CS5 open Encore 1.5 Project

Is there anyway that Encore CS5 can open a Encore DVD 1.5 Project, both on a PC?
If not, can CS5 and Encore 1.5 coexist on the same machine?

Welcome to the forum.
I highly doubt that an En 1.5 Project will Open in CS5. I know that a PC En Project, even of the same version, will not Open on a Mac, and vice versa. Now, there have been some users, who have gotten a slightly older version's Projects to Open in later versions, and I actually was able to Open a simple En CS3 Project in EncoreDVD 2.0, with but a few little glitches.
As for the coexistence of multiple versions of En, with most Adobe programs, that is seldom an issue. The general wisdom is that one should install the older version first, and then the newer version. I do not recall reading of multiple versions of Encore, however. Maybe others can comment on the possibility, or on the limitations. Since En is built around the Sonic AuthorCore modules, there could be conflicts, that do not exist in other Adobe apps.
Wish that I knew the definitive answer, but good luck,
Hunt

  • Cant open Encore 1.5 Projects in Encore 5.1

    Hi there,
I have done a lot of projects with Encore 1.5. A while ago, when I bought a new PC, I updated to Premiere Pro CS 5.5 (with Encore 5.1).
Now I tried to open one of my old 1.5 Projects in the new version - bam, the program crahes. Tried this with all projects (more than 10) - same effect with all of them. The project files are still ok and work fine in Encore 1.5, but it is impossible to open them in 5.1.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Robert

Easiest step is what John suggests.
I'm not surprised that an Encore 1.5 project won't open in EN 5.1. But it is interesting to speculate as to why.
For one thing, the pars changed at CS4. I wouldn't expect that to crash EN, but who knows.
You can experiment by creating a new EN CS5.1 project, importing the menus from the old project folders, then import as timeline the old transcoded assets. If that works, then work on navigation.
Starting over is not that bad if your navigation is not complex.

  • Opening Encore 1.x projects in Encore CS3

Does anyone have a plug-in, tool, workaround, or app that can convert older Encore DVD 1.x projects into something that can be opened by Encore CS3? My company kind of waited 4 years despite my advice to upgrade our video editing suite, and we've thus made the jump from Encore 1.0 to CS3. None of my old projects will open unfortunately, and I'd like to update them to use some of the improved features.
I suppose I could re-install 1.0.1 as a compromise, but I'm afraid it may interfere with the CS3 software already installed...anyone know if the two can co-exist nicely together?
    Thanks in advance!

  • CS6 on Windows 7 - when I try and send my project to Adobe Link, then to Encore I repeatedly get the error message "Encore has stopped working, windows will close the program".  I get the same error message when I try and open Encore on its own.  Help wou

Both when I open Encore as a standalone program, and when I try and export my work via Adobe Link to Send to Encore, I get the same error message - "Adobe Encore has stopped working.  Windows will close the program.  Help would really be appreciated.  Thanks.

Now that is impressive Stan, thankyou!  So simple ...  I don't suppose you know why the "build" button is greyed out do you?  Don't worry if you don't have more "magic dust" at your fingertips, I'll re-check my settings again, and again ...  Thanks for your help.  Doreen.

  • Any exporter developers interested in an open source plug-in project?

Most of the discussion here in the past few months has been about exporter  plug-ins, so I know there's no shortage of exporter developers on this  forum.
There is a very useful frameserver plug-in that's used to export video out to a tiny signpost file, which can then be used as an input file for other programs.  This has been a crucial part of the workflow for those using other applications for video processing or final encoding.  This exporter has been maintained and updated through CS4, but the original developer, Satish Kumar is unable to continue working on the project to update it for CS5.  So he's made his plug-in open source here:
    http://code.google.com/p/frame-server/
Meanwhile, those who used it up through CS4 are voicing their interest in seeing this exporter working in CS5:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/727162?tstart=0
So if any developers are interested in contributing to a open source plug-in project, you have one waiting for you.

Just wanted to provide an update this thread - the exporter has been brought forward to CS5, thanks to some coordination between interested users that were willing to pool their donations together and pay for a developer.  Very nice to see this project taken care of!

