Cs5 upgrade after DW8 - images issues and site jumping

Hi, hopefully you can help me as I have been on this now for two days straight.
I recently started using CS5 to design my websites and I really like it, I previously used DW8 and had no problems with it, but wanted to keep up with the changes hence the upgrade.
My problems started when I started to upload my site, at first a space started appearing after the images folder? and the images were all broken, I finally fixed that issue.
I have some code written which rotates the front page image everytime there is a refresh, and this code/file does not seem to be uploading to the web, so therfor the image is not showing or rotating.
Also, My new site keep jumping slightly, I have used the same template on another site and this works fine, built in DW8, but now this new site with the same template is causing me so many issues and im wondering if it was money well spent
I would like to know how to fix these problems and how to stop this from happening in the future??
This is the website with the issues- www.theadproject.co
Same template used at- www.mattaesuball.com
Im new to asking for help in these forums, so please let me know what else I can give you in order to get what i need help wise. Thank you

That's due to the RHS browser scrollbar only appearing (correctly) on pages where the content is more than one screen deep.
Solution to the horizontal jog between pages (scrollbar/no scrollbar) is usually to force a scrollbar on every page regardless of content by adding the following CSS to your stylesheet.
html {
     overflow-y: scroll;
http://css-tricks.com/eliminate-jumps-in-horizontal-centering-by-forcing-a-scroll-bar/
I see that your CSS rules are separately embedded in the <head> section of each page. Have you considered externalising it all to a single CSS file and linking to that one file from every page? Then you only have to update the CSS from a single file each time and every page will be updated.
Note: there's a typo in the heading (currently reads" The Ad Projcet") of http://www.theadproject.co/face2.html

  • After using Image Capture and watching a video, the screen resolution changes

    Hello,
Normally the colors of my screen are clear; The top ruler of each window is grey.
But after scanning a color document, the color is pale. As if someone changed the screen resolution.
    Is this a common problem?
My former Macbook Pro died because of a problem with the video system, a default acknowledged by Apple that they didnt want to repair under warranty anymore.
    Does this ring a bell?
Today, the colors quickly became normal again, but I'd like to make sure it ' s not going to become a serious problem.
Maybe this sounds kind of vague, well if anyone has something constructive to say about this, please do.
    thanks

When you decided to not copy the files into the iPhoto Library Folder you took responsibility for File Management. iPhoto does not touch your file structure. Therefore, when you delete a photo from iPhoto you have to delete it from your file structure by hand.
This is not the case if you let iPhoto do the File Management.
There is no way to get iPhoto to find the pics you have deleted from it but which remain in your file structure. In the future, you could Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. You can then delete it from there, and after delete it from iPhoto.
BTW, many people hold on to their own file structure because they feel that they will be unable to find a pic in the Finder, should they need it for uploading or emailing. There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, this produces a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Repartitioning after Boot Camp issue and questions

    Hi,
I recently installed windows XP via Boot Camp, and wanted to chop up my "Macintosh HD" partition into two so that I have a data partition for personal storage. I'm using Disk Utility to do this, it has been running for 8 hours. I checked the number of system calls that Disk Utility is making and it seems that it is making a couple of hundred per second. I was hoping people would help me answer the following:
    1. is it normal to take this long? even windows defragmenter works faster
    2. if it completes, would mac os x still recognize the XP partition and boot from there?
Some people out there must have done this, is there light at the end of the tunnel?
    Thanks a bunch in advance!
    Tom

