Cs5 Photoshop extended conflicts
I have recently purchased adobe Cs5 Premium and have conflicts with photoshop Cs5 Extended, Adobe are saying it's Apples fault, the problem is the panels are sticking like if they are snapping to guids and the dropdown lists won't drop, layers can't be fully opened, sometimes if I move the mouse in slow stages I can move panels and can sometimes see all layers. I think Adobe are just passing the buck, I would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions.
ps All other software works well in this area.

Like any other program - double-click the setup.exe on the DVD. You merely have disabled auto-play on your system.

I have a MacBook Pro, CS5 photoshop extended
I have installed the photoshop CS5 extended on 1 laptop, and want to download it again to my 2nd laptop. It says it can go on 2, if owned by the same person - which is does.
When I put it into the CD slot on MacBook Pro - it pops out? Its also doesn't show in the Finder.
Any advise please?Are you able to read other DVDs/CDs in your optical drive? You might also want to try being on AC power when inserting the DVD.

How to download cs5 photoshop extended
I have previously purchased CS5 extended and I have found the download installers, however when I download it, I receive a huge winzip folder full of stuff and I have no idea what to do with it????

I have lost my original installation disk and just wish to download this version...Yes. I don't know what to do once I have downloaded the winzip file. There are 2 files and it wont let me download the 2nd file, only the first. but I cant/don't know how to install it from all those files inside the winzip file, lol

CS5 Photoshop Extended - How do I ... ?
1. Make the magnifying glass act like in CS 4 where if I try to draw a box around an area I want to enlarge, it will enlarge that area instead of bringing the thing humungous?
2. I did my first knock out of a hand and did my clipping path. But, when I placed it in InDesign, the white square box still shows as if no clipping path at all. I tried going to no clipping path and back to the Photoshop one. I tried Detect Edges, but still get the white box. Is there something else I need to do? Thank you.In cs5 when you select the zoom tool, uncheck Scrubby Zoom
in the tool options bar.
I don't think you need a clipping path for indesign, since indesign has no problem
reading transparency.

CS5 Photoshop stalls, unresponsive
PS opens fine. Then stalls and is unresponsive (spinning ball for 5+ minutes) even if I don't have anything open. If I do have something open (even a 3mb jpg) it's also extremely slow. I'll just try to move a window around and everything freezes for 5+ minutes. I just end up force quitting. Been trying to get around this all day. Tried reinstalling PS. No luck. Ran the update, no luck.
I'm not a pro at photoshop, so maybe there's something simple I'm missing.

As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem. -

The biggest difference is the 3D feature set is only available in Ps Extended CS5. Exclusive to Extended CS5 also are timeline for video editing, Dicom format support, Stack mode blending, analysis measurement tools, and some 32-bit painting capabilities.
Some things have changed for the Photoshop Extended CS6 version, mainly enabling more of the video editing features for both products.

I cannot update Photoshop CS5, Bridge Extended after a fresh reinstall.
It's running in 32 and 64, but there's all these quirks.Like Bridge crashing in 64 but not 32. Raw also.The ATI Radeon5450 is often problematic (not capable of Open GL) In fact, I've been unable to work for a month now. Also, I can't tell if I've got Extended, I tried a downloaded install as well as from my original disk.

Upgrade CS4 to CS5 design standard - want Photoshop Extended
try as i might i cant find a way of calling a sales agent on the adobe website. i am trying to understand the following:
1. what is best way of getting photoshop cs5 EXTENDED without the nonsense of being upsold by adobe ...ie i have CS4 design standard and want photoshop cs5 extended. - do i need to upgrade photoshop individually and at a much more expensive price ( and then in due course each component individually at higher prices?) or is there a way to get photoshop extended in the CS5 design standard suite'
2.. Does lightroom3 actually SYNC to flickr ( or facebook, or picassa) or just transfer?
3. is there actually a sales number to call for helpNo. You do not have a Photoshop license...you have a Creative Suite license.
Unfortunately, Adobe does a pretty poor job as far as this type of information is concerned but as I said earlier, the only way you can get to PS Extended is by upgrading to Design Premium.

Upgrade to Photoshop extended cs5
I want to upgrade from Photoshop CS5 to Photoshop EXTENDED CS5 on my Mac.
The problem: I can go through the whole installation process without any problems. But when the installation is finished and I start the software, there are no EXTENDED functions visible anywhere.
I've repeated the process several times, always with the same results.
Hope very much that someone can help me. (Adobe won't. They're all up in the cloud!!!)
WamenzThe download is the same one for the Extended and the Standard versions of Photoshop.
It is the serial number that you input that determines whether you see the extended features or not.
Presumable you have a serial number for CS5 Standard.
Your quandary is that Adobe won't help you because CS5 is obsolete and no longer sold. Therefore you cannot buy a license for CS5 Extended at this time or at any time in the feature.
If you really need the Extended features, you need to upgrade to CS6 or adopt the subscription model with monthly payments f o r e v e r… The moment you stop the payments, your software ceases to work abruptly at the end of the month. -
Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open
I saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
System Specs:
Win 7 64
6 core I7 processor
32gb Ram
3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)
Maybe 8 textures
Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?No, more VRAM is useless. I had the same thought as you so I tried with a friend's computer with 3GB of VRAM for 8GB RAM (mine has 1GB VRAM for 16GB RAM). Still got the same error message. Sorry guys but our files are lost until Adobe fix the error in Photoshop code. I hope in the future they will find a way to either fix this error or give a clear limitation, it is really a shame such a dangerous problem exists and persists for more than 3 photoshop gen.
Still you may be able to have at least a flat image of your latest file by trying to open the file as smart object. I started my work over by doing that. Not a lot but better than nothing.
However for my new file I am trying something different : Each time I think a 3D file is final, I do not rasterize it but make it into a smart object and save the new smart object into a single separated .psd file. If any change is needed I can still edit all of my 3D objects by opening them separately. So far it works, the global file is lighter with few to no 3D objects inside but I will not say it is a 100% no-risk method yet.
Last advice I can give everyone : Before closing the file you are working on, save it as a copy (File / Save as... and check 'As copy' in the options below) then with your main file still open, try to open the copy. You may need a lot of memory if your file is heavy but still if the dreaded error message appears when you try to open the copy then remove or rasterize some 3D objects in your main one. Save again as copy and try to open the copy until you do not get the message anymore. -
