CS5 Indesign 7.0.3 Update Fails?
Every time I try to run CS5 Indesign 7.0.3 update it fails?
I have not moved any files or apps around. I have also tried renaming the Abode folder inside the Apps folder as describe here, but this did not work either?
Thanks for the tip. Tried the manual download and install. Same failure message. It downloads the file and runs the update just fine. But the install progress bar gets to the end and hangs until the install program returns the "Installation Failed" message.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. I was hoping this update would help in the "daily InDesign crash" department. CS4 InDesign was smooth as glass. CS5 InDesign? Not so much. Having issues with font activation, screen "jerkiness," and random crashes.

6.0.1 Update Failed to Install
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
My system:
* Vista 64 Home Premium SP1
* Single user/admin
My Adobe Apps:
* CS4 InDesign (6.0.0) Stand Alone (not part of a collection)
* CS4 Web Premium
Update process:
* Download manual patch for 6.0.1
* Extract from ZIP
* Disable Anti-Virus
* Run Setup
Results:
* InDesign 6.0.1 update "failed to install".
Attempted resolution:
* Disable UAC - no change
* Safe Mode - no change
* Download the update again in case it was corrupted - no change
The Photoshop 11.0.1 update, part of the Web Premium collection, worked by using the exact same update process that failed for InDesign 6.0.1.
Any suggestions?
-mtI have been trying to update to 6.0.1 for weeks. No success. I found the log.gz file as you suggested and opened in wordpad but the file is either encrypted or corrupt. The date and time of the file is when i originally installed InDesign. Nothing has been added either today or on previous attempts to update.
I have tried to attach the file but as it's not on your list of allowed types it may not come with the message, so here is a sample:

Updates Failed - 5 of my apps won't update
Five of my apps on CC won't update - Adobe After Effects, Flash Professional, Premiere Pro, Prelude, and InDesign. Keep getting update failed. I've tried rebooting / turning computer off then on, and updates keep failing. This is just since I've gotten the Mavericks upgrade for Mac.
I run a iMac OS X 10.9.1 - 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7.
Please advise.

Adobe CS5.5 InDesign Crashes, update failed
Indesign keeps crashing on my system. I tried to update but the update failed with the following message:

The website states that extend script toolkit 3.5.1 comes with CS6 and links to the CS6 website.
I do not want to install CS6 because I don't have a license for it. -
I am trying to download the InDesign CS5.5 update and keep getting "Update Failed" "Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine". I have done this and now have Administrator rights, but I am still getting the message. How do I apply the update?

PhotoShop CS5 12.0.3 update failed

U have the CS CS5 Masters edition and an update for PhotoShop CS5 12.0.3 came down the pipe three days ago. When I tried to update the software, it downloaded but failed during the install. There was no error code or any form of additional details other than a link to contact support which led me to download some kind of support software. It was useless probably because I don't know how it works.
Anyway, this is the first time ever I have had a problem updating anything on CS5 (as well as CS4, CS3 and CS2 for that matter).
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit edition on a Dell Precesion Workstation Laptop M6400 with 8GB RAM and two 500GB drives in a RAID 0 config with an nVidia FX3700 videi card.
Anyone else having this problem? Is Adobe aware of this problem? Is a fix in the works? If not, how do I fix this - and reinstalling is not a proper solution!

To be sure, I added it to the Windows/Temp, C:\Temp and username/appdata/local/temp to cover all temp locations that the system may use,and the update still failed.

Posted the entire text from the error window, when trying to update, using the normal NON-TECHIE way to update any and all Adobe CC products, via the Creative Cloud updater installed when Adobe Creative Cloud subscription was purchased when first offered.
The following occurs, ad nauseam:

Here's the crux of my frustration:
(1) Customer Service is NOT contact-able, to receive LIVE help.
(2) There is NO way for me to mitigate this "Download error", being a student learning InDesign, and NOT in any way capable of tweaking folders/files here and there.
Therefore, the real question:
Given that a significant number of subscribers are having the above referenced issue with attempting to download the current update for InDesign, WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO, in order to get our contractually paid-for updates to our legally and contractually paid-for Adobe software, specifically in my case, InDesgin's current update?
Please, NO TECHNICAL mumbo-jumbo which most likely will cause the overwhelming majority of users, like me, to seriously corrupt their computer files, but rather an honest, straightforward "what to do" from real CS/Engineers working for Adobe, as to how to FIX this issue, period.