You can't get the result you want following the steps you told me you followed.
Once you have created the mac partition and installed you can only create the windows partition using boot camp. You cannot do a live partition of the original leopard boot volume to create another mac partition on the same drive.
You also cannot partition a partition using Disk Utility, the only software available on the mac to partition a partition is Boot Camp Assistant and it can only do the partition when booted to the Leopard startup volume on which it is to be created.
If you want to have a further data partition on the same drive you need to create it at the beginning using Disk Utility to create that partition.
In your case that would be the data partition you wanted to create.
The drive must use the GUID partition scheme.
The Leopard individual partition (which will eventually be live partitioned to accommodate Windows) must be formatted for mac os x extended journalled.
The data partition can be formatted with any allowed format and can be changed when you decide what format you want.
Once these 2 partitions have been set up you can only use boot camp assistant to modify the partitioning and then only to create a boot camp partition on the volume that has leopard installed.
The Leopard partition, once partitioned with Boot Camp Assistant, can now only have its partition modified by destroying the original boot camp partition and then setting it up again.
You normally cannot partition a partition without destroying all data on the volume that the partitions are created on.
This live partition is an innovation that was included so that those who wanted to either remove the boot camp partition or wanted to change the size of the partition would be able to do so, without also destroying their Leopard startup volume.
Read my instructions again, the process you describe does not match what I have posted.

  • Firefox 3.6.12 does not load nay images from Joomla sites 1.5.21 and above. Works on Safari but Not Firefox. This happened after the firefox upgrade. All Joomla 1.5.20 and below work ok. why is this happening?

I have been developing Joomla sites for more than 4 years now and generally all the Joomla sites work well in Firefox. In this case, however, ever since Joomla upgraded to 1.5.21 and above, all Joomla sites on this level are having problems with Firefox 3.6.12 loading images.
We have tested a number of Joomla template manufactures and all the results are the same.
This problem is with the macbook pro only thus far. All the other apple products, like the towers, etc. are fine.
Not sure why this is happening. Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Leland

Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.
Thanks for your help; hope this wasn't extremely long.

  • CS5 Upgrade Issues from DW8

I have recently upgraded from DW8 to CS5. This occurred when I purchased a new computer with the OS going from XP Pro to Win 7 Ultimate (remained with 32 bit instead of going up to 64 bit). DW8 didn't like the new OS. Now at this stage I am still carrying maintenance out on the DW8 created sites (haven't created any new CS5 ones yet) and I am having trouble with the PVII Menu system which I was forced to upgrade to Version II (to cope with the New Everything) however, more importantly, CS5 will not let me edit the Editable Section of the Template pages  as DW8 used to do (as soon as I click on the Editable area, the whole sheet "greys out" and locks me out). I can disengage the Template, however if I do that I can't reattached the page back to the Template. Are you aware of a work around, because if not, it looks as though I am going to have to waste hours re-creating the page as a CS5 page to overcome this issue. Your comments will be appreciated. Hope you might have a solution. With over sixty pages on one site, I am not looking forward too that I can assure you....:-(
Your assistance and advice would be very much welcomed.
    Kind regards,
    John C

    Hi SE,
    Looks as though Project Seven made an easy $65.00 from me...:-(  I have attached the Code for the index.htm page below which is the page I am having the trouble with;
I have at this point not üpgraded the PVII Menu System on the DWT Template even though I have already installed the Extension into Dreamweaver. I am thinking that I will just ditch the PV V.1 Menu and replace the Menu with PVII on the DWT Template

after upgrading to mountain lion, i find that my mail app does not have a "VIP" Tab. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue and what it is about?

First, select sender(s) as VIPs. Then the VIP category will appear.
To select a sender as a VIP, open an email from that sender, then hover over their name and a star icon will appear to the left. Click the star, and that sender will be set as a VIP (and the category will appear in the pane on the left).

Custom will show automatically as soon as you just edit some options. So just go ahead, you don't need to select "custom"

  • BOSD, Battery issues and Heating problem after iOS 8 upgrade

i have upgraded my iPad mini to iOS 8. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 am facing blue screen issues and heating problem as well. This is really frustrating even the patch iOS 8.0.2 dint solve the problem. Are you guys listening our complaints. When will you fixing it.