  • Must I forever have a CC subscription to open a CC PrPro project in the future?  My CS6 will not do?

Maybe there's something Adobe have said about accessing my own project files that I may have missed?   At present I can open a CS6 PP project in CS5 but without access to new CS6 features I may have used like the Warp Stabiliser etc.  That's the sort of functionality I would expect from CC PrPro - capacity to open a CC project file in CS6, but without new CC features.
My reading of the various forum discussions about this, all point out that there will be no way to access my own CC PrPro projects ever again unless I have a subscription. For instance it would not be possible to retire, cancel my CC account, and then go back a couple of years later and put together a compilation.  I would need to take out an annual subscription just to work on my own project?  Does Adobe really intend this to be the case?
Their $600 per year charge (from next year) is consistent perhaps with permanent up-grade purchases, except that with CC it seems that I will really only be renting the software.  I have been hoping for instance that Adobe would release an audio synch feature for multi-cam editing. Now that it's finally in CC however, I find I can buy it for $200 from PluralEyes to work with CS6.  Suddenly this seems an economical solution.
With Adobe emails emphatically pointing to their August 31 deadline for upgrading, I thought I would buy for sure.  However after a quick scan of the forums I thought better ask the question in the title myself.

Here is the deleted Reply from CC_merchant.  (first time I tried to send it off-forum but hasn't worked)
Once you start renting CC, you are at Adobe's mercy. There is no way out. You can't access any material you created without a valid subscription. You can't use any previous perpetual license, since there is no backward compatibility to CS6 or previous.
If you start renting, you are putting yourself in a situation where you are being held hostage by Adobe. There is no way back!!!
Staff, of course, will deny this with very vague promises and a lot of air. Some early converters are already showing signs of the 'Stockholm Syndrome', which has been bound to happen... :((

  • How to open your Photoshop Touch project file in Photoshop

How to open your Photoshop Touch project file in Photoshop
When your files are stored in the Creative Cloud, you can access them on your mobile device using Adobe Photoshop Touch, or on your desktop computer using Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop Touch can open files in the following formats: PSD*, PSDX, PNG, JPG, and GIF. And, with a free plug-in for Photoshop CS5, CS5.1, and CS6 you can open the PSDX files created by Photoshop Touch in Photoshop.
[Note: PSD files can only be opened via the Adobe Creative Cloud. The file is converted,  layers are flattened to a single layer, and  other info that is only supported in Photoshop is removed.]
Download the plug-in (if you have CS6, skip this section)
    1. If you have CS5 and CS5.1, you are required to download a plug-in to be able to open your PSDX files in Photoshop. If you have CS6, you are not required to download the plug-in (it is native within the version). In a browser on your desktop computer, navigate to the Creative Cloud Homepage ( https://creative.adobe.com ). Sign-in to Creative Cloud using your Adobe ID, then navigate to the Creative Cloud Apps & Services page (https://creative.adobe.com/apps).
    2. Click download under “Touch App Plug-ins” to start the download and install process. Included with the installer is a plug-in for Illustrator CS6, which enables opening of Ideas files (.idea) in Illustrator, and a plug-in for Photoshop CS5 and 5.1, which enables opening of Photoshop Touch files (.psdx) in Photoshop.
    3. You will be asked (if you haven't already) to install the Adobe Application Manager. Follow the steps to install the manager, and the Touch App Plugin should begin the download and installation process. If it does not, click install next to the “Touch App Plugins” icon in the Adobe Application Manager to start the process.
    4. You're all set to start opening your PS Touch files in Photoshop CS6.
To save a Photoshop Touch file for upload to the cloud.
    1. Launch Photoshop Touch and ensure that you are in the organizer view. (Tap Done in the upper-left corner of the screen to move from edit view to the organizer view.)
    2. Tap to display the share menu.
    3. Select the file(s) to upload
    4. Select the file format to upload to the cloud. Then tap OK.
    5. Once you save the file format, you have a choice to e-mail the file as a attachment, or save a copy. By pressing cancel, it still can be uploaded to the cloud.
Uploading PS Touch files to the cloud.
    1. Tap the settings button in the top right corner.  Then tap My Account.
    2. Tap Sign in. Sign in with your Adobe ID. To obtain an Adobe ID, go to : https://www.adobe.com/account/sign-in.adobedotcom.html. Once you are signed in, the total storage available in your Creative Cloud is displayed.
Sync your Photoshop Touch files to the Creative Cloud.
    1. Tap the Creative Cloud icon. Make sure the Sync files toggle is switched to the on position.
    2. When Creative Cloud sync is turned on, you can see your files being synced to your Creative Cloud account.
Open a Photoshop Touch file in Photoshop
    1. On your desktop computer, launch a browser and navigate to the Creative Cloud website. When you are signed in, navigate to your Photoshop Touch file. Click to select the file.
    2. Tap the download button in the top right corner.
    3. When the download dialog button pops up, select PSD. Once the file has been downloaded, you can open in Photoshop (CS5, CS5.1, CS6) on your desktop.
    4. When the file is opened in Photoshop, it displays its layers (Note: that if the file is dragged and dropped, and NOT downloaded, it will not display the layers).

