CS5 Dual Screen Issues

I am running a dual screen which essentially creates a workspace that is 3360 x 1050.  Dreamweaver CS5 on the MAC Seems to have a mind of it's own in relationship to the space.  Is there any way to "contain" it in window like it ran in CS3 on my windows machine?

It's not invisible, just positioned twice as far away as it needs to be.
Have a look at the step-by-step instructions I posted on this thread to get your window back:

I have setup dual screen in xfce4, i have added
    xrandr --output VGA --left-of LVDS
to xfce4 startup apps. But the issue is that both screen defaults to 1024x768 and if it change the resolution to the correct one my laptop screen turn black. This is some what the similar kind i issue i face in kdemod4 but gnome work ok with with the above command.

    What video card?
    What drivers?

  • Dual screen issue

    Hi Team,
    I have dual screens. A Dell P190S (1280x1024) and a HP ZR22w (1920x1080). I have also an Intel® Q45 and Q43 Express Chipsets in my desktop PC.
When I use PS, sometimes the circle which indicates the size of the draw tool or the earse tool is freezing on my screens. Even if I close PS, it is still there or even when I lock my computer is still there.
Unfortunately I haven't found any solution for this issue.
Is it because of the different screen resolution?

OK, so we are talking about the same ball park circumstances from the historical problems with brush cursors.  I think Compaq computers are rather arbitary regards hardware and drivers, and don't usually allow much in the way of upgrading, so you could be stuck with what you have got.  All I can suggest it homing in on those paramiters with Google
Photoshop CS4 cursor issue or problem
    sort of thing.
This is the sort of hit you'll find
    http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/photoshop-cursor-problems.html
You'll hopefully find something that rings a bell or matches your circumstances closely.  Good luck.
[EDIT]  I wonder if your hardware will support Windows 7?  It has excellent dual screen support.  That irrifutable law of presentations, that 'when a Powerpoint and projector were involved, there will _always_ be a problem' has finally been broken.  If your employer was daft enough to invest in Compaq hardware, I doubt you'll get any help from them.

  • R6870 Hawk Dual screen issue

    Hey there,
    (R6870 HAWK)
The issue is: I cant get a dual screen on my card, no matter what I try.
Both screen and cables are working just fine (I tried all possible combos), but there is simply no way I can get 2 screens to work at the same time.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks...

Are you using the two DVI ports ?
Swop the two monitors around by switching the cables on the card DVI ports. Does the other monitor work when you do that ?
Also chek what DVI connectors are present on your monitors ? Do they differ ? see this guide to the different DVI connections. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

  • Simple dual screen issue.

    Hi,
for some reason ever since I rebooted my macpro the dual screen layout has switched. On my right screen is the dock and upper info bar but I want that on the left screen. It has always been on the left screen till the reboot. I cant seem to find anything in the settings.
    Thanks
    Neil toor

System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement.
Drag the menu bar to the screen you want it to be on, the Dock will follow.

  • GTX 780TI GAMING 3G dual screen issue

    Hi,
Been searching around but I don't seem to be able to hone in on the right search criteria to find anything.
I have the 780ti running dual screens. I have a nice new 144hz widescreen and I'm running an old Philips 75hz as general purpose screen next to it. I'm keeping hold of the old one at the minute as it works well with my gfs work laptop when she needs a full screen.
When I bring a game up and try and run it on the 144hz screen it tries to swap screen constantly. It flicks back and forwards across both screens at a rapid rate.
I had this working on my very old twin 4870s (you can tell how long I've been out of the game literally) but it occurred to me that I was running a screen off each card. So now I'm wondering if I can run two screens of one 780ti? If that's the case I'll just get another one which I plan to do in the future anyway. But after splashing out 2k on a new machine spending another 500 isn't going to make the gf happy.

It isn't that I want to run across both.
I wanted the game on 1 screen and another screen to put up web pages, voice server etc.
I guess it is the same difference to the card though. I may just be better of with another card and another 144hz screen.
I would've thought running the game windowed and making sure it didn't stray onto the other screen would be possible.