The same thing happened to me on my 2012 Subaru Outback.  I'm not sure this will help you since you have a Honda, but I'm posting this just in case.
I paired the audio on my car with my iPhone 6.  However, when I turned the car off and back on again, the iPhone would not pair automatically.  I had to manually connect the iPhone with the car.  Turns out there are two separate bluetooth pairings on my car: one for phone which allows up to 5 devices and one for audio which allows only one device.  So I did the second bluetooth pairing for the phone (had already done the audio), and that fixed it.  YMMV

  • Issues with getting the slide button to work after upgrade to iOS 7.02 and 7.03

Ever since upgrading to iOS 7.02 and 7.03 having issues with getting the slide button to work to open up iPad 2.  Happened last week and was able to restore it to new and get it to work again and it worked great until one week later (this morning) doing the same thing.  Have tried restoring iPad to new 3 times (via itunes) and still unable to get the slide button to move so can use the iPad.  IPad able to charge, able to restore, able to sync with itunes even able to recover but not able to get past first screen where you have to slide to access iPad.  Any help would be greatly appeciated.  Live about 300 miles from nearest Apple store.

I am beginning to wonder whether there isn't some weird problem with that Home button.
Try this: Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch = On
This will place a button on the iPad's screen.
You can move this button anywhere on the screen.
This button gives you - amongst many other things - a soft Home button.
To turn your iPad on, you can use the Sleep/wake button or move a small magnet across the bezel of the iPad where the volume controls are.
If you use the magnet, then: Settings > General > Lock / Unlock = On
Now should not need to press the Home button anymore.
If this method allows you to use your iPad without a hitch, then suspect hardware problems with the Home button.

  • Having issues viewing sites on Safari/Firefox (even after update 3.0.1)

    Hi,
I'm very new to the world of Mac but have been working on a web site. I have been having ongoing issues being able to view my website on a Mac (using either Safari or Firefox). I put it down to the need to wait for the upgrade to iweb 3.0.1. I have since made the upgrade but am still getting issues. I have tried using the iweb FTP client as well as Cyberduck. Both are coming up with the same issue. If anyone can please let me know what I am doing wrong that would be appreciated.
The local site looks fine, but once I upload it I am having issues. It is probably a simple mistake I am making but I am really scratching my head. I have uploaded the generic Bebop welcome page so you can hopefully see what I mean.
    http://www.mylittlehumans.info/
    Thanks for your help.
    Brad.

I created a new Aperture 3 library by importing around 40,000 images (mixture of supported digital cameras). I spent about four days (and nights) organizing projects. I was very happy with the raw conversion results and the speed. I did all the updates that appeared later (3.01, RAW, Pro Apps from Apple). This past Sunday I exported a project, edited it on a MacBook Pro (with all the updates as the Mac Pro). Then I merged the project back into the major library. Suddenly, I began seeing these distortions you mentioned. At first there were 20-30. By the end of the night, almost 90% of my 40,000 images were distorted. All had been fine for weeks.
I was incredibly pleased with Aperture 3 and was having none of the problems many others mentioned (probably because I imported RAW images fresh and didn't import old Aperture 2 libraries). But to have this happen after all this work .... discouraging to say the least. Now I've returned to Lightroom 3 (again). As a professional photographer the software must consistently work.
Hope there's a solution from Apple for this very soon.
Good luck to you as well.

  • Push email (MS exchange) works intermittently after upgrade to ios 5.1 and ios 5.1.1

I have an iphone 4 with my office email (MS exchange) account configured. Other accounts are Gmail & iCloud.
Office email is configured as Push, Gmail as Fetch and iCloud as Push.
Till ios 5.0.x everything was fine. Office emails were getting pushed and there were no issues.
However after upgrading/restore to ios 5.1 & then 5.1.1 push email mostly does not work.
    Few observations :
    1. Push email works fine when I am at home on wi-fi.
    2. When I leave home for work (therefore on 3G), mails stop getting pushed. Sometimes they get pushed for a period of 1 to 2 hours. Then they stop
    3. Manually fetching office mails also does not work
    4. Strangle accessing the office webmail site in Safari https://mail.xxxxx.com does NOT work. While i can load other sites in safari, the mail site does not load.
    5. In office sometimes in the lift phone switches from 3G to Edge or no signal and then when out of the lift, suddenly mails get pushed, but then stop after some time.
    6. Moment I get onto wi-fi, push emails start working
    7. There is no issue with accessing gmail.
    8. Other push notifications work (gmail app, facebook notifications etc)
    9. There have been no changes to our MS exchange server
    10. I have tried the usual stuff of resetting network settings, rebooting the phone, killing the mail app, going to airplane mode, deleting the mail a/c and recreating etc etc. But no luck.
Apart from upgrading/restoring to 5.1 and then 5.1.1, there have been no changes. The upgrades were done OTA, restore from 5.1.1.
However both times I have not set the phone as new and have restored backups.
Is anybody facing a similar issue ?
    Any suggestions ?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

