CS5 Master Collection Update Fails Mac OS 10.9.2

Hello All,
I have a CS5 Master Collection Student Teacher Edition installed on a Mac Pro, which is licensed, registered, and works perfectly. I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro running OS 10.9.2 which I installed the entire Master Suite Collection on with no issues during the install. I use Photoshop mostly and have not had any issues using it over the past week since the installation. I noticed that the Adobe Application Manager Icon had 11 updates which I have tried to install multiple times over the past week and receive the below. If anyone could assist me I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Since CS5 is from 4+ years before the Cloud, this is not the right forum... but I don't really know a correct forum for that very old product
Have you tried to manually update the individual programs?
All updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • CS5 Master Collection Update pricing incorrect?

I don't get it. Of all the upgrades the English version is the cheapest, but in case of upgrading from a single suite to the new CS5 Master Collection, the English version is the most expensive one (Dutch, German, Italian, etc are cheaper!). Is this a mistake? I would realy like to now.

    Thanks.

Hi David - tried a reply to your email but it came back as undeliverable to the reply email address.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help. I didn't find a lot on the web with regards to this product. I don't think it's a corrupt file as the same trial files installed on other systems just fine. More on that below.
I did find a support article on Adobe discussing bootstrapper failed launches but it didn't provide any specific info. Just said bootstrapper looked for certain conditions/files on the system when launching but not what conditions etc. It said to run the CS5 cleaner but it doesn't find anything on the system because CS5 hasn't even been installed. Doesn't get that far. Install/launcher fails right after running setup. The Adobe Support Advisor app doesn't find anything either when I ran it even though the error message instructs me to run it to see what is wrong. I'm running a WinXP Pro SP3 32bit system, 4gb mem, and 500gb HD, 9800GT Nvidia etc etc.
I tried installing the CS5 trial on two different systems though at a friend's place. One was a Win7 x64 and the other a WinXP 32bit Home Edition. It  lauched and installed fine on both those systems. I had another friend install this same windows trial CS5 version on his MAC even and that went fine. In all cases this is the same CS5 trial files I can't seem to initiate on my system.
I tried turning off the firewall, antivirus and any other malware app/protection running. Nothing. Tried an install in safe mode - nothing. I even ran CS3 and CS4 cleaners just to see what they turned up which was nothing. I also tried turning off all background services using the msconfig method described on the forum here.
Honestly I have no clue what to do at this point. I figure I'm going to have to do a clean install of the OS on a hard drive and try installing the trial CS5 then and see what happens.
    Thanks again for helping!

  • Migrating a Mac license of CS5 Master Collection to a PC

Hi all. I've got a box copy of the CS5 master collection and a Mac that is old and failing quickly. I was required to purchase this computer for college and it has seen much use. Macs are expensive and a new one is not something I have the funds to allocate to. I'm going to be building a PC tower (boo, I know ) because I can get the most bang for my buck that way, and as I am one of those "starving artists" I don't have multiple hundreds of dollars to spend on a new license on top of the money it will cost to build a new work computer for myself. The cloud stuff isn't really an option either.
But I digress, my question is whether it's possible to migrate a Mac license of the suite to a PC (removing the programs from the Mac in the process)?
Apologies if this has been asked already. I was not able to find an answer in my Googling or searching of the Adobe forum (just ones pertainting to PC to Mac migrations). Thanks.

Boxed versions of Adobe products usually comes with cross platform applications and serial numbers.  This being the case, have you got the disks for windows in the box you bought?  If so then yes it is possible to install it on your new machine with those disks and serial number.
You can deactivate the product from Apple Mac and install and activate on your new Pc.  Please also note that you are allowed to install the product on two machines - laptop and a desktop but most people install it on two laptops or two desktops or laptop and a desktop.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cs5 master collection deactivate+uninstall, reinstall errors on update

