CS5 Photoshop Printing - Unable to change paper settings

I am trying to set the size of the print, but unable to do so. If I try to select the print settings button under the Copies number, the only thing that happens is that the print button in the lower right flashes. I am unable to set page sizes, basically access the printer options/settings. I'm also getting the bluish/redish tint which means color management is turn on. Since I can't get to the settings, I can't do anything. It was all working under CS3, I now have Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3. Mac OS X 10.6.7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks, that helped. Still have the red tint in the prints. I turned off color management and it didn't really help. Ran into this before, wound up being the Apple espon driver was causing it. Epson had me download the printer driver from them and that fix it. So going to try that next.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does not then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case try the following on your original library:
If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Commadn+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

WRT54G v8: Unable to change some settings via the browser interface

I have a WRT54G V8 router which I'm trying to set up as a wireless access point.
I purchased it some time ago and flashed the firmware to version 8.00.2. I see there
is a newer firmware version available, and I'm going to try flashing that to see if it
helps, but wanted to ask here first.
The problem is that when I connect to the router using a web browser, I can see
the administration pages, and even change most settings, but some settings
just snap back to their previous values.
For example, I go to Setup -> Advanced Routing, and change Operating Mode
from Gateway to Router. When I do, I see it changes to Router, then I see it
talking to the HTTP server, and then it changes back to Gateway.
This also happens in other areas, like trying to enable MAC address filtering -
it won't let me enable it, and the Security Mode setting (under Wireless -> Wireless
Security) - It won't let me select WPA2 Personal, among others.
Note that I've had this router for a while, but decided to change how it was configured
today, so I started by pressing and holding the reset button for >5sec to reset it to
factory defaults and went from there.
I'm assuming there must be some settings which are preventing these from taking,
but I can't imagine any setting which should prevent me from enabling the MAC
address filtering.
Just in case this matters, I have the router connected to my in-home network using
one of the 4 Ethernet ports, and don't have anything plugged into the Internet port.
Also, I have turned off the DHCP server, and assigned a static IP address to the
router. This is the IP I'm using to connect to the router's administrative pages via
a browser running on one of the other PCs on my in-home network.
The wireless access point is working, in that I can connect to my in-home network
with my wireless client (laptop).
Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks, Yes, I did reset the router. Just to clarify:
- I was having the problem where making changes to some settings would cause the settings to revert back to the original settings. In fact, the settings would switch back before I would have a chance to click on the Save Settings button. Clicking on the button after the settings changed back, of course, saved the original setting. For example, I would click on a drop-down control to change a setting, see the browser communicate with the HTTP server, then the drop-down would just snap back to the original value. It wouldn't allow me to change it to a different value.
- I reset the router, including holding the reset button for >5 seconds to force a full-reset. This didn't help.
- I attempted to update the firmware with the latest version for my router (yes, I double-checked that I had the correct version for my router/version). This failed with a strange message and required that I do another reset of the router.
It was after this failed attempt at the update that the problem went away. Now, I am able to change these particular settings and the changes stick.
At this point, I updated the firmware to the latest version and it worked. After this, I am still able to make all the necessary setting changes and the router is performing as I need.

We have developed a enterprise-wide application using .Net. When the user tries to print the reports, he would like
to get control on the orientation, paper size and font size. Can anyone help me on, how to provide this option to the user
while printing reports ?
We are using Crystal reports which came bundled with Visual Studio.

What version of .NET and Cr assemblies are you using?
Any CR Patches installed?
Is this a Windows or WEB application?
How are you printing, from the Viewer/Browser Print button?

