CS5 Trial Train Wreck

I installed  a trial CS5 last night. After sever attempts to install its self it finally went in. It kept saying my OS was not compatible. I run a i7 CPU, Win7 Ultimate 64 bit with 12 gig of ram. After it went in the program would not even start correctly let alone edit anything. I uninstalled it and then several other programs in my PC didn't work any more. I could not even get on line. I recovered my C drive with a back up I keep on a external drive. Everything is now back working. I read where CS5 was supposed to work with Win7? So much for CS5 until I can try a non trial someplace to see if it will work. I may be destine to use CS3 forever or change to a different editing software. Thanks

Though you have probably already taken these tips into consideration, I'll offer up a general Adobe installation CHECKLIST, just in case.
Sorry for the issues,
Hunt

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS5 Trial

    Hello all.
I'm desperately searching help to install Photoshop CS5 Trial on my PC. I have Windows Seven Ultimate 32 bit, and any time I try to install the regular setup file downloaded via Adobe's site I get an error message. Another strange issue regarding a message displayed in a dialog box during setup: after the "INSTALL TRIAL" selection there is a dialog box displaying the components to install. There is only the Photoshop voice, with a red X, and after the selection a new message appears in the right side of the dialog, warning me that "THE SELECTED COMPONENTS ARE DISABLED".
After the start of installation I got the following message:

How can I do to solve this problem? I have removed any CS5 reference from registry, tried to change the registry's permissions, but nothing to do.
Please help me and forgive my poor english.
    Thank you.

    Problem Solved!
I simply checked in the "Add/Remove Programs" panel, discovering a previous CS5 installation (some days ago I've installed CS5 suite trial). Yesterday I have discovered this voice in the panel, uninstalled it and now Photoshop CS5 is perfectly installed and working.

  • Adobe CS5 trial error

I downloaded the Adobe CS5 trial on an iMac, and tried to move it over to a 13inch MacBook Pro using Snow Leopard. I transferred it using an external hard drive. When I tried to put it on my Mac, it told me configuration error (error:6). Any thoughts as to why I can't get it to work?
    Thanks in advance.

It's not possible, plain and simple. Once the licensing system has locked down, only a proper serial number can unlock it and that means you buy the software.

  • Brush and Pencil tool not working in Photoshop CS5 trial

I dowloaded the Photoshop CS5 trial yesterday 2 days ago. Everything worked perfectly yesterday. Unfortunately, today...the brush and pencil tool doesn't work. Anyone have any idea why?

We need a few more details like what doesn't work
with the brush or pencil tools.
Provide a screenshot if you feel that would help illustrate the problem.

  • Can't Install After Effects CS5 Trial on Windows XP (64 Bit)

I tired to install the AE CS5 trial yesterday on my computer and it had the error message,  "Adobe After Effects CS5 is installable only on 64-bit systems."  My computer is pretty crappy, but it IS a 64bit system.  Here are my specs of this old budget pc...
Running: Windows XP Media Center Edition v.2002 SP3
    AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+
2.20 GHz, 1.18 GB of RAM
I knew I would have problems running this program, but I need to at least get it installed so I can work on my animation homework.  If you can help at all, it would be greatly appreciated.
*sigh* I'm so sick of this computer, I've wanted a new one for years...

Oh, wow. XP is not supported? Oh well, now I have a valid excuse to not do my homework   Thank you.

  • Performance problems after CS5 Trial install

I installed the CS5 Trial, performed updates to get everything current, and InDesign and Illustrator have slowed to a crawl. For example, click on a text block, shift-click to select a second block and wait 2-3 seconds. Or, single-click an object to select, wait a few seconds and it jumps to another place on the page.
Also, PDFs opened in Acrobat Professional 8 are being affected. Flipping through pages takes 10-ish seconds per page.
And last, when I go back to using CS3, I'm having similar problems there, which I didn't have before. Not quite as slow, but still a problem.
I have restarted many times, and also uninstalled CS5 and reinstalled.
    Has anyone experienced this? Suggestions?