Lightroom 5.3 should be able to open D600 RAW photos.
The problem is most likely that you used some version of Nikon software to transfer the photos to your computer. This interferes with Lightroom's ability to read the files. If the files are still on your camera card, use Lightroom to directly access them from the camera card. If they are not on your camera card, you can still fix the files, see http://forums.adobe.com/message/6181267#6181267

  • Can't open Encore

I go Start: All Programs: Adobe Master Collection: The Encore Icon comes up and does it thing for a few seconds and then, Bleep....it goes off screen, back to my desktop.
All my other Adobe programs will open from the Master Collection???
I want to open a project to begin learning how to use Encore to author my edited project in Pre Pro CS3. I can't get it to open.

    Thanks Again

I found this and thought it was interesting:
"Re: How to fix Adobe Encore CS3 Crash ! ! ! READ by Abel Del on Jun 1, 2008 at 8:31:24 pm
Hi there!, I tried to load a cd/dvd on the drive...did not work!.... After a couples of days I finally hit the jackpot! ..here is how fix the Adobe Encore Cs3 Crash at the beginning..
The Issue was the Windows CD/DVD ASPI drivers for my DVD/CDs drive/s. yes!!!!! encore get stuck on the splash /loading screen when is displaying the "Come for the blu-ray, stay for the flash".  so here is the fix that worked for me:
Before you try anything else, give the latest drivers (version 4.71) from Adaptec a try. They are supposed to work under 98/ME/NT/2K/XP and don't care if you don't have an Adaptec SCSI card installed. http://download.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi_471a2.exe
The first thing to check is to make sure that you have a fully functional set of driver files. Adaptec has produced a tool called ASPICHK which will tell you all about the health and version numbers of the drivers on your system.
when you unzipped the files inside there is a tool called "aspichk.exe".  then if you are running XP just double clink on the "aspiinst.exe" , reboot your system and done!!! to ensure that the you new drivers are installed run again the "aspichk.exe".
hope this helps!!! it worked for me like a charm. after trying everything. Adobe Encore CS3 load fast as ever!!! SWEEEET!!!!  cheers.  Abel"
This is what I read. The only difference is he was working with XP-32 bit.  I am running Vista-64 bit. They are not intended for Vista-64. I tried to run http://download.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi_471a2.exe before I realized that and it did not work.
I just though this might be of some interest to you folks. I was excited until it woud not work on my system.
Oh well back to the HUNT...

  • Opening previously good CS3 project hangs at 79%

Hi, we have a fairly straightforward project that has been fine up until now.
When attempting to open, Encore CS3 (in CS3... no upgrade) goes through the process of finding the various assets, apparently successfully.
Then it just hangs at 79%.
Is there a repair/troubleshooting process I can go through? I tried opening the project file in a text editor but it's clearly not XML like a Premiere Project!
    Matthew P

Darn.  Not being able to type at login sounds like an issue mine has every so often, although if you don't log in RIGHT AWAY on mine, you have to force it down and restart because when you type, it pinwheels and never stops.  Mine also hasn't been able to restart or shutdown so I haven't been able to apply updates.

