CS6 AE & CC AE at same time ...

Hi there, ...
please, I have a question. I own a physically CS6 + CC abo and AE is busy with rendering right now .. is there any way to run AE a second time on one workstation to keep on working without using a second computer?
Maybe it's a silly question - sorry if so^^, but I don't like it to sit here and wait until rendering is done and my workstation has almost enough resources ...
Of course I can use my Laptop to create simple things this time ... but hm ... thats not such a great deal for performance and media encoder just needs to much time to render :/
Thx & greetz!

For most work I find the media encoder about the same speed as rendering with the render cue and I end up with a deliverable so in the long run, if the work is headed for broadcast, the web, or disk I end up saving time. This is because very few of my projects are completely MP aware so there's no speed advantage using the render cue.

  • Can we use CS6 and CC at the same time on different machines?

We have a Creative Cloud subscription and have software downloaded to an iMac and also to a PC. I understand that we can't use the applications on both machines at the same time, but could one of my colleagues use the CS6 versions at the same time on the PC?

    Hi Carol
A subscription to Creative Cloud gives you access to the CC version and the CS6 version of the software.  From the original question, it seemed to me that they were asking if they can share the subscription between 2 colleagues if one used the CC version and the other used the CS6 version.  That is not permitted as the subscription is licensed to one user.
If you have a Creative Cloud subscription and a perpetual license for CS6 then you can use them concurrently on 2 machines as they are separate licenses.
    Does this help clarify?
    Thanks

  • Can I have CS6 and CC installed at same time?

I am taking editing classes at a community college, which only has CS6. I have CC at home. From all the discussions I've read about non-backward compatability (which does suck btw), I'm thinking I should also have CS6 on my computer. Found CS6 (digital and CD version) on Amazon. Yes? Good idea? Am I missing somethin'? Thanks in advance.

Install both CC and CS6 apps
Can I install both CC and CS6 apps with my Creative Cloud membership?
Yes, you can download most CS6 apps from the Download Center on creative.adobe.com. Click any app icon. From the product download page, for example Illustrator, look for the heading "In this version" and click the version pop-up menu beneath it to select CC or CS6. The large blue Download button at the top of the page changes to "Download CS6".
    Note:
It is fine to have both CS6 apps and CC apps on your computer. Some users require multiple versions for different clients, etc. It's a personal preference, but in no way is a requirement to uninstall your CS6 apps in order to install CC apps.

How do I view more than one image at the same time in CS6?

    Hi there
If you go to Window > Arrange you can choose from several view options. Below I have selected Two-Up Horizontal since I have two images, but you can select other options if you have more than one image.

  • Upgrade Premiere Pro CS5.5 on PC to CS6 on MAC? Use both at same time?

Can I upgrade from my Premiere Pro CS5.5 on my PC Laptop to CS6 on my new MAC machine?  If so, will I still be able to use my CS5.5 on my PC at the same time as using CS6 on my MAC?
I'd be grateful for your advice and, if this is possible, how to proceed.
    Many thanks,
    Andrew Kent

The original poster was not on the Creative Cloud subscription.
    What a mess.
I think what Baber is saying is Adobe considers an "Upgrade" purchase from a prior license as an entirely new separate license. That allows you to run the old version license on a different platform from the new "Upgrade" license.
So if you need to run both platforms (Windows and Mac) your options are:
    Cloud subscription
Purchase a whole new second license to be able to run the current version on both platforms (what we did)
Wait for an point version update and upgrade going to the other platform. That allows you to run on both Windows and Mac, but one version back on one of the platforms but at a greatly reduced price until the next point upgrade.
Seems pretty convoluted and obtuse. But ..."It is what it is."

