CS5 Reinstall Error: Serial Number Valid, but no eligible product code. Chat not accepted. What now?

I am trying to reinstall CS5 from my disks (I also tried an online download) and continue to get this error:
The serial number you entered is valid but a qualifying product cannot be found on this computer.
I don't have a serial number for an earlier version and when I click the "your account page," I get a 413 error (Header length too large).
What should I do?

    I bought Acrobat XI Pro ($199) and download the trial application.  when I enter serial number, return message "Serial number is valid but a qualify product could not be found on this computer.  I have another computer tower right next to this one that has Acrobat X (but I cannot retrieve existing serial number.  On my Adobe Account it only indicates that I have Adobe ExportPDF annual.  How do I get XI Pro to work or get a refund of my money?

    If you registered AA X, then you should be able to get the SN from Adobe Support.

    Purchased and downloaded/installed Captivate 7 but get 'serial number valid but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer' error.  I have checked serial number, checked that I purchased correct version (7) direct and not an upgrade but the drop down list tha tthe window shows is only previous 6 versions and it is 7 I purchased/installed and is opening.

    Captivate thinks you bought an upgrade.  Adobe Support will have to help you. 
    I went through this (with an upgrade) but my qualifying product was also an upgrade, and Adobe didn't list my original product (CP2).  So there was no way to put in all the info. 
    And, just FYI, keep that serial number handy.  Even after Adobe Support fixed my Captivate so that it will run, every once in awhile...for no apparent reason...Captivate will start in "trial" mode and I have to re-enter the serial number.  It always works after I do that.  But, it's a pain so I now keep the serial number posted on my bulletin board for handy reference.

    trying to register adobe acrobat xi pro and message came up stating that the serial # is valid but no qualifying product on the computer  - it is downloaded

    I have the same problem also with CS6 extended.
    does the same apply when reinstalling an upgrade? I reinstalled the upgrade only on win8 with the correct password but also get the message about product not qualifying. Would I have to reinstall the original as well?

  • Error serial number CS6 Master Collection

    I try to install Adobe CS6 Master Collection on my Macbook, but it gives the error: "The serial number you entered is invalid. Please try again." But it is the first time that I am able to install this, because previously my software on my Macbook was not updated enough. Now I have updated it until the required software.
    Does anyone know how I can solve this? I did not even got the chance to use this CS6 Master Collection and it is a present...

  • NI-FBUS Configurator supplied with a broken serial number-- $4K+ for a dead product.

    Hello, we received our Fieldbus Host Starter Kit today (12/6/06).  The order was placed on 8/8/06 under order #1642893.
    We are trying to install NI-FBUS configurator/communications manager on a Windows XP laptop.  After going through the installation process, I entered the
    serial number that is on our certificate of ownership for the "NI-FBUS CONFIGURATOR FOR WINDOWS WITH HSE/HI LINKING DEVICE, HSE SUPPORT."
    That number starts with X103...  The program then gave the screen with the computer ID, the 15 digit "numeric serial number," the 10 digit
    "numeric product code" and a 25 digit "numeric computer ID."
    I phoned these numbers into 800-207-4012, and the "numeric product code" was rejected.  I tried 4 times.
    After speaking with NI tech support, they said that the format for the serial number on my certificate of ownership was for hardware-- not software.
    They also said that there is no tech support for the NI-FBUS product line, and that after spending $4000+ on this system, we have to beg for help
    on the discussion forum if we want assistance.  For now, our $4K+ bought a system that is dead on arrival.

    Please contact our local CSR (Customer Service Representative). They could help you activate your software but they will require the Serial Number as well. Please tell them that this is a very special case and ask them whether they could bypass the serial number. If they cannot do so, please ask them whether they could help you activate the "Configurator with HSE support" license with other tools.

    It is not clear if you understand what that message is indicating.  It is telling you that you need to identify the older version of whatever CS5.5 upgrade you are installing to prove that you qualify for the upgrade.  This could be CS5, CS4, etc.

    just purchased finally the upgrade for CS6 from CS5.5 Design Premium. I have a BIG problem. When I run the installation file, I put the serial for the upgrade => OK, then I have this message : "valid serial number but no eligible product has been detected", and asks me to put a serial of my actual version. I choose "Design Premium CS 5.5" with the good serial number and then I have this message : "the serial number did not match with a eligible product. Please enter an other serial"... Any ideas???

    I re-downloaded CS6 after cleaning my computer and when I enter the Serial Number I get this message "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer". From other posts I saw that someone contacted support but I can't find a number anywhere that I can call. Hoping someone can help me ASAP due to these programs being essential for my business.

  • CS6 Design Standard Serial Number is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found...?

    I am attempting to reinstall CS6 Design Standard after a computer upgrade, however the Application Manager won't take my serial number.  In particular, when I enter the serial number, I receive the following error message:
    Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.
    When I enter the serial number for one of the products that should be eligible for the upgrade, I receive the error message:
    This serial number is not for a qualifying product.  Please try another.
    I've attempted this on a couple of machines with the same result.  I've also attempted to install CS6 Design Standard after installing numerous other products: CS5 Design Premium, CS5 Design Standard, CS3 Design Standard... and none of these were found as qualifying products.
    I'm attempting this on OS X 10.9.3, on numerous MacBook Pro configurations from the past four years.  It is plugged into the network, and the connection is active.  I haven't seen anything in Console that is related.
    Is there someone from Adobe that I can contact to get verification of this Serial Number, and what product it would be attached to?

    The Serial Number you have is a upgrade Serial Number from a older version.
    So when you try to install, you have to insert the Serial Number for CS6 Design Standard and on the next screen, you need to choose the old product from drop down list and enter the Serial Number for that.
    It is not necessary to install the old application before installing CS6 Design Standard , all you need is the Serial Number for the old version.

    I have Photshop CS5 Extended edition but when i try to activate the key it comes with the error "Serial Number is not valid for this product". The product has been activated two times before but the installation doesnt come with the error "Serial Number is already in use" or something similar. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Did you upgrade from a previous version of Acrobat?  The "qualifying product" is the older version that you owned before you purchased the upgrade.  It is what qualifies you to use the less expensive upgrade version. So you need to select the older version and provide its serial number to prove that you qualify for using the upgrade.