  • Premiere CS5 to Encore 5.1 Blu Ray track from six mono wave files

When preparing a 5.1 mix for a theater presentation, I had repeated trouble trying to get a blu ray disk to reflect the 5.1 mix our sound engineer created, so, having had success this time, I wanted to record my procedure.  You gurus might catch something I missed, so critique this where necessary:
I'm running Windows 7 Professional, Premiere CS5 and Encore CS5.
You will need to purchase the Minnetonka Surcode for 5.1 ( http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56&Itemid=74)
    Mine installed without any hitches.
In your Premiere sequence, make sure you create a 5.1 Master audio track.  (Very important)
    Create 6 5.1 audio tracks
Import your six mono wave files.  (L.wav, R.wav, Ls.wav, Rs.wav, C.wav, LFE.wav) but DO NOT drag them to the timeline yet.
Right click on each .wav file in the project panel.   For each one, select Modify -> Audio Channels
In this dialogue box, you can select mono, stereo, mono as stereo, or 5.1.  Choose 5.1.
Each of your wav files should be mapped to the proper representation of the 5.1 icon, with the black dot appearing where the final name would imply. (the *c.wav file would match the icon as it appears below.
Continuously click on the icon will bring up new channel options. (see illustration below)
For more info on channel mapping, see:  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/WS1c9bc5c2e465a58a91cf0b1038518aef7-7f46a.html
    (continued..)
When all your wav files are mapped to the master 5.1 audio track, you can drag them to the sequence and  you can export your audio file.
    File -> export -> media
My objectives was to get an *.ac3 file to drop into my encore project, since I had trouble with dynamic link, so the next step for me was:
Format:  H.264 Blu-ray (note export audio only didn't give me the 5.1 surcode option, but I got it this way:)
    uncheck export video
export settings, h.264 Blu-Ray, Dolby Digital, SurCode for Dolby Digital
    Our engineer recommended:
    Dialog Normalization should be -31
Dynamic Compression should be set to none
The export resulted in an AC3 file that was a perfect match to the sound mixer's file on his end.

You can skip the Modify step and just route the tracks from the Mixer.

  • Cannot open my PPRO CC project anymore

    Hello everybody,
Premiere Pro CC crashed during my work on a big project (french TV show). When I tried to reopen my project, Premiere start normally, begin opening the project (orange bar loading) and when the orange bar is approximatively arround 20% of loading, Premier hangs and nothing happend. So I can't open my project anymore.
    - I've checked my Auto save and they are too old to start over from
    - I tried to unzip my corrupted PRPROJ file (rename XXX.zip and extract, then add .xml extension) and open the extracted xml in XML Wrench. Run the integrity tests in XML wrench and everything is ok.
    - I tried the MAC software "Pro Maintenance Tool" from Digital Rebellion to repair my project. The software tells it's repair but the new project doesn't open, exactly as the old one...
    - I tried to import the corrupted project in a blank new one -> start loading then freeze
    - I tried to open the windows corruped project in a Mac version, on an other disk, without medias : same problem.
    - I'm trying to scan the delete file in my project folder hoping that PR has left some footprints of any temporary files while saving my corrupted project, before the crash...
I'm completely lost and can't afford to spend more time trying to recover my project. Does anybody have an idea to save my life ? ...
My corrupted project can be downloaded here : http://we.tl/B2SsrfApdQ
I home someone can help me... otherwise I will have to redo all my work
    THANK YOU !!
    noar
    My configuration :
    Premiere Pro CC 7.1
    Windows 8.1
PS : Why my autosave are so old ? From yesterday... It's configured to save every 15 mins and keep 20 copies. I've got only 5

