CS5 multiscreen javascript error

When trying to view a page in multiscreen I get the following js error.
At line 438 of file C/programfiles/Adobedreamweavercs5/configuration/floaters/multiscreen preview.js.gSml.stopLive View is not a function.
How can I fix this? I tried it plain and in live view and get the same error.

Thanks Randy. I did both these things and I still get the same JS error
when I try to use Mutiview. Dave suggested I post in the HTML5 forum. I am
hoping they can help me.

  • DW CS5.5: Javascript error while executing onLoad in Date_beforeSave.htm Not resolved for me!!!

    Hello,
I'm having trouble when moving or renaming files. Linked files are automatically updated, but the following error message appears for each file: "While executing onLoad in Date_beforeSave.htm, a Javascript error occurred".
I tried the solution found in a previous discussion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/757114#757114), that is to say: deleting the .dat file located in the "Applicaion dataAdobe\Dreamweaver CS5.1\Configuration" folder. But it doesn't work.
I also tried by reinstalling the whole CS5.5 pack, but no result.
I also had trouble while installing the CS5.5 Web Premium pack (on Windows XP Pro). Maybe the 2 problems are related?... As the installation was done, an error message appeared saying that some errors occured. Here is part of the error status:
    "- 0 fatal error(s), 14 error(s), 11 warning(s)

    Please, can anyone help?

OK, I'll try to explain more clearly (excuse me if my English is imperfect, because I'm French).
In fact, I'm facing 2 problems, which could be related or not.
First, when I installed Creative Suite 5.5 some months ago, I received an error  at the end of the installation. You can download a copy of the report here: https://www.box.com/s/5m4k6xv68h00cpumwil9
However, I could use the Adobe softwares without observable problem... until those last days...
So, second and really annoying problem that I only detected those last days (maybe I didn't use the implied function before, but I'm not sure). When using DW, if I want to rename or to move some HTML files in a defined website, all the linked files will be automatically updated. As the automatic update is proceeding, I receive, for each updated file, the following error warning: "While executing onLoad in Date_beforeSave.htm, a Javascript error occurred". And I have to click "OK" to each warning in order the processus to go on. The result of the automatic update is uncertain: some files have been properly updated, some other not.
As I already explained in my first post, I tried (unsuccessfully) to resolve by those two means:
deleting ".dat" file in the "config" folder
reinstalling CS5.5 (same error report received as when I first installed).
I hope that I've been more clear that time and that you'll be able to help me! Thanks!

  • I am getting JavaScript Errors when I attempt to use the Multiscreen Preview function in DW CS 5.

Most likely the problem will be solved by removing your user Configuration folder and restarting DW as described in the first entry there.

What should be a simple web update is turning into a nightmare. I can't select any of my images to apply onMouseOver Swap Image behaviors, and I keep getting the message above.

  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 Javascript error

I was using adobe dreamweaver CS6 Without any problems
But today i tryed to open adobe dream weaver and i get A lot of javascript errors like MMinit.htm and many other startup errors.
When startup errors end then the program is starting but when i do something, example opening an html or something i get a lot more java script errors and then the program crash
I uninstalled adobe dream weaver and installed it again but still the same problem after reinstall
    Help please

Have you tried clearing the program cache file?
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
Even after a plain reinstall, DW will leave files behind that can affect your program. If you uninstall, make sure to run the Cleaner Tool before you reinstall to get a completely fresh installation of the program...

  • JavaScript error in keywords.js?

When entering or modifying 'keywords' in an html-file in Dreamweaver I seem to get the following error when switching applications and returning to DW:
While executing onBlur in keywords.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 66 of file "...:Adobe Dreamweaver CS5:Configuration:Inspectors:keywords.js": dw.getDocumentDOM().setAttribute is not a function

Do you get this error in any page, or just this one?
And you are only changing keywords in a meta keyword tag?  You do know that that tag is not used by the major search engines, right?

  • While executing findDynamicSources in SpryDataSet.htm, a JavaScript error occurred.

