CS5 Installation or download

If I registered my product and i need to reinstall my program but the disk is not working can I download the same program from Adobe and where do I go if I can?

Adobe does not provide downloads of older versions, but there is another site that provides most of the older trial versions of the software which you can download and activate using the serial number you have from the disc.
Here is a link to the CS5 section of that site:
http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site.

Anyone have this problem? Please help or point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks!

    Thanks Romsinha,
I tried the above steps, with no luck.  I have admin rights on both laptop and desktop I'm trying to install to.  I have updated my AAM on both machines with no issue (when using the direct link above). But when I click the 'Try' link to download an application, it shows the scrolling status bar for a few seconds, then  "Installation Failed"  'Download error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support. (-7)'   Retry only produces same results.
Both machines are running Win 7 Pro - SP1 64bit

  • CS5 installation errors

Hi. I own CS5 and Acrobat Pro 9. I recently purchased a new Mac laptop and used the built-in migration tool to move all my software to the new computer. All the key CS5 applications were working fine (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamworks, InDesign) but I got an error message for Acrobat Pro, which said...
Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop).
But I would start another component (such as Photoshop) and nothing would change. So I decided to uninstall everything and re-install it. I used the uninstaller and then the cleaner tool to get rid of everything. Then I tried to re-install. But I got installation errors, primarily...

I think I've tried this re-installation process about 12 times now. Seriously. I've been at this for more than 8 hours. I've been reading through forums, trying to find and delete various Adobe files, and I've had no luck.
Doing a clean OS install is really not an option. There are just too many pieces of software I'd have to re-install. But I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Any thoughts?

  • CS5 Installation: how to install on a disk image?

    Hi people!
Even though CS5 is completely written in COCOA, its still (rediculously) doesn't support case-sensitive HFS+ file systems. Which means I should reinstall my mac for a few apps (I can't live without)?!
It's just plain stupid. Is there any way to force the installer to install on a image? It used to be possible, but with CS5 installation the installer hangs before you can choose!
Hope somebody can help, or I just spent a LOT of money on a inferiour product, since it forces me to re-install my entire mac! Adobe! #fail! you can do so much better :-(
    Best regards,
    Fabian Tollenaar
    from Amsterdam

As they have an armv greater that armv6 you can download teh app from market or you can download it directly from: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/candidates/

  • Adobe illustrator cs5 installation

i just purchase adobe illustrator cs5 via subscription download. I have a mac... system is asking for the cd to install. I have none. Supposed to be a web download installation. help!!

Is it prompting for the DVD during the install process?  Have you tried downloading the software again?  You can also install the Illustrator trial and initiate your subscription during the install process as well.

  • 12.0.2 update for Photoshop CS5: Installation failed

The Adobe Application Manager kicks off every day now and tells me there is an update for CS5. It downloads the update and then promptly says"Installation Failed".  There is no more information.
I tried running Update from CS5 itself but it just launches Application Manager, again downloads and again gives this message.
There is no information about what failed or why.
I have an i7 processor, over 900GB free on the drive with CS5 and 12GB of RAM.  No adobe products are running other than all the background updater stuff they insist on running.
What can I do?  I have no idea how to proceed.  Google provides no hints other than similar issues with version 11 two years ago where Adobe support states they are going to provide more information on what failed in future versions (I guess maybe version 13?)

    Rant much?
I never said its not a big issue, but I was not the one calling for adobe to fire people. I posted a reply to Safari Dave and was not even addressing you or your issue.
First I would love to point out this is a "USERS" forum. Most everyone here is a user not adobe staff, they come to try to help people like you with issues simply because they are good people who like to help others.
Biggest issues "support" has with software "users" are people like you.
    Absolutly no understanding.
You rant that things do not work and are very short tempered about it.
Most of the time resistent to provide accurate and complete information and unwilling to take the steps they recommend.
People think they (support people) should just know exactly how to fix what is broken. and thats as rediculous as going to the doctor and saying fix me then complaining when he does not know what is wrong.
    take a chill pill.

    Adobe - Photoshop : For Macintosh : Photoshop CS5 Optional Plug-Ins (Mac)
    Optional Automate Plug-ins:
NOTE: We strongly encourage the use of the CS5 Optional Automate Plug-Ins Installer over attempting to manually install any of the following Optional Automate Plug-ins:
    • Contact Sheet II
    • Picture Package (ContactSheetII)
    • Web Photo Gallery (WebContactSheetII) plus presets
    • Script for Layer Comps to Web Photo Gallery

Refer to the included ReadMe file that has plug-in descriptions and installation instructions.

Note these also work in the perpetual CS6 Windows version not the Subscription CS6 version.  Some may work on the Mac however Picture Package(Contact sheet II) will not work on the MAC for Mac CS6 is 64Bit only and there was only a 32Bit plug-in for Mac CS6.  There are 32bit and 64bit versions for windows. I install these manually....

  • Design Premium CS5 installation problem on OS 10.9.2 Mavericks.

