CS5 compatibility with mavericks

Is PS CS5 12.0 compatable with Mavericks  having issues  one is I can not open two or more photos at the same time opening one closes the previous open one  any help? thanks

Hello, normally, there is no problem, according to: http://blogs.adobe.com/vikrant/2013/10/creative-cloud-creative-suite-6-and-mavericks-10-9/ BUT... some users reported issues with menus when using a Wacom tablet (look in the forum) and make sure that your third party plug-ins work ok in Mavericks.

What version of Microsoft Office is compatable with Mavericks?

Office 2004 will not run under Mavericks. If you are running Entourage, you will need to verify your data first. If you upgrade and try to import and it fails, it's difficult to recover your data. Both Entourage 2008 and Office 2011 will import a good Entourage 2004 Identity. Mail requires Entourage to be open to import so you should upgrade to Mail first if you plan on using Mail. Note: Office 2011 H&S version does not contain Outlook. You have to purchase H&B to get Outlook.
While Office 2008 works there are a few quirks under Mavericks.
Office 2008 apps open with new window after upgrading to Mavericks
Office 2011 has features like Sync to Apple applications that no longer works because those features no longer exist in Mavericks.
    Sync Basics
CalDAV & CardDAV are protocols used by Apple, Google, Yahoo and others to sync contacts and calendars. Neither Entourage 2008 nor Outlook 2011 support CalDAV or CardDAV.
Apple removed sync in Mavericks with iTunes.
You can no longer sync with an iPhone or iPad via iTunes. You can only sync with an iPhone or iPad via a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google.
You can no longer sync local calendars with OS X Calendar (formerly iCal). You can, however, continue to sync calendars hosted on a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google with Apple's Calendar.
You can no longer sync with any third-party apps running on your Mac that use Sync Services, like Entourage or Outlook.
If you want to stick with Outlook, I suggest you look at Office 365 if you need sync for contacts and calendars. Otherwise, moving to Apple Mail, Contacts and Calendar with iCloud might be a better option for you.
Until Microsoft adds CalDAV and CardDAV support to Outlook, there is no way to sync other than get an Exchange account. It's $4/month Exchange Online.
A new version of Office for Mac is scheuduled for release later this year or early next year. Speculation is it will be by subscription only. If you are considering purchasing Office 2011, I would check out this deal that would auto upgrade you to the newest version when it's released.

  • Photoshop CS5 compatibility with windows 7 and windows 8

    Hello,
I do not understand the technical side of computers - I just use them for my work as a photographer
I have Photoshop CS5 32 bit installed on my PC with Vista home premium. I am buying a new PC with 64 bit Windows 7 installed, and it also has the option to upgrade for free to Windows 8 pro.
Will my CS5 work on windows 7 and if I take the free upgrade will it work on Windows 8 pro?
Does it matter that CS5 is 32 bit and the new PC will be 64 bit?
I don't want to get the free upgrade if it means my CS5 won't work on it, as I am happy wioth CS5 and do not need to upgrade to CS6 yet.
    Many thanks
    Tog Porter

Photoshop CS5 is a 32/64 bit application, so when you install it on your new system it will install both 32 and 64 bit versions by default.  This will give you compatibility with your 32 bit plug-ins, as well as 64 bit capability to edit large documents.
You may want to avoid the upgrade to Windows 8 at this time.  It's still immature and the drivers (e.g., for ATI video cards) leave something to be desired.  Plus, in general Windows 8 doesn't offer any compelling new features over Windows 7 (and actually removes some very useful one) - unless you really want the silly full-screen Metro/Modern games they offer at their new App Store.
If you DO decide to install the Windows 8 upgrade, I recommend you take whatever steps are necessary to install the new system as a full, virgin installation, rather than trying to upgrade the Windows 7 system you already have installed - and by this I mean you should NOT take the "keep programs and settings" upgrade, but do a Custom installation and install Windows 8 as though on a blank disk.  Operating systems installed as upgrades to prior versions virtually never work right.
In any case, after having run Photoshop on Windows 7 for a while, you'll want to DEactivate your Adobe software before making the transition (you can do this through the Help menu), then reactivate it after you're up on the new system.  This keeps control of your activation/licensing in your hand.
I strongly suggest you read up on Windows 8 before deciding to upgrade.  You'll find a lot of experts agree that it's not an improvement over Windows 7, which is hard to imagine because all prior versions - even Vista - have been improvements over their predecessors.

