I bought CS5 a while back and would like to download it on another computer but all I can find is the CS6 version. Seeing as I bought CS5 I would assume I can still download it. Please advise. Thanks.

Can't open DNG files created with Mac CS5 downloader in Mac CS4 Photoshop

I recently installed CS5 on my mac but I kept CS4 installed as well. I notice that I cannot open DNG files created with CS5 in Photoshop CS4. Bridge CS4 shows the files only as icons - no image thumbnails. I am able to open these same files on a Windows version of CS4. Is there some plugin for my mac CS4 that will enable me to access the DNG files created with CS5? Is there a way to use my CS5 downloader when converting my raw files from my camera to DNG files that will make them compatiple with PS and Bridge CS4?

Well, yes...but you'll need to modify your DNG Converter prefs to allow for that. You''ll need a recent (ideally current DNG Converter 6.4.1 or above) and click on the DNG Converter preferences and select the correct DNG Converter options. Check DNG Converter 6.4.1 (the current version) and click on "Change Preferences" to be sure select Camera Raw 5.4 and later then make sure CS4 is updated to ACR 5.7 (which is the last version of ACR for CS4) However, the changes made to ACR 6.x really should be adopted since IQ for ACR 6.4.x is a lot better...

I have the same problem that the user who wrote the post "Trouble installing content files on Mac", but his post went unanswered. Here is the link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4221280. I am trying to install the adobe creative suite CS5 downloaded from the internet, and what I have is a dmg file. When I open it, there is only a read me and a folder named "English". In the read me I go to the install instructions, and they tell me to double-click in Install.app, a file which doesn't exist. What am I doing wrong?

I downloaded it from Adobe Store. When I open the dmg file I see the read me.pdf and the English folder, nothing more. Perhaps the problem is that I have already installed the program in one computer, this is happening to me trying to install it in another one. Could that be it, that I need another license in order to make it work?

After dowloading the CS5 Design Premium, I get an error messagin stating "A problem occurred while extracting the archive. Please try downloading the Adobe CS5 Design Premium again." I repeated this process multiple times (8) to no avail. I am trying to download the CS5 design premium on my new laptop, but don't have the software cds to do this. Thus, I can only download the software but after i download the two files required, that error message appears. (I already have my serial number). I have tried disabling my Antivirus as sometimes it detects the files as virus and removes them while downloading. I have also tried downloading after performing Selective Startup.
Can Adobe mail the software cds instead of sending download links?

My boss purchased AE CS5 from the Apple Store. They did not give him any discs, just the serial number. They said we would have to go to the Adobe site and download the software here.

Indeed. I'm with Szalam on this. I've never known Apple to consciously engage in deceptive business practices, but this isn't right. Your boss need to do precisely as Szalam recommends. Once he/she explains the situation, life should be good.
I hope your boss actually WENT to the Apple store and not some look-alike, fly-by-night outfit. It's been known to happen. I've seen $1000 Adobe software available for $149.95.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Adobe Application Manager CS5 downloads but does not install Spanish update on Windows 8.1 64 bit Spanish

I have a multi license for Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS5 in Spanish. I installed it correctly in Windows 8.1 Spanish 64 bit. Photoshop 32 and 64 bit start, same with Illustrator with some fix. Yet when I look for updates, 10 are found by Adobe Application Manager, but for a few days I get a message (in Spanish) that "there was an error while downloading, try again later". I do it for some days already without success. I have the same Spanish suite installed on Windows 7 64 bit (English) for some good time (2 years probably), and there the now no updates.
The PDapp.exe file is from the year 2010. Is it not too old as for Adobe?

How do I connect with chat support for CS5 downloading?

I have tried a no. of times to get support chat for my photoshop cs5. I have a new computer and it doesn't have a dvd for downloading my disc. I did talk with support chat and they recommended that I follow a link to download. https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
Here I found what I was looking for but it comes in 2 parts. After downloading, I am unable to open anything, and I get the following message: "the file archive part of Flash Pro CS5 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Flash Pro CS5. Please download all parts" I also got 'We've encountered the following issues: installer failed to initialize. File not found, Please download Adobe Support Advisor to date the problem"
I had downloaded part one and two. However, they are separate downloads, and i don't understand why it is telling me to download all parts.
Also, it is very hard finding the chat area which is 24/7. There is a place where you can see the support options, but the Chat option is not active. [The forum option is an active link].

you need to dl both the exe and the 7z files, put them in the same folder and then double click the exe.

Photoshop CS5 downloading duplicate files

How do you keep Bridge in CS5 from duplicating files when dumping an SD card in Windows 7 64-bit? I frequently have to dump 400 pics at a time and if I don't get to the backup before the next dump, I have the old files and new on the card. Unchecking 400 pics or checking 400 after pushing uncheck all is a nuisance. Isn't there any way to ask Bridge not to download files already in a folder? Now it just puts jpegDSCN2031-1 next to the original file downloaded. PSP has a very obvious "do not duplicate files" button, but I can't find it in Bridge.

Use your operating system instead of Bridge to download the pictures. I don't know what OS you are using, but every version of Windows I have used gives the option to skip Duplicates. I imaging Macs can do the same.

What is best way to make disk backup of CS5 downloaded installation?

We purchased the downloadable version of the CS5 Production Premium installer rather than waiting 2 weeks to receive it in box form.
What do you suggest is the best way to make a backup of the downloaded installers, which total about 13.8 gigs? I was thinking of putting the main one on a dual layer DVD-R but the biggest file is 9.23 gb's, nearly a gig over the data limit for dual layer disks. Is it possible to use Toast to split a disk image over multiple files or use Apple Disk Utility to compress the .dmg even further to fit? Or perhaps is the easiest way to just copy it over to a USB thumb drive?
I know Adobe allows you to re-download the software whenever needed, but it would be more handy for us to have a backup here rather than wait for another really long download...

You can buy a set of backup disks from Adobe for a nominal fee. You might want to give them a call and ask about it.
Otherwise, just back it all up to an external drive.

Adobe CS5 Download

I have a serial/license for Adobe CS5 Design Standard that was purchused from my school a few years ago. I have a new computer w/o an optical drive, and would like to install this software through a downloadable file. When i check my order history on the Adobe website, there is nothing listed, as i originally purchased the discs from my school, not as an order from Adobe. My license is listed under the products tab, but this does not provide a download link. Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

I had a very similar situation, though I'm trying to re-install on the same laptop after having to reformat my hard drive. (I purchased CS5 Production Premium, I have a serial # key, and it appears under "My Products" but not "My Order History"). I tried the direct download links that Mylenium shared (thanks!), but any time I tried to find a download for a CS5 product, I was re-directed to try CS6. I noticed that the tail-end of links had a "?PID=" followed by a 7-digit number. I don't know if that's a Product ID or a Purchase/Purchaser ID, but something appears to be diverting my ability to access and re-download the CS5 suite I'd previously purchased. Any suggestions/recommendations?
