  Permissions seem fine, switchboard ini was recreated, etc.

  • CS3 bridge not responding

I have been using CS3 Bridge on Vista for over a year with no real problems. Recently I was using it to move some files around and it stopped responding to any command. I closed it via task manager and reopened it. It opened but did not respond to any command and did not preview any photos. I tried reinstalling and then uninstall and reinstall. No help. I went to CS3 via an upgrade from CS2. When I tried the reinstalls I was using the CS3 upgrade disc. Any suggestions to get CS3 Bridge functional again?

The prefs an caches were damaged. Reinstalls don't touch them, so nothing got fixed. You will have to manualyl delete them/ move them out of the way and let the program create new default ones...

    Hey glennboyes,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with connecting to the iTunes Store. The following articles may help to resolve your issue:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
    "Error 3000" through "3999"
Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

  • Photoshop CS5 Bridge not working

I have windows 7 and cannot get the Bridge from Photoshop CS5 to work this is a real problem as most of my photographs are taken in RAW and I can't see the picture in the folder
I have tried most of the answers to this problem from the forum. Launching from start menu and through Program Files doesn't work. Not sure how to change from 64 bit to 32 bit in Windows 7
Adobe if you read this why not solve a problem instead of just bringing out a new version and expecting us to purchase this?

You need to give more details.  Why does it not work - error message, crash, freeze, never worked, worked yesterday?
Does it work when launched as seperate program from Bridge icon?

  • Photoshop CS5.5 "Not Responding"

I encountered an annoying issue with photoshop cs5.5 a few months ago, but I never got around to solving it because I didn't need to use it, but now I'm back at school and I need to work on some things...
When I open photoshop, there's no problem. But as soon as I create a new file, whether it’s just a blank page or if I'm importing a picture, it will start lagging and eventually it stops responding.
It's strange because I was able to use PS before, I've worked on other projects on the same computer, but all of a sudden, it just stopped working... I would really appreciate some help with this.
I don't think it's an issue with the compatibility because I have a very strong machine.
    Here are my system specs:
    Windows 7 64-Bit
    Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.40GHz
    16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 4GB
I've tried resetting the preferences, enabling/disabling OpenGL Drawing, changing the amount of accessible RAM... I don't know what else to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

It sounds like a pretty well-known problem with the display drivers.
You can verify it by going into Edit - Preferences - Performance, unchecking the [ ] Enable OpenGL Drawing checkbox, then closing and restarting Photoshop.  If this restores functionality, you have a display driver problem.
To resolve it, go to the nVidia.com web site and locate their latest display driver release for your hardware and operating system.  Download and install it and you should be able to turn the OpenGL Drawing setting back on, so that you're not without these features:

  • Mini Bridge not responding on PS CS6 on Mac

I have installed PS CS6 on my Mac and the link between mini bridge and bridge fails to respond.  Message comes up on mini bridge 'waiting for bridge'.  I have re-installed the software but still no joy - is anything switched off in preferences? Can anyone help please.
    Ian

I would recommend by starting with the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/.  It will automatically review your installation logs and attempt to locate solutions.
Alternately you can view the installation logs yourself by following the directions listed in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • CS4 Bridge not responding

I'm having issues when trying to open a photo in CS4 64-bit via Bridge.  I'm running the latest version (11.0.2) on win 7 64-bit.  My system has been running just fine for about 6 months up until about 3 weeks ago.  Using Bridge I try open a pic to do some editing and Bridge just stops responding.  If I use windows explorer to open a photo then I also have noticed that whenever I close PS that the photoshop.exe service is still running in task manager and another PS session won't open until I click end process on the existing instance.  I don't know if the two isues are related but I thought I'd mention it just in case

Well if overheating is an issue it is certainly not caused by dust inside my pc.  I have an Antec 300 case with an intake filter that I clean about every 2-3 weeks.  Plus when I installed the TV tuner card about 3 weeks ago I blew out what little dust was inside the case.  But I'll check it again just to be sure.  I'll try reloading the GPU drivers again but I doubt it'll help since I've essentially already done that.  I am a little concerned that MB is crapping out but more concerned that the onboard GPU is going bad.  Other than a little flickering my only problems are with photoshop so far.  I know that the flickering is not my monitor because I hooked it up to my lapton and I saw no flickering.  I also tried switching from DVI to VGA to see if the connector made a difference and it did not.  I haven't tried the HDMI yet.  I've been trying to figure this out for the past few weeks with no success yet.
I'm thinking that I've got a bad GPU or driver and/or a software problem.  Considering getting a PCI-X video card to see if that makes any difference.

