  • Acrobat PRO XI install errors

"This installation package could not be opened.Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
Too funny. And THAT is a Windows error.  Adobe software won't "automatically" install correctly on trial basis of Acrobat Pro XI but gives no hint of probs.  I even read one solution where the answer casually suggested the user go modify the registry.  Most users should NOT make registry changes if they don't know what they're doing, as they can indirectly affect other products.
So what's the answer, here, ADOBE?

We are trying to help, but you are venting instead of providing information to allow us to help. Many of us got to the forums for the same reason you came here, though we already had the product. Sabian has provided the standard download location. Normally there should be no problem with the install and I do not understand why you are getting the message. Others may drop by that have run into the problem. Even if Adobe talked to you, you would probably just get a step through of a check list to try to isolate the problem based on that check list. It sounds like you don't have a valid download and Sabian's link might help if that was not where you got it.

I don't know if this is the right section but I experience the following issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on Windows 8.1. When I start Acrobat the related window opens normally but, after some scroll up and down along the document, it blocks, Acrobat doesn't respond to any command I can give and, in place of the pointer arrow, a vertical bar, as the one of the text editor appears. The only way I can stop Acrobat is by means of the task manager. I tried to de-install and the re- install Acrobat but the behaviour is always the same. What can I do??

Have you opened Acrobat and gone to Help>Updates to get an updated install?

  • I have Acrobat Pro 9 installed on Windows 8

I have Acrobat Pro 9 installed on Windows 8 and it asked me to download Adobe Reader 11.0.09 Font Packs - Asian and Extended Language Pack but it says I need Adobe Reader XI to be installed first.  Will this pack work with Acrobat Pro 9?  Is there a different pack for Acrobat Pro 9?  Thanks for any help.
Also: I am not doing anything with languages other than English.  I don't read them or write them.  I just use English. Why do I need such a pack?

    Hi Hanoch ,
Compatibility of Acrobat 9 with Windows 8 could be a reason that you are facing such an issue.
As Acrobat 9 is an older version ,that could be one of the reasons it is prompting you to download the Reader 11.0.09 Font Packs.
Would request you to check for an update first ,and if it fails try switching on to the latest version of Acrobat ,i.e 11.0.10.
    To check for Updates.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Check for Updates.
You may also want to refer to the following link.

    See if that helps.

  • Cannot install Acrobat Pro X, 1603 error

I had Acrobat Pro X installed but was unable to do update because of 1603 error. Uninstalled Acrobat Pro X, Reader 11, Livecycle Designer, Livecycle Workbench, Flash Builder Pro 4. Ran adobe acrobat cleaner. Rebooted. Still no success.
Set DisableRollback and AlwaysInstallElevated at HKLM and HKCU in the registry. Rebooted. Install still failed but this time left program_files\adobe folder in tact. No shortcuts from start menu so found Acrobat.exe and opened that. Dialog appeared saying Adobe Application Manager missing or damaged and to download. Ran setup.exe for Application manager and dialog says Installer failed to initialize, and to download Adobe Support Advisor.
Ran Support Advisor and gotb the following:
cpsid_83578r3: Error, "Validate license at Pre-chrome" when installing - Creative Suite 5
Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue.
I don't think the Application Manager and Support Advisor make a difference since the product failed to install correctly and a license value was either not written or was deleted afterward. I wanted to stop the install action from rolling back to see if anything salvageable remained. There are no install logs at c:\program_files\common_files\adobe, but there is an installer log in the temp folder.
Reading the installer log shows error 1603 and four "Return value 3" instances. I hate to paste the entire log into a message here. Will email to anyone that wants it or will paste here if necessary. Thanks

  • Since installing CS6, Acrobat Pro X fails I had to reinstall it a few times, now doesn't work

Since installing CS6, Acrobat Pro X failed a few times. I had to reinstall it a few times, now doesn't work at all even after installing again.

    Hi there
    Thank you for your reply.
When I click on the link for the cleaner however, before I can download the
file, it gives me this message:
"Important - This tool is not for use with any creative suite products
including suites that contain Acrobat. It can only be used with standalone
versions of Acrobat and Adobe Reader"
Adobe X Pro forms part of my Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard?
    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • Pro XI Install error on Win 7 64-bit "The application was unable to start correctly"

I am trying to install Acrobat Pro XI an a computer running Windows 7 64-bit
Before I can install I get the following error:
I exited the install and ran vc_red from the Adobe CD.
Started install of Acrobat XI and got the same error.
I exited the install and installed vcredist_x64 (Visual C++ 2010 SP1 downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center)
Started install of Adobe Pro XI and the same error came up.
Decided to proceed with the install.
Got the following error once install had completed:
Closed the error by clicking "OK" and clicked finish on the install window.
Tried to run Acrobat and got the same error as above except it said acrobat.exe-application error instead of acrodist.exe-application error.
    Restarted PC-Same Error
    Used Adobe cleaning utility
    Rebooted PC
    Reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI
    Same Error

I haven't heard of any fix from Adobe but maybe this will hwlp.
I kept getting an error this morning when trying to install Windows updates on my PC. One of the updates was trying to update Visual C++ (vc_red) from a folder on the C drive which was locked. The folder had a very long name (2f4b86.....). I kept getting a popup box pointing to the folder but it would not install the update from there. I had to copy the folder to the C:\Users\Public Downloads folder to get it to install. I mention this because vc_red seems to be involved with the previous Acrobat XI installation issue I had.
I would try looking at your installed updated and see if you have either update installed.:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)
Removing them may allow Acrobat XI to be installed.

