CS5 Service Manager crash
My system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit; Dual 3.2GHz XEON CPUs; 16GB RAM; 500GB HD; Radeon X1700 (Dual monitors); fully updated and in good health.
I installed CS5 Master Suite fresh (not an upgrade) from the Student/Teacher distribution DVDs, and immediately following this I allowed it to download and install all updates.
However, as soon as I start any application in the suite (except Acrobat), I get a message saying that "Adobe CS5 Service Manager has stopped working". The details are as follows:

I have trawled the forums and FAQs but have not found any idea what might cause this. Has anybody come across this problem before and have any suggestions about how to fix it?
Thanks
Thanks for the input.
My issue isn’t so much with CC (it’s working fine), but when I open indesignCC I got the message that CS5 Service manager needed a legacy version of java to run.
This issue seems to be a legacy issue going back from CS5. When you click on more info, it just takes you to a blank HTML page.
I went through the Hardrive/Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager Folder... and simply deleted it.
Theres lots more out-dated junk in there. Uninstall doesn't get everything I guess.
Thanks,

CS5 Service Manager error message?
I keep getting the CS5 service manager error message - ordinal not found. Specifically ' the ordinal 3873 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll' Any ideas please on how to fix this?
That's very puzzling, but you seem to have an older version of the Adobe Extension Manager for CS5.x. You are on 5.0.x, R_Kelly mentions 5.2.x, and I'm on 5.5.x
Maybe you need to make sure you are updated to Photoshop 12.1 update first, then make sure you are updated to Adobe Extenson Manager 5.5.0.163.
This is the version of the AEM that I have for Photoshop 12.1 (CS5.1) which resides on my Snow Leopard 10.6.8 boot HD:

i'm a subscriber to creative cloud with cs6, but i'm getting an annoying popup trying to run "cs5 service manager", how do i stop this?
You might uninstall any CS5 products on the system you don't use anymore. The CS5 service manager checks online services for CS5 products.

Rox_StarHi,
As a test, please create a new domain admin user account, log on to the server with it, and then open RDS Manager. Do you see the same issue with the new account?
Thanks.

Extension Manager Crashes CS5 OSX 10.5.8
Hi
I need to load the Optional Plug Ins for Photoshop CS5 so Photoshop can use TWAIN to import images from my scanner. I've done it on another iMac but need to do it on this one. I have downloaded the files from the Adobe site and the Extension Manager crashes soon after opening it. I saw another thread that mentioned "From the crash stack product “smart crash report” 1.5b3 is installed. However, it should not be compatible with Snow Leopard, refer to the offical statementhttp://www.unsanity.com/haxies/smartcrashreports."
I don't have a "smart crash report" (maybe Santa will give me one for Christmas? )
I have tried running it from a clean user but same problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is the crash report:

Adobe Service Manager CS5.5 wont quit
Adobe Service Manager CS5.5 seems to hang after I use Photoshop. Fine with Indesign etc. (even after closing photoshop). This prevents my iMac from shutting down. How do I switch it off/disable it or repair it in OSX7?
Any thoughts anyone? Its driving me crazy. It ends up on a grey screen with spinning icon indefinitely.Using terminology valid for Windows that may have analogs on the Mac: there could be an Adobe service or a scheduled-task that is relaunching ASM after you have closed it. The ASM might also be a program that can be uninstalled that is not part of the suite so wouldn’t be cleaned up by CC cleaner.

Intel Service Manager's Crash Report
I receive the Intel Service Manager's Crash Report several times whenever any user logs onto my laptop. I disabled the Windows Event Log as a short term fix, but would like to know how to properly correct this problem????

We shouldn't expect Peter to return until Monday, Sehr.
Does the message look like my attachment?
Check the date and time on your computer. Sometimes that causes it.
Anything unusual showing in Device Manager (devmgmt.msc)?
Can't hurt to reinstall the core software..
Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
Intel Display Driver
AMD Display Driver
And this..
Intel Management Engine Interface
I do not have a systems disk, or any other disks for this laptop.
You should certainly create recovery discs and a Windows 7 repair disc at minimum. For the former, see the section Creating recovery media, which begins on p. 65 of the User's Guide.
Satellite/Satellite Pro L800/S800 Series User’s Guide
And see..
Create a system repair disc
We create an image of our production-machines' hard drives every single night. If you cannot afford to rebuild your computer from scratch, you should also back up the whole drive periodically.