  • [Xorg] Dual Screen issue

    Hello ladies and gents,
I try since few days to configure a dual screen for my arch.
At least, it doesn't works , my second screen is always black.
    My configuration :
    I have a Radeon HD 7870
I've installed the opensource drivers xf86-video-ati
I use awesome 3 as window manager
The first screen is plug in HDMI on MDMI-0 (it's a ViewSonic 24" in 1920x1080_60)
The second screen is plug in DVI on DVI-1 (it's a Samsung SyncMaster 24" in 1920x1080_60)
Both of them works fine in standalone.
And both of them works fine together during the boot and the system choice (syslinux).
After the choice, black out for my second screen.
I'have done lot of tries. Any of them works.
I tried to use xrandr :
    xrandr --output DVI-1 --mode 1920x1080 --pos 1920x0 --output HDMI-0 --mode 1920x1080 --pos 0x0 --verbose
The second screen is always black et xrandr returns :
    crtc 0: 1920x1080 60.0 +0+0 "HDMI-0"
    crtc 1: 1920x1080 60.0 +1920+0 "DVI-1"
    Same result with arandr
    For information :
    xrandr -q --verbose
    returns :
    Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3840 x 1080, maximum 16384 x 16384

  • GTX 560ti Twin Frozr II - Dual Screen Issue + Silent fan speed

Hi, sorry for my bad english :p
    CPU : Intel 2500k
    Ram : 2x2go Ripjaws 1600mhz
    Mb : Asus P8P67-M Pro
GPU : 560 gtx ti twin frozr II
    EPU : Corsair 520w
    1 - DUAL SCREEN
    My first problem is that i can't use a true extended monitor configuration (1 dvi + 1 vga, 1920*1080 + 1280*1024).
Dual monitor work in CLONE MODE but not in extended.
Extended mode use 1 monitor or turn to clone mode automatically :/
EXCEPT after a NEW driver installation. So if i want to use dual screen extended mode, i have to reinstall driver each time i boot...
I have use DriverSweeper in safe-mode but this trick don't work for me. I have the last nvidia driver 270 and i have try the 270 beta driver too.
Into game? That work fine (except some artifacts who appear occasionnaly (one time in metro 2033 and one time in battlefield bad company 2) but it's not fine for a new gpu i think :/)
Can you help me to fix that dual screen problem?
    2 - SILENCE
My second problem is that i want a silent computer but the fan are too noisy.
Live Update don't find update for my vga bios (currently at 70.24.0A.00.00)
    The SN is : 602-V238-16SB1101159115
Here is a link to my BIOS version extract with GPU-Z : http://skarzag.free.fr/bazar/GF114.bin
I don't know if it can help you :p
    Thanks for you're help!

  • AP# dual screen issue or not?

Not sure how best to explain this but I posted a QT clip.
    MP 2010 with ATI 5770, 12GB ram
    Two Apple 24" leds
Screen on left shows selected image - screen on right will have the thumbs in the browser
although it will not show in this clip.
As I apple adjustments to an image, shorty after the image just disappears, then reappears.
If it does not reappear, I can hit "M" for master then "M" again and the version appears again.
Only way to stop it is to leave Full Screen mode, but the issue persists once I go back into FS mode.
I've trashed prefs etc, rebooted, AP# even froze entire MP at one point.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!!
    http://gallery.me.com/uhanna#100247

I run with full screen a lot of the time on both my MacPro and MBP without a hitch, all of my libraries and masters are on either a RAID or external USB2 drives.
You mention that you have trashed pref's etc, have you run the gamma of items that work on your library?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
    But to trouble shooting
Are the libraries/masters on the internal drive or an external, what type of drive and what interface?
Are you running any other other apps?
What file type are you working with?
Does the same thing in a new library with only a few images?
Does it only happen with a specific file type?
Does it only happen with a specific adjustment?
    A place to start...

  • Strange dual screen issue with HP Folio 1040 and docking station

    Hi there,
I have a laptop in a docking station. Two displays are connected using the docking station's DisplayPorts. Instead of showing me two separate displays like I'd have expected, xrandr seems to "see" only one large screen.
Laptop: HP EliteBook Folio 1040 with Intel HD 4400 graphics card
Docking station: HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station
    $ xrandr
    Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767

    720x400 70.08
HDMI2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
eDP1 is the laptop's built-in display, while DP2 seems to represent _both_ displays. When I select 1920x1080, the two displays show the same. When I select 3840x1080, however, the two displays show a side-by-side setup, such that X11 spans over both of them. While I'm happy that I'm now able to make use of the second display, this obviously breaks some software stuff, like fullscreen video in vlc, for example. Any suggestions what I can do about that? Is it possible to software-split the screen such that it looks like a normal dual-head setup again?

You could define two screens in xorg.conf similar to last post here. You would have to select the screen using the -display switch or the DISPLAY variable when using xrandr.

  • Dual screen issues!!

Hi, I just bought a new display, Acer x193w 19inch. I set it as my primary display, having my macbook as secondary display. my menubar and dock appear fine on my external display, but the icons are hidden by an overlay (my desktop picture), which only goes away when i use Expose's "show desktop" function. but if I just close all windows on that screen, I cannor right-click on the desktop nor see my icons. anybody have this problem?