  • Can't open photoshop cs5 trial on mac os x after installation

i downloaded ps cs5 trial from adobe.com and installed it but when i try to open the application a message comes up sayin cannot open because minimum system requirement is mac os x but i've got this mac version? any opinions, explanations would be grateful. thanks

I have a mac os x 10.5.8; 1.8 GHz Power PC G5; 2 GB RAM with updated version of QuickTime player, which is the minimal requirement for supporting this application.
BUT, you don't have an Intel processor.
    You have a PPC processor.
    System requirements
    1GHz Intel processor
Mac OS X v10.5.8 (Leopard) or newer.
    100 MB free disk space.
Either USB or regular headset if your Mac does not have a built-in microphone.
Sorry, but your Mac is NOT compatible with Skype 5.2.

  • Transition from Dreamweaver CS5 Trial version to paid version

I've spent weeks working on my site with a trial version of Dreamweaver CS5 (actually it's part of the entire Adobe Web Premium CS5) and have two days left. Then I will have to uninstall the entire package and the trial Dreamweaver with it. I have a paid version ready to install then. I notice the trial version has generated an ".ste" file apparently automatically. Will the paid version of Dreamweaver CS5 "find" the .ste file or do I need to do some kind of import procedure? For that matter, do I need to make sure everything is up to date in the existing .ste file before making this transition? Thanks.

it's part of the entire Adobe Web Premium CS5) and have two days left. Then I will have to uninstall the entire package and the trial Dreamweaver with it. I have a paid version ready to install then.
What exactly have you purchased as a paid version?
Is it the standalone version of Dreamweaver on its own or have you purchased Web Premium CS5?
If you've purchased Web Premium CS5, you can just enter the serial number and "convert" it to a permanent version - no reinstall required.
If you've purchased the standalone version of DW then you'll have to uninstall Web Premium CS5 Trial first.
Normally any new version of DW will find your site settings and migrate them but this does not always work.
To manually export the site settings, in DW click Site > Manage Sites > Export and you can save the .ste file anywhere you wish on your hard drive.
When you've installed the new version, you can then click Site > Manage Sites > Import and point DW to the saved .ste file.

  • Error message 0xc000001d in Photoshop CS5 Trial

I have installed the Photoshop CS5 Trial, and when I tried to initiate the program, I got a error message 0xc000001d.
Do you have any idea, if this failure occurs due my operating system use a athlon XP processor 2.4GHz?
Are there any solution for that?
    Thanks

Well, if you're installing strictly for use as a trial, download the latest from Adobe's web site.
If you're installing to activate with your license, install then either run the updater (from the Start menu) or manually update to Photoshop 12.0.4 from this page, and it will work on your CPU:

  • Problem starting Adobe After Effects CS5 Trial

    Hey there,
I have a huge problem starting AE5 Trial and well I looked around several Discussions about the problem without anything that'd help me.
I used to work with an older version of AE, borrowed by my filmbuddy, on my old desktop without any problem.
Now with my new laptop, I downloaded the CS5 Trial version and it hangs with initializing Mediacore. I'd really like to buy the new AE version, but well, if it doesn't work at trial level on my laptop, why should the full version work?
So when starting AE the startup screen appears it hangs with "initalizing MediaCore", so I have to click on that screen that something happens ... now the startup screen is dark colored and I have to wait for 10 min that something new is happening.
Now it says: "Warning: QuickTime is not installed on this system, some components will not work correctly. So I can press and AE actually starts, but I'm not able to import or export QuickTime movies. And btw. AE works pretty lame, don't know why (my OS is Windows Ultimate 7, 64 bit btw. ^^ )
So well I tried to deactivate my firewall, no change
I tried to delete the MediaCore plug-ins (program files - AE CS5 - Media Core plug-ins - common) one by one or all ... no change
I tried reinstalling QuickTIme and AE, different orders, still nothing happens
There may be several helpful Threads about this, but the problem is, its mostly specific to Mac and I can't find the equivalent way for Windows
    I'd appreciate any help
    Thanks for your kind attention