  • I had to buy a new computer and now can't get my CS3 with CS5 upgrade to work on windows 8.1. What can I do to get them to load and work?

I can load CS3, but it won't let me register it and I can load CS5 upgrade, but when I open CS5 it shows fault and closes. What can I do to get these programs to work on my new computer?

Registration has always been optional, so there is no point in trying. Those pages on the Adobe site are long gone. CS5 crashing is another matter, but without some crash logs and more detailed system information nobody can realyl know. This could be a mundane permissions issue on some files, could be a crash with the hardware acceleration stuff but just the same could be the activation system failing. Impossible to tell based on your limited information.

  • I just upgraded to CS5 from Dreamweaver 8 - where are my sites?

I just upgraded to CS5 from Dreamweaver 8. I am running Mac OS 10.5.8. I was expecting that when I launched CS5 for the first time it would find whatever files it need from my Dreamweaver 8 and my sites would be available in CS5. However, I don't see any of my sites that I manage regularly in Dreamweaver 8. How do I import them in?
    Thanks.

Beacuse of the upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7.3 my Dreamweaver 8 (unexpectedly) stopped working altogether so I had to upgrade to CS5.5
(which, functionally, I didn't even want to do (yet)).
Although it was an upgrade, it didn't take my site settings from v8.
How can I get them now, as Dreamweaver 8 stopped working!?
Please advice as there are settings in there that clients have entered themselves and are not tracked anywhere else.
Ansd is there a way to get CS5.5 to actually work with our html5 / css3 sites as it shows them all garbled?
I hoped this would at least solve this issue, but it sure hasn't :-(
    Kind regards
    Hein

  • After upgrade from DW8 to DWCS6, 2 problems: uploading/downloading (file structure?)

    Hi,
I took a big leap and upgraded from DW8 to DWCS6. Also went from MAC G5 PPC to IMAC with Mavericks.
I transferred my site files over and set up a new site in DWCS6, pointing to the site files. No problem.
However, I have run across two problems since then.
    1. If I open a file on the local site on the computer, it does not see the images folder. I can navigate to it and re-associate the image, but it is not automatic. I did nothing to change the structure of the local site, except move it as a whole from one computer to another. If I add an additional ../ to the SRC, then it comes up. If I then upload that page, the link still exists correctly. I don't understand the problem at all...please help!
    2. When I want to upload a local file using the put command, I get an error message, something like it cannot create a certain folder in which the file exists. However, that file already exists on the remote end. I can drag the file over and then there is no problem.
I believe I can see that the problem is the same with both uploading and downloading, but can't quite figure out how to fix it. Any ideas? I figure this is probably common, or at least, I hope it is!
    Thanks in advance,
    Linda

Wow, thanks so much for the super-fast reply:
I will attach three images showing what you asked for. When I went back to check I noticed that the local files actually do seem to link up the images...it is only when I bring them down (get them) from the remote site that there is a problem...I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember it being this way earlier, but since I have done nothing to 'heal it' it might have been....only thing I did do was piece by piece link them up on the pages on which I was working.
Anyway, here are the screenshots. If you need more, or if they are unclear, let me know.
I really appreciate your help. If you write back and I do not answer immediately, it is only because I am out for a while.
