CS5 unable to start Subscription

I have entered my valid serial number and it has check out. When asked to enter my adobe ID, I do so, during authentication it stops and says unable to start subscription, close and reload product. I have done so and the same "unble to start subscription" appears. What do I need to do?

On this page, please click on "I am having trouble downloading or installing my software".
Then click on "I am trying to use a single-user product I bought from Adobe or another merchant".
You will then have an option to chat with a support representative or contact support via phone using the numbers listed.

    Welcome to the forum.
    This might be a case of needing to call Adobe Customer Support.
    The "subscription" version is quite new, and probably most here have never used it. Also, with S/N issues, the best that the majority here can offer is based on reading of problems that others have posted of.
    Hope that someone here has a fix for your issue, but I'd be planning on making that call to C/S (not Technical Support), and having all documentations, invoices, etc. handy.

  • Unable to start subscription that I've had operating for months now.  It keeps saying I need to Try Again.  When I get on CC it says I haHow do I get around this hurtle?ve signed out

    I cannot seem to update my subscription for Adobe Photoshop CC.  It keeps telling me to "Try Again". 
    When I sign in with my Adobe password it brings up a message that I have "Signed Out".
    I've been using this for months.  My billing was done for this month.

    Photoshop CS5.1 (12.1) was the first version which supported subscription licensing.

    I can't recall how the activation was handled back then though. Where did you purchase the subscription? Do you have access to the current Photoshop CC subscription version, and does it launch?

    I recieved Photoshop CS5 as a gift two years ago for Christmas, and have only recently tried to install it on my laptop.  I had previously gone for the 2 week trial, which expired a long time ago.  When trying to enter my serial number to continue with the prolonged subscription, and entering my Adobe information, it gives me an error saying that it is unable to start my subscription without any reason as to why.  Any advice on where to go from here?   I am running Windows 7 on an HP dv7-6135dx Laptop.

    as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
    Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
    I quote: ... helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.

    Sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.

    Please try some steps below,
    Windows
    Click on the "Start" menu. Select "All Programs" and then "Accessories"
    Right-click on "Notepad" and select "Run as Administrator"
    Click "Continue" on the "Windows needs your permission" dialog
    When Notepad opens, click File and select Open
    In the filename field type the following:
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
    If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," ask the user to delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
    From the "File" menu select "Save" after making changes
    Restart Muse
    Macintosh
    Click on the "Finder" icon. Select the "Applications" folder
    Open the "Utilities" folder and select "Terminal"
    Type the following:
    sudo nano /etc/hosts
    Enter the OS user's associated password when prompted
    If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," ask the user to delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
    Press control+o to save the file
    Press control+x to close the file
    Restart Muse