Yeah CS5.5 from the adobe website. At least I think so - my internet connection is to slow to download anything, so a friend got it for me
The point: permissions problem with preferences folder or corrupt preferences - I don't know why, but I don't have the AppData\Roaming path/folders
just worked through this discussion: blockage of TCP communication with QuickTIme - I don't quite get the point with the rule ... what steps do I have to follow in Windows Firewall? but well I deactivated it anyway and it still didn't work.
Aaand I don't find the preference files on windows ... user/...
gosh I want to work with this program error-free ^^

I previously had PS CS5 Trial installed but removed it using both Control Panel Programs and deleting all files from the CS5 directory on Program Files.  I then installed a purchased product from Adobe disc using the serial number on the case.  But when I try to launch it, I get a screen headed Photoshop CS5 Extended Trial.  It asks for the serial number and says that my trial has expired.  It rejects the serial number from the Adobe case saying "This Serial Number is not valid for this product".  It thinks that I still have the expired Trial Version installed.  How do I convince it (the program) that the Trial Version is long gone and the currently installed product was installed with a valid and accepted serial number????

Let me know how it goes. Go into your Adobe account and register your serial number asap.

  • Exit Code 7 - PS CS5 Trial - Win7 64 bit

Have downloaded the PS CS5 trial and attempted to install as a trial - leaving CS4 in place.  Install started okay and then I came back to find a BSOD.  Restarted PC, checked drive - all reported okay. Have 150Gb capacity on C drive with i7 950, 12Gb  RAM and ATI Radeon HD4850 video card (latest driver).
Tried to unistall via Programs & Features which reported not everything removed.  Downloaded WInCS5 cleaner and that fails to run when I try it.  I have tried to delete what CS5 files / folders I can see and have run ccCleaner on the registry.  Rebooted and an attempted re-install fails with the same message.  I have downloaded the files again to no avail.
The following line"OS requirement not met for {667C8B6C-3EAF-4646-A8EC-D85CCC4D3D84} seems strange when viewed with the machine spec above.
Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this deadlock?
    Many thanks,
    Dave

    Anshum,
As I said in PM, many thanks for this installation / clean up.  What confuses me is why I needed permissions changed as I am the only user and have admin rights under my user name?  Other programmes I download run and install without issue.
It would be good to see a write up of how to manually delete programme remnants that may get left behind.  For example, the installation folder on my desktop for CS5 - is that need any longer?  Or can I reclaim the space?
I look forward to trying CS5 over the next days.
    Thanks again,
    Dave

  • CS5 trial installation - Preparing to install

I've tried to install the new Photoshop CS5 Extended trial on my laptop but I just can't seem to get it installed.
When I start the installer nothing happens (PDapp.exe appears in my task manager though) until I go to my task manager and remove the tokengenerator process.
Once I've done this the setup window appears and I can configure my installation until the actual installation begins. Then I just see an animated progressbar with the following captions accompanying it: 'Preparing to install...', 'Total Time remaining: Calculating...', '0% complete'.
And now I'm stuck. I can let the installer run all night if I want and it just won't start actually installing.
I've also tried removing some processes like PDapp, Setup or the Token one but it just won't work.
I've also used the adobe clean utility several times and it doesn't change a thing.
    I'm using Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB ram on a Core 2 Duo T8400.
The same problem happens (exactly the same problem) when I try to install the flash CS5 trial.
    Thanks

Try transferring the installation files (usually found on your desktop) and move it to the root of your hdd (c:\) and run the installation from there

If anyone from Adobe is reading this, please pause my trial. I have an email saying my 30 days has started, but the program isn't even installed yet.
Anyone know how to fix this?

If anyone from Adobe is reading this, please pause my trial.
It's not possible, so forget about it. As for the rest - reinstall Service Pack 3 and possibly other components like the MSInstaller runtime, .NET runtimes or even MS visual Studio 2010 Express. You have something with your DLLs being wrong and hence the installer is messing up operating system detection. Additioanlly, apply any AMD-specific patches and update all your drivers, this is also critical.
