Cs5 crashing all of the sudden

Question

Hi I hope someone can help, all of the sudden photoshop keeps crashing every couple minutes. Its all updated and I've never had this problem before. Worst part is I have a deadline for something on wednesday and cant even use it! It keeps giving me the following error report:

Try resetting all the preferences to default  by doing the following:
Press and hold Contol - Shift - Alt immediately after cold-starting Photoshop.  You have be quick, and if you're quick enough it will prompt you to confirm deletion of the current preferences.
This corrects a surprising number of faults.
Keep in mind you'll need to reconfigure Photoshop settings that you've customized afterward.