UPDATE:
Here is a way in which I think I was able to "update" my InDesign CC application:
(1) Sign-In to your Adobe Account
https://www.adobe.com/
(2) Click on the MENU icon
(3) Click on the product InDesign icon
Your browser should display the page for Adobe InDesign CC
https://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html?promoid=KLXLU
(4) Click on the Download icon,
Your browser should now display the page to download InDesign,
https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/indesign
(5) a Pop-Up window should open, and display:
Launch Application
This link needs to be opened with an application.
with the first option to select being the CreativeCloud(URIHandler)
(5) Select this application and click OK.
What happened when I followed steps (1) thorugh (5) is that:
(a) InDesign CC(2014) was installed,
(b) InDesign CC, updated, and then
(c) InDesign CC(2014), also updated.
Why this all worked, is a mystery to me.
Looks like a separate, "new" version of InDesign, InDesign CC(2014), was installed, the existing "old" InDesign was updated, and then the newly installed Indesign CC(2014) was further updated.
A BIT MORE, when I launched my InDesign CC app, and checked to see if there were Updates Available, there in fact was an Adobe InDesign CC 64 bit (9.2.2) update.
I clicked on UPDATE and my "old" InDesign CC app was "successfully updated."
FURTHER INFO: I may have neglected to list some important info ... OS: Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64-bit
Confused, I am able to launch BOTH of these apps, and hopefully I may use one of these versions of the InDesign CC app, to do some InDesign work.

I am trying to update InDesign CC using the Adobe Creative Cloud App in my Mac and I keep getting an error for InDesign. Photoshop just updated fine but InDesign keeps giving me an error.

Adobe Media Encoder was the problem for me. There's no separate uninstaller for AME. My ID CC and Premiere couldn't be updated (for the AME7.2.2 update as the only change). MCMHMPEGVideoCodec.framework seemed to be the factor.
I uninstalled Premiere (only), after having manually removed MCMHMPEGVideoCodec.framework from inside AME. After boot I installed it again and voilà, both (ID & Premiere) updates went trough fine. The MCMHMPEGVideoCodec.framework was on place inside AME too. -
When trying to update my CC apps, the update fails. I get this error: Update Failed. There was an error installing this update. Please try again later or connect customer support. This is currently happening for InDesign, Photoshop and Bridge. I had this problem previous and was able to fix by doing a complete wipe of my computer and reinstalling CC. However, I should not have to wipe my computer clean everytime I need to do a CC update. HELP!

The title says it all ...
I had to reinstall Win 7 and PS CS5, and the updates fail even when opened using 'run-as-admin'. Why?If you are using Help 》updates, it is outdated. You can however go to Product Updates on the Adobe.com website and download your updates there. I am not at my desk b<t when I get back, I'll get the links unless someone else can do that sooner.

I have the same problem, but I'm on a mac 10.9. I have 2 folders inside the Adobe Patch folder inside the Adobe folder. The items have a bunch of letters and numbers.
I've attempted 2 downloads, each going through almost the whole process and stopping about 90% saying unable to install, fix the problems listed below (there was an error downloading this update, please quit and try again later). When I click on the consumer support for further assistance, it takes me to an Adobe page that says “This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another” . I have CS4 design premium, CS5 design standard, and Acrobat Professional installed.

After reformatted MacBook Air hard drive then installed OS X Yosemite. I have received “Some updates failed to install” message on Adobe Application Manager: “There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.”
However, I surfing on Adobe Product Updates website Product updates but cannot find these three affected [error] messages updates: Adobe After Effects CS5 10.0.2, Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 update and Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 version 5.0.4 update.

I'm trying to update my Photoshop CS5, but continue to receive the same problem every time. The application manager update dialogue box simply states "some updates failed to install." There's no specific error code, but a link to contact support for further assistance. It doesn't take me to customer support, but does take me to a screen which states. "Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product." I've checked my account and the product serial number is associated with my account., so I don't see any problem. I have not been able to find a resolution to this problem, so I hope that someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!
