CS5 error ? Applescript corner effect

Hello to all
I am using a CS2 applescript under CS5 using the compatibility feature version script preference 4.0. Indesign CS5 does not accept the following property when drawing a rectangle
"corner effect: rounded corner"
I got the syntax error : Expected “,” or “}” but found identifier.
This script works fine when used under CS2.
How is it possible to fix this problem?

Thank you for your answer, but changing in a list does not fix the problem, it seems that the word "effect" is not recognized.
set propSS_rond to {corner effect:{rounded corner,rounded corner,rounded corner,rounded corner}, corner radius:5, geometric bounds:{}, fill color:FILL, fill tint:FILL_TINT, stroke weight:1, stroke color:STROKE, stroke tint:STROKE_TINT}
If I used the CS5 applescript language as "bottom right corner option", this time it is not recognized as I am working in CS2 compatibility.

How to work with Premiere Pro cs5.5 and After Effects cs5 together?

I have edited my movie in premiere pro cs5.5 and made the rough cut. In premiere, i have edited the video, put in soundtrack and foley. Now, i need to add muzzle flashes & blood splatters in some scenes and final color correction using After Effects cs5.
When i import the premiere project in AE and make the changes, and then i export it back as premiere project. When i open this prmiere project, it shows vaious kind of errors and no changes are retained that i did in AE. Also, when i import the premiere project (which has 4 different sequences) in AE, all the media that has been imported in the premiere project also opens in AE making it difficult to organize the media.
How should i work now so that i add vfx and color correction using AE cs5?
I thought of exporting the video from Premiere pro and then open the video in AE and add vfx to some scenes and color correction to the full video and render it out again. But, this is the first time i am using AE and i am not sure if this is the best way. PLEASE HELP.
Or, i could import the whole project in AE, add vfx, do color correction AND then export to video from AE. But i think, it will be better if i export the video from Premiere as it has loads of options to choose from while exporting to a movie.
The dynamic link does not work between Premiere Pro Cs5.5 and After Effects cs5. Even if it does, its not working on my pc.
All the footage is in HD and i want the final result in best quality HD too. PLEASE Help!

If you are working between After Effects and Premiere Pro but with versions that are not the same number, you need to just work with movies rendered and exported as intermediate, lossless files.
Dynamic Link only works between After Effects and Premiere Pro of the same version number, and only when they are installed as part of the same suite.

I just updated "troubleshooting QuickTime errors with After Effects CS5, CS5.5, and CS6" with information about hyperthreading and Apple's H.264 encoder.
The gist is that Apple's H.264 exporter component for QuickTime fails when the computer has a large number of CPUs.

No, this applies to any QuickTime H.264 export. You can export H.264 in a QuickTime .mov wrapper out of AME, too, and it will have this problem.
The various H.264 encoding presets (for YouTube, Blu-ray, Vimeo, iPad, etc.) don't use the H.264 QuickTime component, so this isn't relevant to them.
This problem is just relevant to choosing Apple's H.264 as the video codec when choosing QuickTime as a format. This applies to all software that uses QuickTime, by the way, not just Adobe software.

CS5 or CS5.5 Adobe After Effects

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and was wondering if CS5 or CS5.5 Adobe After Effects was available still?

No. You can only buy current versions. If your machine allows, it would be easier to just upgrade OSX, otehrwise you'll have to find a legit used copy of these older versions, which might prove quite difficult...

Photoshop CS5: error when printing to Xerox Phaser 7750

Mac 10.6.5
I get the following error when I print directly to my Xerox Phaser 7750 from Photoshop CS5:
"Error: /Library/Printers/Xerox/Filters/pstophaserps failed"
All the other CS5 apps (plus Photoshop CS4) have no trouble printing.

Something doesn't add up since PS CS4 works ok. What's different about CS5? 64bit?
My guess would be that Photoshop is the only app you use that prints PostScript through the Cocoa drivers, and thus the only one hitting that particular part of the driver software.

Question of 'round corner' effects. Can't get it to work.

Hi there. I am new to Adobe Illustrator and I have a basic question. I can't seem to get the 'round corner' effect to work as seen in this tutorial:

I have used the 'Pen' tool to draw a line, and I have applied my saved brush type to the line and it works fine. The problem arises when I attempt to implement the "round corner' effect on the line, such that it bends the way it does in the screenshot above. After implementing the effect, I do not see any visible changes even when I set the radius to over 200px. The line remains straight.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

They have this al wrong.
The effect makes round corners but do not distort or change the path in any other way.
If you add a point in the middle of the line and apply a round corner it will indeed make that point into a round corner but you will not be able to see it because the path is straight.
here is a video and the paths do not have to 90º (perpendicular) to each other.

InDesign CS3 Corner Effect Script

I have tried to run the InDesign C33 Corner Effect Script so that I may change different points on a frame. However after the script runs I still cannot edit points. There is no dialogue box to manipulate the points. Mac Platform.

We double click on the script, and the window that would usually open does not. It's the script to edit specific corners.

