CS5 Runtime Error in Windows 7

Hey everyone,
I tried searching for this problem but couldn't find a good answer, so i joined in hopes someone could help me.
I have Windows 7 Premium, and I've been using Photoshop CS5 for a while now with now problems. Now when I start it up, i get an error message after the splash screen that says: "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occured. Photoshop will now exit."
Then another message that says:
"Runtime Error!
Program: C:\... (cut off)
THis Application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information".
Then it closes. The only thing i've done recently was update my bios. To try and fix the problem, I updated directx, deleted my prefs, downloaded the new c++ redistribuable, uninstalled/reinstalled photoshop twice and still nothing.
Please help me out or point me in the right direction. Thanks!!!

Be sure to download the Audition 3.01 update patch from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4237
Is there any obvious pattern to this crash?  Does it occur while performing any specific edit or operation?  I know you mentioned it was random, but have you seen it crash while sitting idle, or does it only happen in multitrack?

  • SOLUTION - Photoshop CS5 Runtime Error, R6025, runtime c++

    Hello All CS5 Photoshop Users.
You have been getting an error on Photoshop CS5 Runtime Error, R6025 C++ in 64bit
I finally figured the solution for this.
What you have to do is this:
    Uninstall all the Runtimes x86 x64 for 2005, 2008, 2010
    Uninstall the entire CS5 Photoshop.
    Go to your C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (64bit)\Plugins\
    Delete any 3rd party plugins
    Go to C:\Program Files (86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop\Plugins\
    Delete any 3rd party plugins
    Reboot
Re-install CS5 Photoshop, when selecting the installation make sure to install 32bit and 64bit, when you are installing 64bit and you select it will also select 32bit, install the CS5 Photoshop.
    Now install the Runtimes from Microsoft x86 x64 for 2005, 2008, 2010
Confirm the size of the runtimes from microsoft with cs5 photoshop runtimes
Location of MS Runtime - C:\Windows\winsxs
    Install the plugins and done!!!!!
Hope this helps to all CS5 Photoshop users.

To uninstall the runtimes you can easily do it from registry, best and easy way, this will clear any files which were having conflicts.
Runtime C++ is the error with Visual C++ Runtime.
Go to start > run > type regedit and click OK
    In the registry go to:
    HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Uninstall
Expand the Uninstall and you will see many folders or Keys with long names like {002D9D5E-29BA-3E6D-9BC4-3D7D6DBC735C} ...click on them one by one, on the right side you will see what application it is. On the right side look for these
    Name: DisplayName
    Data: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 ATL Update kb973924 - x86 9.0.30729.4148
    Name: UninstallString
    Data: MsiExec.exe /X{002D9D5E-29BA-3E6D-9BC4-3D7D6DBC735C}
Make sure the name is Microsoft Visual C++..... any version, you will for sure have more than 3-4.
Double click on the UninstallString and copy the Data, go to start > run > and paste , click on OK, and the uninstall will begin.
WARNING - Please make sure you close all the application before proceeding. Go to task manager and kill any process which is not running by system like any third party application including third party WLAN software, or any other, check system tray (bottom right corner before the clock).
Once you have all this done you will not have any problem.
When installing CS5 on 64bit application, make sure to install CS5 32bit as well because of some dll and system files being not fully compatible.
First uninstall the CS5, then uninstall the runtimes, backup your Plugins as folders, you can over write them later without reinstalling them.
    OR
Uninstall runtimes, repair CS5 with an option of installing 32bit and 64bit.

  • InDesign CS5 Runtime Error

I've seen a ton of these discussions around here but none of them seem to help my specific problem so hopefully somebody can help me out.
We just bought InDesign CS5 at my job, I'm the lead graphics coordinator, and I'm getting runtime errors every time I try to start it up. Start up seems fine until it gets to "Starting up Service Registry." Once it gets there I get the error "Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5\InDesign.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way..."
    Here is the error signature:
    AppName: indesign.exe     AppVer: 7.0.3.535     ModName: msvcr90.dll
    ModVer: 9.0.30729.4148     Offset: 0005bea4
I have Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 installed on this machine as well and have had no problems with them at all. I'm on Windows XP SP3, and I made sure InDesign was up to date as well. I really hope somebody can help me out because I have a $1/hour raise relying on this program! If you need any other information let me know, thanks.