Adobe Applications Manage rin Yosemite Kaput. Advisor directs me here. Another Adobe Run-around. CS5 Extended still crashing with Eyedropper when moved to desktop.
I'm sorry to report that I've not yet figured out how to go about this 'Cleaning'. I've run the cleaner on the Applications Manager, then attempted to reinstall the downloaded Applications Manager and again I get the same message as above. I attempted to trash the Applications Folder and rerun the installer. That did not work. I then moved the downloaded Applications folder to the utilities folder and restarted CS5>Updates. It reports, again it can't find/or is damaged Applications Manager. I will now take the folder out of the trash and return it to the Utilities folder.
If I run the Recovery tool on Photoshop will I uninstall Photoshop or will it only 'clean' it. Does it mean I will lose any third party plugins?
I do thank you for your continued support. This is the first time a requested answer/suggestion to my troubles has been promptly be addressed by 'Adobe'. I am also pleased I can reply to an email to aid in resolving questions.
Again, Thanks!

Service Manager 2012 R2 UR2 crashes (occasionally) on clicking the refresh bar
Hello all,
Hoping someone can help/advise please?
We have a sporadic issue where SCSM 2012 R2 UR client console crashes when the Refresh View bar (seen at the top of a list of Incidents when something is updated relating to that list)
is clicked to refresh a view list of Incidents. We see the issue approximately once a day per analyst, however it doesn't occur every time we click the refresh bar.
So far we have had five of our analysts see this issue, they are people who use SCSM
continuously throughout the day.
Note: We are also using the Advanced View Editor from SCSMSolutions Support, but are not sure if
this is linked and the issue didn't exist before upgrading from SCSM 2012 SP1 which we carried out recently.
Directly below is the Error message seen at the time of the crash, and below that is the Event log associated to the issue. We see no other related event logs.
Many thanks for any help!
Greg

Adobe service manager keeps crashing
Hi,
always get the same erroe "adobe service manager stopped" working, on startup and every couple of minutes, while working with adobe applications.
Problem is connected to ntdll.dll

29dde084-63bc-11e2-b372-b888e374ce96Hi Zylinde123,
The ntdll.dll file referenced is one which is part of Windows. That file shows as being 1.23MB on my system.
I'd try temporarily disabling UAC on your system to see of the behavior persists and quitting all programs running in the background and see if the behavior persists.
You can typically right-click and choose close or quit for most programs in the system tray
Disable and Turnoff UAC in Windows 7 from Control Panel
1. Access User Control Panel from Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Account
2. Click on
User Account Control settings link.
3. Move the Slider to Never Notify
4. Click OK to make the change effective
5. Reboot.

CS6 Service Manager / Vulcan Control.dll Missing / App Crashing on Startup
I am using Windows 7 on a CC Team Member, not the first time i have had this issue where App's whould not update but got it fixed. This time however it wont fix and i no have a CS6 Service Manager Error & VulcanControl.dll missing error.
I am not using CS6 all my products are CC App's.
Would love some help as I am a team member online support is not allowed and when i tried calling i was on hold for 45min then I had to let someone else use the phone in office.
At the moment I dont have any CC or CS6 products installed, I have also used Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner.
Please can someone help.
ThanksThere seems to be a real issue here . I get this problem. CC2014 runs for a short time after I reinstall a back up operating system then up it comes again Vulcancotrol.dll missing program can not start.
I can find no solution. Any attempts to fix or reinstall get blocked by Norton. Even if I turn of my anti virus I can not get this .dll back.
What is going on?
Need help please. I reinstalled a working system this morning but the same problem has now come up again. Attempts to re register Vulcancontrol result in a message that is is not present! -
InDesign CS5.5 keeps crashing when I open a particular document
InDesign CS5.5 keeps crashing when I open a particular document. This suddenly started happening a few hours ago, and other files are unaffected. I downloaded a backup from last week and that was fine, but I need to get this latest version working again. I've cleared out the Recovery folder, deleted Preferences, and even reinstalled InDesign - all to no avail.
I'm running Windows 8.
Any help gratefully received!Even after emptying the recovery folder?
It's either a damaged install or a bad font or some other conflict. Do the font trouble-shooter first, then move to checking for a conflict.
To check for a conflict, go to the start button and in the Search field Type msconfig to bring up the configuration utility. Open it, go to the Services tab and click the box to Hide All Microsoft Services. You can uncheck just about anything that's left (for diagnostic purposes) except FLEXnet Licensing Services and a service starting with ##ID_String... which are part of the Adobe licensing sytem and need to be active for Adobe product to run.
Now switch to the Startup tab, and uncheck everything except your mouse driver and the Adobe Service Manager for this version.
Reboot. Ignore the warning about startup in diagnostic mode for the moment and Launch ID and see if it works. If it does, go back msconfig and add back startup programs in groups, rebooting each time and repeat the test until you get a failure. If all the startup programs work, repeat with the services tab. If nothing causes a problem I have no idea what's going on.
On the other hand, if ID fails again straight off with all that stuff disabled, the installtion is corrupt. Run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall while still in diagnostic mode, then run msconfig one last time to restore normal startup. -
