CS5 Contact Sheet II now working erratically..!!

Hi, have been using CS5 with the Contact Sheet 2 thing for over a month now (used it hundreds of times a month with CS4, to do my ebay listings)
but just this days it has thrown up an error message, and also started duplicating some of the images. even though i am contacting only open documents..
what does "because a command was not available" mean.
also below, is an error, where it has duplicated the same page (no i did not have two of it open) but with the second copy very reduced in size, circled in red....
what the hell is going on with CS5..???????.
I think this is a VERY buggy photoshop, more so than any previous version.
any one else having the same problem, and is there an answer, or a work around.
regards, Sandy

Im experiencing the same problem.  I've been able to make it stop, by executing the command and not touching the mouse.  Moving the mouse appears to mess up Contact Sheet with the latest CS5 update.

  • CS5 Contact sheet II in bridge

Wondering if anyone could help me make contact sheet II run from bridge in CS5 again. I'm on a PC and I noticed the other day it had disappeared under the tools /photoshop in bridge. I went back and re-installed the contact sheet folder and .jsx file back into the common folder files under adobe/photoshop but contact still wont work from bridge. Any ideas????  I'm running cs5 12.0.4 x32  and bridge 4.0.5.11

Provided you installed the scripts in the right places according the directions in pdf that comes with the optional cs5 plugins, check in Bridge CS5
under Edit>Preferences>Startup Scripts and see if the Contact Sheet II script is enabled.
If the menu item is there in bridge check that the plugins themselves are actually installed.
What version of windows are you using?

  • Contact Sheet II not working in PSE 12 suddenly

I have created contact sheets before in PSE 12 with no problem, but this is the first time I have done it since upgrading to Yosemite on my Macbook Pro. Now I get the following error screen.  I tried going in through Elements Organizer and notice that the folders showing there do not correspond with the actual folders on my hard drive. I'm puzzled as to why that would be and how to fix.  Maybe these are two separate issues. Since I don't use Organizer, my more pressing issue is creating contact sheets.  Thanks.

See if the solution described here works:

  • Create InDesign Contact Sheet script not working

I'm using InDesign CS3 and need to create contact sheets for multiple InDesign files. The contact sheets need to have a label with the file name of the document and the page number of each InDesign page in the document.
I tried to use the Tools > InDesign > Create InDesign Contact Sheet command in the Bridge, but get a message: "Selected Files that are not of the correct type will be skipped" After clicking OK, another message appears: "No Files Selected"
I wonder if I'm misunderstanding this script.
I also tried the Print Thumbnails command, but that doesn't allow me to add the file name and page numbers.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions to lead me on the right path.

Due to a prolonged, intense project, I'm just now getting back to the problem of creating contact sheets from InDesign.
I tried the revised script that includes INDD files as suggested by Kasyan, and it works fine.
However, I apologize for not explaining more clearly, but what I really need to do is create a sheet of miniature InDesign pages, similar to what prints out when choosing Thumbnails in the print dialog. Except that I need the bleed area to show.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • CS5 Contact Sheet II

I installed my upgrade for Photoshop CS5 today and then downloaded the Contact Sheet II plug-in.... the plug-in is in my CS5 plug-in folder when I try to launch it in CS5... via the AUTOMATE pull down, it DOES NOT SHOW... it DOES show up in Brdige CS5 ... Tools... Photoshop ... Contact Sheet II... but when I try to use it a small PS window pops up ... looks like a CS4 icon (light blue PS)... and says The command "<unknown>" is not currently available.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Patrick

    Hi,
The Contact Sheet II plug-in code is well aged but rigid, so porting to run in 64 bit applications was cost prohibitive. It also made more sense to rewrite and improve on the feature set using Bridge, since it allows you to browse, and collect multiple images much quicker than with Ps alone. Starting with CS4, the Contact Sheet II plug-in was removed to an optional install, so it's still available but only runs in the 32 bit mode.
If you don't like some of the current implementations in Bridge, please comment in that forum so they can hear your pain points.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_feature_requests
You can also try the excellent third party Contact Sheet X script version that runs in Photoshop and gives you more options than the Contact Sheet II plug-in. It outputs to BMP, GIF, JPEG, PSD, Ps EPS, Ps PDF, PNG, Targa, and TIFF. You can use Layout presets as well, so you only need to create layouts once then reuse often. The files can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ps-scripts/files/ (ver. CSX-1_4_5.zip is updated to run in CS5)

  • CS5 contact sheet search?

Can anyone tell me what happened to the contact sheet in cs5?  Any suggestions for a workaround if its been removed?

    Donald,
I don't have CS5, but that functionality (or some of it) was moved to the Output Module in Bridge in CS5:

  • Contact sheet II not working in photoshop CS6 or bridge CS6?

I keep getting error messages in photoshop CS6 and Bridge CS6 when trying to create a contact sheet.  Does anyone know what the problem might be?  The error messages I'm getting are attached.

I just found the solution, so simple: My bluetooth connection was on, so my Macbook connected to my external keyboard, which caused the problem.
    Hope it helps someone else.

I installed the plug-in as directed, and it completely failed during install. One of the messages was that the plug-in was not signed. How do I make this work?

  • Contact Sheet - indd files

How about being able to create contact sheets that include indd files! Creating contact sheets for job folders is kind of pointless for us since it won't do indd files, hmmmm.... InDesign can't make a thumbnail from its own files? This capability would be sweet.
    Thanks!