  • Why does acrobat reader 10 keep re-installing even though acrobat pro 11 installed

I have Acrobat Pro 11 installed, and even though I keep uninstalling (Windows 7, Programs and Features) Acrobat Reader 10, it keeps re-installing it.
How to I stop this from happening?

No, acrobat pro isn't doing it, it looks like updater is doing it.  It's as if updater still thinks acrobat reader 10 is installed and tries to update it for me.
And yes I am on a corporate network, but there are no 'AD policies' in place to install reader or update it.  And other users with Pro on their system don't have this issue.

  • I can't get acrobat pro to install

I can't get acrobat pro to install from the creative cloud after I uninstalled.

    Hi lauraslater1,
Are you getting any error message. Please follow the kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html if Acrobat showing up to date even after you uninstalled it.

  • Adobe Acrobate Pro re-Install

My old laptop, which had Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 installed, had a hard disk hard failure. I am trying to install from the original CD onto a new computer and the install has told me that I must deactivate on my old computer (which I cannot do because it is broken) so that I can install on my new computer. How do I proceed now?

  • Where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

When Acrobat is installed first, it does not have a Plug-ins menu. When you buy extra plug-ins for Acrobat, some plug-ins will add a Plug-ins menu. Some won't - some will add other menus, or buttons, or something else.
    So
    1. Make sure you have purchased the Mac plug-in(s) you need.
    2. Make sure they are installed.
    3. Make sure they are compatible with your version of Acrobat; the Mac is much less forgiving about versions, you need to check carefully.
    4. If the plug-in is compatible and installed perhaps it doesn't add a plug-ins menu.

  • Getting Adobe Acrobat Pro to install in German

We have been unable to get the Adobe Acrobat Pro to install in German dispite selecting the specific download, and language settings, it simply has installed in English on our Switzerland users machine.
    Please advise on this.

Care to provide some screenshots of the install as well as the install logs perhaps? Also, what system language do you use or for that matter what systems actualyl to begin with? Installers fall back to the default language of the insatall package if they cannot detect the system language correctly and due to installer dependencies manual overrides may then not work and still wrong files be installed.

  • Acrobat pro 8 scanner error 200010

Acrobat pro 8 scanner error 200010. I am using a Canon all in one fax scanner laser printer. Acrobat prints correct but does not seem to recognize scanner. Using MAC Pro Intel / 9gb ram with OSX 10.6.8 and Canon Imageclass MF4350 d printer/fax/copier/scanner device. Acrobat shows Canon MF 4350 USB as only device in scan menu. I believe it should show Canon MF 4350 FAX but no option to change device in scan menu. Help would be appreciated

  • Master Collection CS6, Acrobat Pro X Ghost Install... (Mac)

So you know when you do a ghost poo, as in you do a poo and when you check the toilet and it's not there, well that's what the CS6 Master Collection Installer is doing with Acrobat Pro on my Mac (OSX Mountain Lion).
I run the installer and it says it's installed but then when you look in the Applications folder it's not there. I've tried setting the install location to a different address and creating that folder using the installer but still no love. Any ideas?
I've been having a lot of problems in the past few days with the latest version of the Master Collection which has cost me huge hours I've lost more than a day redownloading all the software after the Application Manager stopped wanting to load and so stopped me from using my license on CS6 software versions which were installed originally as trials (then it took me a while to realise that Acrobat XI wasn't included with the Master Collection, which should be called the Substandard Collection if it doesn't have the latest versions of each software package). Since someone at Adobe didn't think of offering a separate download link for just Acrobat X (unlike every other package on that download page on a non-Adobe.com site which I linked to from an official Adobe page http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html), I've since spent 14hrs waiting for the absolutely massive CS6 installer package to find out that Acrobat won't work now (I did have Acrobat Pro 8/CS3 but it's custom file system windows don't work on Mountian Lion, great programming there guys).
And someone make a stable version of Fireworks that doesn't crash every time you're doing something mundane. If there was decent alternatives I would be switching, Adobe buying Macromedia was bad for the industry, the monopoly means they can continue to do such a bad job with their software that we can't do much else but keep using it.

I followed the help ideas, did some of them (some folder renaming, uninstall Adobe Air and then went to Adobe to D/L the new installer and installed it again, and again trying to resart in Safe Mode)... Nothing did the trick...
Then, while still in Safe Mode, after one failure, I opened the main, "Adobe CS6 Design Standard" folder again. I started snooping around, opening the other folders, and in the Payloads folder found whole bunch of software "stuff"... See below, the very first was an Acrobat folder that included the Installer.pkg. So, what the heck, I already spent hours on this, I double-clicked it, and BINGO, it installed the program w/o any issues... I did a regular restart, and the program is working...
...Not sure what you or any Adobe expert would make out of it, but it seems like an easy workaround, so it seems....