The desktop picture is meant to be an underlay, not an overlay. Are you sure you don't just have what you want to be your desktop image open in a viewer app like Preview or something? It doesn't sound normal that the desktop picture whisk away when you hit the Exposé key. It should remain as the background no matter what Exposé key is hit.

  • Dual screen problem in CS5

I have been using dual screens with no problems until I installed PS CS5. Now when I drag an image onto the secondary screen the canvas goes black as soon as I relsease the mouse. I can see the rulers etc. and when dragging across the diaplay the image can be seen but as soon as I 'let go' it's blacked out. The really frustrating thing is that this doesn't happen in AI or Dreamweaver (or indeed any other program!).
    So far I have
    Reset the monitors
when changed to show the same on both screens (clone) the image can be seen perfectly ok on both screens
when the secondary monitor is made the primary the problem remains (i.e. the PS image is blacked out on that monitor)
Checked for updates for the monitors (none needed)
Checked CS5 up to date (no updates required)
Checked for graphics card updates (none needed) - NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS
    Uninstalled and re installed PS
Pointed in an annoyed manner at the useless window open on my secondary screen
Is there something simple that I have mistakenly chosen that is preventing the use of my secondary screen?

Check to see if nVidia has released an updated driver for your hardware.  Go to their web site to check.
Unfortunately, from my observations nVidia may have neglected to keep their driver quality up with later releases for the 8600 GT.  I have reports from some of my own customers using my OpenGL software that the driver is troublesome, and have actually reported better results from an older driver version than the very latest release.
Other things you can try to work around the problem:
In Photoshop, Edit - Preferences - Performance, [Advanced...] and change to Basic mode.
Try disabling OpenGL drawing entirely.  If that corrects the issue it's almost a certainty that the nVidia driver is at fault.

  • MSI gtx 570 twin frozr III - Dual Screen Windowed mode issues

Ok, so... I was running a solo monitor 1440x900 resolution, i recently purchased a brand new asus 24 inch 1900x1080 monitor. Basically what is happening is when i play WoW or Battlefield 3 in windowed mode on the 1080p monitor the colors are not perfect. When i go full-screen on the new monitor no issues, but that is not what i want to have to live with. When i say the colors are not perfect what i mean is, for example when i look @ the sky instead of being a smooth transition or blend from one shade of the sky to the next it is bars or stripes of each shade as if i am looking at the sky in 8 bit color instead of 32 bit color. Another thing to note is that when i login to windows 7 the blue screen where i input the password has the same effect. The 1440x900 monitor is running everything just fine. the only issue is with the 1080p monitor.
I am using DVI cabling for both, and have swapped them around to see if that was the issue, and sadly it is not. I am running the updated gpu driver, which i uninstalled and re-downloaded and installed again tonight.
When i use the HDMI cable,  that fixes the issue but i need the HDMI for my 42 inch tv.
Also in windows, just to cover my bases with this post, i have the native resolutions properly configured, as well as in the game for the given monitor it is being played on.
Anyone know of a fix for this?
    i7 2600k
    asus PBZ68-v Pro/Gen3
    Msi gtx 570
    Samsung syncmaster 953bw (1440x900)
    Asus VS248 (1900x1080)
I am more than happy to re-explain anything that may not be as descriptive or clear to you just let me know!
    EDIT!
When i run the 24 inch 1080p new monitor as my only monitor on the system, everything runs perfectly...
    Edit #2
Ok so i have pin pointed a possible cause
This msi gtx 570 struggles with operating multiple displays with different resolutions, while dual screening with my 1080p television and the 1080p display, everything runs as expected. Having to also render a 1440x900 display is probably the reason i am having the graphic issues. Is there any type of utility, setting, or other fix to this type issue? also this gpu is certainly less than 2 weeks since i purchased i could get a different card to remedy this... any suggestion? if you suggest a different card can you say so with certainty that it will work properly under the condition in which 2 resolutions will be required?

Ok, the problem is fixed and Svet i skipped a step or two. I installed the new driver with the clean install to save time for an initial attempt. What is interesting is that with the Geforce driver, only one 1920x1080 resolution was available
The msi driver gave me 2 options, 1920x1080 and 1920x1080 (native). The latter resolution fixed the issue for whatever reason.
The solution to this problem is so easy, when i purchased battlefield 3 it prompted me to download the geforce.com driver and i did not think anything of it at the time, lesson learned.