  • Illustrator CS6 crashes when 40 or more files are open at the same time

    Windows 7 SP1, Illustrator CS6
The end users spends 7 hours of their 8 hours in Illustrator. As part of the job, they have to have over 40 different files open at the same time because they are working on several jobs at the same time as well as working forward. So the answer is not "they have to close some files". This, unfortunately, is not an option.
We recently upgraded them to CS6. They said that version CS5 was fine and didn't crash like this. But Illustrator CS6 crashes on them, closes itself, and obviously they lose all unsaved changes (saving the changes isn't a choice either, because the files are shared and have to stay original).
The only modification we've done to the program is to UNcheck "Append" in the preferences.
This happens on all 3 computers for all 3 users, so I don't believe it to be end-user related.
Does anyone out there know of a way to get Illustrator to stop crashing?
Is there a specific limit on the number of files that can be open?
    Thanks,
    Spencer

No, they aren't working on the same files. All 3 employees are working on different files.
They are all on Dell Optiplex GX745 with 4 Gb of RAM.
The crashes are at different times, not all 3 crashing at the same time. Therefore, I don't believe network is the cause of the issues. Also, it didn't crash on CS5, but now it does on CS6.
What I'm looking for are possible settings within Illustrator CS6 that I can tweak to make it a more stable program.
    Thanks

  • How can i edit lenght of the all layers in timeline at the same time??? in Photoshop cs6 extended

How can i edit lenght of the all layers in timeline at the same time??? in Photoshop cs6 extended
Because when i select all layers in layer panel or right in timeline panel, i will be able to edit duration only in one layer... so if i can document with more than 20 layers, the work will be terrible
Please give me someone some tips... and tricks

You can't delete the All On My Mac as it is an automatic group to display all of the contacts that are stored "On My Mac." You can delete all of the contacts that are in the ON MY MAC section by selecting All ON My Mac and then selecting all contacts. Press delete and approve the deletion. Then, select each group under ON My Mac and delete those individually.
Then, Make sure iCloud is set as the default account in the General Address Book Preferences.

  • Can I run CS6 on Desktop and CS5 on Laptop at the same time?

First off, let me start by saying I am a small business owner. I am at work between 10 to 16 hours per day, every day. I have very little time in my life that I am not sitting at my main desktop macintosh, unless I am sleeping.
All of my my work files are on my desktop computer in CS5. I plan to keep using CS5 for all working files for now. I only purchased CS6 to backsave.
But I want to LEARN CS6, and slowly work into it before I make a sudden, or dramatic, change.
I want to do turtorials and go through the CS6 learning curve on my laptop. It sits peacfully at my side, all day every day. Any downtime I can be playing, learning and experimenting. Without fear of doing any damage to my CS5 files or my main production mac.
If I try to run CS5 on the desktop and CS6 on the laptop, at the same time -- will they CALL HOME, STOP, FREEZE, LOCK UP, or and send me, in any form, to ADOBE JAIL or ABUSE CENTER?
Does anyone have an answer for this?

Thank you both -- you have made my entire day. I thought I could, but was worried that something terrible would happen. Which I am worried about to begin with. It will be great to be able to learn all of the componets of the full Desging and Web upgrade, at my own pace, in my down time.
Truly appreciate your time and your replies

  • How can I open multiple files as Photoshop Raw files at the same time for Photoshop CS6 extended on a PC?

I am trying to open 20-25 files at the same time as Photoshop Raw [*.RAW] files.
The only way I can open multiple files is if i leave the file type as All Formats. When I change it to  Photoshop Raw [*.RAW], the files a deselected.

Use bridge. Select all the files then press ctrl-r or cmd-r to load the selected files into camera raw.
If you try this in Photoshop use File>Open As then for file type choose camera raw. (I have not tested open as for opening multiple files)

  • Can I install the Photoshop CS6 Subscription Edition on two computers at the same time?

I'm interested in ordering Photoshop (so not the whole Creatie Cloud but single app only) via the subscription service but I'm wondering if I can install it on my home laptop as well as my office desktop. I wouldn't actually use them at the same time, but as we all know, occasionally work follows you home.