    Hi Chris,
I'm having a very similar problem to you.  Exactly the same error message and the same faulting module [msvcr90.dll] (the other websites about this type of error seem to be related to other modules).  Did you find a resolution for the problem?  Did the clean wipe and reinstall method work?
    Thanks,

  • Encore CS5 Runtime Error & crashes - HELP!

    Hi everyone
I have installed Encore CS5 with Premiere Pro CS5 and used it to successfully burn a DVD. Today however, when I complete the New Project tab with the name & location/project settings and click OK, there is a pause of about 3 seconds and then a pop up box:
    Runtime Error! Program: C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in am unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have looked through the forums etc and the only possible solution was to turn off DLA, but i cannot see how to do this in Windows 7.
If anyone can help I would be most greatful, I don't see why I was able to burn a DVD without this problem last time.
    Thanks!

I know this is an old thread, but I've been getting this recently and managed to find a solution.
Just for future reference this what I did, though not sure exactly which fixed it!..
    I uninstalled Encore CS5
I also uninstalled some software related to the LG Bluray writer I had installed:
    Cyberlink Power2Go
    Cyberlink PowerStarter
    Cyberlink LabelPrint
    Cyberlink PowerProducer.
2 other programs I uninstalled: (less likely to cause a problem, but I was not using them)
    Google Earth
    ArcScan stitch-delux
    Reboot
    Use CCleaner to clean registry.
    Disconnect internet
    Disable Mcafee virus scan
Reinstall Encore CS5... then it all seemed to work ok, could create new projects etc.
My PC is running Windows 7 32bit. The LG writer is a BH10LS30

  • CS5 Runtime Error Photoshop.exe

I've had CS5 since 17 May and several times, when trying to open a file from Bridge, I get 'Runtime Error Photoshop.exe' - annoys the you-know-what out of me!!!
    It happens:
starting the computer again from Standby mode - means I have to Restart the computer each time, and
changing Preferences - in Bridge and Photoshop.  Not sure which Preferences cause the Runtime Error, so I'm stuck with default settings.
Tech Support advised me that it 'might be due to damaged preference files and to recreate the Photoshop preferences file ... too complicated for this little black duck.
Anyone else have similar problems and, if so, have you managed to fix it.  If you have, could you explain how in KISS terms.
    Ta!

    Just a general comment...
It may not be "green" but I never, ever allow my computer to go into Standby mode.  If you read the Microsoft forums, it becomes clear that Windows has always been rife with problems that occur after "waking" a sleeping computer.  Maybe it's just something that's not tested that much.  Note that I'm specifically talking about "Standby", not "Hibernate".
In general heat and power cycles are harder on computer hardware than just keeping it on at a steady temperature.  That said, make sure and clean the dust out occasionally, as it will accumulate faster when a computer is left on.
Some say disk drives might have shorter lives if left on, but my experience, working an entire career in large companies with lots of computers, is just the opposite:  By FAR we saw more drive failures after power cycles.  On desktops that people would turn off, disks wouldn't spin up, or just started failing to read properly.  By contrast, there were whole banks of computers in test labs, for example, that just stayed on 24/7 on UPS power and never had any problems.  Our IT department finally advised everyone to leave their systems on when they went home, which also facilitated software maintenance and backups.
I know this can't help in some cases, e.g., laptops, but if you are willing to spend the money for a little more power, avoiding the use of "Standby" on a desktop system is a workaround that can actually help stabilize computer operation.

  • Photoshop CS5 - Runtime Error!

So I've had Photoshop for years, but just recently I've been given an error upon startup.
This error is stopping me from using Photoshop as it closes straight after the error box is given out.
I must also tell you that I have recently been attacked by a virus which has been recovered from, and since then Photoshop has not been working and producing this error.
    Here it is:
Microsoft Visual C+ + Runtime Library
Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program File\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Photoshop.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    Any solutions? I can't live without photoshop : ' (

Sounds like it's probably time to reinstall Photoshop, given that the virus may have damaged it.
You could try resetting preferences, but I don't hold a lot of hope for that given that you've had a virus.  To do this, press and hold Control-Shift-Alt immediately after starting Photoshop from its menu entry or shortcut.  You have to be quick and if you're quick enough it will prompt you to confirm.

  • Has anyone encountered a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error in Windows 2000 when upgrading from Labview 6.0i to 6.0.2?

