CS5 error 6 possible downloaded version!
I have CS5 installed on my laptop but am now getting Error 6 which is telling me I need to uninstall & reinstall. Unfortunately, I cannot find my discs, I may have purchased an online download. I cannot find anyway of contacting adobe to ask if this is the case. I have the serial number registered on adobe.com. can someone please advise me how i can resolve this?
@Mylenium: Thanks for the speedy reply. I ran the tool in solution 1 through all three of its choices (run it, reboot and run it, reboot and hit 0) but it didn't change anything. Here's what it printed when it finished each time:

I continued down the list of solutions until reaching Solution 5, dealing with the PCD folder that I get a "corrupted file" windows warning for, and I follow the steps and I get stuck on step 16: Applying the "Select the Replace Owner On Subcontainers and Objects option."
A box pops up saying "Changing ownershp of:", but the box is blank and after letting it sit there for 15 minutes doesn't do anything. If I hit the cancel button it switches over to a box saying "canceling" and proceeds to hang there too. I had to use the task manager to kill the program. I then tried it again and recieved the same results
Thoughts?
EDIT: The following solution requires that I delete cache.db file in the PCD folder, but said folder is "corrupt and unreadable" and will not give me access.

After waiting 35 minutes to download the latest iphone version 4 on my laptop, the 378mg gets downloaded then 1 minute later I ger an error message 3259 with an error box that reads
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone (my name) The network connection timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and network connection active. Try again later."
I have tried this with wireless and at home with a lan connection. The computer is always connected throughout the entire process.
Any suggestions??Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software before beginning the download. Some of the antivirus software that is required with Windows does not handle such a large download very well that includes an installer.

I have installed CS5 on a macbook pro 10.9.4. I am unable to get the updater to run to update applications to most current version. It tells me there was an error trying to download the update and to try again later.
Getting used to changes in the finder. I finally did see the Adobe Patch installer and am able to update applications individually. Should be able to attend to the main apps I use w/o further difficulty. Thnx for the help.

My update keeps telling me I need to update my Premiere Pro CS5 to v5.0.4 but tells me there is an error downloading. Tried to download manually and install but it only has a link for retail DVD version and I have an electronic download version. I know CS5 is no longer supported but shouldn't I at least have some where I can download this update? Thanks
that link is the only one for pre cc app updates.
is the current downloadable version cs5.04? if yes, that would explain why there is no update for the downloadable version. you would uninstall your cs5 and install the current download in that situation.

Sammybobammy89 what Adobe software title are you trying to install? To resolve your current error remove version 1.0.6 prior to installing version 1.2.9.

I've moved to photos from iphoto and for a while all was good. And quite exciting. My entire 15k photos have migrated and are available on all my devices.
Suddenly, I get this warning when I select or try to edit a photo: Cant Download Photo: An error occurred while downloading a larger version of this photo for editing. Please try again later.
There is an exclamation mark and a warning triangle on the picture. I am only able to test on my ibook as my Imac is out of action.
If I log in to icloud in Safari, I can down load the full sized image no problem. Any one got any ideas?Well stone me, it's started working. Nothing changed on my side..... go figure.

Yes, a single serial number can be used to install on two computers and one can be a PC and one a Mac. The download will be a different installer for each platform but the serial number should activate both.

Check the apple, left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware and then the Model Identifier...has to be at least MacBook Pro3,1 to install Mavericks.