Yes, you can. Refer to the EULA for the exact legal blurb

  • Photoshop CS6 - 'Two computers at same time' question

    Hi guys.
I've tried searching for this question before but I couldn't find a definitive answer to it in the threads (maybe that's for a reason!).  Now, clearly the TOS stipulate about using PS on one computer at a time.  I understand that, as otherwise you could give a copy to a friend, for example.  However, for work purposes it would be helpful for me to have the program open on two of my computers here in my household at the same time; of course I'd only be actively at one computer at any given moment so not technically using the other, but it would be open.  It would also be using the same internet connection because of this (just in case that's a 'thing' worth mentioning).
My question is really this: Is the 'one computer' requirement actively enforced via the software (a little like the monthly (or so?) online validation of the software serial), or is it more of a 'Please just don't do this' type of deal?  I can ensure people my reasons are legitimate but I don't want to risk installing again in case I'm 'flagged' and lose access to expensive software that I can ill afford to replace.
Many thanks for any and all answers.

ave the program open on two of my computers here in my household at the same time; of course I'd only be actively at one computer at any given moment so not technically using the other, but it would be open.
My experience with this is that nothing deactivates but, upon launching the second copy on the same network, a window appears saying that two copies have been launched and the first copy should first be closed if you wish to continue using the second copy.
So I've never been able to run the software on two computers simutaneously on the same network.

I'm getting this message: Cannot open file because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.1). You must use that version or later to open the file." AARRGGHH! So how do I access the file?

Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

  • When I have firefox open, it crashes at the same time as my display driver crashes (Crash signature: kernelbase.dll@0xb9bc)

The screen turns black (audio remains normal if I'm playing music) and then flickers back on. I get a message that says "Nvidia display driver stopped responding and has recovered successfully." This happened before and Firefox wouldn't always crash, but the last few days it happens several times a day and Firefox always crashes at the same time as the display driver.

  • Multiple users working in the same document and same time.

    Hello Guys,
and thanks for looking into this
At our company we're still in doubt wether or not to update our software to CC or just update to CS6. Currently we all have different versions (going from CS3 to CS5), and that's really time-consuming.
The most important question would be if it is possible in the CC to work in the same file at the same time.
Working on magazines, catalogues or books this would be a major time-saving option!
For example I could work on chapter 1 and 6, whilst my collegues are working on the other chapters.
The other users could then see how far I am on my chapters, change things (make notes) etc.
Is this possible in CC or not?
Thanks for your answers and time.
    Best regards,
    Sam
PS: If there are major setbacks working on the cloud (between multiple users/computers) please let us know.

    Let me attempt an answer.
Short answer, no. Multiple users cannot edit a the same file at the same time.
You'll need a content management system, to enable check in/check out, prevent overwrites etc. But (there's always a but), Creative Cloud offers several workflows and tools that can be used to help streamline multi-user publication workflows.
Using Creative Cloud will ensure that all users will be on the same version of the software, and there won't be any accidental lockouts due to format changes, and no need to run arounf to get the document downsaved. All users also have access to the latest features as soon as they become availble.
For products, such as books and magazines: InDesign needs to be the primary software that you use. When you design the content architecture of your publication, you can employ the following techniques and tools:
Break up your publications into several INDD files, let's say for file for each story.
Compile the individual files into an InDesign book.
Link Ps and Ai or other files when you place them in the InDesign layout. That way whenever a designer updates an asset, InDesign will notify you that a linked file has changed and you can choose to update the link.
InCopy was recently added to the Creative Cloud. Authors can can edit stories without actually having to open the InDesign files. For details see the InCopy help. InCopy has several workflows that can help out in this kind of setup.
Other than the Creative Cloud apps, you'll also need to setup folder and directory structures on the shared storage location.
Setup a shared location/drive so that all users have access to the linked files.
Control read/write access to individual files using the OS commands on the file directory/server. For example, Layout designers only have edit permissions on the layout (indd files); while Photographers can only edit .psd files, and so on. For small teams this might not be necessary, but for larger teams this may help.
You could also consider storing your files using a Content Management System. You'll need to evaluate the cost and benefits properly.
    Hope this helps.