I have an iMac 10.6.8 with Adobe Creative Suites 5 Design Premium. Does Maverick 10.9.2 support all of the Adobe Creative Suite programs, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign?

    Chance,
It is for AI CS5, PS CS5, and ID CS5 according to these pages (although you have to find it under CS6 and know that Mavericks is Intel based):

  • Does photoshop cs5 work with mavericks?

    Hi all
I have 2 iMacs with photoshop cs5 installed on one. I have upgraded to mavericks on my non-photoshop machine - which was more of a bumpy ride than I had expected.
Now I wonder whether I should upgrade my photoshop iMac which is currently running os x 10.8.5. Have anyone tried running photoshop cs5 under mavericks - and if so how did it go?
    Kind regards
    Jack Jorgensen

Since when I installed Mavericks my Photoshop CS5 - without warning - becomes all of a sudden unable to display the pull-down menus: they appear but are are solid white. That is, I lose completely control of Photoshop, and of all teh changes I made to a picture in the meantime. I does maintain a connection with the keyboard, but all the windows that may result from a keyboard command are also white. Flying blind, looks like.
It never happened to me before, and it started happening after I installed Mavericks (and I checked online whether PS CS5 was ok with it before installing it, of course .... sure .... ).

  • Bridge CS5.1 with Mavericks Mac OS - I lost my workspaces

I am running Adobe Bridge CS5.1 and, once upgrading to OS Mavericks, lost the ability to change to Output or any of the other workspaces.  Workspaces is greyed out in the toolbar.  I use that quite a bit to make contact sheets so I'd love to get that functionality back.  Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. but I wonder there is no solution?
I can't down-grade from OS X 10.9 to previous version. Because I have to test and develop apps. so I need Photoshop for UI design.

  • Photoshop CS5 - Compatibility with "Canon Easy Photo Print Pro"

    Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed  the trial version of Photoshop CS5, only to discover that in the  Automate option  (Under Files), Canon's Easy PhotoPrint Pro is no longer  listed.
Canon have advised that it is not their problem.
I  found that with Photoshop CS3, that this method of printing, provided most  accurate colours,
I would be interested in other subscribers, who have CS5 and who print with  the Canon Pixma Pro 9000,
    (1) Have you found a method of using Canon Easy Photo Print Pro, and if not
    (2) What settings do you find give the best results from your printer -  What options do you select in the print dialogue box, etc.
    Brian

    Hi,
Thanks for this information - Canon came back to me with a similar responce.
Pending a resolution, which allows something similar to  Canon's Easy PhotoPrint Pro to be installed as an "Add-in" to Photoshop CS5, I plan to allow Photoshop to manage colours.
This requires you to disable the printer from managing colours.
For those who have a similar problem and are not sure, how to disable Colour Management in the Pixma Pro 9000, the following is a quote from Canon:
Thank you for contacting Canon Support. Your reference/ticket number is 1031274.
We are sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your Canon Pro9000.
Please go to the 'Printing Preferences' and then select the 'Main' tab.
Here you will see a 'Colour / Intensity' option, make sure this is set
to 'Manual'. The 'Set' button will now appear active, press this button
and then go to the 'Matching' tab. Once here make sure 'Colour Correction'
is set to 'None'. This will deactivate the colour management completely.
Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us

  • Premiere Pro CS5 Compatibility with Sony DSR-25 Deck

I have recently upgraded my computer to support cs5.  I have a PNY Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics card, 8 gb ram, an Intel Xeon 5150 processor and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.  My issue comes with running this system connected via firewire to a Sony DSR-25 deck.  When connected, while working on a project, at any point I click on the file menu, it takes several seconds (sometimes half a minute) to load the drop-down menu.  This is frustrating, but not entirely detrimental.  The main problem is that when I try to capture video (I use the keyboard shortcut F5 to bypass my previous issue) the capture video will usually crash the program, or it will take forever and when I try to capture, it will miss almost the entire first minute of video trying to catch up.  It starts rolling the tape, but just doesn't physically begin capturing at that time.  I spoke to someone at Adobe and we narrowed the problem down to an issue with the deck, and I am trying to figure out if this deck is absolutely not compatible with this system or if there is some sort of work-around.

