Cs5 plugins in cs6

HI
Do all plugins from cs 5 work in CS6? For example, the HOT CAD tools or cvalley tools, astute graphics has a cs6 version for phantasm so we;re good to go there.
any ideas?

No , CS% plugin may not work in CS6 , it would be better to contact the Plugin Manufacturer.

I think those plugins build with the CS6 sdk should run under CS5 without much problems.

Can't open CS5.5 in CS6

I got a couple of CS5.5-INDD from a partner. Some of them I can open, some I can't. InDesign CS6 freezes and must be closed. I can reproduce this problem on a Windows 7 64-Bit and a Mac OS X Lion Computers with both InDesign CS6 Creative Cloud.
I asked another colleaugue to open the files in CS5.5 to save them as IDML. She can open the files without problems and create IDMLs. When she sent me those IDML though, I get the same problem as when opening the INDD: InDesign freezes.
I tried several things to get the files (CS5.5 IDML or INDD) opened:
* Reset the preset file
* Deactivate plugins
* Restart the machines
Both installations of CS6 are new and up to date. Is there anyone else having a similar problem with CS5.5 to CS6 incompatibility or any ideas on the topic?

But we can't get a crash report. Is there any other way then the described one? I can post lines from amt3.log if it helps.
That's odd. What happens when you Send Signal: Abort? Nothing? Does the app close with no crash report? Is this 10.7.3?
amt3.log isn't going to help, it's about licensing.
Did you try using a different user account? Easy to do and solves some problems, sometimes.
With repsect to the sample report, yes, Peter is correct, it appears that ID is invoking the paragraph composer. But that's not really a complete sample report, it's only 24 samples. Did you run Sample from Activity Monitor, or did you just let OSX generate it on its own from the Force Quit dialog?
Still, if there are footnote irregularities, that might be a place to start looking.
Do you have references to another InDesign document in your documents, such as documents placed inside other documents, or cross-references?
You could try installing the CS5.5 free trial and see if that replicates the problem...

Problem porting CS5.5 to CS6

I run into a problem when I try to port a CS5.5 plugin to CS6. I get the following error message:

Solved the problem:
In the compiler settings under:
General ->Output Directory set: ..\release\SDK\
General ->Intermediate Directory set: .\..\objR\<projectname>\
Compaire with the compiler settings for the samples.

Liquify CS5 opens on CS6!

I use Liquify a lot. I noticed that sometimes the CS6 version of Liquify doesn't open and instead the old CS5 version shows up.
Restarting Photoshop works sometimes but not always...
I have to try 3 or 4 times sometimes...
I have the Additional Plug Ins (from CS5) selected on the preferences. Turning it off seems to invoke the right Liquify, but I've been using CS6 with the additional plugins from the beginning so it is random...
You can clearly see in this screen shot that I have PS CS6 open and then Liquify is the one from CS5...

Please, go remove all the CS5 plugins that you copied to CS6 by mistake.
You should only have third party plugins in the CS6 plugins folder.
And if you have the CS5 plugins folder as the "additional plugins folder" then go turn that preference off ASAP.

Incomplete UAD plugins in CS6

Hi. I am having an issue with my UAD vst plugins not scanning/showing up fully in Audition CS6. Alomst 75% load alphabetically, but the full feature set will not. I have tried rescanning as a system admin, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Previously they loaded with no issue in CS5.5. Any guidance is appreciated.

Can you tell me if you are using Windows or Mac? And which version of the operating system?
Are you using UAD 1 or 2 and what version of the UAD software? Can you attach a screen shot of your UAD effects submenu's in both CS5.5 and CS6 so I can compare to the my systems?
We have changed the way we organize effects menu in Audition between CS5.5 and CS6 that might make the effects appear in different sub-menus.
First, we removed the strict channelization requirements, so it is no longer necessary to have the menu's broken into Mono, Stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and Other sub menus. This allows the mono and stereo effects to be listed right next to each other, and will appear different than CS5.5.
Second, we added the Category sub-menu, which will place effects into sub-categories based on type. Example: All compressors will be placed into the Dynamics sub-menu (if the plug-in manufacture added that meta-data to the plug-in). This would cause some effect to be in different locations by default then they were in Audition CS5.5.
Third, we allowed the user to organize the effects menu 5 different ways: None, Vendor, Category, Vendor then Category, and Category then Vendor. This allow you to select how you have your effects organized in the effect menu. Setting this back to the way CS5.5 did it will allow you to more easily see if the effects at truly missing or just in a different sub-menu. The default for CS6 is Category then Vendor. The closest match to CS5.5 is the Vendor selection. This can be found in "Preferences>Effects>Sort Effects Menu By:".
If you find that the plug-ins really are missing and not just in a new sub-menu, can you clear the CS6 prefs, launch and scan again to see if all of the plugins show up?

