Cs6 asks for cc licence?

When opening ai cs6 on Mac Pro, it asks for cc license. ai cs6 runs without problems on macbook pro.
I once had cs6 and cc on both machines, but now only cs6 is left. all other programs cs6 run without problems.

I already did twice – same problem!

Tommarec,
It sounds as if your Mac Pro thinks that you are running CS6 under CC as subscription (which is possible), rather than as a separate perprtual licence version.
You may need to reinstall as perpetual.

I have subscribed to CC and downloaded Photoshop. When I came to launch it was told that trial was over and asked for a licence key. I am paying a subscription and inevitably cannot find any link to contact Adobe - instead have been directed to forums. Can you help? Many thanks Ivan

there's no key with cc.  you use your adobe id.
sign out and then back in to your cc desktop app using the same adobe id used to subscribe to cc, Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app
    then open an app.
if that fails, Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later

  • I keep getting asked for a licence number

I downloaded the photographers package from CC and PS loaded OK but LR keeps asking for a licence number. how do I stop this ?????

The CC Photographers Package LR is different than the serial-number LR.  Uninstall the LR 5 you have, use Gear / Preferences / Account / Signout in the CC Desktop app, to sign out of CC, then reboot, then check for updates in the CC Desktop app.  LR 5 should be available, so install that.

  • CS6 asking for serial key after 18 months of use

I purchased DW CS6 through the education scheme and have been merrily using it for 18 months. Yesterday tried to load it an it's asking for a Serial number of go to a free trial. I have read the forums and this is a common problem. How do I solve this? If not can I get a refund? I also do not have a serial number on the packaging, rather a Product Code.

    Hello Belinda,
this sounds very strange and so you should have a look at Adobe's database, to see what's stored/saved about your accounts. Here you will find general infos about your Adobe Account https://www.adobe.com/account.html >>> see My productsView all >>> These registered products are associated with your Adobe ID. >>> Name >>> Serial number. And to find your serial number have a look there http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html  >>> I lost my serial number >> see comment.
The last time Adobe suggests so too this https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?step=ZNA_downloading-installing-setting-up_licensing- activation.
If your problem persists, please click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and if "open" please use the chat, I for my part had the best experiences. I quote from Adobe's employee Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.

  • CS6 asks for AdobeID when deployed in image

We have a volume license of Master Collection CS6 and have installed it in an image which we are deploying to 50 macs in a lab. The installation is made with AAMEE, so it's serialized and signed with an AdobeID.
The problem is that on the deployed macs, it first says the trial has ended, then when I choose to quit and the run the app again, the "Sign In Required" dialog is showing and that I have to sign in to continue using the app.
I suspect that the installation is serialized with some kind of hardware id and will only work on the exact same machine which I created the image on. Is this correct?

    Hi,
There is a relationship between the machine ID and Adobe License and thus imaging will break the serialization of CS6 products and your products will be installed in trial mode. So, you just need to serialize your products on all the machines where trial is installed.
Once you have deployed the trial version on the machines through imaging, you should use the serialization executable to serialize your CS6 products. Just run the serialization executable workflow of AAMEE  and its output will be a folder containing AdobeSerialization.exe and a prov.xml file. You should copy this to all the systems where the trial is installed and then run this executable via command line -
    AdobeSerialization --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=Absolute_Path_of_prov.xml
    where
--tool=VolumeSerialize specifies that the tool needs to process the prov.xml file to serialize.
--provfile specifies the absolute file path to the prov.xml file,
By default, the tool looks for the prov.xml file in the same directory as the executable file and so typically you do not need to specify this option. (Specify this option only if the prov.xml file is in some
    other location.)
This will serialize your CS6 products. For more information, please refer to page 40 of  AAMEE documentation posted at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html
There is also a video tutorial for deployment using imaging available at   http://tv.adobe.com/show/creative-suite-in-the-enterprise/

  • Photoshop CS6 asking for licence, invalid code when entered

    Hi there,
I've been subscribed to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop since February last year. In the last week, I haven't been able to open my Photoshop because it tells me my trial has expired. When I enter the licence code again, it says it is invalid.
I thought perhaps it was an issue with my subscription having run out, but I checked on my account and it's renewed, and I've already been charged for this month. I'd really appreciate some help - I don't want to cancel and restart it because I'd have to pay again because I'd be paying twice for this month.
It's probably an easy fix. I just suck at computer stuff.
    Thanks.