Bueno, prueba el consejo, casi siempre recomendable actualizar, las aplicaciones y los controladores gráficos que en aplicaciones de video suelen ser la clave.
No aportaste ningun detalle de tu instalación, sistema,... por lo que más dificilmente se te puede ayudar.
El error que de forma parcial comunicabas, te ofrecía dos soluciones:
1. Consultar una página web.
2. Consultar con el soporte técnico de Adobe. Esto, para problemas aleatorios es lo más recomendable.

InDesign CS4 treats corner effects differently than in CS3

I need to fix 4000 inline graphic boxes because InDesign CS4 treats corner effects diiferently than in CS3.

Because the designers used this trick, I need to fix all the inline graphic boxes in CS4 for a reprint. I'm sure many more designers are going to open their old documents and find the same thing. All my inline graphic frames are suppose to just have one corner that is rounded. Short of selecting every frame individually and converting it to a rectangle, then running the Corner Effect Script on each one, I was wondering if Adobe planned on fixing this issue in a future release.

Hi Bob,
A script or Find/Change will work fine for one small book, but in checking with some other editorial departments, we have the potential for tens of thousands of pages we will have to adjust, and since these boxes appear every few pages (and most of these pages are seperate documents), you can imagine the impact on production time and cost. We really need something that is a more formal fix.
Going back to CS3 is currently not an option here at McGraw-Hill, as we have just finished the upgrade process for hundreds of users.

Enocore CS5 error when trying to burn to blue ray disc

My project consists of 4 AVCHD clips imported separately into Encore as timelines and then I deleted the timelines to keep just these assets. I built a new timeline and added these three clips to this timeline. Three of the AVCHD clips are on the timeline with a total time of about 3:30. The fourth is a 30 second clip used for the motion menu background. The file size is 22.95 GB. There are 39 chapters in the project, the top page (page 0) has three buttons linking to chapters 1, 21, and 30 (the start of each of the clips). The other pages of the menu have 6 video buttons per page linked to chapters. All of the clips when highlighted will lead to the project setting "Do Not Transcode" (which is what I want) and I am buring this to a 25GB blu ray disc. When I checked the project everything seemed okay- no error messages. I then went to build the disc and after about 20 minutes I got the following error message:
"Blu-Ray Object: "<Menu>NTSC_FISH top menu",Error:"device error",Code: "2",
Note: "Too many primary video streams in clip (Spec Table 9-3,Annex B)"
The menu name is NTSC_FISH topmenu. Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix this?

I went to the original motion menu source and saved it as Microsoft AVI (file name: Premiere pro avi for menu.avi) instead of AVCHD hoping that might help and then brought that file into Encore and linked that as the motion video for the top menu (the other menus don't have a motion background). I tried to animate the buttons for all the menu pages. When I click on the Premiere Pro avi for menu.avi asset the options show for DVD Transcode automatic and for Blu Ray Automatic (for transcoding). The file shows as 720X576 and it is 34 seconds long. The top menu is checked to animate buttons and I can uncheck it if I want, the submenus-start at page 1- have the animate buttons grayed out but checked and I can't uncheck these even if I wanted to. When I tried to burn this to disc, it got further along- burning 13.15 gb to disc and then I got the following error message:
Blu-ray error:File already exists",Code:"6", Note:Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1321.253267 seconds-
I am running Windows 7 64 bit, 2.4 ghz processor Quad core, 6 gb of memory and 69.1 gb free on my external hard drive and 29.7 gb free on my c drive. I have an NVIDIA GE force 8500T card. Any ideas?

Corner effects on one side only

Hi, I hope someone can help me QUICK!
I want to apply rounded corners to one side of a rectangle (2 corners); the other side (2 corners) I want to remain square.
I tried to add anchor points and pull one side to square it off, but it's still rounded... What to do?
I read in one of the forum posts to use the "corner effects sample script" -- I guess I have no idea what this is.
Any other solutions? Help please!

It should work but here's a CS3 procedure.
Create your rectangle. Add the corner options using whatever setting you
like.
Keep it selected and open the pathfinder panel. Click the convert to
rounded rectangle button.
Draw a new rectangle and place it on the edge you want to have square
corners. Click the subtract button.
Voila!

Scaling objects without scaling corner effects

When I scaled an object with Command-> and Command-< in CS3 (Mac), the corner effects would not be scaled. If I had 4mm round corners, they would still be 4 mm after scaling the object. In CS4 however, the corner effects are scaled too. Is there a simple way to scale an object WITHOUT the corner effects? I'm sure it's possible, but I can't find the answer...

Thanks, but that only works when you click and drag to scale. I am talking about scaling with key's only: cmd-< and cmd->. I can't see an option or anything to use those keys and NOT scale corner effects. Okay, of course you could say 'Well, why don't you click and drag then!' but there is a specific document I have to work on every week that almost requires me to use the key commands for scaling.

When I copy & paste a photo with rollover my rounded corner effects don't copy.

I am trying to copy & paste a square photo box with a style of rounded corners on top right and bottom left. The box has a tinted rollover effect with text that displays when the curser is over the box. I want to take this box and copy and paste several more exactly the same. When I try to copy & paste it, the corners of the box become rounded on all 4 corners and the corner effect button is disabled. Why is this happening?

Please try to drag the content from one page to another and then check.