Dw cs5 to Dw cs6

Hi I've just moved from Dw cs5 to Dw cs6, all the site files are in the file folder like you would expect but the pages don't open properly, just the CSS file seems to open and I'm not sure about that, and none of the associated files show on the bar above where the page opens. can any one help please Jeff

CS5.5 to CS6 free upgrade - Why can't I get a disk?

I have been trying to convince someone in support at Adobe that we would like a hard copy disk of the CS5.5 to CS6 free upgrade, however they keep sending me a link to Creative Cloud even though I have talked to customer support until I am blue in the face that our IT department wants a hard copy to use for my download? We purchased the hard copy of CS5.5. Can I pay the $20 charge for the hard copy?

I purchased 5.5 and am looking to get the complimentary CS6 upgrade. Customer service for some odd reason do not want to discuss how to obrtain a disk. Last time they sent me a link to Creative Cloud ...... for what reason I do not know, except maybe this is where you can download from the internet. Our download is too slow and I need a disk.

Mini Bridge Layout Changes from CS5.5 to CS6

I recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6 on my work PC and I noticed a real annoying change with the layout of the Mini Bridge, specifically in InDesign. I was really hoping (and praying) that there would be a way to get the layout back to the way it was in CS5.5.
When the Mini Bridge is open the way it used to be was split at the top with the left side with favorites and the right side with a file navigator. The favorites portion was always there and did not disappear when you clicked on a folder, rather it just loaded the file list up in the bottom portion of the window. I REALLY miss that. Now in CS6 there is a drop down bar that is a pain to use and navigate through and when you click on the favorites (or any other option) it loads into the only navigation bar when you click on a folder it does not display the folders inside of it, instead just files in the folder.
Is there any way to get the Mini Bridge back to the original way? Is there an option I can click to get it to display the favorites list at all times and go back to the way it worked in CS 5.5?

I've found mini bridge is unusable when it is docked. If you float it then favorites is on the left.

This is my great problem: After installation of Maverick on my MacPro Early 2008, when i launch Photoshop (CS5 or CS6 version) in my secondary monitor don't appear the palette of the struments by my works, but is only on surface by primary monitor!!! ...and my image is on the deep. It's impossible to work on this mode!!!
If i register the "Works Area" after reimposted palette of the tools ( Level, History, Color...ecc.ecc.) when i restart Photoshop ...the windows by second monitor is on the primary monitor!!!!
What's appened???

I had the same problem and it was driving me nuts. Thanks to conradchavez.com Blog.
Multiple displays: If you put panels (including the Tools panel) on a secondary display and then switch applications, those panels may snap back to the primary display when you switch back. To avoid this, open System Preferences, click Mission Control, and turn off Displays Have Separate Spaces. Mavericks ships with that option on, so if you want to position Adobe application panels and windows on multiple displays you should turn off that option.
You will have to log out before it works. It worked for me.

Copy and paste from CS5.5 to CS6 help

I work at a newspaper and we recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6.
When I open my CS5.5 documents to copy and paste type it shows up like a graphic in CS6.
If I make a text box and paste the type into it, it is unformatted.
If I copy and paste an image from CS5.5 and paste it into my CS6 InDesign document it appears, but not as a linked file.
Why would this be different now with CS6? It is really a hinderance considering we use parts of ads over and over again in the newspaper industry.

I haven't upgraded to CS6 yet, but I'm having this very problem with InDesign CS5.5. If I copy and paste the box in InDesign - vector or text - it pastes as an image. If I copy/cut selected text with text tool - even if it's copying and pasting in the SAME text box - it pastes unformatted. This happens across all documents, but most irritatingly when working in the same InDesign document.
Checked all preferences in InDesign and even cross referenced it with another Mac with the same version, but every setting was the same. Adobe won't help unless it's CS6 annoyingly, well they will if I pay!
Other than removing and reinstalling the whole package, I can't think of what else to do!

Anyway if you work on a windows system ,are you sure you run Configurator 2 as an administrator ( right click on Adobe Configurator 2 program icon > run as administrator) in order to export your panel to the cs5 plugins/ panels folder ?