    Try this:
In  Windows: Click on  Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Device  Manager (up on top  left), or just click the Start button and search for  "device manager."
Swivel   down the entry for "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers, and right-click on   the item that is revealed (will depend on your computer/card   manufacturer). Select "Update Driver Software."
Click the "Browse my computer for driver software," and then the "Let me pick from a list" button.
In the list of drivers, select the one that has "(Legacy)" at the end; click Next, and then Close all the dialogs.
    Try capturing again.

  • CS5 compatibility with very early versions ie DW4

    Hi,
I've just got my own copy of CS5 and going to college part-time to get to know it. I've used DW8, in a small way, at work (a school).
If I use CS5 (at home) on a site developed at work in DW8 will it be compatible? Any problems when amending/updateing a page created in CS5 but updated at work in DW8?
I've also been asked to create a site for another school who still have DW4. Any likely problems there? (The new site will be updated in future in school by a staff member familiar with the original DW4 software so they are reluctant to upgrade to CS5).
I assume all will be OK but want to check at this stage!
    Thanks for any help!

    You should be fine.
I've also been asked to create a site for another school who still have DW4. Any likely problems there?
Yes, definitely - template syntax changed completely going from DW4 to DMX (version 6).  A template or child page built in CS5 will NOT BE RECOGNIZED as a template or child page in DW4. And DW4 had very little if any UI for managing CSS.  Honestly unless you are building a very simple site, I wouldn't touch this job.

  • Does Adobe CS5 work with Mavericks

I have an iMac desktop running 10.6.8 and I use  CS5 products. Has anyone upgraded to Mavericks who usese CS5?

Since you're planning on upgrading from Snow Leopard, be aware no PowerPC apps will run under any version of OS X from Lion, 10.7.x and later. So if you have any, you either need to:
    1) Upgrade them to newer Intel native versions.
    2) Run Snow Leopard Server in a VM for those PPC apps.
    3) Install Snow Leopard on a separate partition and boot to it when you need to use the PPC apps.
    4) Find replacements for those you can't upgrade, and don't want to run them from within a VM, or boot separately in order to use them.
Rule Number 1. Have full backup of your current system you know you can restore before proceeding.

  • CS5 Compatibility with AMD E350 Processor

I just opened up my new computer and I realized it didnt have a CD Drive.  Later looking into the specs I failed to check if the CS5 Design Premium Suite will run on my AMD Fusion E350 Processor ( 1.60GHz 1MB ) APU.  Its an 11.6 inch netbook with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.  3GB of RAM and plenty of Hard Drive Space.  But I am mainly asking if the AMD E350 Processor is enough to run the CS5 Suite (Mainly Photoshop) well.
PS.  If you know how to install photoshop cs5 without a built-in CD Drive any advice would be helpful.

Yes, it will run.  When I travel, I take a HP DM1Z-3000 along that is loaded with PSCS 5, Illustrator CS5, and LR 3.5.  That HP line uses the AMD E350 Fusion processor.  Is it as fast as my HP DM4 laptop with an I5 processor - no, but it will get the job done.  The bottleneck for you will be the RAM, not the processor.  It really is quite fast and very energy efficient.  My recommendation would be to up the RAM and you will have something that will work quite well.  I upgraded the RAM of both machines to 8 GB (quite cheap at this point), and even the little DM1Z can run circles around my 2 year old Core2Duo laptop that now sits on a shelf. For comparison, the old Core2Duo laptop also has 8 GB of RAM and it is simply not as responsive as the DM1Z....