Unable to change mouse settings in System Preferences

Using a standard wired USB Apple Mouse (oval shape with scrolling nib and squeeze option for the 4th button), the options in System Preferences seem to have no effect. Have tried configuring the secondary button (to emulate right click) and nothing happens. The 4th button used to function as "Mission Control" but now there is no effect. Is it possible the mouse hardware no longer works? It's less than a year old.
Some other information: I recently reinstalled the iMac to make room for BootCamp and Windows 7. Could that process have soured to mouse settings? Right clicking (same mouse) works in Windows 7 so I doubted the hardware problem.
I've followed steps for removing HID plists and stuff from the Library/Preferences area, but no joy. Is there some other troubleshooting I can perform to get this feature working again? It *was* working before the reinstall, but now isn't.
BTW: I'm aware of the "<control>click" to get a right click going, but when you get used to using something and are very productive in that method it is difficult to just "change the way I'm doing it" so please help me to find the cause for this issue instead of teaching me new ways to do things.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Unable to Change Photo Settings

HELP. I'm just learning iMovie 6 and am creating a slide show of pictures to music for my daughter's graduation. I am unable to edit some pictures when I go under Media/Photo Settings. I have found that the photos I cannot edit have a Media File type of Clip while those that I can edit have Media File Type of Still. What have I done wrong. When I try to edit the Clip files the screen is black and although I can turn off Ken Burns effect or something it does not make the changes. I feel like an idiot and cannot figure this out.

A good place to start when iMovie is acting up is to close down iMovie and trash the file com.Apple.iMovie.plist file located in User(your name)/Library/Preferences. iMovie will create a new .plist file on relaunch. Before relaunching, do a permissions repair using the Utilities/Disk Utility application on your Mac. Always a good idea, as well, to make sure that all of your iLife programs are updated to current versions, particularly Quicktime.
I see that you are running Leopard 5.1. Whenever you upgrade any any program or operating system, you should do a permissions repair as described above.

How to change Presets in Photoshop Print.

The attached photo is of Photoshop / Print / Presets. Current, Default Settings & Last Used Setting are all the same & none of the values to the right can be changed. My question is this; is this normal for Photoshop or should the valus be adjustable? If so, how because mine cannot be selected to do so? Using Photoshop CS5 Extended on Mac OS X 10.7.2 iMac.

Neither Delete or Duplicate are selectable in any of the three settings; Current, Default or Last Used Settings. I can create a new Setting but nothing can be changed in the Menu on the right side.

Photoshop Paper Settings Do Not Maintain

I have a few customers that are using Photoshop CC. When they select custom page sizes in their printer settings and go back out to the Photoshop print dialogue box the paper size reverts back to the default size; in this case letter. Does anyone know if this is a know bug? I originally thought it was, but now that I have multiple users with the issue, I'm thinking it could be something else.

Because Illustrator uses older printing APIs than Photoshop on Mac and Windows.
Photoshop is using the newer printing APIs, and hitting more bugs in third party printer drivers that do not correctly implement the newer printing APIs.

Unable to change site navigation settings

Hi,
I am unable to change navitation settings for a site with the site telling me I do not have permissions.
1) I am a site collection administrator and also an owner of the actual site
2) I was able to do it before, for some reason it stoped working and is giving me the permission error now
3) I can use the error page to send request for permission, however, it comes back to me to approve
4) One colleague, although only owner of one subsite, is having the same issue for this subsite. It used to work for him also.
I found this article here and asked our admin to check the permission. He confirmed that running custom scripts option is and always was disabled.

The reason why it stopped working is something else though.
Allowing to run custom scripts can probably solve the issue but I would like to fix it without that. If the reason is elsewhere, so must the solution be.. or, I hope.

I am able to click on the Navigation in the site settings and the site opens fine. I make my amendments to the settings and only when I try to save it, I get the error saying I do not have permissions.

How to change Network Settings on iPhone OS 3.1.3 on my iPhone 3G?

I'm using the iPhone 3G locked with Bharti Airtel in India. Airtel, for a brief time was authorized to unlock the iPhone 3G after the completion of contract period of a year but, now it doesn't.
Airtel has three network settings but I'm unable to change the settings. I need to change it to use unlimited data plan. Is there any official way to change it? and if not, will it possible to change the settings after I unofficially unlock it? Please suggest.
P.S. I'm running the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3

The ability to change the APN settings on the iPhone depends on the carrier file. Basically the carrier has told Apple if they want the settings to be enabled or not. In the case of the iPhone in Canada all carriers do not allow for the APN settings to be changed, and it would appear that Airtel is the same.
If the iPhone is being used properly with the carrier that the iPhone is locked to there should be no reason to change the APN settings.

