CS5 pixelation on the retina display mac book pro

Is there an update for CS5? I need it for photoshop, illustrator and indesign.
Thanks!

Is the update for Retina display support still in the works? - it would be great to know. I just bought a Macbook Pro with retina display and would like to upgrade to the latest retina update. - I'm using CS5 photoshop, illustrator, inDesign, acrobat on it now and it's very pixely. . . . not so good, . . . I have an iMac that I use at home and CS5 is fine on mountain lion. it's very nice in fact. - Just would like to know! -
Thanks!

  • Since the price for mac book pro is much expensive than others for the same configuration, give me some reasons that why choose mac book pro?

I like Apple for both iPhone and iPad and I consider to buy a Mac book Pro recently. However, I haven't used mac book before. I have a alienware which is pretty good and I am much comfortable with it. I compared 2 laptops and I found for the same price, the configuration of alienware is much better than Mac book Pro.So why I need to buy the Mac book pro for a higher price? Don't tell me because it is Apple, tell me some details! For those of you who are familiar with mac book pro and loved apple deeply, please convince me!

I guess that really depends on what you would use it for, and how you use a computer.  Alienware is geared for gaming and intense graphics displays, but a MBP is designed for general to hardcore users, and in my opinion, for multimedia purposes.  One positive thing about Apple is that it works well with Apple hardware and software, and that it is user-friendly.  Sony is like this too, that it works well with with Sony products, but my experience with Sony is not as user-friendly.
For me, if I were into Windows based gaming I would go with Alienware.  If I wanted and used Windows based software and wanted a quality and long-lasting laptop, I would get a Sony.  (There was a study on laptops in 2010, founded that Sony laptops outlasted the other brands (HP and Acer were at the bottom).)
Apple is more well-rounded and functions smoother compare to PCs.  So, no pun intended, it's all apples and oranges.
If you are deciding which OS, you should based your decision on your needs, wants and functionality, and maybe long-term budget.
So for example, I'm not a computer gaming (that's what console gaming is for me).  I like to compose music with my guitar and keyboard, like editing home videos, I'm an newsletter editor for my non-profit and HOA, I do statistics, I surf the web and stream media, and I do photography as a hobby.  So for initial cost, ease of operations, quality, longevity, and total long-term cost, the MBP was my choice.  I had considered Dell, Sony and Alienware.  To me, Sony and Alienware was like buying a Cadillac, and Dell like a Buick.  So I decided on a Lincoln.  Apple best fit my lifestyle and long-term budgeting for computers.
FYI...Why I suggest long-term budgeting?  Is because over the last decade, I've been through three desktops and four laptops.  The Sony laptop outlasted them all with seven years, with only one hardware problem (two if you count the end).  The worst ones are tied between HP and Compaq.  Over the years my friends with Macs averaged seven to eight years of usage, so I estimated, I could have spent about the same or less by about $2,000 by buying two Macs: depending on configuration and models.
So there's my personal experience and opinion, of course.  I currently have a Linux (for testing), Windows (wife uses it for gaming), and MBP at home.

  • Installing CS5.5 Design Premium on new Mac Book Pro

I own CS5.5 Design Premium. It's on my desktop, I need to install it on my new Mac Book Pro laptop.
Successfully downloaded "DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.dmg" entered the correct serial # in the first window, then it asks for it again and will not accept it.
    What to do?

if you have an upgrade serial number you are being prompted for the qualifying product after entering your cs5.5 serial number.  select it from the dropdown and then enter the qualifying product's serial number.
enter the correct number at the correct time and installation should proceed.

  • The New Thinner Mac book Pro "15 in"

    Hi All,
Im Simply a PC user, who started to like Applle Products Since i ever Using a iPhone 4
Basically Im a Graphic Designer,Like i told you im a Pc User,I want to upgrade Myself to Mac book Pro.Reading Rumours on Various Website Says there will be New Thinner Mac book Pro Available By end of April,So do you Guys Suggest me to Wait or go ahead and Purchase the Currently available thicker Mac book Pro "15 in"
    Please Suggest me
    Thanks Guys

It's just how your post reads, that may bother a few folks. You're asking a perfectly legit question, though... which is how to best invest in a MBP, and to me, at least, that's reasonable.
Personally, I love the current MBP design, and I don't know if I'd like something thinner as much. More importantly, though, Apple is going to release OSX Mountain Lion "this summer", and, if I had to purchase a new laptop now, I'd certainly wait until the units with Mountain Lion as the default OS have been out for a while. Hardware isn't supposed to be too affected by major OS releases, but you know, it always is. Apple will make some adjustments to their machinery to ensure ML runs smoothly. Count on it.
Besides, the next generation of displays will probably be better.