When I try to upgrade Labview 6.0i to 6.0.2 by running the setup.exe file I downloaded from the NI site, I immediately get a dialog box with the header "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" and it says "Runtime Error! Program: C:\setup.exe abnormal program termination."
I'm running Windows 2000, but I've successfully installed it on another computer with the same setup. I'm guess some of the DLL files in system32 has been corrupted or mismatched versions. But I don't know which one...
    Anyone know what this means?

    Hello,
You can probably solve this problem by going to Start >> Run and typing the following:
    Regsvr32 \msi.dll
Where is the folder where the msi.dll file resides on your computer (you can use Start >> Find to find the exact location). Once you do this, the installation of the 6.0.2 update should work properly.
Please let me know if you continue to have any problems. Thanks for your patience on this issue, and have a pleasant day.

  • Installing agent - "VBScript runtime error" on Windows server

    Hi all,
I am installing the agent (10.2.0.2.0) on another one of my Windows Oracle servers - this is about the 10th one I've done, and I am doing it no differently than all the others.
I download the wget.exe utility, put it in the path somewhere (usually put it under e:\oracle\ora92\bin), then download the agentDownload.vbs script from the Grid server. Then, when I issue the command to start the installation:
    cscript agentDownload.vbs b e:\oracle m ourserver.ourdomain.com r 4889
and I am getting this error (2 different lines):
    e:\oracle
agentDownload.vbs(476, 2) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method: 'currentdirectory'
Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
    Thanks,

    Whats your defualt directory?
can you try by putting wget in the beggining of windows path variable.

  • Ps CS5 - Runtime error - which files need to be deleted ? -  if thats the fix

So I just went thru all this with Adobe Premiere, and now I will have to go thru it with Ps5.   I am getting the run time error in my  Ps CS 5 version 12.0.4  x64 , running on a PC window 7.
The program crashes immediately upon opening. With premier I had to go in and delete a preferences file, and then it worked again (Thanks to A.T. Romano for the fix) but I lost any
projects that were in the works. Anyone know how to fix the photoshop problem? And is it likely I will be going thru this with my Lightroom 3 as well?
    Thanks

    Thanks AC
No you never posted the information about your errors I was just answered your question about preferences. If you want to work on your errors
    Supply pertinent information
The more information you supply about your situation, the better equipped other community members will be to answer. Consider including the following in your question:
    Adobe product and version number
    Operating system and version number
The full text of any error message(s)
What you were doing when the problem occurred
    Screenshots of the problem
Computer hardware, such as CPU; GPU; amount of RAM; etc.

  • PPro CS5 Runtime Error when loading exporteravi.prm

So while working on my other problems, I experienced a runtime error while opening PPro. I did some research, and saw that it might be a conflict with Quicktime, which I promptly uninstalled. I was testing a clip with my new settings (thanks to Colin Brougham ) after that, I experienced the same thing. I had to reboot in order to start the program again. Any idea what I need to do. This is a fresh install of Windows 7 (freshly installed not 6 hours ago), so its not a matter of junk programs. Help?

As it turns out, the file I was exporting had some issues at a certain point in the footage (too much audio at one time due to an operator error), and it was causing the crash, and that crash was causing the runtime error. I started using the queue function for the exporter, and it failed at the same time, but did not crash. I went back in to investigate the file at that point and just playing it in the timeline premiere crashed.
So long story short - it wasn't as big an issue as I thought, since its all related to that one clip.

  • Crystal 2008 Runtime error on Windows Server 2008

I have a simple ASP.Net web applications that is using reports developed in Crystal 2008.  My server OS is Windows Server 2008 and has the Crystal 2008 SP1 runtime controls installed.  When I run the application it works fine until I actually try to run the report.  As the paremeter screen is attempting to load I am getting several script errors on the page.
_de is undefined, object not specified, bobj is undefinded are the major messages.  I have researched for several hours and have had no success.  I have come to the conclusion that the web page does not know where to find the .js and .css crystal files or does not have the correct permissions to access the files.
One thing that I found online and tried was to add a line of code in the HTML that specified the script as java and the location of the JS file for the viewer.  This helped but still had errors.
BTW....This application runs fine on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 OS.
Anyone had the same issue?  Any help is greatly appreciated!
Forgot to mention my development environment is VS 2008.