I'm working with Spry datasets for some time now. But now I have a very annoying problem.
When I use  the character '{' in any part of the HTML-sourcecode (HTML or JS) my Dreamweaver CS5 (11.0 build 4964)  freezes and crashes.
When I try to examine the reason (by re-bulding part by part the code), I've got the message "While executing findDynamicSources in SpryDataSet.htm, a JavaScript error occurred." . Any ideas what is happening here?
I know, DW wants to analyze the inside of XML dataset, but it's not there. It will be generated online. So while editing the source code it's not available.
    var dsLog = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("xml_log.php", "LOGS/ITEM", {filterFunc: MyPagingFunc, useCache:false, entityEncodeStrings:false});
Any clues how to solve this?
    Thanks, Pieter

    Two possible solutions
create a local file for a design time feed
use SpryDataYQLDataSet which allows cross domain access

  • JavaScript error. Need help!

    Hi,
Since 2 weeks I encountered Javascript errors when starting Dreamweaver CS6.
1st one - While Executing onLoad in BusinessCatalyst.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occured: In file "BusinessCatalyst": bcinit is not defined.
2nd one - The following JavaScript error(s) occured: At line 17 of file "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Shared\BC\JS\bc_ui_utils.js": MM.BC has no properties.
I don't know what this means and how to solve it. I've tried deleting the cache file and re-installing the software, but that didn't help. So can anyone guide me through the steps I need to take?
    Thanks in advance!
    Erik

  • Dreamweaver and Javascript error only on one site

I receive the following error when trying to select recently modified files from the files panel.
While executing onClick in SelectRecentlyModified.html, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 370 of file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver  CS5\Configuration\Menus\MM\SelectRecentlyModified.js":  DWfile.getAttributes(listItem) has no properties
I have 4 sites built in DW and only one site is giving this error.  After many days of searching the web and trying the few steps I can find on the web related to this error I still have not resolved it.
I am using CS5 Suite, Win XP, have IE7 and Firefox but my default brower is Firefox.

I've now tried that command on multiple sites, including brand new ones I created solely for testing purposes. I also tested it on the same site files on my testing server and in my Subversion repository. I got the same error message every time. This leads me to believe the problem is with the script itself.  I would really like to be able to use this feeature.
In addition, the Dreamweaver Help for this feature (copied below) suggests I should be seeing options in this feature's dialog box that I'm not seeing:
Find recently modified files in your site
In the collapsed Files panel (Window > Files), click the Options menu in the upper-right corner of the Files panel, and then select Edit > Select Recently Modified.
Do one of the following to indicate search dates for the report:
To report on all files modified in the last several days, select Files Created or Modified in the Last and enter a number in the box.
To report on all files modified within a specific time frame, click the Files Created or Modified in the Between radio button, then specify a date range.
(Optional) Enter a user name in the Modified By box to limit your search to files modified by a specific user between the dates you indicated.Note: This option is only available for reports on Contribute sites.
Select a radio button to indicate where you want to view files listed in the report, if necessary:
    Local Machine
if the site contains static pages.
    Testing Server
if the site contains dynamic pages.Note: This option assumes you defined a Testing Server in the Site Definition dialog box (XREF). If you have not defined a Testing Server and entered a URL prefix for that server, or if you are running the report for more than one site, this option is not available.
    Other Location
if you want to enter a path in the text box.
Click OK to save your settings.Dreamweaver highlights the files that were modified within the selected time frame in the Files panel.
I have set up a testing server for the site (I'm running Apache on my local Mac), and it works. Yet I do not see any option in the dialog box to indicate that I can view the files in a different location. But it's a moot point since I can't view them in any location due to the javascript error.
    Adobe, please advise.

  • Cs6 dreamweaver - javascript error with Clean up Word HTML . . .

Very recently upgraded to CS6 from CS5.5. Every now and then, I have to run the Clean up Word HTML Commands function for a client. Never had a problem before. This time, I got this message:
While executing onClick in Clean Up Word HTML.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 2012 of the "Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Dreamweaver CS6:Configuration:commans:Clean Up Word HTML.js"
The object is not currently contained in a document.
I searched through the Discussions and found refernce to deleting MacFileCache-###.dat file in the Library Configuration folder for Dreamweaver CS 6. Did that, same thing. It also mentioned deleted the entire Configuration folder. Same result.
I called tech support and was directed to go through the (count 'em) 14 steps on the Troubleshoot JavaScript page -- http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs4.html. Still no luck.
Anyone else out there having this problem? What am I missing? Help!
    Thanks, Tim

    Hi SnakEyes02,
That could be. Let me know when you have grabbed these. They were Word docs that I saved the same way I always have done (Save As, Format: Web Page (.htm)), creating .htm files that work in CS5.5 Dreamweaver and earlier versions.