  • ACR (CS5 Bridge) not opening all RAW files

I upgraded to CS5 last week and I'm having a problem with processing some RAW files. If I select ALL the images in a folder in Bridge and right click to open in ACR it doesn't open ALL the images - there are missing images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why it won't open these images up. I've also tried to select one of those omitted images in Bridge and right click to open up in ACR it still won't open it but if I double click it'll open it in ACR but only via PS. I don't get why it won't open some files especially as they're shot with exactly the same camera - any ideas or has anyone else noticed this happening? Thanks in advance!

Make sure you have renamed the files correctly, i.e. with the appropriate three-letter extension and with no illegal characters in the file name.
If the files are correctly labeled, you might want to purge the cache for the folder through the Tools menu in Bridge.

  • Photoshop CS5 does not respond to Lightroom

Hi. I have just recently upgraded both Photoshop CS4 to CS5 and Lightroom 2.7 to 3.0. They're great upgrades and am enjoying the new features. However, there is one hangup that I am running into. When in Lightroom, I do a right click over an image to Edit the Image in Photoshop CS5. Most of the time the image will then open in Photoshop and I can then proceed to do my edits. But, after a short while (after a couple hours), this procedure stops working. When I click in Lightroom to Edit in Photoshop CS5, Photoshop will begin to load up, but then the image to edit never appears. I then quit Photoshop and reload it, but then it still doesn't respond to Lightroom. After quitting both programs and retrying the whole process, Photoshop still won't respond.
The only way to fix this I've found is to restart or log off the comp (I'm on a mac with OSX 10.6). Some on here have said to delete the preference files. I've done this, but still no luck. I've deleted Photoshop CS5 and reinstalled it, and still the problems persists. I've updated my CS5 to version 12.0.1, and still the same problem. Has anyone else out there experienced this problem?
    Thanks

Worst case: trashing prefs by keeping ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop (and then using the dialog) should allow you to open it.

  • Re CS5 Bridge not working

I recently migrated all my programs from my imac to my new mac book pro.  This included Photoshop CS5.  For some reason, the Bridge portion of the program no longer works in my Mac Book Pro.  I get a message saying portions of the application are missing and to do a re-install of the program.  I've done, re-installs and de-install/re-installs and nothing solves the problem.  Anyone have an anwer?

It is usually recommended to install from a disk or download.  When you re-install are you copying over programs from old computer or from a disk?
I assume you are uninstalling and re-installing all of CS5 as Bridge is just part of the PS program.
If you move any files from the default location you can cause problems.  Some people do this to make the files look "more organized".
You may have such a mess that you need to use Adobe script cleaner and start over.

  • CS5-Bridge -- Not Enough Storage is available to complete this operation

Since installing CS5 (Windows XP sp3, w/ 3gb ram) and trying to use Bridge I get this command after about 10 minutes of use...especially if I try to drag a thumbnail image from the film strip at the bottom of the screen to another folder location.  Periodically, Bridge will just freeze up for a minute or so as well before I can do anything.   I have TONS of free (and fast) disk space ... so I think this message must be referring to RAM memory.
The only solution is bring up the task manager and close Bridge.... effectively Bridge is quite useless to me when it operates this way.  I thought I'd give it a try in CS5 but whatever is behind this seems to have been a problem for a long time.
I do have about 500,000 images for it to work with and figure that must have something to do with it...but apps like Picassa handle that many with no trouble.   Any fixes?

There is a forum dedictated to Bridge: http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_windows
