CS5 upgrade without installing 3 previous versions?

So I am currently running CS3 upgraded from CS2 Upgraded from ps6.
Is there a way that I can purchase the C5 upgrade without installing the three previous versions?
I am purchasing two new computers to replace the older computers in my house.
I have cs3 running on three computers in my house (new are replacing older models.).
I am paying for one of my 3 sons to attend college.  I have thought about a student version but understand that there are limitations.
Can anyone help?

The Educational version is a great way to go - it is  functionally identical to the commercial version, usually without the extra fonts and such.

  • FCP7 upgrade without a previous version installed?

So yes I screwed up. let's get that out of the way. When I bought FCPX I left on my machine FCP7 for a while but then I though, eh, I'm not using 7 for the forseeable future, let's get rid of it for the time beilg and if I need it I'll just reinstall. I've got this thing about needlessly filling up disk space. Well I went to my install discs today to do just that and much to my chagrin realized what I had was an upgrade version. Had forgotten all about that. No need to go into what that did to my blood pressure.
I went to the latest version previous to that and it was FCS 5.1. I put the install disc in and immediately got the soul-crushing error: PowerPC applications are no longer supported. At first I was confused as I had had FCP7 on this very iMac I'm using. It was all very confusing but then realized it was a Universal app so that's why, tho I bought it when I was working on a PPC G5, I could still use it on the Intel iMac. A little (very) investigation revealed the final nail in the coffin: that with Lion, PPC apps were no longer useable.
So here I am with a set of worthless FCPStudio 5 and a nearly useless, tho otherwise just fine, FCP7 upgrade discs. I mean, it's not even like I could dig up a crack for it. I HAVE a legal version w/SN but I can't use it! I remember a time one could install an app that was theoretically an upgrade but didn't need a previous version onboard, (I did that with Freehand once years ago) but it was clear with FCP that I wasn't being allowed to.
So what I need to know is, is there anyway, any kind of workaround, for me to install from these upgrade discs I have without having that all-important previous version onboard?

No, see, I didn't have the option to do anything. I had no ability to select FCP in the install list. I never got so far as it asking what the SN was. I had the old SN at hand ready to supply to the installer.
But it hit me that the only apps I was proscribed from installing were FCP, Motion and Compressor and I thought OOHHHHH! It's not letting me install on that drive because FCPX is already there. Sure enough, I rebooted to my other partition where I also have an OS installed and was able to put FCP7 there.
You just replied to me before I had a chance to tell folks to "never mind"

  • Firefox 4 wont even start up now. how do i uninstall firefox 4 and install previous version

want to know how to uninstall firefox 4 and install previous version. also where to get download of previous version

Your problem is caused by the Ask Toolbar which you have installed. There are compatibility issues between Ask and Firefox at the moment.
Please do the following to ensure a clean installation.<br><br>
#Use Internet Explorer to download Firefox 4.0.1 from this link: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and choose "'''Save'''" when you see the prompt. Then save it to your desktop. ''Do not choose "Run"''.<br><br>
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').<br><br>
#Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.<br>
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.<br>
Next, click the Firefox button and go to Add-ons, then Extensions. Find the Ask Toolbar in there and click "Remove".
If you would still prefer to use the previous secure version, use this download link instead of the one to v4.0.1: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] Otherwise the installation procedure and removal of the Ask Toolbar is the same.

  • Installing 10.4 upgrade without installing ALL previous versions first

Just replaced the hard drive in my iMac. When I tried to reinstall 10.4 I was prompted that it was an upgrade and I would have to install 10.3 first. So I put in 10.3 and got the same message looking for 10.2.
I do have all the previous OS disks but am wondering if there is a quicker way to install 10.4 without first installing all the previous versions first.
    Thanks

I don't know if this could help, but in the past it solved some installation problems for me: reset the PRAM, it is innocuous anyway. To do it you'll need to reboot while pressing cmdopt+"P""R", then you'll hear a new dong sound, keep'em pressd for a new dong and so up to a third one, then release and try 10.4 install again.
PS: If your imac is the latest G5 you'll not able to install 10.4 with the original tiger disks since its minimun bootable OS is 10.4.2. You'll need the restoring disk then.