    I have cs5 master collection.
I had to reinstall windows form scratch.. windows is on c:. I had to reformat that drive. adobe cs5 stores some of its files on C: and some of its files in the appointed install directory, on a data drive which was f:
    i deactivated+uninstalled adobe cs5.
formatted c: and installed windows. of course, some adobe files are still left over on f:
reinstalled adobe cs5 to same location on f:
started dreamweaver, help, update (to update cs5)
I get update errors on half or more of the products. another update gives th esame problem, it's stuck.
how do I fix? this isn't the first time I have had trouble with AAM.
also, adobe community help refuses to pin to the taskbar or start menu. I don't know why, it's an exe. also, cs5 doesn't make an icon for it. I tried creating a shortcut for the exe and dragging it to the taskbar, but this doesn't work either. I got it on there once, but I have no idea how.
    9/26/2014:
I uninstalled and deactivated cs5 and acrobat 9, did all necessary reboots, and uninstalled all adobe products.
missed a step, so wrote this windows .cmd batch file to remove adobe leftovers after uninstall and deactivate.

ah - I got it, you just say y, that's just the product code.
after a run the new revision of my removal tool, it didn't see cs5.
does the CC removal tool require any uninstallation? I would like to know, if it doesn't, that would make the uninstallation process a whole lot simpler. it should also remove adobe reader, adobe air, adobe community help if it doesn't already, adobe media player - I would assume it does this (but those aren't in the list).
I would like to see an antry where it removes everything but the adobe ID (is that a bad thing? what exactly does that do? does it remove my adobe account?) .
until then, this latest revision of my tool may or may not be of use.

  • Error when attempting to update Adobe CS5 Master Collection via Adobe Application Manager

I have a copy of Adobe CS5 Master Collection running on OS X Yosemite.
For the last few weeks, anytime that I'm prompted to update CS5, I allow it but it fails.  See the first screenshot below for details.  The second screenshot is the error log file.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Bumping this to hopefully get some exposure and replies.  Still getting this error, and not able to update.  Any ideas?

  • Switching from Windows to Mac CS5 Master Collection

I have purchased CS5 Mastercollection for windows. However I have switched my machine from a windows to Mac. I need to re install the Program over to the mac system. I am unable to download the CS5 master collection as it is no longer available on adobe website. How do I go about it?
    Thank you for your help.

    Welcome to the forum.
Normally, when one changed platforms with Ps, Adobe called that a "cross-grade," and the price to do so was about equal to the "upgrade price." As Ps CS 6 is sort of in limbo, since the release of the CC (Creative Cloud) subscription license model, I am not sure what Adobe is doing about upgrades, or cross-grades, and from CS 5.
With the CC model, there is no platform differentiation, regarding the license - one can use Ps CC on either a Mac, or PC (or one-each). Not so with the perpetual license of Ps CS 6.
I would contact Adobe Customer Support and inquire what your upgrade/cross-grade path might be. It could well be that the best "deal" would be the CC license.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Upgrade from CS2 (PC) to CS5 Master Collection (Mac) ?

Hi,  I'm currently having CS2 Creative Suite Premium (PC version), and I'm  interested to upgrade to CS5 Master Collection (Mac version). Am I  entitled for upgrade using Adobe product no 65065593, or should I use something else?  I'm a company user (not home/education). Best regards, Marti

In order to upgrade crossplatform, you'll need to call Adobe directly.

  • CS5 Master Collection Mac - Where's Acrobat Pro

I downloaded the CS5 Master Collection trial for the Mac, which doesn't have Acrobat Pro in the Trial.

    No.
Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. There is a platform swap process (from Mac to PC etc) but only for CS6.
As a CS5 owner, your choices are to either pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

  • I have CS5 Master Collection for Win.  Can I upgrade to 5.5 for Mac?

I currently have Master Collection 4 for Mac, and Master Collection 4 for Win.  I upgraded to CS5 for Win using my CS4 for Win license.
Since it costs less to upgrade from CS5 to 5.5 and Adobe doesn't allow one license key to be flip-flopped between platforms , I am consolidating all my software and am choosing OS X.
Is it possible to purchase the 5.5 upgrade to OS X by citing CS5 for Win?
    Thx!

The other possibility...and you'd have to act very fast, is to do a platform swap now of CS5. The benefit there would be that you would get to legally have CS5 and CS5.5. If you wait and upgrade to 5.5 using the crossplatform upgrade, you'll need to destroy the old CS5 media and delete the software.
Could come in handy especially for InDesign.

  • I keep getting an error (for twelve updates), when trying to update CS5 Master Collection.  I used chat, and was told to come here.