  • Contact sheet produces error message

I installed the contact sheet files and folder but it opens CF5 and produces an error message.
Have I installe it wrong? see attachment

As you know the Contact Sheet was discontinued in CS5 and replaced with a similar program in Output.  But if you like Contact Sheet here is a former response to a post that may help you.
Can not verify this is the correct approach.  Might want to google "Adobe Bridge CS5 contact sheet" and see if this address is used by others.
    I use Win 7 64 BIT
I make pdf output in Bridge CS5 but not work.
I downloaded optional filters and I tried in to read me files path but it doesn't work.
Now I find a new path and put in the "bridge Startup Scripts" file there. They working perfectly.
    The path is the bottom:
    ... /Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Bridge CS5 Exkensions/Adobe Output Module/Resources/Scripts
Copy all files and folders "PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US/Bridge Sturtup Scripts" paste in to this folder at the path
    ... /Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Bridge CS5 Exkensions/Adobe Output Module/Resources/Scripts

  • Create contact sheet

I have adobe photoshop cs6.  I use the automate - picture package in my older versions.  It is not an option in cs6.  To create a contact sheet.  I would like to do 9 images, of the same image (for trading cards).  I input the 3 images across and 3 images down, choose my image, but only one comes up on my contact sheet.  How do I do 9 images of the same image?  Or, is there a plug in for picture package?

Slow down. You wrote you have CS6.  Now you you write you have Windows 8.1 and a HP Envy. HP Envy  all in one or note book ?  In any case I guessing it has a 64bit processor.   The PDF is for CS5 not CS6.   Adobe made some configuration changes from CS5 to CS6.  There are two versions of Windows CS6 Preternatural and Subscription.  The CS5 plug-in will not work in the CS6 Subscription version of Photoshop.
Adobe in CS6 also added back Contact Sheet II that was removed in CS5 but made available as an optional download.   CS5 Contact Sheet also contained Picture Package.  The Contact Sheet II added back into CS6 was stripped the Picture Package feature.
The CS6 Windows installer  install both a 64Bit and a 32Bit Photoshop executables when you run a 64Bit Windows OS.  So there is a 32bit Plug-in folder for the 32 bit Photoshop and there is a 64 Bit Plug-folder for the 64 Bit Photoshop.  in the CS5 optional plug-ins download there are both 32 and 64 bit version of the plugins.  When you have a 64 bit Windows OS both the 32 and 64 bit Plug-ins. Should be installed.  There was a configuration change made in CS6 for Plug-in.  The Optional CS5 Plug-ins should be installed like third Party Plug.  Adobe moved where the install their required.  I you read the CS5 Optional Plug-in PDF you would find the both the CS6 32 bit and 64 Bit Plugins folders were empty.  These folders in CS6 were created by the Adobe Installer for third party to install thir Plug-ins in.  These two folders should be where you copy the CS5 optional Plug-ins to.  The 32 bit one into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins"  and the 64 bit one into "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins".  Note the two Contact Sheet II in My CS6 perpetual Automate menu.... On my other system I have CS6 Subscription version installed the CS5 plug-ins do not work in that CS6 version Adobe remove some Plug support or disables the CS5 Plug-ins...

  • Bridge - Photoshop - Contact Sheet II - PLEASE HELP

I used to be able to open bridge - go to tools - photoshop - contact sheet II
now all it gives me is General Photoshop Error occurred
    I've even deleted bridge preferences
Is it a problem in Photoshop or Bridge itself?
I have tried everywhere even the forums and nobody seems to be to help
I use the contact sheet all the time to do my pages - I can do it in photoshop but Bridge is so convenient and I can rearrange my pictures the way I want them to.
We have other machines in the office and I tried to same thing and the other machines are working fine - it's just mine.
Thank you for your prompt response,
    Marie

Are you using CS4 because you will need to install the optional "Contact Sheet II" software into Photoshop CS4.
    This Link should help:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb404900&sliceId=2#h5
You can then Select your images in Bridge and go to Tools menu/Photoshop>Contact Sheet II
and Contact Sheet II will then open in Photoshop.

  • How can I change the background color of a contact sheet?

I'm making my contact sheet just fine but it's on a white background, and I'd like to change it to a darker gray. This functionality existed in an earlier version of Bridge but I'm not seeing it now that contact sheet is now in Photoshop. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Say what?
Anyway in Photoshop’s Contact Sheet II just don’t check "Flatten All Layers" and you can then add the intended background to the resulting files.

  • Script for mulipage contact sheet?

Don't know if this belongs here or in Photoshop forum since it invloves a Photoshop feature called by Bridge -- but since Bridge is where I typically use it...
Currently I'm creating contact sheets from folders selected within Bridge (or thumbnails selected in Bridge) and the only way I can quickly get them into a mulitpage contact sheet/catalog format is to then use the PDF Presentation Multipage-Document feature with the add-open-pages selection. Then I can save it as a catalog and delete the Photoshop contact sheet pages. Works well enough but it is awkward to have to first select the open contact sheet files for the PDF Presentation and then close them all and delete them. Also, in the PDF Presentation options I have to deselect all the other files in the folder one by one if the contact sheet was selected from files (or just deselect the folder if I went that route). Often pretty simple but with large numbers of files (and thus a large number of Contact Sheet pages) it gets more complicated. Seems like a really good opportunity for a script (or action or plugin). Does anyone know if such a critter is available? Many file browsers have multipage contact sheet/catalog options but none of them are as well integrated with PS and ACR as Bridge so I've stopped using them. I sure miss those catalog files though.
Couldn't find anything in Studio Exchange under either Photoshop or Bridge (actions, plugins, or scripts) but that doesn't mean much since there is so much there I usually miss just what I need!
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Works for me!
