CS5 Master Collection and Service pack 3 question

Just received the CS5 master collection upgrade from CS4 Web Premium. The minimum requirements state XP sp3. Our systems here at work are still on sp2. Will the software install? If so, what issues might I face?

Hi! I've installed Photoshop CS5 Extended trial on a Windows XP SP2 workstation, I got a warning during installation saying that my system didn't fulfill minimum requirements, but no problem after.
As I've only tried with Photoshop, I suggest you to also check with trial versions of Illustrator and Flash.

No way to talk to adobe. Web site says the upgrade should work but it does not recognize the CS5 Master Serials.

i have CS5 creative suite. I purchased a year ago have not had any issues, until now, none of my serial numbers are working. Saying they are invalid. Save for the upgrades which I do not have on my computer.

Notebook Specs for Adobe CS5 Master Collection

Hi guys, I am currently in process of buying a new notebook.
I will be running a Adobe CS5 Master Collection and few other programs.
Can you guys let me know what are best specs that this notebook must have?
I know Mac is best option but my company is not willing to get one, they are willing to settle for HP / Dell / etc…
I will need this notebook to handle multiple applications at a time (dreamweaver, illustrator, photoshop, etc etc…).
I dont want the basic specs, what more can i include to get this notebook running like a super machine?
eg. 8GB Ram, i7 processor?
What do you guys advise?

I was curious about your experience with CS5 Master Collection, since I purchased the CS4 Master Collection more than a year ago.
I had previously bought the CS3 Master Collection and upgraded. The original CS3 collection was reasonable to work with because there was a Disc for each different program. If you needed to reload a program you could figure it out. When I upgraded to CS4 which was a decent price, I figured what I would get would be comprehensible in the sense that CS3 was. What I received was (I believe 5 discs...I don't have them with me) labeled Content
and Applications. It wasn't long, because of the general 64-bit confusion, that one of the programs (Acrobat Pro) became corrupted. I wasn't sure which disc or discs to load. There are absolutely no instructions or anywhere you can go to find them. Adobe provides nothing for Master Collection
owners, or rather up-graders...try sending an email...good luck. Try calling...to find out how to load a program? By the way when I try to load one of the Content discs, I get a message that says my laptop, with all the bells and whistles, and which originally accepted the Master Collection, cannot load the software, whatever that means. I wrote several emails to Adobe asking for help, I'll even pay for it...no answer. I also subscribe to the Professional Photographers podcast and Adobe is frequently mentioned as having terrible customer service and having over-priced software. I'm seriously thinking of alternatives, but everyone uses Photoshop, which you're probably better off buying by itself. Or, you could wait for another frustrated customer to post his/her complaint to the Adobe Forums. I don't think the Adobe administrators will let this be posted, but please, be forewarned about the terrible customer service.

Migrating a Mac license of CS5 Master Collection to a PC

Hi all. I've got a box copy of the CS5 master collection and a Mac that is old and failing quickly. I was required to purchase this computer for college and it has seen much use. Macs are expensive and a new one is not something I have the funds to allocate to. I'm going to be building a PC tower (boo, I know ) because I can get the most bang for my buck that way, and as I am one of those "starving artists" I don't have multiple hundreds of dollars to spend on a new license on top of the money it will cost to build a new work computer for myself. The cloud stuff isn't really an option either.
But I digress, my question is whether it's possible to migrate a Mac license of the suite to a PC (removing the programs from the Mac in the process)?
Apologies if this has been asked already. I was not able to find an answer in my Googling or searching of the Adobe forum (just ones pertainting to PC to Mac migrations). Thanks.

Boxed versions of Adobe products usually comes with cross platform applications and serial numbers. This being the case, have you got the disks for windows in the box you bought? If so then yes it is possible to install it on your new machine with those disks and serial number.
You can deactivate the product from Apple Mac and install and activate on your new Pc. Please also note that you are allowed to install the product on two machines - laptop and a desktop but most people install it on two laptops or two desktops or laptop and a desktop.

The more they spend the faster you will be able to work. A good processor like an i7, Windows 7 64 bit and at least 4 GB RAM will be a good start, 6 or 8 GB would be good.