  • Can I install windows 8 on my mac without any previous versions of windows

I am planning on installing windows on my mac.(Never done that before).
As I am in my final year of my degree I need to use a lot of softwares only available for windows.
My only concern is that will I be able to install Windows 8 (as its the latest version) without any older versions on my Mac?
    Or any alternatives?

    Thanks Csound1 and Allan Eckert.
I will take note of this.
I can wait however long it takes for windows 8 to be supported by boot camp.

  • CS4 to CS5 Upgrade has install/configuration problems ???

(My system is running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit )
    Awile back I purchased:
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 (FULL version) on the Installable DVD's.
...and just recently, last week, I decided to bite the bullit, and go for the 64-bit CS5 version upgrade.
Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 (Upgrade version) -downloadable option (its cost $299.00 US)
Method 1./ Now, this seemed to be more of an installation/config issue for me. but after I ran the CS5 upgrade, it did NOT
    upgrade/change any of my Desktop icons/links ?
In other words, the same old CS4 Icons were on the desktop.
Instead, I had to goto C:\Program Files\Adobe\...CS5\..., and then create a shortcut to the CS5 executable onto my Desktop?
    Method 2./
ok, this so-called CS5 upgrade option obviously dos NOT work right.
So, I completely UN-installed CS4 and CS5, and started from scratch again, but this time I simply installed just
    the CS5 Upgrade binaries.
Well that seemed to work fine, and it also seemed to ievennstall all the 64-bit CS5 modules, though it also created some extra CS4 directories in C:\(x86)Program Files\Adobe... ? why would it do that ?
ok, well has anyone else also experienced any of this upgrade weirdness. ?
Note: I verified my Windows 7 64-bit was up-to-date, and I also "updated" CS5, actually it updates itself.
I have also had a couple "BLUE-screenies", and crashes" in CS5, none of which, in Windows I can really tell what is going on ?, and I never had these issues on CS4 on this same PC.?
I called the 1-800 number for Adobe Technical Support and basically they said the CS5 upgrade that I purchased should have worked fine. uhmmm ya'd think eh?
So, I thought this forum might be more "aware", and/or helpful regarding my Upgrading woes.
    any thoughts, would be appreciated.
    Thankyou.
    Rick.

An Adobe upgrade is an upgrade by price, only. What I mean is that you're buying a new, fully separate version of the Adobe software from whatever your previous version was, and upon installation, your previous version is left intact (hence the reason your icons did not change--CS4 was still installed).
An update, on the other hand (which is what the program automagically did), actually does replace files, but only in the version that you're updating. A semantic issue, perhaps, but an important distinction.
You can run CS4 and CS5 side-by-side if you like, but if you want to be rid of CS4 and maintain only CS5, you need to uninstall CS4--or preferably, reinstall from the OS up. I always like to start fresh when a new suite comes along.

  • How to install previous version of FC

I have an imac 24" 2007 edition, Apple dropped support without warning for this computer when it upgraded to FC to 10.1.
Unfortunately, the App marketplace did not detect that my computer was incompatible and attempted to install 10.1 anyway. Not
only did it not upgrade, but it ruined the funcioning version I had on my computer.
The question is how to install the previous version of FC since it is not available on the App store?

The earlier versions of FC were definitely compatible. I did get an error message when I tried to download the latest version, however, it did not say anything about it being incompatible. It just gave me a generic error message after it partially downloaded the app.
After a few attempts, i gave up and decided to keep my previous version. Except now, every time I try to launch FC, it reconnects to the app store to finish the download. The previous installed version does not work.
I need apple to post a link so that I may download the previous version, I paid for the software, I should be able to use it.

  • I upgrade from the previous version to Firefox 4.o, I can no longer connect to my work HTTPS website.

The site I connect to is my citrix account at work, which needs a certificate. I could connect with the previous version of Firefox (3.6). When I upgraded the browser I got the errors mentioned earlier. I changed the setting for the specific setting from false to true. I still unable to connect and got a different error. Could someone please help! Thanks - Aldo

If you used the option to delete settings, or whatever it is worded when uninstalling, Firefox will remove all your important data information from profiles for all installed versions of Firefox, and you will then need luck and a file recovery utility to try to restore the information.
You mentioned files being moved to Trash, I was hoping you may still have the required original files. I use Windows XP, and I realise Macs use different locations for files, but I think the files have the same names.