    noar,
I have completely flushed my machine of all things adobe, including flash and acrobat. I first followed this page for the cleaner tool, which I have used before:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation -problems.html
Choose clean everything for all adobe products.
I also used (for mac):    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows. html    to remove flash player...not certain if that was necessary, but I figured there are likely some shared directories that I would be deleting, so I let the adobe product do the job before I did it manually.
From there, I went as far as removing all adobe system/user libraries. I first copied those files to a seperate drive prior to deleting them.  I also copied the media cache files prior to deletion so that my footage would not need to re-conform on reopening the project files. I am osx, so the paths will differ, but I believe from memory, that the adobe library filestructure is very much the same on both platforms.
From there, I ran a disk utility (defrag), recycled my machine, re-installed creative cloud, then premiere, after effects, photoshop, bridge, extention manager, and audition.
After the full re-install, my saved project files (pre-'undo' crash, or reopened from crash and saved) opened much faster than before, peak files and conform files ran much faster. The software is much more responsive.  I have not experienced an 'undo' issue as of yet and i will certainly update if I do. However, the Adobe QT32 Server is still on lockdown, so that will take further involvement with the adobe engineers to understand what that issue causes or doesn't. Also, the copy I had saved of a 'crashed' file tried to open just the same, so I'm considering that file corrupt and have removed it from my system, as well as all associated autosaves.
Hopefully you are back to editing! What's your show called?
    Cheers.

  • Why can't I open Encore

I get this symbol when I attempt to open Encore. The same notice apperas after rendering a project in order to burn a DVD

OK, a couple of things to try. Not sure exactly which order I'd attack in, but let's try it this way:
1.) Invoke the error message. Immeditatley open Windows' Even Viewer and follow along with the suggestions in this LINK. It's a PE article, but should apply to En. Might be some worthwhile clues there. You will have to dig around a bit, as these clues will likely be hidden amongst all that cryptic code.
2.) Try a Repair Install from the DVD. You start the install like normal, but once the installer has initialized, and your system surveyed, you should see a list of the programs on the DVD. Check En. This will usually lead to another survey of the installation of En. You should get two options:
         a.) Uninstall
         b.) Repair Install
It's b.), that you want. If you have missing, or broken .dll's, etc., this should replace them with good ones from the installation disc.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS remember that with the Repair Install, you will first initialize the installer, just like a normal install. Be patient.

  • Project Pro hangs while opening a schedule from Project 2010 server.

    Hi,
We have an issue with opening a schedule from Project server 2010. Project client is not responding. when we try to open schedule in PWA. I am getting unable to open file do you want to open in default view. No matter which view I choose keep getting the
same error. The only view i can see resource view however it will not let me edit. I did notice Project Manager had entered resource names first, last name format which do not exist in our resource pool.  We can open other schedule except this particular
    one.
    Thank you

Obviously, my first thoughts are that this plan is corrupted in some fashion. Entering Resource names differentluy should not cause this issue, they will just not be recognized as Enterprise Resources by the system.
Are you experiencing the issue if you try to open the schedule from PWA? If you are able to open from PWA, try publishing it from PWA and see if it throws any errors.
Also, how about trying it from a different machine?
And finally, it might be worthwhile to check if you have the latest Client Update for Project installed (or atleast matching with the server).
    If none fof these work,
    a) you could try restoring it from Archive Database (assuming you have a daily schedule backup running)
    b) If you are able to open it from another machine, you could use the "Save for sharing" feature to try and resolve any corruption with the schedule itself.

  • PLEASE HELP!!! GARAGEBAND CRASHES WHEN TRYING TO OPEN OR CREATE A PROJECT!!!!!!

When I try to open or create a project in garageband 11 (running osx 10.9) it just crashes. The spinning wheel just stays there.

The new Garageband hates me too. Everytime I turn around there seems to be another bug with it. You should still have the old garageband available to you on your hard drive, but this may help. I didn't have the same problem you did, but my loops would not play any sounds until I went to Garageband -> Prefrances -> Audio / Midi, Change Ouput and Input device to System Setting, uncheck Audio Units, Check Global Echo and Reverb and hit reset MIDI Drivers for good measure. Then restart garageband.
Nothing I have given you is a solution, just work arounds saddly. I don't think there are any solutions until they fix the bugs.