As far as unlocking the iPhone goes the only way it to see if your carrier will unlock it for you. According to Apple you are correct in saying that Airtel does not offer unlocking, but you can always call them to double check.

Hacking the iPhone is not recommended, and can not be discussed here on this forum. You can search Google, but if you are running 3.1.3 hacking your iPhone to unlock it might not even be an option.

Hello, I use Premiere Pro CC 2014 on my Mac Computer. I am unable to change the settings in the preference of Premiere Pro. When I change a setting and click "OK" Premiere doesn't respond. I can click cancel and the window closes, but when I click ok the window does not close. Since Premiere doesn't respond when I click ok, any setting that I have changed remains the same. I tried reinstalling the program, but after the installation I still have the same issues. Does anyone have a solution?

Can't change country settings

I've been googling a lot and searching the Spotify forum but simple can't find a solution for my case.
My case:
- I'm in Belgium, Spotify shows in my account that I'm in Belgium
- I just can't change the country, even when I want to pay, the several countries are listed but when I click 'USA" it simply doesn't take it
- I have a VISA card from the USA and I want to use that card, and pay in dollars.
When I proceed trough the payment the Spotify site tells me that they can't accept my creditcard since it's from another country then Belgium, of course it's from the USA...
I even tried to put up a fake IP (in the US) through Hotshield but still doesn't work...
I just want a Premium account that I can use in Belgium and pay with my American VISA!
Can someone please help me!?

That is priceless!!! Thanks! I sure needed a good laugh after spending/wasting hours & days trying to either get my c6280 to give up on its Ink System Failure fixation, or find a decent replacement. Unfortunately I need the Smart Web Printing feature that I guess only HP has, or I'd try a different brand. And now even HP has very few models with that available.
My error msg is a little different from those previously stated, but close: 0xc18a0201. Even tho there were frustrations with my c6280, I did like several of its unique features which are hard to find now under $100. I hate how HP (& I suppose other brands also) are CONSTANTLY changing models & then of course ink cartridges.
Oh heavens, I've had the c6280 a whopping 2 1/2 years! I'm sure they want us poor slobs to have to buy a new one every year & a day! To say nothing of the exorbitant prices for ink. And now if this one is really dead in the water, I have SIX unused #02 ink cartridges which I cannot return---I got them in a combo pack, & for some reason have wound up with THREE lite pink & THREE lite blue cartridges, while having to buy extras of the other colors, that ran out before the others!!! Yeah, & what's with that not being able to print in BLACK if a color runs out????
Anyway I really loved your essay! It's a classic! And says it all! I hate that we have to be 'slaves' to the electronic 'wonders'!!!

Lost ability to change paper size in Lexmark Printer Pro901

I have been using a Lexmark Pro901 printer. Up until now I would hit the "print setting"button and I could then select paper size, type of paper, etc. I have now lost that ability. Lexmark says it is a photoshop problem ( the printer works fine in other programs). I have updated all the drivers,etc in Photoshop CS5 ver. 12.0.4x64. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, I seemed to have fixed the problem. Since I had to make some prints over the past few days, I sent my images from Lightroom to Photoshop CS4 for printing. In Photoshop, I saved my paper settings in the printer driver, selecting the proper paper type and ink level, etc.
Now that I went back to Lightroom, that saved setting shows up in the printer driver dialog (as it should) and I can now select the Paper Type/Quality for any print jobs in Lightroom! No more missing options in the printer dialog!
All this makes me wonder if there was a corrupt file related to the printer driver that Lightroom could not understand, which led it to miss out some options. Now that I saved a set of options in another program, the file is now parsed correctly???? Just a guess.