  • I would to know what is the better option, mac book pro with CA on, or use with battery until it`s  discharge

I have one doubts if is preferable  work with mac book Pro all together with battery and to connect it when discharge or  work with the connected to CA cable.
I read in somewhere apple do not recomended work with the CA cable all the time, but in other articles said that its no problem if you realize a complete cilce of discharge an charge one time at month,
    thaks for help

Keep it plugged in when near a socket so you keep the charging cycles down on your LiPo (lithium polymer) cells / battery, but not plugged in all the time. When not being used for several hours, turn it off.
And best "tip" is if its near a socket,...plug it in as long as you can (especially at home) since cycle count on the battery are the "miles that wear out the tires (battery)", however again, not plugged in all or most of the time.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
"Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time."
General rule to remember of Lithium batteries is:
Never drain them LOW  &  never store them HIGH
While cycle count is commonly seen to be the “miles” on your Lithium Ion pack cell in your Macbook, which they are, this distinction is not a fine line at all, and it is a big misconception to “count charge cycles”
*A person who has, for example, 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 50-60% remaining of a 100% charge has better battery usage and care than another person who has 300 charge cycles at say 15% remaining on a 100% charge.
DoD (depth of discharge) is far more important on the wear and tear on your Macbook battery than any mere charge cycle count.  *There is no set “mile” or wear from a charge cycle in general OR in specific.    As such, contrary to popular conception, counting cycles is not conclusive whatsoever, rather the amount of deep DoD on an averaged scale of its use and charging conditions.
(as a very rough analogy would be 20,000 hard miles put on a car vs. 80,000 good miles being something similar)
*Contrary to some myths out there, there is protection circuitry in your Macbook and therefore you cannot overcharge it when plugged in and already fully charged
*However if you don’t plan on using it for a few hours, turn it OFF (plugged in or otherwise) ..*You don’t want your Macbook both always plugged in AND in sleep mode       (When portable devices are charging and in the on or sleep position, the current that is drawn through the device is called the parasitic load and will alter the dynamics of charge cycle. Battery manufacturers advise against parasitic loading because it induces mini-cycles.)
Keeping batteries connected to a charger ensures that periodic "top-ups" do very minor but continuous damage to individual cells, hence Apples recommendation above:   “Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time”, …this is because “Li-ion degrades fastest at high state-of-charge”. This is also the same reason new Apple notebooks are packaged with 50% charges and not 100%.
LiPo (lithium polymer, same as in your Macbook) batteries do not need conditioning. However...
A lot of battery experts call the use of Lithium cells the "80% Rule" ...meaning use 80% of the charge or so, then recharge them for longer overall life.
Never let your Macbook go into shutdown and safe mode from loss of power, you can corrupt files that way, and the batteries do not like it.
The only quantified abuse seen to Lithium cells are instances when often the cells are repeatedly drained very low…. key word being "often"
The good news is that your Macbook has a safety circuit in place to insure the battery doesn’t reach too low before your Macbook will auto power-off. Bad news: if you let your Macbook protection circuitry shut down your notebook at its bottom, and you refrain from charging it for a couple days...the battery will SELF-DRAIN to zero (depending on climate and humidity)…and nothing is worse on a Lithium battery being low-discharged than self-draining down to and sitting at 0
Contrary to what some might say, Lithium batteries have an "ideal" break in period. First ten cycles or so, don't discharge down past 40% of the battery's capacity. Same way you don’t take a new car out and speed and rev the engine hard first 100 or so miles.
Proper treatment is still important. Just because LiPo batteries don’t need conditioning in general, does NOT mean they dont have an ideal use / recharge environment. Anything can be abused even if it doesn’t need conditioning.
    From Apple on batteries:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1446
    Storing your MacBook
If you are going to store your MacBook away for an extended period of time, keep it in a cool location (room temperature roughly 22° C or about 72° F). Make certain you have at least a 50% charge on the internal battery of your Macbook if you plan on storing it away for a few months; recharge your battery to 50% or so every six months roughly if being stored away. If you live in a humid environment, keep your Macbook stored in its zippered case to prevent infiltration of humidity on the internals of your Macbook which could lead to corrosion.

  • How to clear the cache from Mac Book Pro

What is the simplest way to clear out the cache from my Mac Book Pro?