Hardware for New User of CS5 Master Collection

I just ordered a copy of CS5 Master Collection and was wondering what new desktop hardware setup I should get. I'm interested primarily in website developement. I would like to get a machine that could be expanded just in case I decide to get into video editing and such. The HP system.
HP is not bad, but it is expensive, it comes with a proprietary and underperforming PSU, that can not be exchanged, it is not capable of overclocking, it has very limited expansion capabilities, it only comes with a single disk drive, an outdated mediocre video card, etc. and if you add anything to the system, they steal you blind.
You are much better off with a build it yourself system or go to a custom builder like ADK.
Start by reading the articles that appear in the drop down box when you click the Overview tab, then look around this forum where there are lots of threads about systems and their configurations.

PPro and AE not installing in CS5 Master Collection

I was able to finally installl the CS5 Master Collection on my notebook, but I am having a problem with my workstation.
I can install everything except for Premiere Pro and After Effects.
I have a Boxxtech workstation running win7 64bit 8 GB RAM and an nVidia Quadro FX 3600 graphics card.
Following the suggestions made on the above mentioned thread:
Uninstalled any CS      products
Ran Windows Installer      Clean up Utility
Ran WinCS5 Clean up script      (all three options)
Ran msconfig and shut down      all but the basic MS startup processes
Rebooted
Ran WinCS5 Clean up script      (all three options) (again)
Rebooted
Logged on as the      Administrator
Installed CS5
I have tried this three times so far all with the same results: everything except After Effects and Premiere Pro installs.

Still can't get it installed.
Based on suggestions I uninstalled CS5 complete, ran the cleaners, rebooted, etc etc, result nothing installed at all
Tried this several time same result.
Went on vacation
Came back followed darkmatters suggestions and voila could install everything...except Premiere Pro and After Effects
I needed to get some work done in the course of which I allowed the installed programs to get updates.
Finished the work I absolutedly needed to do and went back to try and install AE and PPro. No joy.
Help!!?? Please!

Have had no trouble since loading CS5 (which was difficult) for the last month. Today, PS 64-bit, LR 3, AE and Mocha for AE will not open. These programs close with a similar error message “Adobe Photoshop 64-bit has stopped working. All other programs in CS5 including Photoshop 32-bit will open?
Any suggestions on what to do to correct the problem? After spending 2 weeks installing CS5 this is heartbreaking - I wish Adobe would pay for my downtime!

Hi Mylenium,
I ran the Adobe Support Advisor and it came back without identifying any errors. However, when I closed the advisor this grayed out message come up:
"Creative Suite Product Install Inspector has identified the issue(s) that needs attention. An issue report has been generated. Adobe will use this issue report to helpaddress the issue(s) in the future."
I just spent 2 hrs with Adobe Tech Service and they could not identify a problem and suggested that I remove all 3 programs and reload. LR3 almost loads - it is in "Web" trying to open a flash gallery plug in when it fails. The other programs do not open at all...
I am going to remove and reinstall LR3 first and see what happens. Then I will (unless someone suggest something else), reinstall Windows 7. Reinstalling W7 was the only thing that worked for me when I initially installed CS5 for the first time...

Having trouble Deactivating CS4 and CS5 Master Collection

I had the CS4 and CS5 Master Collection installed on my Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. I have recently reinstalled the OS and did not deactivate the software before I did this. How do I go about doing this so I can reinstall the software? The software serial number thinks that I already have the software installed because it has not been deactivated but I am just trying to reinstall it on the same computers since I wiped the hard drives.

If you're having problems reactivating your software, and have no way of deactivating its previous installation(s), then the only way to do it is to contact Adobe cust service / tech support, who with luck can work on it from their end.

This worked for me: turn off User Account Control and then reboot.

Installing cs3 master collection and cs5 production premium on windows 7 machine

I have a windows 7 ultimate machine that I would like to install CS3 Master Collection on. I would then like to upgrade the Production Premium programs to CS5.
I have the install discs for both. Any suggestions for how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Both CS3 Master Collection and CS5 Production Premium are full installs, neither is an upgrade. I have serial numbers for both.
Machine previously had CS4 Production Premium installed on it, that has been uninstalled.
Should I install CS3 Master Collection then install CS5 Production Premium? If so, do I need to remove the CS3 versions of programs included in Production Premium before installing CS5 Production Premium?

Have you tried to manually update the individual programs?
All updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