  • CS5 upgrade re install problems

Hi I have a new macbook pro and I am trying to re install my photoshop CS5,which is an upgrade from CS2,on this from the upgrade disc.
As this is an upgrade disc I require the original CS2 to install.
I am told I cannot use my copy of CS2 from my old computer by adobe help and need to download a version of CS2 with an attached new serial number from a link they supplied.
I followed the prompts on this link to the download page which had a list of five different download components.
I spent an hour of download time and when I attempted to open them only one would open. CS2 creative suite disc one.
Clicked on Adobe installer in the application and recieved error message, "Cannot open because Power PC applications are no longer supported"
I am very frustrated that this seemingly easy re install is becoming very complicated.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Geoffrey

As this is an upgrade disc I require the original CS2 to install.
You don't have to install the original full version in order to install the CS5 upgrade. Forget about installing CS2 since it will not install on modern Intel-based Macs.
Upgrade installation files include the full program code. The serial number tells Adobe if you've installed an upgrade or a full version.
Just install CS5, enter your CS5 upgrade serial number then enter your CS2 serial number when prompted.

  • Install previous versions of Media Encoder?

I recently updated to Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014, and not wanting to keep older apps on my PC, uninstalled Adobe Media Encoder CC (the previous version). As luck would have it, I need the previous version, as Adobe has ceased supporting the FLV video format in Media Encoder CC 2014, per this posting: http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2014/06/removal-flv-f4v-swf-export-adobe-media-encoder -after-effects-premiere-pro.html
I have visited this page, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=160&platform=Windows, but after downloading and trying a few options I have found that these are just patches/updates, and I receive an "Update Failed Updates could not be applied" message.
So, I'd like to install (while keeping the current version) the previous version on Media Encoder. Is this possible? I so, what web page do I find that on?

Only once have I ever installed After Effects or Premier, and I already had Media Encoder before doing so. For example, with the old Creative Suite DVDs, I was able to select the individual install of Media Encoder without either of those programs.
But now, I would at least like to have the last version of Media Encoder to support the FLV format, which was Media Encoder CC (not CC 2014). So I'm still needing to find where I begin the download or install process of:
    - Adobe Media Encoder CC
    - Or, as you say, Adobe After Effects CC
How do I find those on the adobe.com website? Whenever I find files related to previous versions, they are only updates, but not the actual program installs.

  • How Do I Remove Flash 11 and install previous version?

    Hi Everyone,
While Flash Player 11 seems to work for me with most things (e.g. YouTube, most news and video sites, etc),  I find that it is crashing all the time when playing browser based games that use flash.
I was over on Yahoo's website http://games.yahoo.com/free-games/ and found that it kept crashing on this page or crashing when trying to load any of the games listed on that page.
Given these problems (and judging by the numerous posts on this forum... it looks like there are many issues with version 11), how can I uninstall Adobe Flash 11 and restore it back to version 10, x, x, x ??

  • Installing previous versions of ilife on (mid 2007) imac

deciding about ordering my a new 20" imac 2.4GHZ to replace my G5 imac. I enjoy ilife '08 for some things and still use imovie HD 6.3 for my video editing. I even use the themes from earlier imovie's. Can I install earlier versions of imovie from my iLife '04,'05, '06 discs, while leaving ilife '08 still installed on my new imac (mid 2007) so idvd an iphoto and iweb are the latest. I guess I may want to Manually install earler versions of ilife and then re-install ilfe '08 from the install disc of the new imac, and its really the idvd themes from current to past, that I still want access to.
    Any help is appreciated

I guess what I really need to do is wait till Leopard is released, a better buying decision anyway for a new mac.
    1. Then reformat drive install Leopard 10.5.x with out installing iLife Applications then install iLife '06 and then use the install disc that came with my new mac to upgrade the iLife apps to life '08 and I will still have imovieHD in a separate folder automatically.
    2. If, take a new imac (mid 2007 ) out of the box and open idvd and click on the themes button will it show idvd themes 7/ 6 / 5 / and older themes? I guess that is the main question that I have?

I am running Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard and would like to go back to the previous version of Safari (5.0.5?). How can I do that?
    Thanks.

If you have the older Safari version on a TimeMachine backup you can simply restore it to your applications folder. If not, download and run the 10.6.8 Update Combo from Apple http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 and it will bring you back to 5.0.5. Both methods worked for me without any issues.