    1) Every version of all Adobe software has worked like this. It was the faulty upgrade of the Windows OS to 64-bit that resulted in this behavior. I believe we still don't know why this only happened to a small number of systems, but it is most likely tied to system processor (we have seen such issues in the past) and probably something to do with the BIOS as well.
    2) Not at all. As with all versions of Adobe applications, you can install the software for use on two machines. The activation process lets you lock your serial number to two different Machine ID's at a time. If you want to change machines, you can use the deactivation process to decouple your serial number from your Machine ID for use on a different computer.
2a) Yes, precisely. The Machine ID swap seems to be tied to rebooting the computer and it is generally switching back and forth between a 32-bit and a 64-bit identity. I'm not aware of how to do a local call to get this particular ID off a computer. It is tied to the actual hardware of the machine. This ID should only changed when you do some major modifications to the machine, such as swapping out the processor.
    3) You can do this yourself. Just go to Help > Deactivate.
    4) Again, yes. This has been used for every version of Adobe applications. However, we have made updates to the system that have taken card of this behavior. I have not heard of this issue happening with any of our subscription customers.
    5) Unfortunately, this is not possible for legal reasons.
    6) The Adobe Application Manager is the precursor to the Creative Cloud desktop app. They use the same core technologies, but there have been a number of updates to the make it the desktop app. They are very different in appearance. Here are some screenshots of the desktop app: Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app
    7) Hopefully, those new threads are in the correct forums. The Photoshop product forum is not the correct place to have discussions on this topic. Posts of this nature should be going to Adobe Licensing or Downloading, Installing, Setting Up

  • CS6 ask for administrator permissions for use after new installation - Win XP SP3

Installed and verified CS6 successfully as Administrator.
Works perfectly as Administrator. But as a user impossible.
The installation & activation was done as Administrator.
But when the user log-in and attempt to open the software - eg InDesign - error: 213:11 is displayed.
    Equipment installed in.
    HP Desktop Elite 8200sff
    Intel Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz,
    4GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    Windows XP Professional SP3

Well, you need to be able to run the pertinent licensing service and allow access to the PCD folder. sounds like you have overdone with your group policies and permissions to restrict privileges....

  • Encore CS6 is asking for a Serial Number when I have Creative Cloud

I have the same problem identified here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1024884
I am running Windows 7 on a new Dell Vostro, have a subscription to Creative Cloud, have never installed a trial version of the software, and recently installed Premier Pro. The first time I try to run Encore, I get the two screens shown in that thread and repeated here:
"Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in trial mode. Please relaunch the application and provide a valid serial number."
"Adobe Premier Pro. Provide a serial number."
I had previously got the problem identified here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/missing-sequence-presets.html
Following the recommendations fixed the problem, but still Encore has the same issue.
    When I access this URL:
    https://lm.licenses.adobe.com/
    I get the message:
"Congratulations! You have successfully connected to Adobe License Management Server."
It appears this is a common problem, but there does not seem to be a common solution. For example, here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4677807
    and
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4589055
I checked and have no "Hosts" file.
    Further, here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4677888
I have found that waiting or rebooting the PC does not fix the problem.
Lastly, I tried that proposed here:
    http://www.seangw.com/wordpress/2012/08/help-photoshop-cs6-asks-for-serial-number-after-si gning-up-for-creative-cloud/
And that did not work either.
Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro all work fine.
    So, what is the solution?
Update, 2012-11-06. I spent 30 minutes on a chat session with Adobe support. The support person told me emphatically that Encore is not part of Creative Cloud and can be obtained only by buying Premiere Pro and not from the Creative Cloud subscription. To prove the point, the support person pointed me to this page:
    https://creative.adobe.com/apps
Now on that page, Adobe has done something clever and stupid. If you view the page with XP (for example), it does not show Premier Pro because Premiere Pro works only on a 64 bit OS. If you view the same page under Windows 7 it does show Premiere Pro. I think it would be better if Adobe showed the application (possibly greyed out) with a note that it cannot be installed on the PC that is viewing the page. Well, I was having the chat on my laptop (running XP) and I guess the support person was also on XP so the case was proved!
But I sent him a link to this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/tools.html
However, the support person told me I needed to contact sales. I called them and asked the support guy to wait on the chat session until I had an answer. The lady in sales said that Encore is definitely included in Creative Cloud. But as I was about to relay that information to the support person, he ended the chat session!
The pleasant lady in sales said she would transfer me to phone technical support. I was on hold for 60 minutes and had to quit to go and do a task.
Perhaps this will be resolved and I shall update this thread ...

I got help with this problem.
You only need to sign out from the creative cloud. Go to preference, sign out. Open Premiere Pro CC, help sign out.
Then re-open premiere pro cc and sign back in, and you should now be able to open encore as well!
    Worked for me!

  • CC for Teams Acrobat XI Pro asks for licence number

Hi! Please help me, I'm getting desperate!
I have a valid Creative Cloud for Teams account. Still my Acrobat XI Pro now claims that my evaluation period is over, and asks for my licence number. Quite annoying! I have tried most advices here in the forums:
    - Reinstalled Acrobat.
    - Updated Acrobat to latest version.
    - Signed out from an other CC application, signed in again from Acrobat.
...but the problem returns every time. By the way, CC was installed on a clean Win 7 installation, so there should be no traces from earlier versions of Adobe software.
I have read many forum messages on this subject, so Adobe should address this problem immediately. We are not getting what we are paying for, as long as applications in CC don't work.
    H. Kleppe

There are some different procedures for installation of Acrobat under CC and I am not really familiar with them. Several folks have been asking recently. It is probably best to ask in the CC forum.

I too am having this problem. I believe I have verified the licence, but still keep getting the same error message:
I've also been locked out of Acrobat, as described by the last user.
I have the CS6 Cloud subscription and am running Windows 7 professional.
I am finding this whole situation very frustrating.