I will also endorse Thomas_r's comments.  If anything, I would use OnyX, which is a well known maintenance tool.
Beware that there is also an "onyxmac" website, which is malware and to be avoided...
The OnyX developer is Titanium software, here:

I originally installed the software on Mac Book but removed it when I passed along that computer to my partner. I installed on MB Pro with no problem. Now cannot install on new iMac. Cannot deactivate on Mac Book because there is no Adobe software on the computer. How can I activate on the iMac?

    Call support to reset activations.

  • Lost the APPSTORE on MAC BOOK PRO 10.7.5

I have updated, now running 10.7.5 and I have no APPSTORE. I know it 'can't be deleted' and I may have done something myself when I pulled the ghosted question mark off my dock that appeared where the APPSTORE used to be. I have searched using SPOTLIGHT, Looked in the Applications folder through finder, in the Applications folder on the dock. I still have Safari, which a lot of people seemed to have lost along with the Appstore.
I think it's preventing me from having access to a promotional deal on a piece of software that is only being offered through the App store. When I click on the link to the Apstore that's being provided by this company through this page:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/crazytalk7/id551903255?ls=1&mt=12utm_source=dj_ct 7mac&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=partnership&utm_term=MacTab1&utm_source=WhatC ountsEmail&utm_medium=DJ%20All%20Subscribers%20-%20Last%20Updated%2020080416%20- %20AutoSync&utm_campaign=20120926%20-%20Wednesday%20-%206AM%20Reallusion%20eblas t
It opens iTunes and tells me "Product not avaiable in the U.S." and the Safari page just goes blank saying it can't open with a url starting with "macappstore".
There is no APP STORE in iTunes. When I click the menu under the APPLE in the left corner App Store is there and does nothing when I ckick it. Nothing opens, nothing tells me it's not working, nothing.
If I search the App Store for this product all I get is songs with the app title in the names, no apps and not the one I'm looking for.
I feel like I'm missing out on a really good deal on software I've lusted over for a long time.
Where can get a new App Store App???

Well that was pretty scarry. It took it's time, don't know when it finally finished but it re-installed and after two self starts it came back. Still no App Store anywhere and when I click on App Store in the Apple menu nothing happens.
I did back up with the time machine and I may just go back to a time when I know I had it and see what happens then.
This is enough for me, Thank you for your advice I do appreciate the effort.
Don't know what's wrong - miss Steve more than that I thought I would. I sure hope  Apple isn't changing too much. Wife won't get a new computer because of the mess with FOXCONN, can't the richest company in the world do better then that?
    Thanks again.

  • Is the 17 inch better than the 15 inch mac book pro?

Which one is better to get and use? 15 or 17 inch?

I have both. One is not necessarily better than the other, really depends on what you plan on using the computer for. Even though the 17" is classified as a portable computer, IMO it's not very portable at all. Go to a store, view handle each for yourself. The 17" is quite large, mine sits on a desk as a desktop replacement. In terms of performance, equipped the same(processor, RAM & GPU), there is only about a 3% performance gain with the 17". Not enough to write home about. The big advantage of the 17" is screen real estate. But, if you want portability, get the 15".

  • How do I transfer files from mac with snow leopard to a new retina display mac

What is the easiest way to transfer files from my old mac(2008) snow leopard to my new retina display mac book pro?

Easiest? Well there is some sort of wireless transfer thing, but I hear it takes FOREVER like several days and it's glitchy.
The Retina doesn't have a Firewire port I believe, so Target Disk Mode is out, unless you have a adapter and I don't know how well that will work out. Cost another $30 for the adpatper I bet.
    The likely most easiest?
Run down to any computer or office store and pickup a powered external USB hard drive that's the same size or larger then the old Mac's boot drive.
Boot the old Mac and download Carbon Copy Cloner.
(or use the TimeMachine if it asks, but it takes a reallly long time and if there are problems, then it's harder to recover files from)
Format the external drive in Disk Utility with Partition: option GUID and OS X Extended Journaled (default setting)
Use CCC to clone OLD A boot drive to External Drive B, takes about a few hours depending how much stuff you have.
Hook up drive to new Mac, (either clone or TimeMachine drive)
Use the free Migration Assistant in your Application Utility folder to transfer over, but creates a new user account (you can later delete one)
Or if you haven't set up the new Mac yet, when you do set it up during that process, you can transfer from the External Drive B and it won't have the account you set the machine up with naturally just uses the ones from the clone or TimeMachine drive.
Once your fine and dandy on the new machine, then Disk Utility erase and use the external USB to create either a bootable clone with CCC or a TimeMachine drive for backup.
Since you need a backup drive anyway, this method is better and happens to be reliable and easy.
    Most commonly used backup methods