I recently switched over to a new macbook pro and tried migrating everying over with the Apple migration manager.  While Photoshop and other products seemed to move over just fine, InDesign continued crashing everytime I tried to open.  I tried the suggestions to fix this with no luck.
I have now uninstalled Design Premium CS5 and then downloaded it from: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
However, when I try to open the dmg file, which was saved to my desktop, I get an error message: "The following disk images couldn't be opened: DesignPremium_CS5_L  image not recognized."
How do I get my CS5 to install on my new computer?!  Operating system is OS 10.9.2.
I have my serial number, but it doesn't help me if I can't get the download to install on my machine...

  • How do I view and disable unwanted crap in the CS5 installer

I'm running the trial installer, and I noticed Adobe has become even more creative with hiding away all its silent-and-utterly-unnecessary payloads. In addition to defining required components in the proxy.xml files like for CS3 and CS4, there's now also a "Media_db.db" SQLite3 database with all payloads and dependencies that needs to be modified... and in the mean time no one bothered to actually fix the installer to offer us ways to not install things we don't want in the slightest.
To adobe in general: I want to install what *I* want to install, not what you want to install on my computers. I don't want AIR, and Media Player, and your own flavour of a JRE, and... well basically of the 1.5Gb your Photoshop CS5 installer wants me to install, I only need 500Mb (namely: photoshop, cmap, type support, xmp and the required fonts and color profiles). How do I turn the rest of the payloads off?
Can we get someone who wrote the installer for this -quite frankly wonderful- program on the line so that they can tell us all how we can actually control the install process so that it does NOT install all the stuff Adobe wants to force onto our systems?

Hello. I’m the engineering manager for the Creative Suite and also responsible for the installation technology.
There’s lots of topics here, so let me try to address them one at a time.
First, our guiding principle for CS5 installers was to fix the top call generators for CS4 so that the installer succeeded more frequently. In addition, we made some significant architectural changes to better enable volume deployment scenarios. There is still a long way to go before the installers are perfect; but, gauging from the overall number of customer escalations over the past days since shipping we did succeed at dramatically reducing the number of customer escalations. Volume deployment tools are not yet released and we’ll see if those help volume deployment scenarios shortly. I’m not sure from where you heard the installers were going to be revamped from the bottom up. That’s never been the plan.
Adobe has become even more creative with hiding away all its silent-and-utterly-unnecessary payloads
The intent is to make the most common installation scenarios very simple, with a second goal to give the user as much configurability as we safely can. We’re not actually *trying* to hide anything. You can find the list of payloads and their use here:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/OOBE/2010/05/cs5_payloads.html
The actual way that dependencies are determined is that each product lists its own subcomponents and how strong of a dependency that product has on each subcomponent. Subcomponents that are deemed “Critical” or “Required” do not show up as deselectable. Subcomponents that are “Recommended” or “Optional” do show up as deselectable. It sounds like the root disagreement here is the definition of what payloads should be Critical or Required vs. Recommended or Optional. Here’s the definition of the different dependency levels:
Critical –The product will not successfully launch without this payload.
Required - Without this payload the product’s primary functionality will not work as expected. The trick is defining what “primary functionality” means. Each product defines this on their own.
Recommended – Tertiary functionality does not work if this payload is not deployed.
Optional – There is no interactivity between the component and the product. Not installing the component should not adversely affect the product.
For Photoshop CS5, the installer includes six Recommended or Optional payloads: Extension Manager, ExtendScript Toolkit, Device Central, AIR, Media Player, and Fonts Recommended. Deselecting any one of them should result in that component NOT being installed. I just ran the Photoshop CS5 installer on a Windows XP system after deselecting each one of those six components and verified that indeed none of them were installed. (Note, I already had AIR on the system so I cannot really verify that AIR didn’t get installed in this particular install instance.)
Even deselecting all six leaves almost 1.5 GB to be installed. One could easily argue that many payloads marked as Critical or Required should instead be Recommended, such as Bridge. You have a valid point there.
The JRE point is an interesting one. In CS4 there were multiple copies (6, if memory serves) of the JRE being installed. Customers (and I) just didn’t know about it. Many different products just included the JRE as part of their product folder. In fact, Dreamweaver still does this today. We’ve pulled the other copies into one common payload. So now there are only two copies of the JRE being installed, the common one and the Dreamweaver one. The reason we tried to reduce the number of JREs installed is to reduce the cost in disk space to the customer as well as be able to more adequately address security vulnerabilities if one should occur within the JRE. These are all just normal JREs from Sun and haven’t been tweaked in any way; but, we need a known version to ensure the products keep running properly. If we just leverage the system version (on Mac) or a common version across the system (on Win) then we’ve encountered numerous customer escalations when the JRE is updated on that system.
Bridge in the Suite install case is also interesting. Because Photoshop has a Required dependency on Bridge, if you deselect Bridge with another product but then have Photoshop selected for install then Bridge will still be installed.
Can we get someone who wrote the installer for this -quite frankly wonderful- program on the line so that they can tell us all how we can actually control the install process so that it does NOT install all the stuff Adobe wants to force onto our systems?
I’ll try to dig up some instructions. Using the upcoming enterprise deployment toolkit is one method; but, that’s not going to be available for at least a few more weeks. It may take a few days to post instructions since we have to test the instructions before posting them. Note also that the product teams have not tested any configuration where the Critical and Required payloads are not installed, so the products may not function properly.
When I do get the instructions I’ll post them at this blog:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/OOBE/
    Thanks,