  • Runtime error on Windows Mobile 6.1 after install

    I have a Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic device (non-phone),
    CE OS 5.2.21041 (Build 21041.1.6.0)
    Processor is an ARM1136 MX31
    Memory: 115.09Mb
I installed the 3.0 SDK, and copied and installed the CAB file on the device per the instructions on the website.
When I click on the "Sun Java CLDC Emu" icon, I get the following error message:
"The file 'sun_jwc' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I tried removing and reinstalling - same error. Everything seemed to go ok with the CAB installation.
Any suggestions as to what to check/test?
    Regards,

    Hello,
we don't sign the java runtime cab nor the executables inside it. So to be able to run it on a device, the device needs to have security lowered at least to the level at which the user is asked for permission when he is installing / running an unsigned cab / executable. In the context of Windows Mobile security, it means that the device's security configuration needs to be set to "Two-Tier-Prompt", "One-Tier-Prompt" or "Security-Off" (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839681.aspx for more details).
Changing of the security configuration might require device manufacturer's or operator's assistance.
In some cases it can be done by the user. Some of them are listed below:
    1) the user has a registry editor application which can run on the device and can change the device registry (such application needs to be signed by a certificate which is trusted by the device)
    2) the device has installed Microsoft Windows Mobile development certificates
    3) the device allows the user to install the Microsoft Windows Mobile development certificates
Of these the 2 and 3 is more likely, so If it's your case, try the following:
    1) Install Windows Mobile SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/DownLoads/details.aspx?familyid=06111A3A-A651-4745-88EF-3D48091A390B&displaylang=en)
    2) Install "<WM SDK>/Tools/Security/SDK Development Certificates/Certs.cab" on the device
    3) Go to "<WM SDK>/Tools/PocketPC/Security/Security Configuration" and use one of the cpf file to change the device's security configuration (see <WM SDK>/Tools/PocketPC/Security/Security Configuration/ReadMe.txt)

  • Java Runtime errors in Windows (error=2,3,...)

    Hello,
I had a Java progam that makes calls to external programs (of the type of question 2 in the FAQ), but for which I have no access to the code (it is intended for Unix). I have Java installed including the docs (except search API). My question is:
error=2, error=3, error=193 are IOEXceptions which mean something like file not found, not an executable file, the processe returned an exception, etc. Where can I find a translation of those cryptic numbers in plain English, within the docs?. Searching the Internet is not efficient ... TIA
    LT

    Just to add some perspective:
Almost all UNIX platforms provide a file called /usr/include/errno.h (or same name in a subdirectory /usr/include/*/*.h ) as part of the baseline OS. It is only about 100 error codes and is based on the UNIX system calls. This file is provided even for those UNIX platforms (like Solaris) that do not provide any form of C compiler with the OS software (you have to pay extra for the compiler, often a lot extra). Its pedigree goes back to the origins of UNIX.
While Microsoft has a web page with their error code info, they do not provide the file is as part of the baseline OS. I agree that Sun could attempt to provide pointers, maybe as part of a FAQ on their web site. Perhaps Sun does not want to get bogged down with the complexities introduced by a major competitor's legacy issues:
ERRNO.H (for the WIN32 version, about 40 codes, for the C Runtime Library)
ERROR.H (DOS error codes, derived from XENIX, OS/2)
WINERROR.H (12,000 line header file all Win32 codes know at that time, using fields la DEC's VMS, but includes codes of ERROR.H)
I expect that Sun's implementation of System.exec() calls the Win32 API routine CreateProcess and that probably the only codes you will see returned are defined in ERROR.H

  • Visual C++ Runtime Error on Windows Vista

I've been unable to use iTunes for the past few months because of this error. The message tells me that "+This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way+."
This all started two updates ago, when they first added ringers. I have made sure Norton is not interfering like I read it sometimes does. I've deleted both iTunes and Quicktime, as well as all of their folders and my iTunes Library and re-installed and nothing. I've also gone through my programs list and removed things I installed around the time I started having problems.
I also had this Facebook App called Qloud for iTunes and even though I uninstalled it maybe it messed something up. Any ideas! I miss my music!!!!!!!

    Give this a shot:
On the Start menu, click All Programs.
    Click Accessories.
Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator from the shortcut menu.
When the User Account Control dialog appears, click Continue.
At the command prompt type the following:
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    Press Enter on your keyboard.
A message should appear stating "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded."
Click OK and try installing iTunes or QuickTime again.
    Hope this helps,
